Now that I've had the opportunity to visit the new location of Eloise, I'm super happy about the changes and everything they're bringing to this side of town. Let's be honest, now that I'm in my 30s there are times when you want a bomb-ass cocktail but have absolutely zero desire to drive towards downtown or Utep area. Eloise answers my liquid thirst for a great cocktail or drink with a casual vibe that has some unique flair to the space. There is plenty of space now at Eloise and they can accommodate a larger crowd while still holding onto that neighborhood bar/eatery vibe. Not the easiest to accomplish tbh! What really stood out to me was their infusion program and the variety of infusions they have for their signature cocktails. To see the big infusion jars in action on their back wall is always a fun moment. My boyfriend really enjoyed their Mexican Martini and I was a fan of an old fashioned. Didn't have a chance to try their food menu, but everyone around me seemed to really enjoy their plates. I kept eyeing their nachos and fries lol. Music is super laid back and at a volume wher eyou can have a solid conversation. The staff here is super nice and really engaging which was a bonus moment. read more

I spent $48.00 for my husband and I for a late lunch. My husband is vegan and I am vegetarian. Thank goodness I had the happy hour beer and vegan nachos fries for $11.00 or I would have spent a lots more for this mediocre food. We also order the vegan burger which was dry and lack seasoning. Very little sauce on the burger and the salad was lacking salads dressing. We also ordered the tasteless spinach empanada. The spinach leaves were cooked whole and it all fell out when I broke it in half. It should have been chopped for easy eating and more seasoning applied. After reading the great reviews on Yelp I was so disappointed in this restaurant. I don't mine paying for delicious food but this didn't even come close to my expectations. Cutest atmosphere with friendly servers! The restaurant/bar itself is fairly large and decorated cutely for photo-ops. Their vegan options are great, and almost everything on the menu is vegetarian/vegan friendly. We decided to order the vegan nachos and empanadas to share. Our server suggested that they enjoyed the impossible meat empanadas more than the spinach, so we got two of those. They were crispy and full of flavor. The nachos were huge!! They gave us such a big serving, we could only eat a small sliver before taking it to-go. I went with the pub burger with brie. The homemade fries paired with it were absolutely divine, they weren't too crispy and paired well with their gochujang sauce (requested) The burger itself was a bit dry since I couldn't taste much brie and it didn't come with any creamy sauce. However, you can always request those + other toppings on the side which I eventually did. All in all, a delicious spot if you're looking for vegan friendly options. I would not normally want to ding a small business by giving it a less than stellar review, but I felt I needed to share my experience here. My daughter is vegan, and was in town for a very sad occasion. We were looking for somewhere to eat before the service, and found this place on Happy Cow. We walked in at around 4:40pm on a Thursday. The place looked really cool, and we were happy to find that it was empty, except for a few staff members. We were quickly seated, which was good. At least 10-15 minutes later, the server, a nice enough guy, came to take our drink orders. He didn't ask us about food, but instead, quickly left to get the drinks. (We ordered one soda and two lattes.) FIFTEEN MINUTES later, he brought the drinks, then walked away. He still didn't ask us about food, and the place was still empty. We have now been here for over 30/40 minutes, and no one has come to take our order. At any other restaurant, we would have already been eating. (FYI: The lattes were very mediocre and bitter. My daughter, a former barista, said they tasted like the beans had been in the machine too long.) I finally stood up and twisted around in my booth to catch the server's eye, and to let him know we needed to be somewhere by 6:00pm, so we really needed to order. it was now roughly 5:20pm and we were stressed. At this point, there were probably about two or three other patrons at the bar. Even with them there, there were still more staff than patrons, so there was absolutely no visible excuse for this horrible service, and worse yet: the server was completely unapologetic. The food finally came at around 5:35/40pm. By the time the food arrived, we had been there for CLOSE TO AN HOUR! As a result, rather than to have a nice, calm, peaceful meal before my father's funeral service, we ate as quickly as we could, rushing to be out of there on time. And we were late. : ' ( At any rate, the reason I'm giving this restaurant a 3-star review, instead of a 1- or 2-star review based on the service, was that the food was actually rather good. We were all pleasantly surprised with our choices. We were also happy to see that there are a lot of vegan options. In summary: I'm really not sure what the ridiculously slow, super delayed service was about. Is that their "vibe"? Do they think it's hip to take an hour to serve the only seated table at a restaurant? Or is everyone just... I don't know... high? The server didn't appear to be high, but I seriously can't think of another reason our visit played out this way. Oh, well. I'll never know. All I know is that most (80%) small businesses shut down after 2-5 years, not because they aren't viable, but because they are poorly run. And this was one of the most poorly run small businesses I've been to in a long time, so I can only wish them well. Either way, I will only return if my daughter comes back to town, and if we have a LOT of time to spare sitting around doing nothing. The ambiance is "different", with a somewhat dive-bar feel, but the food is phenomenal! The beet hummus was very good, the pub burger with brie was amazing and full of flavor, along with the artichoke, butter bean, cucumber salad, and the alpine salad with steak tips was flavorful and robust. You can tell the ingredients are carefully thought out, and the chef takes pride in their craft. If you want a very pleasant surprise, you need to check these guys out. read more

