Went here to celebrate a birthday with some friends and they did not disappoint. The service was very quick and on point. The server was helpful in explaining items on the menu and her suggestions were really awesome as well. Empire is located in the seaport which is a wealthier part of Boston located on the water. Parking is tough to find but is metered and free after 6 pm. If not you can pay 15-20$ in a lot. Once you find parking you'll be golden. The menu has lots of great food but can be a bit pricey. It is high in price but totally worth in the quality and quantity in food. I would highly recommend getting the scallion pancakes I could eat those alllllll night. The pad Thai and house fried rice were single orders but could easily be shared among 2-4 people easily. read more

A great spot for a birthday or celebration. They have awesome drinks I highly recommend "The Big Kahuna" it serves 4 so make sure to bring friends. The corn Rangoon was great for our friend with shellfish allergies and was just as delicious if not better than a normal crab Rangoon. The fried rice is huge!!!! We got the smaller size and still couldn't put a dent in it I definitely recommend splitting even the smaller size amongst friends. We had great service. read more

It is a very busy restaurant with amazing staffs, great foods and excellent atmosphere, definitely recommend

Unfortunately it was not good. The sushi just didn't have good quality ingredients. The appetizers were cold and just not of good quality. The house rice was decent but for $28 it is ridiculously high. The sesame beef was terrible, it was all batter and sugar and for $39 there was hardly any beef. Sorry to leave such a bad review but please Empire management regroup and please change to do high quality to match the high pricing. read more

whoever called this place a fusion restaurant should be in jail you are better off ordering Chinese food from doordash, im sure youd get more flavor. fancy looking not fancy at all... other than the scamming prices. wish i could go back in time and not come here. read more

The staff at the bar were very rude. They did not even wanted to read the international driving license ID, however the same ID was accepted by Encore!!! This message will be passed to all my family and friends in Boston not to go to this rude place read more

Highly recommend the appetizers, however, the mains fell flat for me. The scallion pancakes, lobster Rangoon, potstickers, and wings along with their dips were great. The noodles were a bit dry and sesame beef a bit overcooked. The vibe and ambience is also great and they have fun cocktails. The servers are very attentive. The mains are a bit overpriced for the quality. read more

Have given this place multiple chances and am just never impressed. Great for all you can eat and taking selfie's, but if you want quality food look elsewhere. Sushi is good. I'm not one to complain about the price of food, I'll pay for quality every time. However... Half way through my meal I only found a few pieces of tofu (menu says chicken, no mention of tofu), so I went digging for any chicken I could find. 3oz is generous. Maybe 3 bean sprouts. Couple pieces of onion so I guess that could cross of the "julienned vegetables". Very little taste. To see steak fried rice - with 10oz of sirloin - on the menu for only a few dollars more this is extremely disappointing. $26 for clumpy rice noodles. If you're doing takeout, stick to your local neighborhood joints and don't bother here. read more

Ambiance is great. Service great. Food is ok . The food is not what I'd call "elevated" but it was good. The drinks were good. You are basically paying for the atmosphere though. And what's up with the bar tenders stuffed into those corsets? They just look painfully uncomfortable and smacks of male corporate decisions imposed on the female workers. And does every single place in Boston need a HUGE TV with sports playing? It's not a sports bar. Be brave and get rid of the TV. read more

Went there a few days ago for my girlfriend's birthday and it was top notch. Of course the prices were a bit questionable but that was the whole point of going out to a fancy restaurant. Service was HORRIBLE. And, there was a MOUSE inside the restaurant climbing on the curtains.

Have been here a few times. Food is usually solid and drinks are bomb! The restaurant is beautiful inside.

A group of 7 of us came - and they declined our IDs claiming we they were not working in the scan. Crazy, because we were all over 21. Then the food started coming and the chicken was undercooked. We sent it back once and when it came it was undercooked again; and then the second time they were flabbergasted. Would never come back it is so bad. The restaurant is also a club and its just a weird vibe. Dont come for food. read more

