I don't come here very often or often enough. But it's definitely worth the stop. I've only ever come for breakfast though I know they serve all meals. The mimosas are on point. No lacking there. Not the first time we have been here.. it's always busy so it can get loud.. if you are starving, order right away because service can be a bit slow but waitresses are very nice and busting their butts so it's understandable.. they do accommodate large parties/ private events they even do holidays if you're looking to skip the traditional hosting/cooking at home . This place used to be so amazing. The food is still great, but it wasn't worth dealing with everything else. The food took 55 minutes to come on a day with no wait! At one point we were asked to vacate our table so they could accommodate a larger party. They took us from a nice booth and moved us to a narrow wet table next to the door. That party then received their meals and finished while we were still waiting. Like, if you have a large party coming in and the table isn't available, you wait for the space to free up as guests leave! Our waitress had an attitude the entire time too. We went here for breakfast as an alternative to some others we had been to. It's a really cute breakfast place and we all really enjoyed it. We were amazed how great a value it was. We all had 2 scrambled eggs, 2 pieces of white toast with butter and jams, 4 links of sausage, and home fries for only 11.99. We each got orange juice and coffee. The breakfast was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly. Large portions, too. The orange juice was a little bitter and coffee average. Those could be improved upon. Aside from those, everything else was good. Good and attentive service. Clean and comfortable dining room. They also serve alcohol so if you wanted a mimosa, for instance, that would be an option. I am a huge Emmily's fan! They are the perfect, small-town breakfast spot. Every time we go, they're incredibly busy, yet we've never had to wait for a seat...the restaurant is bigger than it looks! It's also so charming and cozy...the perfect vibe for a Sunday brunch. The service is always quick and kind, and they're always so flexible with their menu items. They absolutely satisfy that diner craving while elevating the classic diner food. Their homefries, for example, are some of the best I've had. Although homefries are a necessary side at diners, they're rarely seasoned well given their dry nature, but Emmily's knows how to season them all the way through! Another example, they have French toast but they also have cinnamon roll French toast! A little fun/experimental sprinkled in with the traditional-but-done-exceedingly-well diner experience. I have never been to Emmily's and I've been in NP for 20 years I have my go to spots and was hoping to add this one to the list. I had found out about this spot because my son has good allergies and breakfast spots can be scary with his allergies. We called and asked if they could accommodate him and they said absolutely just let the server know when you get here. That was awesome because I always end up taking him somewhere for lunch because breakfast has a lot of peanut butter Nutella walnuts ect. We got there and seemed to be plenty of seating it was fairly busy. We came in with 4 people and were only given two menus I thought that was weird but whatever. Our waitress was a young girl friendly and was great about getting me info on the drinks for any cross contamination for allergies in the chocolate syrup we couldn't get much info so settled for two orange juices and two hot coffees. I ordered the hash Benedict it comes with home fries. My son with allergies ordered the emmiy's special it comes with eggs, toast, home fries and French toast, my mother and my older son ordered the country breakfast it comes with eggs mixed with ham, toast &home fries. I'll start with the Benedict it came out looking great but turned to disappointment once I started to dig in the eggs were over cooked both the hash hand no flavor and neither did the Hollandaise sauce home fries we just ok. My son with allergies next he doesn't eat eggs so I split them with my older son they were ok could use some ingredients kind of bland same home fries ok he said the school French toast was better ouch. The other two meals I guess were ok the ham was definitely the canned crap but same my mother said her toast was cold. Trying to get refills on the hot coffee was not easy most breakfast places will circle around refilling peoples coffee our waitress was had to find after getting our food. I had to ask a food runner to get me a pouched egg that wasn't overcooked and some extra hollandaise sauce. The place is quite big inside with plenty of seating but I think it doesn't work well if you need assistance. I ordered a second oj when I got the bill I can say I've never paid such a high bill for breakfast. The only reason this place didn't get 1 star is because they can accommodate my son's allergies and didn't kill him and our waitress was nice. $88.46 was the total for mid food. We won't be back. Oh I almost forgot the upcharged every meal a dollar because of egg costs but did not mention it ahead of time they said a note was stapled to the menu it was not there. read more

