My sister and I came to this restaurant last summer and it was amazing. So we decided to try it again. Made reservations for 2 and had dinner before we went to the movies next-door to see TAR, the movie. My sister ordered Pasta Limone (choice of grilled chicken or shrimp, white wine garlic lemon sauce, tomato, basil, pecorino) and a house salad. Salad was meh. She didn't like it so I finished it...I was starving. The PASTA LIMONE said NOTHING about it being spicy and she hates spicy food. I love spicy food so I tasted it and it was SCREAMINGLY HOT and I can eat jalapeños whole! It also came with dried chicken which had no flavor. That was her dinner. I ordered the Pan-Seared Snapper (roasted brussels sprouts, butternut squash purée, topped with lobster and an apple & fennel slaw.) Worst fish I ever ate. THE WORST. Butternut squash? What? There may have been 1/2 tsp. and it had NO flavor. Where was the lobster and slaw? Don't know. The brussel sprouts tasted like dirt. The server was nice but didn't see much of her. Visited Emery on a Tuesday Night with coworkers and we had part of the upstairs reserved for us. We started with some drinks, I opted for the Tahona which was Patron Silver Tequila, cucumber, ginger syrup, fresh lemon juice, and lime. This drink was super refreshing and light, but at the same time was semi-strong! We then ordered some appetizers to share - Whipped Feta, Crispy Brussel Sprouts, and Shrimp Cocktail. The brussels were cooked perfectly crispy, and the the shrimp were tasty too! For my entrée I had the Seared Scallops & Crispy Pork Belly with roasted Brussels sprouts, Granny Smith apple puree, and apple-fennel salad, as well as the Emery House Salad which was mixed greens, Tillamook white cheddar, tomato, onion, bacon lardons, sweet & sour vinaigrette. The Scallops melted in your mouth, the sauce on them as delicious, and the salad came with huge chunks of crispy bacon on them - I left feeling very full and happy from a great meal! Pricier doesn't always mean better flavor or food, but at Emery it does. The whipped feta app melted on the taste buds. My pork tenderloin was juicy and cooked to a perfect pink. The deserts were off the hook. The donut holes with the doughy center, and the chocolate ganache. One of our party had significant food allergies and Emery accommodated them all. We, two of us, had the lobster, shrimp and crab BLT roll and then shared an apple tart. The lobster roll was delicious and the apple tart a bell ringer. This verdict was shared by both of us. The ambiance is nice in a pleasant location in the center of the town(I'm guessing) and what I would describe as a French Normandy architectural style. The service was excellent. Our shared take on the Margarita(s) we got was it was just too sweet. Since I live in Arizona I certainly have experienced a ton of Margaritas and none came close to this hyper sweetness. It's my guess most people will share this opinion of those Margaritas there. Attended a business dinner party of 10 Tuesday night. Never been here before and the neighborhood is quite nice and has charm. They seated us in our private room and was a nice atmosphere to talk amongst each other. Half of the party ordered the scallops with pork belly, and the others had the braised short ribs. Nobody complained and we were all totally satisfied. My scallops were prepared perfectly, and the other ingredients were tasty fresh and flavorful. I would order again! All I can say for me it was a delicious dinner and the Emery crew did a really good job taking care of a large party. This absolutely has to be one of the best restaurants in the Cincinnati area. My fiancé and I wanted to have a special date night and we decided to make reservations here. Even though we don't live super far away, we don't frequently go to Mariemont (though dropping by here last night convinced us we need to do so more often!). The interior of the restaurant is beautiful - I want to hire their interior designer for my place!! It is very homey and we were greeted at the door and led upstairs to our table. I started with the elderflower and pear cocktail and it was fabulous. I loved the garnishes in the glass and the drink was very well-balanced. As for the food - my fiancé and I love splitting a few courses so we can try and enjoy several dishes. We started with the lump crab cake and it was fabulous. It wasn't a super crusty crab cake so if you prefer that I wouldn't necessarily go for this dish. It was a softer and more tender crab cake with a citrus and arugula salad on the side. The burnt lemon half that came with it