This is hands down my favorite restaurant in El Paso. As a vegetarian there are typically 2 dishes per restaurant we try that I can eat... but Eloise has a vegetarian ( if not vegan) option for basically everything on their menu so I have been able to try so many other dishes! We love the shishito peppers, chips with guac or vegan cheese for appetizers, and have gotten their full nachos with bean sausage as an entree before. Entrees I loved: the "BLT" with seitan which is on this amazing homemade focaccia, hatch green chili curry, zucchini noodles with seitan, empanadas, and hsinchu noodle bowl are all dishes we have repeated. The burger is also very good; I just go for other options at Eloise. This is a vegetarian paradise in El Paso. I really need to come back for brunch... and maybe save room for dessert at some point :) read more

Wanted a vegan meal and decided to try Eloise out as it had really great reviews. The seating area is really awesome both inside and outside with a long bar inside and a few tables outside. Honestly just great vibes. The French press coffee was really good as well. $2 for a cup and I honestly will probably come back just for the coffee. The Noodle Bowl with Tofu was a little pricey. $16 for an item of food that honestly wasn't the best. The broth just tasted like spicy water and needed some sriracha to make it have a consistent flavor. The ingredients tasted really fresh and the tofu was nice and firm, but their just was not a lot of flavor to the bowl. I can't really justify paying this amount for it being slightly above average. Overall, the atmosphere and coffee is definitely going to bring me back, but I'm hoping the food experience will be just a little better next time. read more

