We had been wanting hardwood floors for years and talked with owners Rob and Cindy several times, but never could manage it. This year we ended up buying a fixer-upper and flooring was essential, so back to Butler Floors we went. We did lots of research and they were extremely knowledgeable and helpful with our many questions and we finally decided to go with engineered hardwood and carpet. Our house is older and wonky, with a number of structural issues that have popped up. The floors were uneven and we had layers of vinyl and tile that needed to come up. Additionally we have a full wall fireplace and I was concerned how the wood floors would look against it. Rob quickly came out to give us a bid and assured us his team could handle all the weirdness. They were able to get started within a couple of weeks and worked quickly. They did a beautiful job laying carpet in the bedrooms, floating our floors and laying the hardwood. It looks amazing against the fireplace. After, his team cleaned up impeccably. The floors were everything I'd dreamed about for years. It's worth noting we also looked into Home Depot floors and installation and Butler's quote was only a little higher. But I absolutely think it was worth it for a higher quality product and expert installation. I had Butler Floors install wood laminate at my home over the holidays and I couldn't be happier with the results. They were so helpful throughout the process of choosing the flooring and installation. I must say the Mannington wood floors look pretty dang beautiful. However, and this is nothing to do with Butler Floors, I miss my carpet. My home has become somewhat louder and different. I cannot put my finger directly on it, but it is definitely a big change. I have always had carpet in my homes, apart from the stained concrete renovation I did on a house many years back. So, it may take a little getting used to. Their installers were very efficient and precise. Many of the rough cuts around doorways and such were perfectly done. I opted to have them paint the shoemold, which ended up being an additional $210. There is an option to do this yourself and I think I should of done so myself, since they knocked that out in less than an hour. I guess you pay for being lazy.. :) Just two little dings in my experience. One was, there was almost a full box, about 90%, of hardwood was left over as "attic stock". That worked out to be at $8.79 about $200 bucks in excess.. this very well may be standard in getting floors done, but I wouldn't know. It is for repairs etc. The second was after the work was completed and I emailed them that the floors looked great, I got a response that I would receive my final invoice in a few minutes. A couple of days later, I emailed them to remind them that I hadn't received the final invoice. The next day I did get the invoice and the following day a phone call asking for payment... or as I was reminded it was the end of the month and they were calling everyone who owed them money. It was an awkward moment. I only had the invoice for 24 hrs and was certainly planning on paying it once I fully reviewed it. Kind of left with a feeling that I got a call from a bill collector for a bill presented just 24hrs before, which I had to remind them to send to me. Notwithstanding those two issues, they do extremely good work. The floors are "delicious" as my Suzie and friends who have seen it. They have a great deal of options and stand by their work. I would definitely give this local business an opportunity to work with your budget and flooring needs. read more

You won't read another review quite like this: I found Butler Floors on Yelp after reading their reviews. Rob, one of the owners, came to my home for an estimate to tile our shower and floor. During small talk while he was taking measurements, I discovered that Rob hired me to work at a restaurant where he was a manager way back in 1991! I remembered Rob's commitment towards investing in people who had potential and a solid work ethic. In fact, I was one of those many people that benefited from it. I knew I wanted to hire Butler Floors after remembering my experience working with Rob. This decision payed off big time! The tile in my bathroom was masterfully done; the job was completed quickly, efficiently, and cleanly. I strongly recommend Butler floors for tiling and flooring. Well, the lady that answered the phone was quite nice, but the fact that this company won't do flooring work in my building because "the installers just don't want to work there anymore?" That's both absurd and unprofessional. I get that the building I'm buying into has a good few rules and regulations that have to be adhered to. I also get that such rules and regulations may be viewed as a challenge when installers are used to working without many (if any) restrictions elsewhere. BUT, for that to be an excuse to not provide me with service? Again, see sentence two re: absurd and unprofessional. Frankly, it's easy to follow rules and regulations, you simply have to be make yourself aware of them. If this is beyond your installers' abilities or interest, maybe your company needs better installers? Or maybe you simply need to make yourself and your installers aware of any/all building regulations ahead of time, to preempt any possible challenges and to make things run as smoothly as possible for everyone involved. After all, such rules/regulations are put in place to protect the interests of all parties, not just your company. The fact that the rejection came from Rob (via text to the aforementioned young lady) makes this slight all the more offensive. The interpretation being that "My installers desires outweigh my (potential) customers needs." In my opinion, that's no way to run a business. BOTTOM LINE: This company may receive great reviews, but depending on where you live, you may not qualify for their service. Seemingly, the customer's needs are secondary to this company's desire to avoid building-specific rules and regulations. Regarding Cindy Butler's 12/14/2016 response: I did NOT call for a tiling bid, I called because I wanted an estimate on flooring. I was told in no uncertain terms that this company's installers did not want to work in my building (by Cindy apparently) and that was confirmed by Rob Butler as mentioned above. In addition, I did ask if tile that the previous owner had added to a small wall on a kitchen bar could be removed and replaced. This work does not require any special equipment (particularly not tile cutters). It requires hand tools that can be used in any location, and Cindy stated that the company does do this work. So..it seems Cindy Butler is adding to both the absurdity and lack of professionalism of this company, because she responded with inaccurate and misleading information. read more

