Absolutely fantastic! We just got into town and decided to try this place out. We had the Black Manhattan, which was exquisitely crafted! We had scallop and pork belly appetizer. Stupendous! We had the warm mushroom salad which was mouthwatering delicious. And we shared the entree of the elk tenderloin. Phenomenal! Could not have been a better meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was beautiful and the service was excellent.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Five stars for sure!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Located right in the midst of action, the ambiance was top notch--perfect for a special occasion.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For starters I had a Lemon Drop cocktail which was excellent. We shared the hanger steak served rare. It was a minor work of art in its presentation, and tasted as good as it looked. It was accompanied by pavé potatoes, which is menu-speak for a baked stack of thin potato slices. They were actually pretty good. And the whole roasted peppers served as garnish surprisingly added a welcome flavor. I uploaded a photo.

We had mixed experience. My husband's food was fabulous (lobster burger) and he would recommend it to anyone and felt it was very reasonably priced for the quality. I had the salmon and the sides were great (especially the mushrooms) but fish was terrible. The fish wasn't fresh and had that fishy (trout like) after taste. The brussel sprouts app was good, but citrus zest was overpowering. Wine list is good and service was very attentive. I appreciated that all the wait staff seem to work in harmony. Ambiance was fine but very loud - so if you struggle in loud places - ask for rooftop instead.

Impressive service from Malachi and attention to detail from the GM Eric. Eric placed us at an open table during the dinner service when only reservations were being seated. Eric told us to give him about 45 minutes to sneak us in. We returned at that time and Eric placed us in Malachi's (should be #1 server) section. What a treat. Everything about our meal was excellent. I saw the hangar steak on the menu and just had to try the Chimichurri. Well, not as good as mine, but the plate was fantastic with the 20 layer potatoes smoked tomato jam, blistered shishitos, roasted garlic aioli and THEIR chimichurri. Excellent plate. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful setting. A great spot to splurge on an outing with my wife.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If we ever come back to Durango, this will again be a must do. Dicks

organic greens side salads and ciabatta.

On the recommendation of our hotel host, we went here while celebrating our wedding anniversary. Ordered two glasses of Napa CA Cabernet (we think Napa has the best Cabs), tow side organic salads and split the pork chop. The Cabs were really good. The salads were great! The walnuts, Gorgonzola and dressing were the perfect combo. The ciabatta bread was ok (not a lot of flavor). The pork was cooked perfect and presented well. It was yummy. The black currant sauce was very good. The mac and cheese was also very good (bacon and jalapeño). We aren't big fans of cooked spinach, but it was also good. Highly recommend. Our server was awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals!

We had found ourselves on a waitlist at some "fried stuff with cheese" restaurant down the street, which nothing at all looked appetizing to me so I vetoed. Got on Yelp, found 636 well rated nearby and the menu looked wonderful. Got here to a healthy amount of patrons and warm ambiance/atmosphere. Service was great despite me being an annoying tourist. I tried every dish we had plus the hot rolls, which have a buttery pimento dip. Everyone agreed that the food was spectacular. Of all the things to love about 636 (which there are many), my favorite is that when I mentioned our anniversary to the lady, she said "Oh! I'll get the anniversary confetti!" Hilarious and endearing. I love Durango already, and 636 made such a great impression. Thank you!

We were seated on the patio and it took quite a while for our server to greet us. Once she did, she brought water and took our drink order. She returned with our drinks and said she would be back to take our food order. We had plenty to talk about while waiting, but she repeatedly walked past our table to attend to other tables without stopping. Eventually, I had to stop her and let her know we were ready to order. My wife and our friend's wife both ordered a pasta dish with sliced steak and spinach. My friend had a salad with salmon and a bowl of soup, and I ordered the filet with potato lasagna and spinach. As the evening went on, it became breezy and chilly. I asked another server if the patio heater could be turned on, and someone came over right away to help, which we appreciated. When our meals arrived, everything looked excellent and tasted very good. The food was definitely the highlight of the evening. Unfortunately, our server only stopped by our table once during the entire meal to check on us and it was lien she was in a rush to leave to table. We spent a long time waiting to see if she would ask whether we needed anything or if we were finished. It wasn't as though she had to go out of her way to reach us--she walked past our table numerous times while serving her other tables. Because of the lack of attention, I once again had to get her attention to let her know we were finished and ask for a dessert menu. I ordered the Dubai Chocolate dessert to go after she highly recommended it. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the description once I had a chance to eat it. The chocolate flavor was very mild, and the crunchy layer on the bottom was not particularly enjoyable nothing like a Dubai Chocolate. Overall, the food was excellent and deserving of praise. However, for a fine dining restaurant where both the food and drinks come at premium prices, the service fell well short of expectations. Great meals can make for a memorable evening, but attentive service is an important part of the fine dining experience, and unfortunately that was missing during our visit.

First, the service was good, considering you had to wait in line to order, it went fast, then when your meal was ready you had to go up and get it and anything else you needed. So the cashier was super nice and so was the young man that cleared our table when finished, so that's the service. Excellent ambience for a nice day to eat outside. Clean tables, and no bugs to bother us. Plenty of room for kids to roam and you are able to bring your dogs. That's a plus! The reason I refused to give them a 5 was their food, which some was good some not so good, sure did not look like the pictures online. We had 4 people, 3 of us each got a different type of burger, the Green Chili burger, the Bacon Blue Cheese and the Bitty burger. Each burger's patty was overcooked and the Brioche bun, which drew me to the burgers I expected to be soft was extremely tough, very thick and dry... so in combination of the overcooked patty and the tough, not soft, bun it was not something I would want to order again, I ended up just taking my patty off the bun and not eating the bun, Very disappointed. My husband and son enjoyed the Roc fries with lots of ketchup, but again overcooked and dark. Some may like it that way. But not a fan and will pass on those next time. I would like to go back , maybe we went on an off day. If I go back, I will try something else as my son tried the BLT on the Focaccia Bread and he said it was excellent!

The restaurant is tiny, a narrow shotgun type unit in a building along main street. We managed to get one of their five tables and were promptly served drinks and time to look over the menu before ordering the Country Benedict. My coffee was kept filled as we waited for our order. As soon as the plate hit the table, I knew that even though the owner had changed, the spirit of the place remained. The plate of food was massive; more than the two of us could eat. The plate included two halves of an excellent biscuit, half of a large sausage patty on each, an over easy egg; all smothered in country sausage gravy. The other half of the plate had a mound of beautiful browned hash browns. Enough for four people or at least two very hungry people. It was glorious and nostalgic. The flavor was everything I wanted it to be. If you are in or near Durango, please consider giving this true old diner a try. Thanks to Greg, the new owner, for continuing Gary's recipes and hospitality.

We stopped in for breakfast when we didn't realize there was an art festival going on in the city of Durango, so we expected it to feel crowded, busy and rushed. They found a table for us right away (part of that was lucky timing on our part), but provided great service.... Answering all of our questions and asking where we are from and overall friendly service. We all ordered the breakfast burritos and it was better than what we expected. I highly recommend the green chili sauce they smother the burrito in.... It's super tasty! And in the end, the price was lower than we expected.... So, great environment, great food. 5 stars! I would be happy to come back to this one!
