At the time I went they had all their slabs in a warehouse, very well lit with what seemed to be fluorescent lights. Despite this, the colors seemed natural. They have a wide variety of slabs, mostly in the higher price ranges. I'd say about 10% were level 1 slabs, the rest were exotics. Some of the exotics were really so beautiful it's a shame they're fated to be cruelly torn apart and made into countertops, they would not have been out of place framed in an art museum. After having visited several other slab yards and revisiting them, I think that they have a better selection of more exotic exotics - real blues and greens, for example - than other places. Also, looking at some pictures I took with custom white balance on, I think they've taken some care to make their fluorescent lighting show the natural colors of the slabs, rather than just using whatever standard industrial fluorescent lighting there used to be. Now, I would visit this place first so you get a good idea of what's available. Unfortunately, you do have to visit a bunch of places as well - it's really true that each slab is unique, so even slabs that are recognizably the same type may have patterns/inclusions that make you hate or love them. read more

Please DO NOT use Encore. They will lie to you about the stone they're selling you and then do nothing about it after the fact. They sold us "quartzite", which is supposed to be very tough, scratch-resistant, and non-staining. What we HAVE is slate, with quartzite pieces in it(~10% of the stone is quartzite). Slate is VERY soft and VERY absorbent. We've had a fabricator and two different stone sealers who all have told us it isnt quartzite. Encore's response is that their records say it's quartzite, they will not come onsite to look at the actual stone, we would have to pay for a geologist to prove it, and to kick rocks. read more

W have to admit that we find it very off-putting to go to a granite yard and be told that I can't be told the price of the granite; only my fabricator can be privy to that information. That is why we found the transparent pricing at Pacific Shores Stones (PSS) so refreshing. At first we were looking at quartz. I don't know about most people, but I can't really visualize what my kitchen counter will look like from a 2"x2" piece of Silestone, Cambria, etc. Every kitchen shop or yard we went to told us we couldn't look at a full slab. Go to PSS, they have full slabs of virtually every quartz product. After we checked out what we thought we wanted in a full slab, we decided we didn't want quartz. That's when we consulted with Ben Henderson at PSS about Quartzite (which is a natural super dense granite). He showed us around, was incredibly helpful and patient. He made it a great experience. He was thorough in the explaining the various qualities of the different stone. In short we can recommend PSS and Ben Henderson without reservation. read more

We bought two slabs of exotic granite at Pacific Shore Stones three years ago for a kitchen remodel. At that time, I spent six hours at three different granite yards with our interior designer and found slabs that we liked at a different company -- until we found out the price (through our granite fabricator; none of the granite companies will tell the customer the pricing). Extremely expensive. So we went to Pacific Shore Stones and found even more beautiful slabs of the same type of granite (crema bordeaux) for half the price of the other granite yard. We're now heading over there to buy a slab of yellow river granite for a bathroom remodel. Didn't even look elsewhere first this time. And I agree with the reviewer who said that some of their exotic granite slabs are so gorgeous that they look like artwork. You just have to stop and stare. Two in particular were so stunning that I had to tear myself away -- unfortunately, neither had colors that would work in our bathroom. We're working with Rebecca this time, and she has been very friendly and helpful. I'd recommend anyone wanting to see a large selection of granite at reasonable prices to head to Pacific Shore Stones. Wow, PacShore goes the extra mile on Customer Satisfaction so att First of all, we never liked the 'secret' deal that stone suppliers and fabricators have that build in extra profit for themsleves buy not telling you the cost for the stone. We LOVE the fact that PacShore is the only stone company we've found that is utterly transparent on their prices and in effect cuts out the middleman's padded profit. We saved over $1000+ over estimates we received over other quotes. Next, Ben our consultant at PacShore was so attentive and helpful in helping us pick our Caesarstone Quartz. We bought during their 20% off summer sale and just now finished our install. Long story short, we needed to change our quartz to a larger size that was not available. One call to Ben and we had a solution. We were able to swap our Caesarstone for (even more beautiful) PacShore quartz, and PacShore took back the Caesarstone even tho it had been purchased months before - and had been CUT by the fabricator! Who does that??? PacShore did it for us and we now have our dream kitchen. I've never come across a company that valued our outcome as much as we did. We can only say to others wondering how to get their often stressfull remodel completed - PacShore will do whatever it takes to make it as stress-free as possible. Pacific Shores has a great selection of granite and marble. It is located in a warehouse which is nice to protect you for the heat in the summer or cold in the winter. Friendly staff is knowledgeable. They also have a large selection of Quartz which is nice since that is a growing request from homeowners. read more

Environment: Friendly and Comfortable The Austin location has an extensive selections of beautiful stones including solid surface slabs (Caesarstone, Neolith etc.) The stones are organized by category (marble, granite etc) which makes it easy to navigate. Sales Team: Friendly, Knowledgeable, Honest, Accommodating, and Fair We worked with Ben Henderson at the Austin location. Ben explained the layout of the store, and directed me to stones that met the color palette specified. He gave me plenty of time to look through their inventory on my own, and I never felt pressured or rushed throughout the entire process. I finally narrowed my selection to 3 different natural stones. Ben answered all my questions, and took time to explain the maintenance and care for each stone. In the end, I was able to make an informed decision. We were a couple months out from installation, and Ben informed me that it would not be a problem to store the stone at the warehouse until we were ready. I decided to move forward and purchase the stone, and the pricing was fair and transparent. Excellent Customer Service: Extends beyond the sale I contacted Ben a month after purchasing our stone, because we needed a remnant for our shower. Note: Pacific Shore Stones does not have remnants. I purchased my beautiful granite from Pacific Shore after visiting several granite yards in Austin. I was impressed by the variety of granite they had to select from (I chose "Volcano Blue"), and the fact that their granite is all displayed outdoors in natural light. I thought their customer service was great too; when I entered the granite yard someone almost immediately approached me to ask if I needed assistance, and to offer me a clipboard and selection sheet for notes, etc. She also offered me a list of granite installers and provided me with some recommendations, which was very helpful! read more

I recently worked with Lee when a kitchen remodeling project went off the rails. The Silestone I had picked out cracked during fabrication and I desperately needed to find a slab quickly. After making the rounds of a half dozen slab yards I found a number of excellent choices here. I ended up selecting a quartzite but appreciate that Lee offered me a number of less expensive options that would have all been solid choices to complement existing granite. It is great to be able to tour a well-organized wearhouse and get pricing on the spot. The multi-day delay in receiving pricing information that occurs elsewhere is really frustrating because you may fall in love with a slab only to find out it's way outside your budget. I felt I paid a fair price. One word of caution to any slab-shopping newbies: These things literally fly off the rack at all the stone yards. You might find something you like and it will be sold in a matter of hours to someone else. Be prepared to put slabs on hold and make up your mind quickly. read more

At first they appear to be organized and carry a good inventory. However buyers please BEWARE this Company claims to only sell to fabricators which in short this is their way of absolutely blocking themselves from any liabilities. In my opinion this Company DOES NOT have any protection for consumers. In my case the fabricator I chose(found him working in their show room, so how much more of a reference does one need) had many issues with them, but they never warned me nor tried in any way to not facilitate anymore fraudulent behavior from him. In the end I lost several hundreds and was left with an demolished kitchen...all they said was sorry that happened to you. read more