brightened the whole dish. We then moved to the Twin Filets - and I am normally not a big beef person, but this is most certainly going to be my exception. On the menu it reads very simple but every component was perfect. It had 2 4-ounce filets with mashed potatoes, broccolini, and a demi glaze. This has to be the best beef dish I have ever had and I will absolutely come back to have this again. If it was socially acceptable to lick a plate - I would have done that here! To finish off, we got the apple tart. Versus having a shortbread-like crust, this had a puff pastry crust which I LOVED! It made it so instead of having a heavy dessert to wrap up a dinner - you get a sweet fix that is a bit lighter. Overall - everything here was absolutely fabulous. Normally when we get a few courses, some sing more than others but this is one of the few dinners we have had where every course was truly delightful. The Emery is by far our favorite restaurant in the local area. They have an excellent, but small wine list! The food is always prepared well with interesting combinations. The service was a bit slow, however, that's not always the case. Another team member tried to help which is great service! The Halibut was excellent with a citrusy microgreen topping, balanced with carrot carry puree and veggies. I'm not a fan of extra carbs so the potatoes we're swept to the side. My husband tried the lobster, crab, shrimp BLT which was surprisingly goodnot heavy, until he kept with fries (it was his birthday). I did try one frie and they were nicely done, salt and thickness. Our starter was the whipped feta, which is solo good. I will sacrifice bread for this. Our first breads were too chewy, so they swapped them for fresh grilled with apologies. To top it off they brought my husband free dessert of their donuts with chocolate & Carmel sauce for dipping. I didn't partake, but he said they were excellent! After dinner, we had a drink at their ipsy bar, which we never knew was there. Cozy and swanky! Bartender Carla was very friendly. Look who's new in town! I first spotted Emery from another influencer on Instagram, and decided I had to give them a try. I'm glad I did. I will say Emery was decent. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't say it competes with other restaurants I like that make similar dishes. There were some dishes that were amazing and others that needed some work. Also, their customer service and hospitality is awesome. Our waiter was Jimmy and he was absolutely fantastic! He knew the dishes and could answer questions and make suggestions. He was also tentative. We started with drinks and appetizers. My husband ordered a glass of wine and I ordered the Elderflower & Pear. My husband enjoyed his wine. I really liked my cocktail. I'm a person who likes sweeter drinks. This was a good balance of sweet and not sweet. It is more on the sweeter side but not overly sweet. It also has a nice flavor from the pear. It taste just like a pear. It was pretty good! We both ordered side salads. My husband ordered the Baby Kale Salad and I ordered the Emery House Salad. The Kale salad was their version of a Caesar Salad. It was good. The Emery House Salad was bomb! It has greens, bacon lardons, onions, tomatoes, cheese and sweet & sour dressing. This salad is simple in its ingredients but very flavorful. The dressing and bacon lardons make this salad. We also ordered the Whipped Feta. It was served with Sourdough Bread from Sixteen Bricks. This app was aaahhhmazing! Very flavorful and the bread was grilled to perfection. We both decided to order fish for our dinner entrees, but two different fish dishes. My husband ordered the Blackened Red Ruby Trout and I ordered the Sixty South Salmon and we shared. We enjoyed the Salmon a little better than the Trout. Everything that was included in the salmon dish played together nicely to make a delicious cohesive dish. The celery root added a tangy creamy flavor and texture. That along with the salmon went well with the couscous. The apple slaw added a nice crunch element. In our opinion the trout dish was lacking a little in flavor. Also, the ravioli is what made that dish. If it didn't have the ravioli, we don't think we would have liked it as much. It wasn't bad but it didn't give us the wow factor. Of course we couldn't leave without dessert. We ordered the donut holes and shared them with our children. The donut holes were very good. They were served fresh and warm and with a side of caramel and chocolate sauce. The caramel was my favorite side sauce. We all enjoyed their donuts. The donuts are