How did it take me a year to find this place?! There is only outside service right now, so we dined al fresco and enjoyed an evening of quirky charm. Quickly, excellent service, wonderful food, good drink list. More in depth, food: We are often vegetarian so this place was a fun find. The bomber bites (Buffalo cauliflower) were so good we almost ordered a second round. The vinegar ranch dip that came with it-holy moly, I would buy that bottled and put it in all my Christmas gifts. I ordered the empenadas. Love each flavor! They tasted as house made as it comes. The fillings were seasoned perfectly and an excellent balance of filling to fried dough goodness. Only food complaint was that my poor wife was done with vegetarian and wanted a meat burger with the fries. The shoestring fries were soggy. The burger was way over cooked. Flavors were good though. It looks like they don't have liquor drinks right now? Or at least they were all crossed off the list. They looked good though! The wine list was meh, but the beer list was excellent! A pretty good sized list with your comfort beers and out of the box variety. Service: excellent. We were taken very good care of. Kiera was attentive and fun. She had several tables all by herself but she made it look easy. She gave suggestions and overall made the experience even that much better. We don't go out as often as we used to bc I got sick at the start of all this and we are very cautious now. So when we go out, we want it to be worth it. This was well worth our venturing out. It's a shame people can't sit inside right now (though I 100% agree with the owner about precautions), because it makes you feel like maybe you are princess in a magical kingdom. This doesn't affect my review but there is really nothing like hearing ur absolute favourite band, wherever u are. I demanded to know who was in charge of the music playlist. - the bar is intense: a myriad of wines, cocktails, beers, ciders... craft cocktails & common cocktails (that are ~5 & include. Mojito, Moscow mule, etc). The menu claims the staff is well-experienced w alcohol so there's a list of specialty additions (like blueberry tequila - which was amazing) & the menu asks what ur in the mood for (so the staff can make something in tune). - most options are either plant-based (vegan) or can be made so! - there is indoor & outdoor seating; outdoor might be better for groups cos I didn't see bigger tables inside. Outdoor front has two wooden long tables & 2 metal chairs with little round tables. - Indoor seating involves 2-person tables & a full bar with a pretty display of alcohol bottles - I called ahead asking if I can bring my dog & sit outside, the server brought my dog water :) & she wasn't the only pupperino there! - unsure if smoking/vaping is allowed directly In front on the patio, but the more private side patio that has maybe 4-6 2-person tables is labeled a non-smoking zone. Food: - the vegan chili w vegan queso & tortilla chips was AMAZING. I came here tonight for some cocktails and maybe an appetizer or two. The ambience was alright, they had a couple of tables and we were seated right away. Upon glancing at the menu I noticed there hasn't been a change to their cocktail menu since I was last here in the winter, bummer.... Half of their cocktails were hot drinks which in this hot weather no thank you. The drinks they did have on the menu were a bit uninteresting and didn't have much creativity put into them. It did however state on their menu that they had high cocktail knowledge so to ask what for what we were in the mood for. I was craving Mezcal and the only drink they had with Mezcal was hot chocolate, so no thanks. So I asked our server who was also the bartender if he could make me something refreshing with Mezcal like a Paloma or something. He stated he could make me a margarita with Mezcal, and I was like not very creative thinking, but I guess. My margarita came to the table and it was terrible, and that is an understatement. It tasted like nothing but straight lime juice, maybe a drop of sweet and sour and the Mezcal was nonexistent. It was so overwhelmingly sour that I could not even finish it. I even asked for half an orange to tone it down but that did not even work. He did come and ask if I wanted him to make it again, but I said no. I mean if you can't even make the most basic drink in a bartenders cocktail book I don't need you to make me another drink. My throat literally still burns from that drink and it's sad to say it wasn't the Mezcal. It is greatly disappointing because Eloise was once one of the most coveted cocktail bars in El Paso. It's sad that their creativity and quality has slowly dissipated over the years. I mean they couldn't even muster up a decent margarita, and that says a lot. We were looking for good vegan food while visiting ELP and stumbled upon Eloise. Super cute and bright restaurant with a full bar. We ordered the nachos, potato empanadas and bomber sandwich. Everything was delicious, and the bomber sandwich blew us away in flavor and texture! The bomber is a breaded and fried cauliflower steak with a Buffalo style sauce and creamy ranch. Killer! We came back a few days later for brunch. My husband order the biscuits and gravy and I ordered the bomber sandwich again. The biscuits and gravy were good but lacked any wow factor. Customer service is nice seated quickly (self seating anywhere you'd like). They have indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered a London fog latte they had non dairy option coconut milk and almond milk as well as soy. We ordered the empanadas which come in 3 different kinds, picadillo (vegan made with impossible), green chili asadero, green chili potato. Also ordered soup of the day which was tomato and cauliflower. And we also ordered the classic burger with the impossible patty. I appreciate that even their soda is a healthier alternative soda. Amen for healthy places. Everything was delicious ! Thank you Eloise you're awesome. By the way the taste in your mouth after is just amazing ! I am kicking myself for not asking our server his name personally but based on our receipt it is Timothy. He was excellent! Super welcoming and friendly and had a positive attitude the entire time we were there. He picked a beer for my husband and my husband said it was delicious. I absolutely loved the sign at the door as an indicator of the environment and it was right on the money! So welcoming and funky with great vibes! Portion sizes are GENEROUS you will definitely not leave hungry. Excellent view of a mountain from the patio or any table near the window. I loved this space on the outside of town. Three parlor rooms decorated in a warm and rustic way invite you to sit down, relax, and spend some time with your friends and family. There are board games to play while you wait for your food and plenty of delectable food and drink items to keep you busy for awhile. They have very unique menu items to choose from for dinner - truly something for everyone! I had the curry bowl and the pistachio torte for dessert. The torte was so generously portioned that I took half of it home and ate it at the airport the next day. It happened to be my birthday the day I was there so the server brought me one of their vegan chocolate chip cookies as well. I may have to switch to only eating vegan cookies after having that one! The vegan food here is really outstanding that I've been back just for the food and I'm from Los Angeles where there's a slew of vegan restaurants to choose from and if Eloise was located there, it'd be among the top 10. They also serve craft beer, our own local kombucha by Madre Kombucha and they also do their own infused hard liquors! It's all just awesome. I recently visited Eloise with a friend to study for finals, and it was probably one of the most productive days I had in a while. Location - Eloise is conveniently located close to Mesa St. and has plenty of parking. Ambiance - Eloise actually has two areas - a restaurant-y area and a more bar-esque area. I sat in the restaurant area and it was surprisingly quiet due to a door in between the two rooms. I could occasionally hear the live music coming through though during the evenings when the door was open and it sounded so fun and lively! Service - The service was great! Always attentive to our waters and they didn't mind too much that they were studying. Food - I had a chai latte and a nitro brew and they were both great. I was very excited about the nitro brew since I didn't even know El Paso had a place that offered it and I was not disappointed. My friend ordered one of the sandwiches and she said it was delicious. Pricing - Eloise is a bit pricey food-wise, but the menu is pretty unique. Overall, it was a good experience and I would highly recommend Eloise. I will be back to try some of their food and, of course, more of their nitro brew! read more