Updated on Nov. 9, 2021 I've visited Empire Boston one too many times, because I trusted its food quality and impeccable service. I always count on Empire Boston to provide a phenomenal dining, or simply a night out, experience. I made a reservation on Monday, Nov. 8, using this "personal reservation link" with a strong promise to be "extra well taken care of". I received the exact opposite. No waiting staff came to our table until approximately 15 minutes after we've been seated. No water, no attention, no nothing. Our orders weren't taken until almost 15 minutes later. Our food didn't arrive until approximately another 30 minutes later. It took ONE HOUR until we have food on our table. ONE HOUR. We also wanted to order more food, but our waiter was no where to be found. We tried getting another waiter's attention and he kindly informed us that he'll get our waiter. Nope. No one came for the next 20 minutes. We also ordered another round of drinks, except my friend's "Bourbon Ending" from this round tasted like straight up soda. I'm someone who will get sick from just a sip of bourbon, and I could chug that drink like it's water. Either there was no alcohol at all in that drink, or there was a maximum of 3 drops. Our waiter told us he'll make things right and bring us a new drink and another on the house, with a promise that the drinks will be to Empire Boston's standard. The drink never came. About 20 minutes after the drink order, we informed ANOTHER waiter that we're still missing the drink. The waiter once again promised us that he'll get our waiter over and deliver our drinks. Let me highlight this one more time. THE DRINK NEVER CAME. After a horrible dining experience, at this point, we were both sick of the waiter's absence, the entire waiting staff's lack of attention, and the restaurant quite frankly. We simply wanted to get our check, and get the heck out of there. Nope. We could not get our check because our waiter was no where to be found, again. We waited approximately 15 more minutes until our waiter showed up, after I obviously waved him down. Did we get our check finally? No. We waited 15. FIFTEEN minutes until he finally showed up in the room again, and ring up our check in the register. When he handed the bill to us, I quickly put my credit card in the bill and placed it obviously on the table so we could leave. The waiter never came and pick it up. We've spent more than 2 hours at the restaurant and 4/5 of it was waiting on our food, service, and check. My friend actually had to go to the register, stop the waiter from chatting with other staff member, and ask him to CHECK US OUT right in front of him, so we could leave. This may have been a misstep from Empire Boston, and I'm probably going to receive a response something along the line with "this is not a true representation of our service". Whichever it is, this is a misstep that is likely to permanently prevent me from going back there ever again. I strongly suggest the management team to look into the waiter who served us last night. I took a picture of the bill with the waiter's name on it in case  Empire Boston contacts me. At this point I'm convinced that we were ignored on purpose, and that the waiter was actually high. Not to mention his mask was no where near his nose throughout the night, and I mean the 3 times he actually came to our table. His mask was also obviously pilling because he was removing it all the time to chat with other customers and staff members. He also made up all kinds of excuses and blamed the missing order on "his friends" and went into a tirade that "he trusted his friend to bring us our drinks". Again, I've had many great experiences at Empire Boston, but last night was the major deal breaker, especially after we were promised to be extra well taken care of by using the personal reservation link. I expect an acceptable explanation and a detailed plan on how Empire Boston is going to resolve this moving forward. Until then, good luck. read more

This review is strictly on their takeout. The main reason for the one star is the service. The group I was with wanted to order from there so I called to place an order as they do no have online ordering. Called around 5:45 (they open at 5) and finally someone picked up around the sixth try, was forwarded to someone else and went to voicemail instead. Another 5-6 tries I get ahold of another person at which time I said asked not to be transferred and just wanted to order takeout. I should not have to call a restaurant a dozen times to get an order through. They weren't even busy when I went to pick up the food fifteen minutes later. As for the food, $19 for their bowl of house fried rice. Granted it would be a large at any other place, the price is simply too high. Place it side by side with another takeout place and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference, except for the extra $10 in your pocket from ordering elsewhere. I can see that their fine in service might be better but they need to not neglect other customers as well. Food is a two star. I'd give zero for service if possible based on this recent encounter. read more

