I had no issues with purchasing the carpet, it was just as I ordered. However, I am extremely disappointed with the installation. Others have said that installation is everything. I agree. The carpet appears as if there is gap between the carpet and the baseboard - this is everywhere. It was improperly tucked along all walls. There are also places where the carpet was trimmed too much and appears gauged out near some corners the wall, Just terrible, and probably can't be fixed. I will be calling a carpet repair company, and this is for newly installed carpet. The carpet was high end and very thick, so the seams really should not show or show very little.. The seams are actually quite noticeable. I will never use this company again, and very unhappy with the installation. I strongly recommend not to use this company, or at least do not hire their installers. read more

Right now they're scheduled to come back out to my house to restretch the carpets a 2nd time. If the wrinkles still don't stay away, the next step is for ACO to make a claim with the manufacturer, Shaw. These guys really care about their customers. David's been extremely proactive in getting this figured out. If the carpet does end up needing replaced in another 9 months or so, I'll most likely roll whatever reimbursement I get from Shaw into a higher quality carpet from ACO and keep my business with them. A tale of two... First, our salesperson Phillip was great and helped us find a good product and worked with us on fair and reasonable price. I would highly recommend him. The installation process was a different story. The first installers were the worst. Didn't show up on time, didn't show up at all on some days after repeated contact, and left large exposed seams in some areas. The owner was made aware and did everything possible to make it right. Another installer came out, ripped out some of the other guys work and fixed what he could. He was very professional and did great work. I am very appreciative of the company's effort and dedication to their customers. The second installer did what he could, but we still have areas that don't look great because the first installer simply cut the carpet wrong. I would definitely buy from this company again, but I would pay VERY close attention to the installation process. read more

We just bought our new carpet from America's Carpet Outlet and had a good experience. Having first visited the big box stores and gotten a quote for a midrange "pet-proof" carpet and installation, we headed to America's Carpet Outlet to see if we could find something similar for less money. Roosevelt met us on the warehouse floor and asked us a few questions about what we were looking for and then showed us multiple carpets that might suit our needs. When we told him the history of our cats-with-carpets, he steered us toward a particular type of carpet that he felt would do well in our situation. We liked the carpet, so we arranged for one of their installers to come out a couple of days later to take measurements in order to get an accurate quote. The installer, Antonio, arrived exactly on time and was very pleasant and professional as he went through the house. We talked about a couple spots that would need extra time to fix up before the carpet could be laid, and then he wrote a quote for the installation job (it's not included in the price of the carpet and pad) and noted the square yardage we would need. We met Roosevelt back in the office a few days later. He had Antonio's measurements and his bid on installation. We gave him the bid and yardage estimate we received from the big box store. He looked it over and handed it to the owner, Dave Pratt. Together they worked out a price for our carpet and pad that beat the price of the other store. We shook hands and paid for the carpet and went home, pretty excited to know we would finally have a good carpet in the house. Unfortunately, the evening before Antonio was due to install the carpet, Roosevelt called to let us know that Antonio was unable to do the job as one of his team wasn't available. This put us in a real bind! It wasn't possible for my husband to get any other days off and I wouldn't be able to move all the stuff by myself. Roosevelt told us he'd see if he could find someone else. About an hour later he called us back and said Joe and his team would be there tomorrow and would do the whole house in one day and would accept the bid Antonio gave us. Hmm. In ONE day??? With all this furniture? And that large patch that had to be done in the concrete? I wasn't too sure that could be accomplished, but we agreed to give it a go as we really had no choice at that point. Well, Joe and his crew came at noon. He was surprised that there were no tack strips down and said he would have to go back for more. He was rather vague about the necessary patch in the hallway, but I decided to trust him. They worked hard and fast and stayed until nearly 7 p.m. but they still had one bedroom and the hallways to go. They said they'd finish tomorrow, and they showed up that day, again at noon. Thank God they had cut all the carpet pieces the previous day, as just after the crew arrived a horrible thunderstorm broke loose and flooded the area outside where they had been cutting carpet the day before. The crew worked all day and got it done. My husband helped them put most of the furniture back in place and they cleaned up the area very well. Joe asked that I write the check out to someone else, which I thought was strange, but I did as he asked. The carpet looks very nice! There are some small scuffs on the walls and trim that happened while they were moving and installing, but we expected that and have the paint on hand for touch ups. Even though it was absolutely pouring rain, the installers never got any muddy prints on the new carpet. I'm so grateful for that! I would definitely buy carpet from America's Carpet Outlet again. Every person we dealt with was very pleasant and respectful. That matters a lot to me. We shall see how the carpet and installation hold up over the next decade. With any luck, we won't need to worry about new carpeting in our remaining lifetime. I deducted one star because: 1. The installer who originally gave the bid wasn't the one who ultimately did the job and that created problems for the new crew. 2. We were given very little notice about Antonio not being able to carry out the installation. 3. I had to write out a check to a different person - and I don't know why. 4. I wasn't given any written warranty on the installation. From previous reviews, I can see that Dave Pratt cares about his customers and stands behind his product and business. That gives me confidence in knowing should there be any problem, he will take care of it. read more

