We stopped here on a long drive from Fredericksburg Tx to Arizona. The vegan options in west Texas are slim in general, so it was so refreshing to a see a menu with dozens of menu items that could be made vegan. We picked this place out when we were still 5 hours away and I kept checking my phone to see how close we were. I studied the menu and Yelp reviews and decided on the pub burger and pretzel bites, and my partner had the chili burger. SO DELICIOUS!! Great service and staff, cute quirky atmosphere. Tons of great coffee and drink options too! I only wish I snapped a few photos of the food before it quickly disappeared off our plates. I don't know who the hell this Eloise person is, but she's got a whole lot going for her! Yesterday after a long nonsensical day I was totally beat and ready for bed by 8 pm, but was sucked in by the daunting world of Facebook and Instagram. By 9 I came to the realization I wasn't as tired as I was pretending to be, just extremely lazy. And right on queue the Text Message Gods delivered a message that was something to the tune of, "I want coffee. Do you want some coffee!" Yes, a coffee proposal was shouted at me...really not asking, just kind of letting me know I was getting coffee. But hey, I'm in. I happily jumped in the car believing we were going to some awesome undisclosed coffee heaven location, but immediately realized he had no idea where he wanted coffee from. Yelp to the rescue once again! Eloise was only a few minutes away from where we were, so we headed towards Shadow Mountain and found Eloise with no trouble. It was a Saturday so as you can imagine this place was packed with only a couple of tables open. We snagged one in the middle room in the corner closest to the bar area which originally looked like a good idea, but there really was so many other tables that service was a little slow. Totally forgivable though because every server/barista was more that happy to check on us while passing by. Even though I was now being a bit more active, I was still in a lazy state and didn't really look over the drink menu and just asked for a Latte when one of the baristas came over. I then quickly added, "Do you guys have anything Chai?" Directly under the Latte was a Chai Latte. In my best Homer Simpson voice: Doh! The baristas smile never faded as she pointed it out to me. After drinks, we lingered for a good hour or more and people watched with voice overs. A majority of the conversations going on (according to us) were about who had the gnarliest beard. The best vegan nachos I've ever had. Seriously. The nacho "cheese" is perfect, has anyone at Eloise considered making a Mac and cheese dish with that sauce?? Also the "beef" on their nachos, which I'm pretty sure was cauliflower was crazy good too. I also had their empanadas which, like the nachos; were delicious. That dish was huuuuge which I was not expecting. But I'm not mad about it. My husband got the pub burger which he didn't like, maybe if he got the vegan patty it would have been better? I heard great things about this veg- friendly place, but ultimately left disappointed... along with 2 of my 3 dinner companions. The place is cute and the outdoor seating looked great for a slightly warmer day. We started with the vegetarian empanadas which the 2 meat eaters, the former vegetarian, and I (the current asks long time veg) all thought were delicious, as well a really good sized portion. Three of us ordered the buffalo cauliflower sandwich, because how could you not? This is where the meal kinda tanked. We had all envisioned small pieces of cauliflower, likely fried, tossed in buffalo sauce and piled into a hoagie roll with some ranch dressing. I still want that sandwich. What we received, however, was very different. We got a breaded, fried cauliflower steak on a a sliced roll that could barely hold it. It was very greasy, likely due to how long you'd need to fry something that thick. Most surprising was the need to ask for buffalo sauce. If there was any already present, it was av tiny amount and completely overwhelmed by the ranch. I was disappointed to spend that kind of money on this sandwich. If they changed it up it could be a winner, but a it stands it's a greasy cauliflower dud! read more

Super cute atmosphere. If you're going to get anything there get the vegan nachos, they are SO BOMB! My husband and I can't stop thinking about them. We've been there twice and other than the vegan nachos, collectively we've had the empanadas, cauliflower sandwich, curry bowl, and noodle bowl. Out of that list, I think the empanadas and noodle bowl were the best but my husband really enjoyed my curry bowl better. The cauliflower and which would be freaking phenomenal if they either made them into cauliflower bites or cut the cauliflower thinner so the flavor soaks up and cauliflower cooks more evenly. I liked the empanadas but they honestly needed more flavor in the filling. The curry and noodle bowl had a slight sour taste to me and I felt needed more flavor too, also a tad salty. Otherwise everything was good! Love that there's so many vegan options. Drinks wise I had their rose mojito and margarita. I didn't like the rose mojito, way too sour and not enough mojito. Eloise is a small bar/cafe that serves a variety of inventive vegan cuisine, espresso and coffee drinks, and a full complement of cocktails, draft, and bottled beer. The menu changes seasonally, and they have multiple seating areas, including traditional bar seating, booths, tables, and a patio area. Ambiance: If I could describe the ambiance, it would be chill. People come here to play board games, to have a drink, and even to study or work. What surprises me about Eloise is that its environment is able to do all of these things and not compromise. The main room is large enough that it doesn't feel crowded, and the noise level remains minimal, only a quiet backing track playing in the background. Food and drink: I had the opportunity to sample their grilled cheese and green curry, which were very well made. The grilled cheese was made with a nice thick piece of bread, and the curry was a perfect dipping soup to complement it. The desserts look really good as well, and like I mentioned earlier, Eloise prides itself on its vegan dishes, something rare to find in El Paso. The cocktails are extremely well made, and you can tell they put a lot of thought into their creation. They have a couple beers on tap, including a local one from dead beach. I wasn't able to try any espresso drinks, but their coffee menu is absolutely gigantic; coffee drinkers would love this place. All in all, Eloise does a fantastic job of being what it wants to be. Omagosh! Where to begin... First off, I gotta say I visit this little piece of heaven to eat not to drink so I can't speak in regards to the adult beverages. Now for the food... I visit this place as much as I can even though I live in the far east, the drive is ALWAYS worth it. Just about anything on the menu can be made vegan and wow... what a treat! El Paso is still close minded about the vegan thing so this idea makes this place even more special. The service is always great and the place is charming. My daughter mentioned it being "indie" so i guess we will go with that. I visited for Mother's Day and had the French Toast and Chilquiles. Wowsa! Tri d the Pueblo Problano as well and yummmm... Cannot say enough! The coffee always rocks and in Sunday, enjoy a "manmosa" w your food! Old time favorite is the Menudon't. You gotta try it! Its so amazing you will not miss the meat version. I think Eloise is my favorite coffee shop in town, their espresso is beautiful and every single one of their lattes is fantastic. They have fancy meets hip aesthetic and I adore the pink walls. Such a great and unique menu, and they have chef features that change weekly. Only remark I might make is that it is a little pricey for a sandwich ($15). Happy hour is from 3-6pm if you're interested. I haven't had any of their cocktails since I usually come to study here but I have heard that they are great. read more

