The staff enjoying their delicious dinner!

Visiting Chicago, we had to check out Chinatown! My son loves Chinese food, so why not? There are so many restaurants to choose from, it can get a little overwhelming, but we were determined to find a place that served Egg Fu Yung. While we were walking around, taking in all the sights and smells, this amazing aroma hit me from across the street. I looked at the menu and sure enoughthey had Egg Fu Yung! You know it's a good sign when you see the staff eating there. The service was great, the food was delicious, and we'll definitely be back next time we're in town!

Great choice if you're in Chinatown, especially on Christmas Day. Service here is fantastic. The food is always hot and really good. Great restaurant. Always crowded but never all that noisy.

We had a fantastic late lunch/early dinner for two here recently and are still thinking back on it! The restaurant was crowded when we arrived, not surprisingly, but we were still seated almost immediately. Our server was one of just a couple that were running around to tend to their tables. The interior is pretty basic with creams and shades of green, round tables, and slightly dated furniture. We spent a while looking through the extensive menu and reading online reviews before we decided on the Cantonese roasted duck, general tsos chicken, shumai, and egg rolls. Everything was delicious, hot and fresh. In order of our most favorite to least favorite: The egg rolls, roasted duck, general tsos, and shumai. The almond cookies they give you with your fortune cookies and bill are actually pretty tasty! Bathroom was located right in the back near the kitchen door and was clean and easily accessible. We can see why people love this place.

Excellent place. It can get full at peak hours. But I was lucky and got a table. Crispy pekin duck was perfect. Even white roce was delicious. Sia bao pork buns were also great. I was very happy with food flavor, portions and choices. Service was flawless. All over a great experience. Menu is extensive. Many plates are family style sharing.

So good. So fast. I love authentic Chinese. Was visiting Chicago from Detroit and the place we tried prior to this was WAY too busy. I had the seaweed soup, Bean Sprout Stew w whole roasted garlic, and pan fried pot stickers. I substituted the Sprouts for Chinese Broccoli as they were out of sprouts. The broth was so flavorful and the pork albeit looking suspicious, was GOOD. I legitimately felt nourished after this meal and intend to return on my next trip to China town!

We were crushed when our go to House of Fortune closed. This has been a great replacement. Salt and pepper shrimp with no shell is awesome. It's small and cramped but friendly and inviting! Great family atmosphere.

Emperor's Choice has been my go-to Chinese Food Restaurant for well over 20 years (maybe 30?... I can't remember). This is as close as it gets to old school Chinese Food! Everything is delicious, but the food could be served hotter. They do need to fix that. It's still great, though. If you are looking for traditional Family-Style Dining with excellent Chicago Chinatown dishes, this is your place! I have too many favorites here, so try it all!

Classic Chinese restaurant in the hart of old china town! Traveled here for the full experience and this place definitely did not disappoint! Service was great and the food was delicious. Accommodated my party of 8 even tho this spot is a lil small and everything everyone ordered was so good! The vibe here gives authentic and has been in business for 38yrs so it speaks volumes on the quality in the dishes they serve! Enjoy

The potstickers were as I thought! Magnificently delicious! The service was a 10! & I do plan on going back to try multiple other dishes.

On the main drag in China Town...a great place to go to. The dishes were prepared great. Great portions at good prices. Staff were friendly and swift with service. Great looking little place inside.

    Crispy Tofu

Definition of a succulent Chinese meal. We got the walnut shrimp, delicious, beef lo mein, which was generous with the tender beef, and crispy spicy tofu, which was so crispy and not spicy. Everything was cooked to perfection, not overdone. I'll be back a ton!

MingHin was packed, loud, and a little chaotic. Worth it. Dim sum is an experience as much as a meal and MingHin delivers on both fronts. We ordered more than we could keep track of. Soup dumplings that immediately became the kids' personal obsession. Shu mai that hit every time. BBQ pork buns in every form they offered because obviously. Chinese broccoli to balance out the indulgence. Everything was solid, fresh, and exactly what you want from a dim sum spread. The room was packed and buzzing but the service kept up impressively. Servers were constantly circling, clearing empty plates and dishes without missing a beat. Clean and attentive even at full capacity, which is no small thing. Fair warning if you are bringing little ones: this environment is a lot. The noise, the crowd, the overwhelming parade of food arriving at the table. Our kids loved what they ate but the sensory experience was a bit much for them. This is a place better suited for a group of adventurous adults or older kids who thrive in high energy environments. Prices are great for the quality and quantity of food you get. A Chinatown institution for good reason. Just know what you are walking into and embrace it fully.

The portions are huge, so I highly recommend sharing dishes, especially if you're dining with a group. If you're not familiar with the menu, it can be a little challenging to know what to order, but the staff is usually helpful with recommendations. Some of my favorites are the dumplings, various rice dishes, chicken, lemongrass dishes, Mongolian beef, and other traditional offerings. This is a fantastic place for larger groups, and they're very accommodating when it comes to splitting checks. The food comes out quickly, the atmosphere is lively, and there's plenty of variety for everyone. If you're in the area near Joy Yee, MingHin is definitely worth a visit!

The vibes were chill with pop music playing in the background. Service was solid. Our server was knowledgeable, explained the menu well, and answered questions without rushing us. The Pork & Chive Dumplings tasted like something my mom would make at home. The broth they sit in adds a lot of flavor and makes the dish even better. My only nitpick is that I personally prefer a thicker, chewier dumpling wrapper. The Dan Dan Noodles were the standout. Creamy, nutty, crunchy from the peanuts, packed with flavor, and not overly spicy. It was my first time trying dan dan noodles and now I totally understand the hype. 8/10. The Xian Bing took about 25 minutes to come out, which makes sense since they're made fresh. The lamb filling was flavorful and the outside was super crispy, almost like a scallion pancake. The bread itself was softer and thicker than I expected and could've used a little more flavor. Overall, this felt like authentic, comforting food that leaves you completely satisfied when you walk out. Next time I'd absolutely order the Dan Dan Noodles again and try the beef noodles, scallion pancakes, and beef dumplings.

We started with house beer, then worked through chicken potstickers, tofu skin salad, the xian bing (freshly baked crispy bread stuffed with cumin lamb), and dan dan noodles. The dan dan noodles were the standout, tangy and spicy in a way that turned almost addictive. The xian bing was a close second, the crust crackly against the rich, cumin-heavy lamb. A solid meal in a no-frills room.

It's crazy it's completely died down by the time we were finished with our meal. The service was great, the interior decor was beautiful and the staff was friendly. The dim sum offered for brunch was good as well but pricey. Especially since some dishes were only offered with two pieces. If you have a party of three then you're kind of forced into buying two of the same dishes. Which is strange. Traditionally most dim sum dishes have three pieces. Rarely see 2 pieces being offered especially for double the price. We ordered their Jiaozi, Char Sui Bao, crab Rangoon, chilly chilli noodles, and their Xiang long Bao. All were great. The chilly chilli noodles is served cold and was very flavorful. The Xiang Kong Bao was amazing. The potstickers was probably my favorite dish and it's mess up char Sui Bao. We were going to order wings but they had ran out I guess by 12pm on a Sunday. I was also going to order fried rice but it wasn't offered for brunch. Overall despite the priciness of the menu, we still enjoyed our food and the service. I obviously knew what I was getting myself into by visiting this place, and can definitely see myself returning in the future.