I have to admit - this place really is as good as the reviews state! I went in this Monday, met with Roosevelt (Beau) & picked out a few different carpet choices/samples to take home before making the final decision. Roosevelt was really helpful and made the process really easy. After choosing two different carpets I liked, we went to his office where he wrote down at the different pricing (for carpet & padding). Within an hour of leaving, I received a call from their installers who came to my house that afternoon to measure! You pay them separately when they complete the final job, but the quote for that was also very very reasonable. I called this morning after we decided on the carpet, made the payment over the phone to ACO and scheduled an install date (next Tuesday) with Joe and his carpet installation team. I initially went to America's Carpet Outlet during the spring of 2012 to get remnants for the room in which my foster babies were 'potty training themselves'. Prior to laying down the carpet, I realized a concrete floor would be best. I rang the shoppe and explained my predicament. Without hesitation, I was allowed to return my purchase and receive 100% credit -- with a pleasant smile. My lease expired 31 December 12, [a horrible time of year to move -- even more than 'just moving']. I went to the store with a sample, to purchase carpet that would match that which was installed on other floors. David recognized me and greeted me by name when I came in !!! He led me directly to what I was looking for. His knowledge of 'builder grade' and approximate age of the carpet were quite impressive. Arrangements were made to have the carpet installed -- for the following day !!! Jamie Perez arrived on time, was ready to get to work and did so. If there are any 'seams' in the carpet, it would be impossible to tell. Outlet typically implies 'cheap'. The company is based in a warehouse with no 'bells or warehouse'. However, carpet is visible from the moment you walk in the door. There is no 'wait time'. Prices are extremely affordable. The service is extraordinary. We could have had the carpet installed the next day if we would have been ready. David and his wife are such nice folks. I really felt like I traveled back in time to the Austin of 20 years ago that I used to know. They are so friendly and down-to-earth, while at the same time really knowing what they are talking about. David helped us pick a great carpet and then he set us up with Dante, the installer he works with. Even though I already had measurements from Lowe's, Dante came out and took his own measurements. Turns out his measurements were almost 50 square feet less than Lowe's. So I had to buy less carpet than I originally thought! I scheduled my date with Dante. He and his crew arrived early on the agreed upon date, they moved all of our furniture, installed the carpet perfectly, carefully moved all the furniture back, cleaned up, and hauled off all the old carpet, pad and trash. First off great carpet, fair price. I gave these guys an estimate for carpet square footage to get a rough price. When I was ready to buy, I asked to remeasure my house because I wanted to make sure their was enough on the roll for my home. They never came out and the guy assured me it would be fine with my estimate. Well, I was short and the installer told me it was going to be more because of additional seaming to "make it work". Honestly I had no problem paying him because he did an excellent job and it wasn't his fault. However, when I contacted the carpet store and told them that I felt they should pay half of the the additional fee only $50, they never got back ??? Too bad because were moving and I need more carpet. Update... The owner personally called me and explained he wasn't aware of the situation. Roosevelt at the store was great - pointed out what we needed at a reasonable price and explained the process. A couple of weeks before our desired install date, I called them up and paid for the materials over the phone. On install day, I got a call from the main team leader, Joe, an hour before they arrived. They got the entire upstairs area done in one afternoon and it looked great! But my carpet was gross in my house... over 10 years old and who knows what the funky prior owners did on it. He listened to what I wanted to get and what I was looking to spend and sent me home with several carpet samples. He also connected me with Richard one the carpet installers that they refer installation to. Richard contacted me ASAP and came out to take measurements. I selected the carpet I wanted, paid for the carpet over the phone with a credit card, and got an install date. Easy as pie to set up! Richard was awesome throughout the whole process! He communicated everything with me and he and his team showed up on time the day of the install and rocked it. They were so professional and nice and did such a great job. I stumbled upon this company on Yelp. I figured that with so many 5 star ratings that I should check them out. They had a great selection in a wide price range. I was replacing carpet prior to putting my home on the market. I chose a builder grade. Home Depot had previously come to my home to measure and give me a quote. $4500. America's Carpet Outlet, $2,900 (we reused the pad because it was in good condition and it worked in my budget. Didn't want to spend too much since I was selling the home). George was the sales associate that assisted me and Richard and his 3 man crew did the install. Couldn't have asked for better help or an easier process. I really don't think you can beat them on price, customer service or turn around time for install. I will never use another big box store for flooring as long as these guys are in business and I don't think any other mom and pop could beat their prices. After only about 5 minutes of perusing the (wrong) isle, not realizing I was in the most expensive section, Roosevelt came over to see if he could be of assistance. I told him our situation, and he immediately steered me in the right direction, showing me my options, and patiently waited while I texted photos and received emails from th' boss. Left happy and with carpet cut & loaded in about an hour's time. The place is affordable and friendly, with lots of options. I don't completely agree with one bad review I saw prior to checking this place out. One must exercise judgment while being given their options, and not hold the rep accountable if they settled for a lower priced option that turned out to be just that. We bought middle tier, and that's what I expect. As an adult, I took some time to examine the quality myself while there. I will live with my decision. Lastly, you don't want to talk to the loading guy though. He's definitely not there to offer customer service. He sort of stormed over, and told me that we'd just have to wait (never expected him to drop everything). After that, I just hoped he wouldn't purposely make us wait longer on principal, since it seemed we'd stepped on his toes by ordering. Overall, GREAT PLACE! read more

What more does one need. Much better carpet prices than installers who try to bundle carpet and installation in one price. Pad is cheap too. They know what they're doing.
