The stickers that might have had the info we're all sunbleached and unreadable. I finally gave up and ordered something that doesn't match. Not how I imagined this would work when I hired an expensive designer. Also, we just discovered Komal's contractors who installed our sink/kitchen faucet didn't cut out sufficient space for the faucet collet. So now the whole thing has come loose and is falling over, I paid Stand Brothers to find out that they can't fix it until I hire someone to cut into the drywall and open up the correct space. Frustrating. I didn't think I was paying for cheap work but here we are.

Cutco knives are made in the USA to last, and the Cutco company believes so strongly in its product that each knife is "guarantee forever" including free sharpening. What?! Until recently, I did not have Cutco knives but, just as I was contemplating an upgrade of my kitchen knives, my sweet Mom gifted me with the set she'd had for years but no longer used. Did the guarantee convey to a new owner? Were these older knives (circa 1970s) eligible for free sharpening? What about the French Chef knife that had a chink missing from the blade? Could it be fixed? When I called the Cutco Kitchen in Rollingwood (in the shopping center where the Post Office is) the answer to all my questions was, without hesitation or question, "yes." I took the knives in today and the experience couldn't have been better. It's a small shop but has a very wide array of Cutco products: all the knives, kitchen utensils, spices, gardening tools, and other handy household items. Although there was only one sales person present, I was the only customer so I had her attention immediately. The sales person examined each knife and found one that had a broken point, which I had not noticed. They would mail it and the damaged French Chef knife to the company for any repairs or replacement. The other knives were sharpened at the shop. I brought my non-Cutco knives, too, because they only charge $5 per knife for sharpening. This took about 10 minutes or so, more than enough time for me to pop by the USPO and Great Harvest Bread Co. where I got an amazing loaf of bread (but that's another Yelp review). Their process is to call me when the replacement/repaired knifes are ready for pick-up, which should be about 10 days. Yes, the Cutco products are pricey but I believe they are worth it. My Mom used her Cutco knives for about 50 years before passing them on to me and I suspect they will be around long after I no longer need them. In Cutco's case, you definitely get what you pay for.

I met with Abbie and she was soo unbelievably kind, helpful and patient with me. She spent so much time reviewing options and pointed out that there were natural stones that were at a similar price point. (At the end of our meeting, she said "I know you're going to get a natural stone!") She gave me some stone yards to go look and she was right - I fell in love with a stone and it is my favorite part of my entire remodel. I can seriously look at it for hours. Once I picked the stone, Amanda scheduled an appointment to determine the layout of the slabs. She knocked it out of the park! I can't believe how beautifully they fit together. She also said I had quite a bit of stone left and suggested that I use it on another vanity. So glad she did because I love my stone and it made the prefab vanity look way better! When the cabinets were in, Chad came to do the measurements to begin fabrication. They stick to their schedules and I appreciate it so much! Install went great and I am so happy with the final product. Key Points: 1.) Great people that you are happy to give your business to. 2.) Transparent pricing. Matterhorn came recommended from my wife's boss, and that put them over the edge as far as hiring them. They demoed our old kitchen, removed soffits and outfitted the kitchen for new cabinets. They demoed our old tile floor and installed the new vinyl plank flooring. Then after our cabinets and counters were installed, they assisted us with our appliance outfitting. As with any home renovation project, there are snags and problems along the way, and they worked through them with ease. I've heard so many horror stories of people having nightmare experiences with contractors during home renovation projects, but I can safely say you won't with Matterhorn. Do your research and read the reviews - and hire Matterhorn for your next project. We will be having them back to do our bathrooms here in the next year or so.

I really liked their customer service and the high quality of their cabinets. Unfortunately, as my house was getting close to completion, I flew in to meet in person to work on the kitchen project and they quoted me $66k now. I understand prices are increasing during the pandemic but not nearly triple. It looks like on top of the price increases, they may have counted the wrong number of cabinets needed for the project. I tried to work with them cause I wanted it to work out but ultimately, I would have had to make too many sacrifices to fit the budget such as not doing some upper cabinets and doing open shelving instead. In making these edits, they could get it down to $45k, still double the original quote and with too many sacrifices. If I calculate cabinets, counters, GC work, etc, the kitchen would be well over $100k. For that price, you should just go with a fully custom kitchen company. If I wasn't building a new house, building out a big pool and deck and all these other incredibly expensive projects, I would have liked to go with UB, but their pricing was more than I think I'd worth for semi custom

However, in September 2025 the shower tiles started popping out of the floor. I texted them and they had to come in and replace it. Okay maybe it was a one-off. But then less than a year later, by April 2026 the *replaced* tiles started popping out again. I tried dealing with it myself with tile glue, but other tiles kept popping out. I texted them again in August, and this time they said that they stand behind their work for only one year from the original project date, and I need to pay $1200 if I want them to fix it. Notice that it hasn't been 1 year even from the replacement date. It's really not worth it. Go with the slightly more expensive contractor they will do the job right once and for all.

Because of the scope of the project we had a few hiccups along the way but our project manager, Sahar, was always ready to work with us to make things right. We enjoyed working with them so much we went ahead and had them redo our siding on the entire house as well and were pleased with the outcome.
