I called Joseph 'Max' Maxwell at Tile & Grout Solutions and Max was came by the next day to look at the problem and quote a price. Max and his assistant were back a few days later and -- after two and a half hours of work -- we had a 'like new' shower. Max has years of experience with tile and it shows in his work. I wanted to give everyone a warning not to make the same mistake I did…read more I hired a company located in Smithville called Tile and Grout Solutions, owner is Joseph Maxwell, to work on a house we have in Bastrop. The tile is only eight years old, tile was in good shape, no broken tiles. However, the home was rented and we had some loose tiles in the high traffic areas, missing grout and overall dirt. Joseph Maxwell came and looked at the home and said he could fix the problems. He told me he could "save the floor" and basically that it would look like new again. He also told me that he had been in business for forty years and "this is all I do". He charged $4300 to do approximately 1200 square foot. I told him that sounded high, and he said that it was a lot less than a new floor. Well, that was true, it was about half of the cost of a new floor. I needed to get the work done so that I could get the home rented, so I decided to go ahead with the work. Well, take a look at the photos. This is what the tile looked like when he was through with the job. Does that look like a new floor to you? Does it look like he re grouted the floor at all? The other contractors who were working on the home fixing things and painting are all of the opinion that it doesn't look like he did much of anything. In some ways, it's worse than when he started because they chipped some of the tiles when they drilled holes in the grout to put adhesive under the tile to secure them. I had to pay someone to go in behind him and clean and stain the grout. I sent him texts with photos and told him that I am not happy with the job and neither is my new tenant. I want a refund of at least part of what I paid him. Crickets. He never answered at all. Next stop is legal action. So my advice is, STEER CLEAR OF TILE AND GROUT SOLUTIONS AND OWNER JOSEPH MAXWELL. I have a feeling that the five star reviews on here are not actual customers. I can't imagine him doing a good job, and I have personally spoke with some who posted here. The experience was the same as mine. Very shoddy work. UPDATE: We have been paid some restitution by Tile and Grout Solutions for the poor quality work. We were paid the money we had to pay the guy who went in behind them, and we were paid back for the sealant that was part of this tile job. Because what was the point of sealing this grout? So we settled for those amounts being returned.

The quality of the work they did on the flooring was wonderful, the stairs however were a mess from the start. It wasnt communicated clearly how the stairs would look, I'll take half blame for that as I should've asked more questions. We had them back to remove the stairs they did and paid to upgrade to wood stairs. The quality is fine, but far from impressive. They had to redo the landing 3 times because they accidentally stripped the stain off it twice when they sealed it. At a glance they look fine, but a minute or two of looking will show sloppy work, risers and treads that don't match, trim that is several shades darker than the floor, risers or treads. If you have a one story home, I'd recommend this company. If stairs are involved, look elsewhere. Photos attached.

We couldn't be happier. The Camilas Flooring crew arrived a few minutes early, examined our water…read moredamaged hardwood flooring in a bedroom and the pantry and went to work immediately. As the work progressed they constantly used a shop-vac to capture bits and pieces of the old flooring removal leaving the area to be replaced clean and dry in short order. Larger pieces were removed from the building as they were excavated from the concrete foundation. We were amazed that the work was accomplished so quickly and without dust or grit scattered in the work areas or the paths used to remove debris from the two work areas. The new flooring planks were cut and placed for an exact fit and when ready they were installed with little noise and no dramas. We were totally surprised how little time was needed to complete the project. Every last bit of debris was removed from the site at the completion and it felt more like magic than the difficult job that they completed in such a short time. Not anymore, power as it were, now rests in the hands of the people. I needed 3 things; A dumpster rental, a quote and information regarding getting said dumpster to my house. So I turned to Yelp and used the quote system and at the ended up with about four quotes. But I had many questions, and Danny was very quick on the response, quoted me a fair price and allowed the dumpster rental for 20 days which was a BIG plus for me. Did I mention he answered my questions promptly? Look, I have dealt with the murky depths of contractors and callbacks...not a good time. Danny shattered my expectations and what's more, on the day of the delivery I had to check status of the dumpster due to working from home that day and having to be on a conference call I could not leave. Danny got back to me in minutes, contacted the driver and had the driver quote me an updated delivery time which I was able to coordinate with my schedule. Imagine that? Working with MY schedule...Great Job Danny. Bottom line, call Danny and see what I mean. We had a slab leak that had to be repaired and…read morererouted through our ceiling, and in the midst of that we found out we had a leaky shower pan and a LOT of water damage. Danny came out and gave me a quote that was detailed, fair and easy to understand. We ended up having to rip out most of our master bath. (The shower floor, half way up the shower walls and an entire wall down to the studs.) I also had a few other projects around the house that I kept adding on, and Danny never minded and always reworked the over all costs for us. They patched the sheetrock in the ceiling and a 6 other places in the walls, completely re-sheetrocked one wall, demo'd our shower, finally sloped the shower floor correctly (it never drained properly before!), matched the tile/grout seamlessly, installed a new vanity, reinstalled a vanity in the guest bath correctly, fixed my back door, built a banister and took an old nasty crawl space under the stairs and helped me turn it into a "hidey hole" for my son. Having a one year old and going through a home renovation like this was stressful. Danny and his guys made it so much easier. They talked to my kid, waved at him, kept their work space as clean as they could during a demo..They were even respectful of nap times! We have to redo our siding on our house soon and Danny is the only one I will be contacting. No other quotes needed.
