Even though Joe did an excellent job installing the floor, there were some minor things I didn't like. In some spots, the QR had small gaps and didn't connect fully. I hope this can be fixed when I paint the room. I also notice the transition strip in the office (by the entrance of the house) was composed of two different pieces that varied in color instead of one solid piece. Joe left a bag of trash in my house instead of taking it with him. Since my house was a mess I was able to use it for some of the trash I had laying around but in all honesty l don't think he should have left it behind. We love our floors though. They look so much better than the old worn carpet. Joe came in time every day for 3 days and got to work without bothering us. I wish we could hire him again but I think we're done with floor renovations lol. read more

If you are looking to get flooring put in, Joe is the man to use. He just finished a 2100 sq ft project at our house and we could not be happier with the final product. We had received quotes from a few companies, most of which were way higher priced and then tried to play games to get your business. Joe started the exact day he said he would, had the whole project planned out (which took 8 and a half days given the size of the project), and finished exactly when he said he would; which might sound like a little thing, but for anyone else who has had work done on their house knows it is not. What a great experience all around we had with Joe. From the get go he was helpful, polite, responsive and honest. Joe just came and installed the flooring in my house a few days ago and I have nothing but excellent things to say about him and the service and quality of installation he provides. I originally bought my flooring at Costco almost a year ago with the intent of doing it myself. I was only going to do the flooring in my living room as the rest of my downstairs is all tile. I didn't think 350 or so square feet would be an issue. The more I read about installing this, the less I felt comfortable doing so. I called a few places recently and of course if you aren't buying the flooring from most stores, they won't do the install for you. The few that will want an arm and a leg. So I turned to Yelp and searched around and Joe was by far the highest rated installer in my area. He was also the cheapest as well which can sometimes be a catch 22, but in this case, was not :) I called him twice for an estimate and then to set the appointment. I had already purchased the flooring, t-moldings, and quarter round trim pieces and had also removed the carpet and tack strips in my room so all he had to do was show up and install. I did have an issue with wanting to be sure my surround sound speaker wires were run to the back of the room and he took extra time to ensure that I was pleased with his work in this area and that they all were routed as I wanted. All in all he was at my home from 9am to 5pm and was finished completely at that time. I'm sure he would have been quicker had I not needed the extra work for the speaker wire and the various questions and conversations he and I had over the course of the day. I have had two family members and 4 friends have flooring done in the last month using other installers and they have all already seen our floor and commented on how much better it looks. Not so much the flooring itself, but the little details with the trim and how everything fits just so and the attention to detail. I'd bought some laminate for various areas of the house and while the basic rooms I was able to do myself, I decided it was worth the $ to have someone else do the stairs as they can be a bit tricky. Joe did a great job and was very understanding when it turned out there was a snafu leading to not having enough stair nosing when the job was nearly complete, and was willing to wait and come back to finish after the additional nosing had arrived even though it left a gap in his schedule. I can't say enough nice things about Joe. As a person, he's very friendly, informative, interesting, polite, and helpful. As a businessman, he's professional, efficient, courteous, hardworking, fair, competitively priced, and ethical. I'm in my third trimester and I was desperate to find someone who could install a difficult type of hardwood flooring before the due date. After being turned down by 3 installers, I finally found Joe through Yelp. Joe made time for us and was able to complete the job efficiently and with great quality. When confronted with complicated and almost impossible problems, he used his creativity and ingenious to find cheap solutions. For example, we had a sticky tar adhesive spread on our sub-floor which produced a very loud crackly noise with every step. Instead of telling us that we had to rip up our sub-floor, or pour concrete, he used baby (talc) powder to buffer the sticky sound. You can't hear any crackling at all when walking. Joe was able to come up with a $10 solution to what could have been a very expensive problem. We love this guy! I would strongly suggest him to any friends or family who need someone to install hardwood floors. read more

The Owner/Installer Joseph Vitalo (Joe) did a great job at a reasonable price. I purchased the wrong type of flooring initially. It was cheap stuff that would not last long or work well for the area it would be installed. He educated me on some of the different flooring types and helped me make a decision on the final product. He texted me prior to arrival to let me know he would be 5 minutes late due to traffic. It was refreshing to have a contractor that was on time and actually cared about being on time. My previous experiences with contractors have not been so lucky. They have always been late. Usually by a couple of hours or longer. AND they did not communicate they were running late. I had to keep calling them. He did not try to upsell me things I did not need or tell me it would cost more than his estimate. Another thing that has bothered me with contractors in the past. He is nice, friendly guy too which definitely helps. He also is a big dog lover like I am! :) I highly recommend Joe for your next flooring project! read more

I was telling a good friend of mine that we were going replace all of our carpet with about 1800 sq ft of Shaw laminate flooring that we were purchasing at a great price through a membership we have. My wife thought we could do it ourselves, but I did NOT even want to attempt that. I needed to find someone to install it. My freind said you need to call Joe! I called Joe who came out and discussed our plan with us. He had no issue installing the flooring that we weren't purchasing from him. He made some great recommendations and provided us a quote for the install that was honestly considerably less than I expected. My savings on the flooring purchase actually covered the cost of Joe's installation which was awesome. Saved my back and kept the wife happy with the cost. Actually I would probably still be installing flooring. Joe was all that the others have said, friendly, personable, professional, just a great guy who knows his stuff and is easy to talk with. Since we had so much flooring to go down we knew our lives would be pretty interrupted for a couple weeks. Not to mention getting all the furniture and stuff out of the way somewhere. Joe was able to break the install up into two separate projects with a week in between. This was great, because it allowed us to get half of the house cleared out and he came in and laid all that flooring in a few days. Then we were able to get those rooms set back up and clear out the other half for Joe to come back and finish the rest of the house. This REALLY made our lives much easier through that install. I called after a week and he said the estimate would go out that night. A week later MORE and still nothing. I even left a voicemail. No return call. So I can't give a review on the QUALITY of service but if they can't even send out an estimate then it concerns me about how efficiently they'd do the actual job. A couple of months ago I hired Joe based on trviews etc. I met him, we chatted and he gave me a price, 17 steps, a long 25 foot 7 foot wide foyer and a mediq room with a large xloset, plus molding etc. It replaced carpet etc. He charged me $47 thousand dollars, So ne being a gluten for punishment just hired him again to do the fownstairs, this time going over dated ceramis tile and older engineered hardwood. LR. foyer, K, MBR, DR and Laundry room. This time he is going to charge me... you guessed it, $47 Thousamd. So I hired him....All joking aside this guy is an artist with a chop saw and mitre block, Sinply excellent work, fastidiously on time and a great guy.