Let me just start off by saying it was a decision made by my husband and I to go to the restaurant before valentine's day so we could have a few A full menu Was my choice so we decided to go to the empire I should have realized as soon as we walked in Watching the manager and the man behind the computer that's scheduled all the seating arrangements we're busy talking on their phones Do we see Do we need to wait to We waited another 10 We waited another 10 minutes when the tons of tables empty Finally got seeded by server hostess I should say that's very rude So we said down what was on the table was no salt and pepper no condiments what's the weather a little plate napkin and chopsticks So we said down what was on the table was no salt and pepper no condiments what's the weather a little plate napkin and chopsticks So we said down what was on the table was no salt and pepper no condiments what's the weather a little plate napkin and So we said down what was on the table was no salt and pepper no condiments what's the weather a little plate napkin and chopsticks So we said down what was on the table was no salt and pepper no condiments what's the weather a little plate napkin and So we said down what was on the table was no salt and pepper no condiments whatsoever a little plate napkin and chopsticks I thought it was cute at 1st So we said down what was on the table was no salt and pepper no condiments whatsoever a little plate napkin and chopsticks I thought it was cute at So we said down what was on the table was no salt and pepper no condiments whatsoever a little plate napkin and chopsticks I thought it was cute at 1So we said down what was on the table was no salt and pepper no condiments whatsoever a little plate napkin and chopsticks I thought it was cute at 1st So we waited and waited and waited I got up and went to 1 of the 4 servers that were conjugating I got up and went to 1 of the 4 servers that were conjugating at the cooks At the cook spot Do I go to the bar or does someone come in serve me a drink Oh no give right to it Finally someone came And handed me a glass of fruit juice I got up went to 1 of the people that were just standing around and said this is nothing but juice can I get some booze in it. Find me a Camembert The 1st appetizer we got Was the tuna for $29 we got 3 pc of tuna with nothing to dip appetizer was a salt and appetizer was a salt and pepper calamari This tasted just like if you opened your mouth and put a salt This tasted just like if you opened your mouth and put a salt shaker poured and swallowed. So I decided maybe the main dish will be better we ordered Lo mein noodles with vegetables and chicken and we ask for a little spice. When that came It was like boiling up Romaine noodles Adding 3 pc of chicken And just cutting up a raw jalapeno and throwing it in there On top of being so dry. At this point I am beyond aggravated my head's ready to explode I got my jacket on My husband saying oh no what you gonna do and he knows me I got up Went to 1 of those people that were standing there and I said the mail that I just ate was the worst I've ever eaten it was horror absolutely horrorable. When my server came we finally told her that it was the worst meal we've ever had and we asked her how long she was working here she said 6 years that she had never had an employee maybe a few but never never a whole lot I find that so very hard to believe after reading all the reviews on this. My advice to anyone take my word for it you will pay so much money for nothing it is a horrible tourist trap stay away read more

I've been leary about Seaport restaurants since this place began development. Most were chain or poor quality. Our friends asked us out to meet up on a Friday night. Day before NYE but I was a bit surprised how empty the place was. So the low down was great service, wicked expensive but not a bad time to share some conversation and a meal. I went with the seafood noodle dish. Pretty OK but nothing to rave about. A very OK experience. read more

Immediately when walking into Empire, I was impressed by the immense structure and detailed design and decor of the restaurant. I felt like my expectations needed to be high after entering such a magnificent interior. After being sat, I looked at a menu filled with exotic and delightful food with mouth watering descriptions and plentiful options. Ultimately, I ended up ordering the scallion pancakes, the crispy salmon roll, and the salmon sashimi. The wait was not bad - the service was even better. When my food arrived and I began to eat, I genuinely thought I was eating the best sushi I ever had. Not only was it the perfect amount of food, but the texture, temperature, taste, and presentation were fit for a king. Because of it's high price range, Empire is a once in a while restaurant that meets and soars over expectations. I give Empire a 9.2/10 read more

I enjoyed my meal, the decor is nice and it's a nice atmosphere. We got the crab rangoons, red dragon roll, crispy salmon roll, and mapo tofu. I went last night for drinks in the lounge and wow- I was impressed. It was my first time and I felt extremely under dressed. This is definitely a high end setting bar and although there is no dress code, you will definitely feel out of place if wearing a casual look. My table ended up getting the "big kahuna" drink which was priced at $72 for 10oz of grey goose and watermelon purée. It's definitely a trendy one time drink but still delicious. They don't recommend eating the fruit afterwords but I think it soaked up a lot of the liquid so it's hard not to. I will definitely be back but definitely with the right attire. read more

I've always heard great things about this place and it surely did not disappoint. If you have ever been to red lantern, just know this place is exactly like that as far as the set up, very classy and high end. The food on the other hand I believe is 10x better. Even though both restaurants are evidently quite similar price wise, this one in my opinion is well worth it. Great music, ambience and drinks. Reservations are always a good idea, especially when the weekend comes around since it becomes very busy. Pineapple Mai Tai was yummy but had a lot of ice in it. Scorpion bowl on the other hand...did anyone see how big it was? Split between three or even two is enough, I know that sounds a little crazy, but hear me out-it was a good enough drink with decent amount of alcohol but definitely a little on the fruity side. Nevertheless, I wont deny that it was satisfying. For 54$ the amount that it brings, you are getting your money's worth and hey, you'll also get a great picture out of it. Crispy shrimp shu mai and the crispy salmon roll were heavenly. Sesame beef (29$) was also very savory. These are just some of my favorites upon my first visit. I will certainly be back. read more

