Some aspects of the workmanship appeared rushed, and based on our experience, I would recommend exercising caution with detail-oriented tasks such as wood staining, drywall, painting, or door hardware installation. Not how I imagined this would work when I hired an expensive designer. Also, we just discovered Komal's contractors who installed our sink/kitchen faucet didn't cut out sufficient space for the faucet collet. So now the whole thing has come loose and is falling over, I paid Stand Brothers to find out that they can't fix it until I hire someone to cut into the drywall and open up the correct space. Frustrating. I didn't think I was paying for cheap work but here we are.

Cutco knives are made in the USA to last, and the Cutco company believes so strongly in its product that each knife is "guarantee forever" including free sharpening. What?! Until recently, I did not have Cutco knives but, just as I was contemplating an upgrade of my kitchen knives, my sweet Mom gifted me with the set she'd had for years but no longer used. Did the guarantee convey to a new owner? Were these older knives (circa 1970s) eligible for free sharpening? What about the French Chef knife that had a chink missing from the blade? Could it be fixed? When I called the Cutco Kitchen in Rollingwood (in the shopping center where the Post Office is) the answer to all my questions was, without hesitation or question, "yes." I took the knives in today and the experience couldn't have been better. It's a small shop but has a very wide array of Cutco products: all the knives, kitchen utensils, spices, gardening tools, and other handy household items. Although there was only one sales person present, I was the only customer so I had her attention immediately. The sales person examined each knife and found one that had a broken point, which I had not noticed. They would mail it and the damaged French Chef knife to the company for any repairs or replacement. The other knives were sharpened at the shop. I brought my non-Cutco knives, too, because they only charge $5 per knife for sharpening. This took about 10 minutes or so, more than enough time for me to pop by the USPO and Great Harvest Bread Co. where I got an amazing loaf of bread (but that's another Yelp review). Their process is to call me when the replacement/repaired knifes are ready for pick-up, which should be about 10 days. Yes, the Cutco products are pricey but I believe they are worth it. My Mom used her Cutco knives for about 50 years before passing them on to me and I suspect they will be around long after I no longer need them. In Cutco's case, you definitely get what you pay for.

Once we submitted a drawing of the top to be produced it took 4 days to have the finished countertop ready. It was small and the shop guys loaded it in the pickup for us. I really liked their customer service and the high quality of their cabinets. Unfortunately, as my house was getting close to completion, I flew in to meet in person to work on the kitchen project and they quoted me $66k now. I understand prices are increasing during the pandemic but not nearly triple. It looks like on top of the price increases, they may have counted the wrong number of cabinets needed for the project. I tried to work with them cause I wanted it to work out but ultimately, I would have had to make too many sacrifices to fit the budget such as not doing some upper cabinets and doing open shelving instead. In making these edits, they could get it down to $45k, still double the original quote and with too many sacrifices. If I calculate cabinets, counters, GC work, etc, the kitchen would be well over $100k. For that price, you should just go with a fully custom kitchen company. If I wasn't building a new house, building out a big pool and deck and all these other incredibly expensive projects, I would have liked to go with UB, but their pricing was more than I think I'd worth for semi custom

You do not say one thing in public and in private say "I didn't really mean that." Ido is upset this negative review and would like it gone, but is unwilling to apologize or be truthful. I'll be updating all my social media reviews according. You'll notice that there are a sudden rash of bad reviews, not just from me. Do business with this guy at your risk.] I have tried to use this company twice. Both times, appointments were easy to set-up and Maria (not sure how to spell her name) was kind, helpful, and lovely. I had a minor flood and needed a company to work with my home insurance for the repairs. "Together Design" was one of four contractors I consulted, all with excellent reviews here and on Google. Avri the project manager was courteous and helpful, and was the last estimate I needed for the insurance company. I waited some weeks, but an estimate never came. I finally called the Avri's phone number on the caling card he cave me (I think I woke him up, sounded groggy at first). Avri said that my expectation for an estimate was misguided, and that he's being doing this job for quite a while. He said that the way "Together Design" works is that they only provided an estimate once I hired them. I said this is backwards, that I am to receive estimates and select the company I felt comfortable with in consultation with my adjuster. Avri stared to make excuses, none of which addressed my concern--that to consider them, I needed an estimate. I found his customer service quite rude: he kept cutting me off, he would not listen, he was defensive, made excuses, and so on. He stressed his experience, to which I responded three other contractors have already provided estimates and I was waiting for his. Avri said estimate-first is not how they do business, but he would get an estimate to my adjuster ASAP anyway. After a few days without an estimate, I went with another contractor. Maria called to follow up, and I told her my issues. She asked if I could give them another chance, I said not at the time, as time was of the essence and I needed the work to start yesterday. Disappointing, but I was ready to move on. Flash forward five months later, and I haired a crooked contractor who I am now unfortunately suing (cannot review them yet until that suit moves forward). I remembered Maria asking if I could give them another chance, so I decided to call again. Like the first time, communication was clear, easy, and Maria was very easy to work with. I was asked if I wanted to work with Avri again, and I said absolutely not given how poorly he handed the first time. Days later, however, I received a phone call and Maria said she was "calling with news." After she shared with the project managers my videos and photographs, they concluded my "scope" of my project was "not a good fit." I asked if it was "too small" or "two large" of a job. She said, "uhhhh . . . legally I can't say." I found this quite odd. She apologized, expressed wanting to help, but it was not something they are willing to do. I asked again why, and she would not say. Perhaps it was because I did /not/ want to work with Avri, but another PM. As I was about to post this review, I received a message from "Ido" who said their company /only/ takes on remodels from "start to finish." This was the first I have heard this excuse, it's certainly not mentioned in their advertising. If this were truly the case, I should have been told this upfront so I did not waste my time again. Maria asked I give them a second chance, and I did. This is a private business, and it's their right to turn down any client. Absolutely. It's also my right to report my experience. I'm trying to be careful not to be too judgement, but not being "legally" able to tell me why they wouldn't take the job the second time appears deceitful, as does "Ido's" explanation they /now/ only do start-to-finish remodels. Your milage may vary.