I had been a regular at Emmily's since they were located in North Providence. Atmosphere at Emily's has always been a humble mom-n-pop feel, some mismatched tables and furniture, a bit musty. Food has never been top tier, mostly predictable American favorites and a few Mexican/American offerings (burritos etc), still pleasant and relatively consistent. Up to my last visit, service had been Emmily's strong suite, staff had always been busy, but calm and collected and very hospitable. It was the real draw for me, and the owner was always wonderful. Unfortunately things have changed quite a bit since the pandemic. I saw the quality of food start to drift down, and staff have seemed a lot less friendly and stressed out. On our last visit we were seated at a table where the benches and table were so close to each other, without exaggeration, my knees were so constricted, I was forced to sit sideways and my chest was almost forced to touch the table. (I am not small, but not overweight nor an NBA star, 5'11, 185). Perplexingly, our side of the restaurant was nearly empty, so there was no need to seat us in this obviously last resort spot. It was so ridiculous that we just got up and moved to adjacent nearby booth that was properly spaced. The waitstaff was slightly annoyed, but seemed okay with us moving. Shortly after our food came, a woman and older child were seated in the poorly sized booth that were had vacated. They also struggled in the booth so much that they were shaking my seat. This didn't bother me terribly, but I felt bad that they were being subjected to what we'd rejected. I overheard them ask the waitstaff if they could move to the other side of the aisle where there were literally three empty booths. She mumbled something, and I foolishly chimed in and also pointed out the empty booths, she curtly responded, to me... "that's not my section!" Her tone let me know that needed to mind my own business, and I did. But this poor woman and who I think may have been her grandson had to just sit and endure being in the worst spot in the restaurant. The experience left a bad impression on me, and paired with all the other detractors (mediocre food, musty smell), I just don't need to go back to what's turned into a sort of gauntlet experience. read more

I have been going here for years. Most times I meet with 8 to 10 friends and we spend a lot of money. Generally our waitress is amazing and attentive. The last time we went with 12 people back in Nov 2025 and it was the first time, bad on us, that after the fact I realized not only were we tipping BIG, but they were charging an 18% gratuity for a large party. We should've looked way before this and that's on us, but I've always felt that when a gratuity is added ahead the waitstaff should mention it. Considering how long we stay and how many of us, I'm not that mad. However, today I went with another friend. Just the 2 of us and we went there at 9:15am. At 10:15 we had the check and plates cleared. Sorry, we were catching up and talking. At 10:30 Theresa asked us to clear our tab. At 10:40 she informed us that if she needed the table, we were going to have to leave. Seriously! Not even an hour and a half. Empty seats everywhere in the place. We gave more than a 23% tip. The food is always good, but this was ridiculous. In all my 58 years, no one has ever basically asked us to leave after less then an hour and a half. My friend lives in Bellingham and I live in Barrington, so this has been our meet up place for breakfast since it is right in the middle of where each of us lives. Every time I have been there I have gotten the same dish and just love it each tine. The Greek omelette is the best I've ever had! They make it with the standard spinach and feta, but also add roasted red peppers and olives! I'm Greek, I love olives! Anyway the combination is so delicious. I highly recommend it! Inside is nothing to write home about, has your typical diner vibe, which can be just what you need when you want a good breakfast. The servers have always been friendly and attentive and the last time I went, during winter break, it was super busy, but I still felt like she checked in with us often and got us what we needed quickly. The only thing I would suggest is maybe to add some healthy options to the menu. When I went there last, I really wanted to get something different this time, just to try something new. Was looking for something like avocado toast, oatmeal with fruit, or an açaí bowl. I realize that might be asking too much from a good old-fashioned breakfast place, but I almost went somewhere else because I was craving something healthy. My elderly mother and I went for breakfast roughly a week ago. I had seen reviews saying they have the best eggs Benedict in town. They most certainly do. In my opinion the dish was truly amazing. I ordered the classic version. My mom ordered a "sampler type" breakfast plate (I don't recall what it's called on the menu.) the amount of food was more than generous. The cost was extremely reasonable. Service was great. We were promptly greeted when we arrived. Our server was friendly and attentive, surprisingly because it was very crowded. The venue itself is cozy and has a hometown vibe. I am updating my original review. This place seems to be taking a turn for the worse. We ordered pick up, they packed the food extremely poorly, so the 4 minute car ride home, the liquid leaked in the paper bag and caused $74 worth of food to break and fall all over the ground. When contacted, they were closing so they said we had to call again to get a credit. After another call, no credit was given. $74 worth of food wasted. We then decided Friday 7/16/21 after seeing they were open when driving by to stop and eat in the restaurant. They were busy when we walked in, were seated, and then given two dirty paper menus. The food selection has really slimmed down from their original 6 page menu. I ordered a fisherman's platter, they were out of clam strips again. So they were supposed to give me more scallops. I did not get extra scallops and the piece of fish was almost the size of a McDonald's filet of fish. The "platter" was not a platter, rather a plate of grease soaked soggy seafood. My husband ordered the scallop dinner. He ordered veggies instead of fries. They didn't send the veggies and sent the fries. To top it off, they must have ran out of the bay scallops and replaced it with cut up rubbery sea scallops and they were so salty we didn't eat them. My kid got the broccoli chicken alfred which came out fine. We ordered 2 soups and 1 salad. They gave a tiny amount of dressing that was not enough to cover even a quarter of the salad, but at least the salad was a good size. We ordered a white chowder and chicken escarole soup. They gave my husband red chowder which I had to have changed again to white chowder and the chicken escarole soup tasted funky. Both of us tried it and neither of us would eat it. I would suggest someone not ordering that. My kid was offered a drink refill, but my husband and I's cups remained almost empty and melted. The employees were eating at the bar while we were eating, they probably explains the lack of service and attention to detail for the orders. Since the open/close hours are all over the place, it's hard to know when they are actually open. I think I'm going to skip going here for a long while. read more

arrived by my aunt's place shortly after noon to find her exhausted from a week of entertaining visitors. still, a person has to eat and so we are here to exchange cash for food service. had a false alarm seeing party of twelve near the entrance but they were heading out, not coming in so okay. we got a table and coffee and waters and menus... margie got a massive vegetable omelette plus wheat toast and cinnamon apples, I went with corned beef hash plus raisin toast and taters :-) still bummed about the toast because what I heard was "...wheat, rye, italian raisin" not "...wheat, rye, italian, raisin." but that's on me. still, the standard raisin toast held up with the well crisped pile of corned beefs and eggs. the sweet, dried grapiness contrasted with the warm drippy golden goodness of sunny sided eggs... so I have an alternative toast besides the several variations of rye. after dining we sat around yapping through coffee and mimosas basking in the afterglow of good eats, trading stories and sharing secrets. it's that kind of place. read more

I've only been here for breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. Large portions, great big menu selection and friendly servers. Best of all - the coffee was really good, piping hot and they kept my mug (not a cup) topped off for the entire time. The decor is a little odd, with basic diner furnishings surrounded by the fixtures from the previous restaurant (The Little Inn), including a fireplace and crystal chandeliers. If you want ambiance, this isn't it. But it sort of adds an eclectic feature to the dining experience. We'll definitely visit again - and soon. I had the Hervos Rancheros, which was amazingly tasty and very generous. My date had the Belgian waffle and eggs - He was also very pleased. UPDATE: Returned for another go at breakfast. This time, I tried an omelette of my own making: Cheddar, mushrooms and bacon. It was a generous size and delicious, with the cheese all nice and melty. The hash browns stole the show- seasoned perfectly, a little crunch on the outside. My date ordered the Hungry Man Breakfast, which required 3 plates. Judging from the way it disappeared, it was pretty darn good!! We perused the dinner menu and plan to return again. A great selection and very reasonable prices. UPDATE: Went back for dinner. Shared an appetizer of onion rings, which were very good. I ordered the Seafood Casserole - a nice combo of broiled haddock, sea scallops and shrimp with a buttery ritz cracker topping. I had a generous portion of mashed potatoes and chose broccoli for the veggie. It was delicious, especially the broccoli, which was done in a garlicky olive oil while retaining just enough snap. My grandson ordered the kid's Chicken Fingers and fries and reported they were very good. The rolls were a nice feature - sourdough, crunchy outside and soft within, served piping hot with butter. My daughter, wife, and I have had breakfast here every Sunday for the past few years and are part of the regular's group. Overall, the food is good, waitress Laura is fantastic; attentive and friendly. This place is always busy. I have a few gripes and they are concerning the kitchen and pricing. Sides and coffee seem to be on the high side, but that's a judgment you need to make for yourself. As for the kitchen, orders run hot and cold. Although the food is tasty, orders ate not always correct; under cooked eggs or, as in this last Sunday, over easy came out scrambled. It hasn't happened often in the past, but seems to have become more frequent. Toast is always luke warm. Wait staff is pretty big and you'll never see them not moving. They work well together. How have never reviewed this place ?? My dad and I go every Sunday. Even in the times of covid they managed to provide speedy service and delicious hot fresh food. I have had lunch a few times but breakfast is where it is at. The home fries are crispy and well seasoned. The coffee is strong. The breakfast sandwiches are huge and loaded with food. You get a lot for the money. French toast is fluffy and tasty. If you are imbibing they have a full bar. We see quite a few drinks being made as we usually sit at the bar. It's a huge place with a ton of staff but it does get busy. Always seats at the bar though so that's where we sit. Laura is always the one who takes care of us. She is friendly, efficient , and always makes sure our coffees are full. She remembers our orders though once In a while we change it up.
