So I'm dropping down to one star cause 0 stars isn't an option. After much research, I've discovered the installers flat out lied. The raised sections of lvp will not be "settling in", they were cut at such an inconsistent gap that it's tight to the wall in some spots, and showing subfloor past the floor board trim molding at others. The only way I can get ride of the raised areas that seem to "slap" the subfloor when walked on is to pull off the moldings and cut a better gap where it's to tight. I will NOT be using this company for the next flooring project. I will not even have them back to fix this situation. Over 2 grand for floors and THIS is what I have now- I'm honestly scared of what new flaws will arise as time goes by... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Keep looking for someone more local, who's more concerned with the end result as opposed to another paycheck. Also, empire, if you read this- your dang call center is awful and rude. They keep calling at all hours of the day, AND NIGHT! I'm getting calls from these jerk at 9:30 at night! Just to take your little survey!?! Do you really want my feed back!? I don't think so. Had to block the number... I was being optimistic about this. But now, no. No. No. You need to revamp your mission statements, and perhaps include customers care and services, as well as better sub-sub-sub contracting out to better more professional folks. Who don't rush a job so they can call it day sooner & grab some lunch. So mad, so disgruntled and flat out p'd off. 2000$ is a lot of money for me, and was so excited about my new floors- been waiting and saving over a year for this. You crushed my little dream and left me something that just angers me when I come home, when I should be happy and relaxed... right? The only way you could make this right is pay for another company to fix it, so there's nothing you can do to make it right- i don't trust your contracted workers and therefore don't trust you- as they represent you.. People, stay away from this "big box" company, they are awful... and again, your workers represent you! And they don't seem to care who they have do their work- and yes the guys who come to your home are not employed by empire- they're contracted - or hired by empire to do the job... this company's not even located in Tucson. so disappointed. I've learned a lot from these guys, people learn from my mistake and go somewhere else with your business. I check around with local insured, bonded handyman... SAME COST. AND THE HANDYMAN BASE THERE BUSINESS ON WORD OF MOUTH! THEY CAN'T AFFORD TO CUT CORNERS (pun intended). read more

I am not one to write reviews. Yet, after a few days - I'm calm enough to share our experience. I feel the need to let others know of what we went through with Empire Today. We are looking to redo the flooring in our whole house. Mr. Mullins was fully aware of the large project and immediately began to try and take advantage of us. He was in our home for 2.5 hours - 1.5 hours longer than I had been told or thought it should take. He only brought in samples of the most expensive option of the material that I didn't even originally want. He took measurements and entered everything into his tablet. Nothing was shared with us...no details...no calculations...nothing. I asked if that cost included the big sale they were having and all he said was that it was. Absolutely nothing was shared to show this. I could go on and on with details of how I felt taken advantage of and played. But in short, his original proposal went down $6K once we indicated a decision was not going to be made that night. And another $4K when we said no again. A total of $10K less than what he originally proposed. Weird huh? And this was for a material that was much more expensive than I wanted but that HE suggested was best. I wonder how much he could have saved us on the product I really wanted. I would suggest never believing what they originally say. I actually will never call them or trust anything I read/hear from them again. And will most definitely tell everyone I know. If they would have been honest and willing to help us out with our project, they could have had a happy and wonderful customer. Instead, they took a very icky and dishonest approach. If that is how they do business, I wish them luck. read more

I called Empire Today, and scheduled a measuring appointment for my 400 square foot living room and 80 sq ft hall. The day of the appointment Robbie left multiple voice mails wanting to come early. After telling her yes and racing home early, so she could. She showed up a couple minutes past the regularly scheduled time. She was very angry. She preceded to tell me how awful my carpet, neighborhood, and dog were. She made fun of the fact that I have a dead bolt and a security screen. Then she brought four cheap laminate samples in and quoted me $15,000.00 for the very least attractive one. That was at the 50% off discount price. I kid you not. I explained to her that I've seen higher quality flooring for lower prices. I asked her what else she had. She told me I couldn't even get carpet for less than that. She would guarantee it. As she left the house she replied angrily Good Luck! and Buh Bye. Then she said sarcastically to have a nice day. I couldn't believe how I was treated by this woman. Needles to say she didn't make a sale. They didn't charge for the estimate however. The next day I called their competitor, and they quoted me $2,400. with a life time guarantee. The flooring is so much more high quality. I would not ever recommend Empire Today to anyone. Don't even waste your time calling this place. read more

