I'm a little late posting this review, as usual. I called Joe up to finish the cork floor installation that I had started myself when I figured out I did not have time to do all my projects and still get my work done. He came out the same day and wrote up an estimate on the spot. Based on Yelp reviews and his very fair price, I hired him without calling anyone else. Joe showed up at the agreed upon time the next day and got right to work. He would have completed the job in one day, too, had it not been for my underestimating the amount of flooring needed. Once we had all the materials, he finished up the floor and the baseboards (he even installed baseboards inside the kitchen pantry) and it looks beautiful. And he cleaned up the work area in the garage quite nicely. The one imperfection (two, actually) was in the living room where the walls are not perfectly straight--so since the baseboards hugged the walls they looked "wavy". But to be fair, I didn't notice this right away and so didn't get a chance to point it out to Joe. I think if I had, knowing what a good guy he was to work with, that he probably would have fixed it, but it's a minor issue and I just fixed them myself. I was happy with the flooring and extremely happy with how fast he got it done, and to top it off he helped me figure out what kind of moldings would look best with the floor. I'll definitely hire him again for my next project. read more

Without a doubt Joe provides some of the highest rated customer service anyone could ask for. Joe went out his way numerous times to make my flooring installation a success. Check this out: 1) Due to indecisiveness on my part, it was more than *2 months* from the day I had him perform an estimate that he actually performed the flooring installation. During that time he remained very patient with my long and frequent lists of questions and always provided valuable feedback in a courteous manner. 2) His estimate was over a thousand dollars less than those that a couple of the big box stores gave me. 3) He showed up on time every day and performed the installation very carefully. I was a little worried my new interior paint would get scuffed or damaged during the flooring installation somehow .... nope, not a single mark. To top it off, he also did a thorough clean up afterward. 4) Despite informing me waaaaay in advance of how much shoe moulding I'd need, I procrastinated and was only able to get about a 3rd of it due to stores only carrying so much in stock. I was a little worried about causing a scheduling problem if we had to spend the day hunting down the final material, but after informing Joe of the issue on the last day of installation, he kindly said not to worry about it, and that he'd find the material we needed. Not only did he find it, he drove out himself to pick it up for me! I admit to dropping the ball here, but Joe came through in a way that wasn't necessarily required of him; but he did, and now I'm enjoying my new floors as I type this vs. having to wait another day for completion. I'm extremely pleased with the entire experience, and of course the installation. My floors look great. I'll certainly seek his services again in the future. read more

I highly recommend ATX Flooring Installation. ........ I was installing new flooring in my home. I finished the back half then got burned out. Got an estimate from one of the big box home improvement stores for installation. They charged me for the estimate and wanted more to install it then I paid for the material. Found Joe on Yelp and gave him a call. He came out same day, gave me a free estimate which was significantly less than my first bid. Had him do the work and sooooo glad I did. He did a great job! We had an entire floor of carpet we wanted to replace with wood. Joe was very helpful in finding the right wood and referred us to a company in town to buy it. He replied to all our questions during the choosing process. We had to wait two weeks for his schedule to clear but he was able to come to remove the carpet earlier than expected. On the actual day of installation, Joe and Brian arrived on time and ready to rock. Even with horrible uneven floors, they were able to work their magic and install our beloved acacia floor. Whew--Joe saved us some major time and effort. I purchased some cork floor for about half of our house and we intended to install it ourselves. When push came to shove, I knew that was not a good idea. I called Joe based on Yelp reviews (thanks, Yelpers) and he gave me a very reasonable estimate. He came each day on time and knocked the job out quickly. The floor looks great. I'm so glad I called Joe because when he was done he had ONE usable plank of cork left. If we had done it ourselves, we would have messed up a bunch of planks and would have had to order more. Our house would have been ripped up for weeks! Joe and Brian recently replaced the flooring in pretty much our whole house (bar bathrooms and part of the kitchen) and we could not be happier with the work they did!!! Our floors are beautiful! We had a particularly tricky room that had 2 exposed limestone walls (used to be exterior walls) and they did a stunning job undercutting the stone to lay the floors - rather than just cutting the boards to make them fit. We are so thankful for the work they did. Also important to note that they were super easy to work with especially as we shuffled furniture around our house and great at communication and keeping us in the loop. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews! I called Joe because I had some damaged floor in the middle of a room, and half the floor needed to come up in order to replace the bad planks. I left a message on Sunday, got a call back first thing Monday and had him come out for an estimate. We talked, agreed on a fair price, and the work was done that weekend. No issues at all, floor looks great - cleaned up after the work, all was good. If I have an install job in the future, I'm calling him. Thanks! read more

We recently purchased a home which had absolutely horrible carpeting in the living/dining/hallway. We knew we needed to replace the flooring and knew we wanted laminate, but didn't think we could afford it. I found ATX Flooring had great reviews on Yelp and contacted Joe. Joe suggested locations to find inexpensive laminate and was able to work us into his schedule for the one week time frame we had prior to moving in. He showed up on time (even though he had to drive from North Austin to Kyle) and worked diligently for 3 days to get the job completed. His price was more than 25% less than the other quotes we were given. He even gave an extremely reasonable rate when we added additional baseboard/molding work at the last minute. I was already aware of Joe and ATX Flooring because my brother had used them a couple years ago and was very pleased with their service. This new job was a laminate install at my Mom's house. His rate was $2/sqft. For a low respectable fee, they ripped out the carpet and disposed of it accordingly. We had to move the furniture but that's pretty much an industry standard (to avoid liability, the work in general, etc). We also had to procure our own material but that was preferred so that we could get our own quotes and choose the best cost etc. As our scheduled date approached, Joe notified us that he'd had some delays in other jobs and needed to push ours back several days to a week. Because we'd fit them into our personal family schedule, rescheduling another week was going to cause us major issues. So Joe called one of his crew who was supposed to have some days off and they came over first thing in the morning on Saturday and Sunday to knock out the job of about 600 sqft. They did a fantastic job of putting the flooring down in three (3) bedrooms with closets. Granted, we made their job easy by having the three bedrooms completely void of furniture etc. We'd also removed the baseboards ourselves in order to sand/re-stain them, and them reinstall them; this was likely a huge help to them. read more

I read tons of reviews on yelp when looking for someone to install our laminate floors. I came across Joe and he had such great reviews I decided to give him a call. I spoke with him on a Friday and he was very nice and asked if I could send him an e-mail with my contact information so he could come out and measure on Monday or Tuesday. Well, I never heard from him and e-mailed him letting him know I had chosen another company and still never got a response. Maybe he does great work but if he can't return calls/e-mails that's a poor way to run a business. read more

He no showed, no called on the first appointment. When I contacted him about blowing me off, he didn't even apologize for his bad manners. Then after two vm and an email never submitted an estimate after the second appointment. Got a recommendation for another vendor who did a beautiful job. Joe recently installed approximately 1200 square feet of flooring in my home. His prices were very reasonable and he is about the only contractor I've found that shows up when promised. He responds to phone calls and emails in a timely manner, which is also a rarity. He accommodated my special requests without complaint and made extra trips back to our home for touch-up work. We finally made the decision to invest in wood flooring for our entire house. The guy we decided to go with put in half the flooring and then left never to be seen again!
