When installation day came the crew showed up right on time. They didn't give us a four hour block of time that we had to be there for like some other service oriented businesses. Our floors were installed only 2-3 years ago and are now cracking throughout our home. We paid to have the floors leveled as part of the installation, another contractor immediately noticed areas that weren't level and explained why the floors weren't holding up over time. Looking back, there were concerns during installation, including a suggestion to cut over six inches off a door to accommodate an issue with their work. They did come to understand why we were not willing to do that and we were grateful for that. We trusted that we were paying for quality workmanship, especially from a company that specializes in flooring. It's unfortunate to now be dealing with these problems after such a short amount of time. We've reached out about our concerns and never received a response.

I hired Eliab of The Good Tile to remove our 90s bleh kitchen floor tile, remove our backsplash…read moretile, and install over 300 square feet of new flooring tile plus new backsplash, and extensive accent wall tiling in the backsplash tile. My new floor tile has a pattern, and the backsplash tiles were 2.4" x 8" ceramic hand glaze ceramic tiles, and so neither would be easy to install unless the tile installer was very skilled. I thought the review photos on Yelp showed Eliab already has an extensive body of work done well, and I loved that he specializes in tile so I knew that he should be very competent at it. And he and his guys Salvi and Rafael were excellent! They worked hard and did very precise work. That was a ton of cuts and joints to line up perfectly with all that subway tile, and it looks wonderful. The cuts around light switches and power receptacles: also precise. He was as good as his word about showing up, doing it right, and cleaning up as they went. He earned my trust, was good to work with, and I would happily hire him again. I definitely recommend! I will post pictures for now as is - but keep in mind the construction is still going on so they will not look as great as they should. I was not satisfied with way the master bathroom tile in the shower and floor turned out. Big gaps in the grout and against the floorboards, no apologies, and just excuses. Also, wasn't happy that I didn't receive the vanity we discussed-- I requested a floating vanity and was told that was what I was getting, but that is not what was delivered. The workers left a pile of their meal garbage in the work area each day and left garbage from the work they did scattered throughout the front yard. Such a mess! I expected better time management. They started my job-- but then I guess they have other jobs that were deemed more important so my project dragged on much longer than expected. Since the real estate market was so volatile, I believe the delays costs us money when we were finally able to get the house on the market. I also expected the Rojas Family Tile would handle payment processing in a more professional manner. Asking me to lie on PayPal or Venmo by stating this was a "friends & family" transaction is not a professional business practice. Processing fees are part of your business expenses-- I know because I have run several businesses. Hopefully, things have improved with Rojas Family Tile since we used them in 2021. But based on my experience with them, I wouldn't recommend them.

I was a design-builder for ten years and know a thing or two about houses and construction. My wife…read moreand I had to refinish an existing concrete slab whose original coatings from when we built (2007) had failed from the get-go, getting gummy and gross and melting anything made of rubber. Concrete polishing came into its own around 2009-2010 in the Austin area, and I really liked the option because it avoids coatings. Jason came highly recommended from a larger firm I knew about that focuses on commercial floors, and Jason helped us respectfully and honestly through the whole process, start to finish. Because it was the whole first floor of our house, we moved into a nearby HomeAway rental while Jason went to work. After a busy week of hard work, Jason delivered 1200 square feet of diamond-polished concrete on a slab that had never even been designed for such treatment. It has served us well for six years now and is by far the best floor surface I've ever lived on as far as durability, ease of cleaning, and day-in, day-out good looks. It's not a fancy floor, just a super-practical one that blends into the background when supported with nice rugs and furniture. The upfront cost, while not cheap, was comparable to laying hardwood, which would not be a practical choice on our main living floor. And the smooth, matte-finish, exposed aggregate we now have ought to last indefinitely. I recommend Jason and AllStar unhesitatingly. We love our diamond-polished slab concrete floor with the exposed aggregate and gentle luster.

I know, like you, I did not think they could get any worse..so so very wrong. I just lifted my couch to see that the safety gliders- you know the round things on the bottom of your couch used to protect your floors?- I now have FOUR HOLES in my floors where the gliders were. The floor has actually crumbled away completely in the exact shape of the protection gliders. It is clear and obvious that the overlay material the owner used must be incredibly cheap. We know dozens of families who all have concrete floors and not one of them has had the crumbling and chipping issues we have. Please, for your own sanity, use any other company- avoid this one at all costs. **** 1/20/2011 So a year later....we have lived with the floors for a while now. We are still having scuff issues but not as bad since we switched to a matte wax (per the owner's recommendation) as opposed to a high gloss. Still having major chipping issues, just found several more in my kitchen yesterday. The over all too dark, too reddish and splatter marks are for obvious reasons still the same so there isn't anything that can be done about that. Unfortunately, the samples he made us on 4x4 tiles were thrown away so I cannot include a picture of them for comparison. They were a medium tan color not reddish in the least. Which as you can see from the attached pictures, our floors are very RED- which we specifically asked to avoid....and they are very dark, which we specifically asked to avoid. You can also see from the attached pictures on my account page, it is pretty impossible to determine the finished color once the stain as been laid down but not yet blended. The problem with this is, the stain is already laid down so there isn't anything else you can do- you really have no idea what the end result is unless you do this as a living...which we don't. The owner responded that we lived 45 mins from town so that is why he was late every day. He would leave each day and tell us what time he would be back for the next day...our house wasn't moving overnight, not sure why he was still over an hour or more late every day. What time he arrived is pretty insignificant in the whole realm of things. Our issues are the overall color was nothing like the tan sample (and as he said, he can't really control that tho other contractors have said that is not true) and the fact that the floors are not holding up to normal wear and use. If one of my kids accidentally drops a fork it guarantees us yet another chip. It's so disappointing to pay a lot of money for floors but now have to constantly baby them.