I loved the upscale and elegant ambience of this restaurant. The service was also pretty good. When it comes to the food however, I have mixed reviews. The sushi rolls were very good and so was the hot and sour soup. On the other hand, the mapo tofu lacked flavor and tasted more like a watered down sriracha sauce. It also had a mix of fried and silken tofu, which was odd since it was only supposed to have silken tofu. This restaurant may be good for sushi enthusiasts but may not be the best choice for vegetarians. read more

I came here with a friend on a Saturday night, and I was immediately wowed by the decor and ambiance of the place. The grand doors in the entrance and the lighting set the scene for what I was expecting to be an over the top experience. However, the food itself left something to be desired. We ordered the Corn Rangoons to start, and they were a delicious fried appetizer. However, the duck sauce it was served with was overpowering and unnecessary. Additionally, the filling to shell ratio was way too small. Overall the portion size was small as well (6 small rangoons for $15). For entrees, I got the rock shrimp tempura roll ($18). It was fine, nothing special. Definitely could have gotten the same thing at another sushi restaurant for almost half the price. My friend got the Cambodian rice, which was very hearty and large in portion ($18). It had a kick to it, which she liked. However, it didn't blow her away. Overall, the food itself was mediocre. I was expecting way more at a higher end restaurant like Empire. I've come to Empire before for just drinks and it was a very lively, loungey vibe. The bar section is straight ahead from the entrance, and was crowded--for good reason! My friends and I got martinis--lychee and red berry--and the mai tai, and were all delicious and complex. Empire is a great place to get drinks. Bottom line: Over the top, impressive decor and strong, delicious drinks almost make up for this restaurant's mediocre, overpriced food. read more

Let me start by saying yes this place is PRICEY. We went for dinner and no it's not overpriced in my opinion, it's just very expensive. When we walked in I was SO impressed with the decor and how huge the restaurant is. It was just beautiful and elegant with a lot of Asian inspired designs. I heard that later on at night it becomes a little clubby-but I didn't get to witness that myself. With that said, the food is excellent. We ordered a few appetizers and some sushi to start with and then the chicken lo mein. For dessert we had the campfire s'mores fried ice cream. Everything was delicious and I was honestly pretty full after the appetizers/sushi. The lo mein was a perfect flavor, not too salty and filled with tons of veggies and pieces of chicken. You could tell the sushi was fresh and the chefs take such good care of every dish to make sure that the presentation is perfect. Their drink menu is also great, I would recommend the sangria since it's not your typical red sangria. It was light and fruity and refreshing. If you're in the Boston area and looking for a nice fancy dinner this is definitely a place worth looking into! Tip: if there is a type of sushi you want but don't see it on the menu they will make any roll that you ask for! No matter what it is. read more

I wish I could love this place but it's just ok. The ambiance is incredible- the company or person who designed the interior did a 5 Star job. The Asian panels, the mirrored walls, the plush seats, cool wall paper and incredible lighting fixtures give it the wow factor. When you walk in you are immediately greeted by the hostess stand and can continue onto the bar area where there is a huge seated island to grab drinks. You can also head into the dining space and eat there or sit at seats that face the kitchen and watch the chefs in action. So, why doesn't this amazing space get more stars? Firstly the food is ok. It's good but it isn't great, and with the price tag attached to each item you really want to walk out and say "that's incredible". Secondly, the staff are ok. Our waitress was nice but seems super rushed to get us to order more drinks and drink and drinks. I can understand tips are based on the bill but I don't want another glass of wine when mine is still 1/2 full. We also moved into the bar area after dinner and went to sit down at the "island" and got a bit of flack for not ordering food as well. After dropping $220 on dinner I would like to have a drink wherever I want. The waitresses in the bar area need a costume change as well, the black corset with black fade jeans and black faded shirts doesn't go with the atmosphere. It's looks a bit tacky. So all in all, I'll go back if it's a group thing but not for a personal choice booking. read more

If you ever wanted to eat with live animals this is the place to go! We went to eat there and the food was very bland, not to mention the Chicken Lo Mein we ordered was cold and there was barely any chicken in it. The music in the restaurant was louder than necessary. The place was very empty and though we are aware it turns into more of a lounge at night, the 15-ish people at the bar were not there to party. It was very hard to hear anything across the table. The worst part though was the MICE running back and forth past our table during dinner. When we asked to speak the manager regarding the mice he sent the very nice waitress out to let us know that he was "too busy dealing with a staff meeting" to come out and speak to paying customers and that if we wanted to we could wait but that they weren't sure how long he would take. We spent a lot of money between just 5 people, not to mention my office frequents that place often but it's safe to say that after what we saw and the way the manager acted last night we will never be returning and I will be telling everyone i know. Dining with mice is not an experience I ever want to have again. If i could leave 0 stars I would. read more