Just purchased wood flooring from Butler Floors and couldn't be more ecstatic! I have to admit, I think my house looks pretty sexy. Rob and Cindy are a great husband and wife team. This place is family owned and it feels exactly that way. Friendly, open, honest and welcoming. I spent probably 3-4 months asking many questions, sending many emails, being very indecisive (big surprise!), and picking up/dropping off many floor samples without any complications. Rob and Cindy were always very responsive, patient and helpful to all my questions and concerns. Cindy even sent me numerous client pictures of the wood floors installed to give me an idea of the look of the wood and the different variations wood sizes (5 inch, variable widths). They do installation work too, which honestly I regret not going with them (the work probably would have been finished quicker with less mis-communication and pricing issues, lesson learned..to be saved for a different review), but would not hesitate to return if I needed more flooring material. 5,000 thumbs up for Butler Floors! Oh and btw, I also did my research on the pricing of the wood I bought from Rob and Cindy and they were by far the lowest price, quadruple bonus points! read more

Spectacular! After visiting two big box stores, and have both of them mess up the quote, I found Butler Floors on Yelp. (The Yelpers NEVER let me down.) I visited the website, sent an email in and visited that same Saturday, even though they are technically closed. The owner was there doing some paperwork and could not have been more helpful. We ended up choosing a dark, hand scraped maple. The installation crew is fantastic, they are friendly and keep the work area as clean as humanly possible. The quality of the install met even my high standards. I love it when I find a vendor that really delivers. I'd be friends with these folks and they are my flooring company as long as they are in business. 5 Stars really isn't enough to express my pleasure with the entire experience from shopping, quoting, on-time install, the crew, the quality of the product and the installation, and the attention to detail. A++++. Tips: Cover your smoke detectors with plastic wrap on the day(s) of install so the saw doesn't set them off. Cover things like TVs that are wall mounted. Pack up little stuff. I rented BungoBoxes to store my things while the house was being remodeled, I cannot tell you how happy I am I did that. Things are safe and dust free and they deliver and pickup the boxes. (See my review for BungoBox.) This small investment of time makes everything go much smoother for everyone. Please folks, skip the big box stores and give the local businesses a try. My personal experiences with Butler Floors are yet another testimony to how wonderful this locally owned business is. I was time constrained to redo the flooring in my master bedroom and walked into the store with a few ideas in mind. I worked with Cindy to narrow down options and she not only made sure I didn't miss anything good in the showroom, but also that I knew what was on sale. I really appreciated that she was conscious of both my tastes and my wallet. When it came time to install, Rob (Cindy's husband and co-owner) was there to make sure the install went smoothly and ensure I was satisfied. About 2 years after the floor was put in, my house cleaners damaged the wood floor. The install crew were hardworking and very conscientious to assure none of my belongings were damaged when being moved.