I can't say enough about using Empire for my flooring needs. I set an appointment two nights ago and the representative was at my door the very next day. And the day after that my flooring was installed. Talk about professionalism i would never use anyone else again. The customer service is exceptional. The installers were fast and detailed. They sure knew what they were doing. I did shop around before i called them and yes the price was a little high but you get what you pay for. The quality of the flooring was better than home depot or lowes. And i was able to finance it. I have 4 years to pay for it at only 10% interest. That gives me plenty of time and doesn't blow my budget out of the water all at once. Plus it increase the value of my house so i will get it back when i decided to sell. Can't beat having a new floor with quality in a 7hour time frame. So if you need flooring i suggest you call Empire for it and ask for Robbie Dallaway she is the best. read more

I ordered my tile floors from the Empire Flooring store inside Paradise Valley JCPenney's store (it is no longer there) I dealt with Scott (manager), Erik & Richard from this store. My experience with these gentleman was great. Eventually I dealt with Dan (I think he's a regional manager). Then I had Omar and his team that did the actual installation. I do NOT have one negative word to say about how I was treated from start to finish. I was expecting problems after reading some of the reviews, but gosh, I did not experience anything negative (except the normal disruption to your home while work is being done). My floors look phenomenal. Omar & his crew worked non-stop. They started at 0700 and ended about 1800 every day...no breaks (non were smokers)...I saw them once take a lunch break about 1400 and they were back within 35 minutes. I also cannot thank Dan enough for his personal attention...that is customer service. read more

If there were a negative star button I would use -2 stars. I could not be more upset with this company. We purchased LVP flooring and were lied to on multiple occasions in regards to the product needing to be acclimated to our home. Sales person said it needed to be acclimated, the delivery confirmation people said no, the delivery person said yes. Extremely frustrating and caused a delay of two more weeks to get installed. (They did refund $350 for the delay of two weeks). The installers did a great job with the exception of one huge bump in the floor in my daughters room. I called for warranty service due to poor install and we were scheduled with the promise that two boxes of flooring would be delivered yesterday (Tuesday) for an install on Thursday. Guess what, oops forgot to order it and now yet another three day delay with nothing but a sorry and it needs to be acclimated when the guy last night said it acclimates in the warehouse again. This company should be avoided at all costs and I fear I am stuck dealing with horrible customer service for the life of the LVP flooring. Cant wait to deal with them for the next 40 years. They make promises and do not follow through on anything. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM AGAIN!!!!! They will take the $14k with no problem but will not provide any type of customer service. At this point I would like a 50% refund (minus the $350 already refunded). INCOMPITENCE does not even begin to describe this company's business model. read more

I called to schedule an in home estimate, the customer service representative was very polite and set up the in home appt for Friday between 1:00 and 3:00. I duly took of from work for a half-day to wait for the sales person. 1:00 o'clock rolls around, then 2:00, then 2:30.... well you get the picture. No one showed up or called. At 3:10 I call the 1 800 number, speak with a pleasant customer service representative who tells me the appt was scheduled but apparently never assigned to anyone. She then attempts to call the local office in Tucson AZ, and then I am cutoff. I dutifully call back-reach another customer service rep (also polite), again explain my situation, she also try's to call the local office and can't reach anyone...guess that shouldn't be a surprise since the local office couldn't be bothered to assign a sales rep to satisfy the appt in the first place! Bottom line-no in house estimate and an entire half day off work for nothing. Like many of the other reviewers, I will not be wasting my time or money on this company! read more

This might be an odd review, but I never received product from Empire. I came home from the hospital today and my yard, side yard, and courtyard were positively littered in business cards. Apparently Araceli Martinez from Empire Today in Phoenix was at my house and somehow got business cards all over my yard. I called Ms. Martinez. No answer. Called the mobile. No answer. Waited. Called several more times. No answer. Called the office and got customer service. Oh, I got someone there, but you could HEAR him rolling his eyes as he told us he GUESSES he can call her but he doesn't see what anyone can do. I told him he can have Ms. Martinez come pick up her cards. He was obviously not impressed as he couldn't bring himself to pay attention to the call. We asked him is he was still there and he said yes, but he just said he'd give her a call. No solution, no apology, no explanation. I read the reviews on this place and I just want to say, everything they said about their customer service is correct. I don't know about their prices, but I own a General Contracting business and the prices I've seen people say Empire quoted them are absurd. Oh I know, I'll end up picking up all the cards sick and tired from chemo, but at least people know that Araceli Martinez doesn't care a tinker's damn about potential clients and Empire doesn't care about anything else. read more

