Lobster shrimp crab roll
Glenn C.

My son found Emery for a family dinner with my daughter who was visiting. Surprised I never heard of it before. The service was very good. I had the crusted Halibut which was awesome. The House salad was one of the best house salad's that I ever had. The calamari was very light on quantity. Given that it was almost $20; was not worth it. Wine bottles are reasonable priced. My son tried a newer clam pasta dish and was very disappointed in the lack of flavor. My wife had the shrimp, crab and lobster roll and like it. My daughter had the same as me and liked it. They gave my daughter a dessert for her upcoming wedding (Chocolate Creme Brulee). It was very good. .

We came here to celebrate and were disappointed because they didn't even mention it. The service was alright, once our food was dropped off it took awhile for him to come back. The best part of the meal was the appetizers. The focaccia felt like it was drenched in olive oil though. I ordered the shrimp lemon pasta and it didn't have any flavor at all. The noodles were over cooked and the pasta had no sauce. It tasted like plain pasta. The trout was a bit salty but cooked well. Over all I feel like we paid a lot for just ok food.

Apple tart

Oh. My. Gosh. SO so good. We started with the lavender lemonade mocktail -- which I absolutely added tequila to -- and it was smooth, refreshing, and dangerously delicious. 10/10 would order again exactly the same way. For appetizers, we got the whipped feta. Delicious, creamy, and perfect for sharing -- but fair warning: avoid the peppers if you're not into a little kick. They sneak up on you! My friend and I split the house salad and WOW. A complete showstopper. So fresh, the vinaigrette was bright and delightful, and those fresh bacon bits? Chef's kiss. It's rare that a house salad stands out like that, but this one absolutely did. Now let's talk about the prime rib. I typically do not like steak or prime rib... but our waitress recommended it as the best thing on the menu, and honestly the Yelp photos had already convinced me. When I tell you it was BOMB -- I mean it. So tender. So flavorful. Perfectly cooked. Paired with broccolini and mashed potatoes, it was a whole experience. To end the night, we shared the apple tart with cinnamon ice cream -- warm, sweet, comforting, and the perfect finish to an already amazing meal. Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience from start to finish. Great service, incredible food, and such a vibe. I cannot wait to come back.

Been going since they opened. Food is good. Napa Chic vibe. However, in my dining throughout the world for the past 50+ years, I've never been told there is no coffee - tells me they didn't want to make any since the business was light. Disappointing. Service is their weak point. Lackadaisical.

Chicken breast Roulade

Loved the location, menu and wait staff! Very accommodating & friendly service staff. Our party ordered the wedge salad plain ( asked for only lettuce, tomatoes & dressing on the side) emery house salad which was fresh & very tasty, emery clam chowder ( large portion & seasoned well), twin fillets by two at our table & both were enjoyed & the filets were very tender. Finally tried the chicken breast roulade which was delicious- sufficient amount of each ingredient & cooked to perfection. We visited during the week so not very crowded. Loved having time to enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. Two floors & lots of tables & booths to accommodate varying party sizes. Love that they have a seasonal menu. Too full to try the desserts but perhaps will try on our next visit.

Pork Belly Bao Buns

Stopped in on a Friday for a quick drink and appetizer. We showed up around 5:15 and were the first ones there, but it filled up pretty quickly. Happy hour on drinks only, specialty cocktails were $11. We had the rum punch and old fashioned, both were well balanced and tasty. But the real star was the pork belly bao buns. They were fantastic! The buns were steamed to perfection, light and fluffy. The pork belly was tender and all the flavors complimented each other well. We will definitely be back to have a full meal!

I came her for my birthday with 3 friends. The food was good but not exceptional. The space was unique and enjoyable. The service was very good. I think this is a good spot for a nicer dinner out.

Richard was our server and he was amazing. Very knowledgeable about the menu and conscientious of the food allergies of 2 in our party (corn allergy and gluten allergy). I'd go back just for him. My in-laws (with the allergies) were blown away by the variety of food available to them, a rarity. My father in law got the fish sandwich (a haddock) and said it was one of the best he ever had. My MIL got the filet. The clam chowder was thick and creamy - hard to believe it was gluten free. My husband got the lobster shrimp BLT and loved it - such a unique dish. The whipped feta is an absolute must order. Not a spot of it remained. I have been twice and both times I got different things and both times I have thought my main entrees were good, not great. However, I tend to like a lot of seasoning. If it were based on just my tastes, I'd say 4 stars. However, both times I've gone I've been in the minority, the service (again, Richard ) has been great, the ambiance lovely, it bumps it to 5.