This place is a little bit of a rip off, not gonna lie to you. I'm vegan, had the noodle bowl ($16) and it really lacked in flavor, spicy yes, flavor tho? Not really. They give you a lot of noodles but barely any of the vegetables that's listed with it, which wouldn't be so disappointing if the sauce wasn't so bland. The drinks are cool cause they do these in house made rums, but my drink was 9 dollars and there was maybe 3 oz of it, and very light handed with the alcohol. It was very tasty but 2 sips of this sugary lemonade and it was gone with my buzz nowhere to be found. My date got the burger, buns were dry and it was just okay. All in all, felt a little bit like i got robbed tbh, i mean the sides alone were 6 - 8 dollars, I just think that's disrespectful. Will say their fries were real good though. read more

Been to this place three times now. Their menudon't is really good and I plan to frequently visit just for that. I also tried their turkey sandwich which wasn't that bad, but I wouldn't order again. Eloise Bar is a good place to hang out if you want to experience common foods that are cooked differently. It's also a good place to relax. I've had different foods from here. My favorite so far are the chocolate chip cookies. They're crunchy and thick but have a great and soft texture. My second favorite menu item is the grilled cheese with French fries. Their bread is soft and tastes homemade. It could use a little bit more flavor but it's not bad at all. The cheese is stringy and literally melts in your mouth. The bread almost does too. The fries are also very tasty and seem homemade. I wasn't too crazy about their burgers but they're ok. If you're expecting a meaty, seasoned burger, you may be disappointed. Eloise is always clean. The staff is always courteous and quick. They always play cool music, usually stuff you don't hear anymore or stuff you've never heard before. Their music choices vary. They play Prince, other 80s hits, etc. Another fun thing about Eloise is that you can play cards, Dominos and/or board games. I have yet to see this at other El Paso places. A+ experience here so far. I always mean to take photos but eat the food before I get around to it. I wouldn't recommend Eloise if you're on a tight budget. read more

This place has great food. I got the noodle bowl, and my buddy got the curry. WiFI allows me to work for a bit, and there even are available power plugs by most tables so I was able to keep my laptop charged. To top it all off the staff is super friendly. I'll address the elephant in the room and admit, this is a hipster ambient venue. But it is more than that. It is how you take it. I always wished for a trendy place to chill and do work. For a while, I was starved from that option. And then Eloise came around. They have good food and have chef's features or select nights for special items, like vegan food, but their alcoholic beverage are what makes you come back for more. They have an excellent of draft beers to choose at very good prices. They also have some craft liquor (such as raspberry rum with actual raspberries within their jars of rum). It isn't loud or shoulder-to-shoulder with people. It is a great place to get a good lunch, meet up with friends, or a chilled place to detox from a heavy week. read more

We stopped at Eloise after hiking for three days in TX and NM. The food was absolutely delicious and the cocktails are unique and very tasty, including house-infused liquors. They have a great selection of food for everyone, including a wide selection of vegan and vegetarian options. Several fully vegan items are available already on the menu and there are clearly marked customizations available for almost every other item on the menu to make it vegan or vegetarian. Great option for healthier meals in El Paso. It's nice that they have options for vegans and non-vegans a like. They also usually have a good beer selection. We stopped here for lunch and it was by far and away the best food of our trip and some of the best plant based food I've ever had. I had went today with my wife and a couple of our friends for the first time and I truly love this place. We just had moved from Nevada to El Paso about a week ago and I was concerned with the vegan options obviously in Texas as it can be kind of questionable since Texas is meat central. I love this place because my wife and I are vegan but our friends aren't, so it was a wonderful place that literally caters to everyone. It's such a cute, quaint little place. The food and the service was absolutely amazing. I had the Impossible Burger which was everything. (Sorry, I forgot all the fancy names) i thought the greens for salmon could've been cooked bit longer to lessen the bitterness but I am not a chef. What do I know. Salmon, perfect. Dirty rice, perfect. Cuban sandwich, simple not too greasy, three bean salad, might have needed a little more acidic kick? Hot amarynth, basically tiny quinoa cooked in coconut milk and honey topped with fruit... So good! My fiance liked that the best. Server was nice and cool.
