I was replacing the carpet upstairs with laminate flooring and planned to install hardwood treads on the staircases afterward. I already had all materials prepared. I completed about 20% of the flooring myself, and all stair treads had been carefully stained and clear-coated. Due to my busy work schedule, I hired Keith to finish the rest of the project. Here are my observations. The flooring looks decent but has several visible gaps where the planks join. Most are smaller than a credit card's thickness, though one is wider. Overall, the flooring work was only average. The staircase installation was much worse. One step has a large gap between the nose and the riser, and one tread was dented. The clear-coat finish--which I had spent a significant amount of time staining and applying--was also damaged. The staircase work showed a clear lack of attention to detail and finish quality. In addition, Keith parked his leaking truck on my driveway without placing anything underneath to catch the dripping oil and did not mention it, even after seeing the cardboard I had placed there. His communication was rude and unprofessional. If you care about workmanship, finish quality, and basic respect for your property, I strongly recommend hiring someone else. I was looking to have laminate flooring installed in a bedroom that I use as an office. I had previously had Lowe's install laminate floors in another bedroom and master. Went to Lowe's and picked out flooring, had an estimate. Was a lot more than what I expected from the flooring previously installed (2021) Started researching a contractor to install the floor I wanted. I went with K and K Flooring due to the positive reviews. Keith came out the next day after making contact with him. Professional and honest when I showed him the floor sample I had from Lowe's. He said, " ma'am, I'm not trying to sell you an upgrade product, but vinyl is better." Explained the difference. He brought samples in the color range I was looking at. He said, " it doesn't matter if you choose my product or someone else's product, I will install it." He warned me about a certain business that I was also considering for the flooring, which I appreciated. He sent me an estimate in a timely manner. He scheduled me about 3 days out, which was fine. I had to reschedule by a day and it was no problem. Keith kept the communication all of the time. Let me know when he was on his way, which is appreciated since I work from home. The installer was Kareem. Very respectful, courtesy and professional. He knew I was working across the hall and let me know when it was going to be noisy. I am so pleased with K and K flooring and definitely recommend them. Sent pics to a coworker and he loved the color of floor and the job they did. We had Keith work on two of our homes over the same period. I won't go into long detail, other than to say that he is not capable of leveling a floor and installing vinyl properly. They did ZERO preparation of the subfloor. We had areas of the floor moving 2-3" up and down while walking on them. Keith had a million excuses why using self-leveler wasn't possible. Funny, every other flooring company said self-leveler would be part of any job they did. It's a shame Yelp won't allow me to upload videos, because it's astonishing how much movement we have in every room of our home. Keith pressured us into hurrying and making the payment once the job was complete, before I was even able to see the floors in person. It's no mystery why. The photos here are the result of THREE attempts by Keith and his crew to fix things. He finally had told me good luck if I don't want to let him tear our house up for a fourth time. Steer clear. Unfortunately, the level of service we received from Keith and his team was not professional. We hired him to do a full house flooring job. The house is from the 60's and some of the floors needed to be leveled before the wood was laid. This wasn't something he made us aware of and laid the wood over the flooring anyway. I've had to hire another team to come out and fix his work. Floating a floor properly is well within the realm of jobs a flooring professional should be able to do. Even after providing Keith this feedback him and his team just made countless excuses for their poor work. They left tile spacers in the grout, chipped wall and counter tiles, poorly installed baseboards and quarter rounds and left hand prints all over the freshly painted walls. When pointing out a crooked tile job, one of his men said, "We'll you'll eventually have to tear all this tile out again anyway". He talked a good game at first but was unable to deliver.