First off, this restaurant is absolutely beautiful! It was the perfect restaurant for an intimate celebration. Our service was impeccable, she did a great job being attentive, giving recommendations, and comping a dessert since we were celebrating my recent match at Cincinnati Children's. Now for the best part, the FOOD! I cannot say enough about the food, all of it was delicious. Genuinely one of the top 5 meals I've ever had! Definitely a place you have to check out!!!

Crispy pork belly buns.

Came to Emery to celebrate a friend's retirement. We had decided on seafood and when I saw the photos of Emery, I knew this is the place. We missed the building because the trees outside hid the sign. The inside looks much bigger than the outside. I think there's an upstairs dining area. We were seated by the windows looking out into the patio. We started the meal with a cocktail. The elderflower and pear cocktail was wonderful! For appetizers we had the crispy pork belly buns and calamari. The buns were recommended by the wait person. The calamari was our choice. We were hesitant about that because although the dish is simple, most places will have it wrong. The batter will be too thick and all you taste is the batter and not the calamari. Emery got this right. The batter was very light and the flavor of the calamari still comes through. Two of us tried the clam chowder. Thinking that it is the usual white creamy type, we were pleasantly surprised by a bowl of light creamy soup filled with clam meat and bacon bits. It was the best clam chowder we have had. Definitely a must get dish. For entrees, we had the be recommended walleye, the chicken and the the pasta dishes. Every dish was fantastic. The walleye taste bland and plain on it's own but with the crab meat on it and the sauce, it was tasty. The chicken and mushroom is so good. I tasted a piece and love the mushroom with the tender chicken. One person in our group who seldom finish a pasta dish finished the whole dish. That's how good it was. Highly recommend Emery if you are celebrating a special event.

Whipped feta

My husband, baby, and I came here for an early birthday celebration for me. Reservations were made online and were pretty easy. So I'm actually rating our experience 3.5 stars. So our overall experience was good but nothing amazing. The ambiance of the restaurant is really nice, definitely kind of my vibe and style which I really love. Our server was good but nothing amazing. She was a little bit awkward while my husband was finishing up the last piece of bread of the appetizer, she kind of just stood there waiting for him to scoop everything so she can take the plate. So he felt kind of rushed because she was literally standing at our table waiting. Anywho here is our review of the food. Whipped feta appetizer. This is probably my favorite dish out of all three things we've ordered. The whip feta had a lot of flavor and paired well with the fig jam and peppers, I could probably eat an additional order of this. Highly recommended. Braised short rib. This was pretty good but I felt that it needed a little bit more of the red wine demi-glaze because by the time I got halfway through the short rib it became a bit dry. The broccolini was a bit tough to cut through with a knife given to me so I didn't really finish that. Blackened ruby red trout. My husband ordered this and he said that it was okay and the fresh lemon curd could have been more flavorful - he said it was a bit too subtle for him. He added some salt and it was a little bit better. So overall it was a good experience but again like I said it wasn't anything amazing. But honestly I would come back here just because of the ambiance itself. Perhaps during a happy hour would be really good.

Back upstairs dining area.
Jenny A.

I found this restaurant on OpenTable, and I'm so glad we went! It has a cute dining space on the main floor by the bar. But the upstairs area was really cozy and quant with it's separate dining spaces. We felt like we were eating at someone's house. Service was excellent, and pride themselves on being accommodating to people with food allergies. There are lots of options on the menu, and they have the same yummy donut holes as one of their sister restaurants, S.W. Clyborne!

We had a truly lovely 80th bday dinner for my mother in law at Emery. Thank you to our server Stevie and all the chefs. *chefs kiss*. It was a special treat to have the manager comp our appetizers for the delay in bringing them out. Such a Nicki touch! Also thanks Shannon for letting us use the elevator! :)

Would I be out of place wearing shorts?

I think that depends on the type of shorts. I usually go there in casual pants and have seen some people in shorts - nice shorts like bahamas. It's a place deserving of nice clothing. Make it a special night!