My husband and I were looking at new carpet and after some other experiences, we called Empire Today and made an appointment for the next evening. Cory Pfister came out on a Thursday evening. He brought samples and we picked out the color that we liked. It was in stock and we scheduled the installation for that Saturday. When the carpet came, it was a much lighter shade, so we called Cory. We interrupted his workout , but he came back to our house after sending us a photo of the large sample by text message. When he arrived, you could tell that he was annoyed that he had to come. He called his boss and put him on speaker phone and had him try to smooth the color by explaining dye lots to me. We accepted the carpet but were told that if we were unhappy, in a couple of weeks, it could be changed. That has been several weeks ago, and we still feel that the color is lighter than we picked. The installation went smoothly, except that the seam is very visible in certain spots,..we have had no customer service follow up at all, so I am writing here as that is what Cory had asked us to do. He also knew that we were considering other flooring and window treatments, but I guess he wasn't really interested in that. Carpet is just ok, but poor follow up . read more

Great experience. I requested an appointment with a sales rep to discuss replacing the carpet on a staircase before the holidays and received a confirmation quickly. He showed up with several options in several price ranges for me to examine and choose from. Although the price was very reasonable, I wanted to think about it a little bit. He didn't pressure me at all and just said to give him a call. Within a couple of hours, I called him back to set up an appointment for installation. He came back to my home and we signed the paperwork, and when I asked nicely, he even gave me a price break. I even later requested the addition of pup pads for the padding and it was easy. Customer service confirmed the appointment and kept me appraised of the arrival time the day of installation. They showed up in the window given. The installation guys were polite and fast, and did an excellent job. It looks beautiful and they cleaned up after themselves very well. I also got a call from the rep afterwards, checking to make sure everything went well. It couldn't have gone any better. read more

I would NOT recommend this company. First of all I scheduled an estimate in which the person didn't even show up so I called customer service and they said they'd call me back in 30 minutes or less. NEVER got a call back. I called the next day and decided to give them another chance so I scheduled another estimate. The representative came and gave us an estimate to do 1925 sq ft of tile. We are selling our house so we chose the most basic tile, and after all this guys math he completed his numbers and slide his IPad across the table and I about fell over. $43K!!!!!!!!!!! is what the quote read. I laughed at him so he said "wait I can apply some coupons" so he does that, bringing the quote down to a grand total of 27k!!!!!!!! Are you freaking kidding me. Not only does their customer service suck but after giving you such awful customer service they try to rip you off. And now that Im reading all about the theft I better go home and go through my things to make sure he didn't steal anything. read more

This place is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. Trust me guys, save the headache and spend your valued hard working money somewhere elsewhere. I hired this company on a Tuesday and it took them till Saturday for an appointment, which they did not show up to. So I called the manager asking if they were coming out and she said they could come Sunday. Sunday arrives and I completely open up my schedule for yet another no call no show. So then the moved me to Monday (mind you I need this room done by Monday) and they come in, absolutely no greetings, just a sign the paper here please, and then they began working. As they were working I asked them just a simple question as to what the smell was and I got a smart ass comment back. These people have absolutely NO sense of professionalism and look like they were hired off the side of the road. I proceed to let them finish up their work and when I checked in again I noticed they took a short cut way out and lined the edge of the room with a plastic lining that in no way matches the baseboards. I was told they were going to drop the baseboards and clearly they took the easier way out. Now I have anything thing I need to do, by having to paint the baseboards to somewhat match the plastic shit they put around the room. PLEASE guys I'm serious, don't even give these guys an ounce of your business, it's a waste of time. I could have went somewhere cheaper, but I wanted to avoid any problems so I thought I could go with a well known company. Hope this helps and good luck to anyone choosing this company for simple floor needs.-- thank goodness I waited on getting my whole bottom floor of my house done by them! read more

My next day installation turned into a 13 day nightmare. I called Empire for their promotion and the fact they have been in business over 40 years. I can remember their phone number better then my own. On March 4, 2016 I ordered flooring for a 14x9 room to be installed on March 5th. I was called March 5th to be told I had to wait until March 7th. On March 7th only half the floor was installed because the installers were given 2 different size tiles. I was told they would go to the warehouse and come back. They didn't come back. Through a series of calls I had to make to the company I finally had an installation date to finish on March 15th. The installers came and the color run was lighter then the one installed. I asked if they could take up the first half and with the materials they had redo the room in the lighter color run. The installer went to his truck and discovered he didn't have enough to do the whole room he had 2 boxes of a completely different color. Again, I was told they would go back to the warehouse and come back with enough to do the whole room. They removed the first half of the laid tiles to match them at the warehouse. No one returned. After calling managers and waiting again I had installers come to put in the whole floor. They discovered at the end of the installation that they were 6 tiles short. Again, I had to call the manager with no return phone call about the 6 tile shortage. March 17th the installers came back and finished the tile but could not construct the threshold divider, so the job was not completed as ordered, reordered. I had to accept the installation as is without the threshold divider to get the job completed. read more