also Gluten Free. Also, Emery is kid-friendly. They have a kid's menu, kid's cups as well as high chairs. Overall, we had a good experience at Emery. My wife and I had a fantastic dinner date at Emery. The vibe was classy and romantic but still casual. Upon arriving, we were immediately greeted by a very friendly hostess named Jasmine who escorted us to our upstairs table. We were impressed by the decor, from the fun wallpaper to the vibrant fish tank in the center of the room. Our server James was exceptional. The only thing that surpassed his impressive knowledge of the menu was his sincere friendliness. His appetizer recommendations of the whipped feta and hamachi crudo were the perfect beginning to a wonderful meal. The halibut and steak and shrimp entrees were also delicious. My family and I have been there twice since they recently opened and it has become one of our new favorite restaurants! The atmosphere feels intimate, and a perfect amount of class. They have dining rooms and a cocktail bar upstairs and a more casual pub area downstairs with additional menu selections, though you can order from either menu wherever you are seated. The cocktails are fantastic- we've tried all except the grapefruit and basil, which our server added was very basil-forward, and the rye & ginger. The Tahona is refreshing and perfect if you like tequila- you can really taste the ginger but it's not overpowering. The rum punch is my favorite- that and the elderflower & pear are fairly sweet and boy are they delicious. The old-fashioned was well-made, and the lemon meringue cocktail was my mother's favorite- it tasted like dessert! All of the flavors in each dish were balanced and complemented to perfection. The crab cakes were the best I've had, and I'm not typically a fan of them. The whipped feta is surely a favorite- a delicious mix of savory, sweet, and spicy. The salmon was some of the best I've had, very flavorful. I'm not usually a fan of celery but the celery puree and apple salad it is garnished with was just perfect and delicious. As a pescetarian, during my first visit I branched out to try the cauliflower steak- cauliflower being a bland vegetable to begin with, they did a great job of turning it into a delicious dish. While they are a seafood restaurant, the vegetarian in your group will probably enjoy this dish. My family had positive reviews of the walleye, trout, and steak. The shrimp tagliatelle had the perfect amount of spice, but don't expect a classic rich, Italian pasta because it wasn't made to be that- it is light and fresh! All of the desserts are delicious, my favorite being the cheesecake. The flavor at the moment is orange and it is refreshing! All in all, I have zero complaints. They've put a lot of thought into the menu and dishes. The staff is all very friendly, attentive, and want you to have the best experience possible. Add this gem to your list!! Although we added two people to the reservation at the last minute, they were helpful arranging a table to barely hold us. I had put in the reservation we had a birthday and the bartender told our guest of honor to enjoy the cake; but at the end of dinner the waitress--who had not provided very prompt or attentive service all along--told us they don't have cake and just asked us if we wanted to order dessert. Before being served, we had to get up to ask for help a couple of times because our waitress just seemed to hang around the bar for some reason. Most of the food was decently prepared; but for over two hundred dollars I expected excellent service, so not the best value in town. read more

Experienced this great new place on Mariemont Square last night. Had one of the best Grapefruit & Basil Martini , they are a fav of mine. Enjoyed scallops with roasted brussel sprouts for dinner. Scallops were cooked perfectly and very tender. Atmosphere was good as well, they have tables as well as circular booths. There are 2 bar areas, one on first floor and one on the second floor. Tried the Emery first time on Valentine's Day 2/14/23. The food was good but we were seated downstairs where it really lacks ambience. It took me a few minutes to figure out there was a second floor! The second floor is where you feel like the price for the food and the surroundings meet. Probably won't be back since it is a 45 minute drive for us and being almost 70. I wish I had known that the second floor existed and we could have been seated up there. The first floor just seems like a place to have lunch. Good food not great atmosphere on the first floor fir what we paid. Just disappointed. read more