Then we had the beet salad Red & Golden beets thinly sliced with fresh herbs and goat cheese. A lot of thought went into making this dish perfect thank you chef My lady ordered the filet and I had the 14oz Choice Strip Steak. Both incredibly tender and served with a variety of sauces. Bone broth, chimichurri, and herb butter. All the sauces were fabulous with me, preferring the bone broth. Our side dish of roasted herbs brussels sprouts, and cauliflower in balsamic glaze, very tasty. We did the big finish with a large slice of delicious carrot cake. (I will be booking this option from now on.) I ordered the surf and turf seasonal option with lobster and filet mignon cooked medium. I was surprised when a sea scallop I didn't order and a small glass of wine spritzer popped up but this is part of the chefs table experience - it was a sea scallop grilled with a chimichurri sauce and some crispy prosciutto. I would have never ordered this on my own so it was nice to try. I am a not a huge seafood person - the minute I cut into it I smelled the sea which was a turn off and I wasn't a fan of the texture but once I cut into tiny pieces and mixed with the sauce and the proscuitto I was able to actually find myself enjoying the dish plus boy did it look pretty coming out! The chefs table is nice because you get to watch everything be cooked - the mac and cheese looks amazing every single time - omg I must try it sometime. My waitress was phenomenal with purple and blue hair and the glittery eye shadow. She was so attentive and helpful. The steak was so juicy and cooked perfectly - I think next time I would get a larger steak or the grilled shrimp option as I wasn't the biggest fan of the lobster tail but still finished it. The salad was okay - I wish it had ranch instead. I also got the orange cream cloud for dessert to go which was shockingly light, airy and delicious - the citrus flavors with the passion fruit are so refreshing. I can't wait to come back and try something new . The place is beautifully decorated and they offer free parking options - the music is very low so you can have a conversation and even the chefs table wasn't too loud even though it was right next to the kitchen.

We started with the OYSTERS BIENVILLE and that was an excellent choice! I'm just finding that I like and enjoy oysters so my experience is limited but for my taste buds it was a hit! We also had a couple drinks my wife went with Hurricane and I went with a Kentucky mule both drinks tasted great. For our meals my wife had the étouffée she loved it flavor was spot on and she's from the gulf coast of Mississippi and has had Cajun food for many years. Her only issue was she thought or wanted more rice. To which the waitress promptly went and brought her another bowl of rice! She was satisfied 100% I had the Cajun sampler that was : red beans and rice, gumbo, blackened chicken, steak strips, sautéed shrimp. My only issue was the blackened chicken wasn't really blackened. The flavor was extremely good and it satisfied my Cajun hunger. We also decided to try the KARMA'S OPERA CREME CAKE. Over all it was a great experience and we would recommend this place. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and helpful. The atmosphere was very laid back and somewhat of a sports bar feel but we set right across from the bar. Fun, attentive, engaging, and gave us great recommendations throughout the evening. We started with the oysters, Skillet Cornbread, Pork Belly Skewer, and H20 Melon. The cornbread was, without a doubt, the best we've ever had. Subtly sweet, pillowy without being cakey, with this amazing sweet-savory depth. The whipped Steen's butter was the perfect complement. WOW! The pork belly was another standout. The coconut Alabama BBQ was rich and flavorful without being heavy. The melon was beautifully plated, and the country ham added the perfect salty contrast. The oysters were the only miss for me. They had a little more of that "fishy" quality than I prefer, but I'm admittedly particular about oysters. For dinner, the Jollof was flavorful and beautifully prepared. The Lamb Neck was a little gamier than I personally prefer, but my son clearly disagreed because he devoured it down to the bone. Then came the IBÉRICO. When I tell you how good this was...we finished it and ordered a SECOND one! The pork with corn maque choux, chimichurri, and lime was incredible. Rich, bright, savory, and beautifully balanced. Easily the star of the evening. We finished with the Key Lime semifreddo, which was light and airy. I also had a Paper Plane, a simple cocktail that many places surprisingly don't get right. Nolia nailed it. Fresh citrus, quality ingredients, and perfectly balanced. I also loved the hospitality. The chef greeting guests as they arrive is such a small thing, but it immediately makes the experience feel warm and personal. Between the food, Henry's service, the cocktails, and the hospitality, this was such a lovely place to celebrate my son. If you haven't been to Nolia, GO. And order the Ibérico.