I stopped here for dinner on a road trip from Austin to SoCal recently and was stoked to find such a vegan friendly option in El Paso! I tried the nachos, buffalo cauliflower bomber, and a house salad. The vegan nachos were by far my favorite thing I tried -- the "cheese" sauce was and the pickled vegetables added a unique twist. 5 stars here! The buffalo bomber came in at a solid 4 stars. The house salad was extremely disappointing almost to the point of being inedible -- I had a couple bites and that was enough. The tomatoes tasted over ripe (slightly rotten), and the ratio of red onions to the rest was a little high. It sounded great on the menu so lots of potential here -- it just was not carried through on (on this particular night.) I love the space -- very quirky, colorful, and eclectic. A great (and spacious) inside seating and bar area, with additional seating in three different areas outside, all adorned with twinkle lights and lots of good vibes. If you're a vegan (...or a non vegan) passing through El Paso, I would definitely recommend Eloise! read more

So looking back at my last review, I'm surprised I only gave it 4 stars.. this place is my go-to spot for coffee, food, drinks, or just a nice patio to read on a sunny afternoon. Before leaving the country for a while, despite check-ins not reflecting, I was here at least once a week! A quick stop at the book store tonight, and I'm finally feeling back at home after sitting here reading a few pages while sipping my favorite martini. I've only ever been disappointed once (vegan lemon meringue is a bad idea, period).. but no complaints otherwise. Bar tenders and servers are always super friendly, never rude. The scene is always laid back, even during the later hours on weekends. And food and drinks are always spot on (except that one time..) So. UPDATE from the last review: Eloise definitely scores all 5 stars in my book. read more

The avocado toast was amazing. Definitely one of my favorites in town. They season it really well with the Aleppo pepper and whatever else they put on it! Cinnamon coffee cake is always very good. We stopped here on a long drive from Fredericksburg Tx to Arizona. The vegan options in west Texas are slim in general, so it was so refreshing to a see a menu with dozens of menu items that could be made vegan. We picked this place out when we were still 5 hours away and I kept checking my phone to see how close we were. I studied the menu and Yelp reviews and decided on the pub burger and pretzel bites, and my partner had the chili burger. SO DELICIOUS!! Great service and staff, cute quirky atmosphere. Tons of great coffee and drink options too! I only wish I snapped a few photos of the food before it quickly disappeared off our plates.
