We have not been here in 3 years but decided to give it another go. The food choices were good, not too expensive. I noticed the place is mostly filled with people in gym clothing and will cell phones in hand, recording themselves..influencers...meh There was an odd smell in the building, and I only figured it out as we were leaving. It is a bit bothersome, to say the least. I really think they need to tone down the use of bathroom odorizers (you know, those things you stick on the wall, and they cover the bathroom smell) because that was the smell. Also they are in dire need of cleaning the a/c vents, as they were grossly covered in dust and dirt. The service was OK. What a lovely little cafe, nestled amongst shops and offices in a strip mall. The address is Viscount Ave but the cafe faces the expressway. I arrived around 11:45 and the place was hopping. I, fortunately, was seated very promptly. Others behind me had a bit of a wait. Thankfully there was no music and no TV's. I was in heaven. I placed my order for an Antioxidant smoothie (blueberries, bananas, etc.) and the sandwich and soup combination. I chose Cream of Cilantro soup and a grilled salmon sandwich. I only read two pages in my book when the smoothie arrived. Wow! It was delicious. I tried not to gulp it down so that I could truly enjoy all the flavors. Very, very good. I picked up my book once more to distract myself from the smoothie and I got several pages read before my food arrived. I am a fast reader so that tells me the wait time for my food to arrive was short. My soup and sandwich came in a very clever one piece dish. After admiring the dish I tucked into the soup. The Cream of Cilantro and squash soup was lovely. Smooth, well seasoned and very tasty. My grilled salmon sandwich was delicious. Fresh and very tasty. I highly recommend this little cafe. PHENOMENAL! OMFG T COASTERS IS EFFING PHENOMENAL! I don't care about healthy. I don't care about vegan or vegetarian. All I care about is tasty and T Coasters is flipping tasty so it's just an added bonus that it's a healthy food alternative. I'm not going to go as far as to say it's zero calories, zero carbs, zero sodium healthy, but it sure is a hell of a lot healthier than a sandwich from Subway and 62 times tastier. I seriously used to live a minutes walk away from this place, but in the span of time that I lived in the vicinity I never made it to TC. This may be my only regret in life. I'll tell you now, the outside is completely misleading...you just expect a whole hell of a lot less. The shopping center it's in (although they are moving in the near future) just gives of this dingy, hole-in-the-wall feel to it. The inside of TC is charming and colorful. They play a mix of today's pop and a few "older" songs (I didn't hear anything from any earlier than 2009). Just a cool ambiance. And the clientele was a mix of middle class folks, college kids, security guards, scrubs (you know those in some kind of medical profession) and hipsters. So just a big ol' mix of people. The place was poppin'. I set out specifically to try TC 'cause it's just been too long to say I've never been to this place. I took a seat at one of the tables closest to the door and scanned the menu. There's about 5 or 6 half pages, but only 2-5 items listed on each page. I still flipped through it about 8 times. The solo waitress came to take our drink orders and we both decided on smoothies. When in Rome, right? I went with the Super Antioxidant. It was perfect. Not too sweet and not missing anything either. The Antioxidant is loaded with buuuuuuuuuries. I would definitely recommend this if you need a fruity detox and at $2.99 a pop, this can be an everyday thing. Oh and I just want to touch on the 'solo waitress'. I think she does a fantastic job handling all the tables and honestly working in such a tight space, I think it would be too chaotic to have more than one server. On her next arrival we decided to order. 82% of the time, I'm not actually ready to order, but I hate making people in my party wait on me so I just say what ever item is in front of my face when the server looks at me. I landed on the Shrimp with steamed veggies, mashed potatoes and Cilantro Soup ($6.99). My soup came first and while I have never even thought of making cilantro into a soup, let me say...I never want to eat soup that is not Cilantro Soup! Super creamy (I have a sneaking suspicion it is made with sour cream) and not too cilantro-y. When my shrimp with veggies came, I may have started dipping the broccoli and carrots in the soup. The shrimp was cooked with simple seasonings, but was extremely flavorful and great in the tangy dip it was served with. The mashed potatoes were simple mashed taters, but it completed the dish perfectly. It's been said that I eat to much and it seems to boggle people how I stay so skinny. Here's the secret: The more you eat, the more you chew. The more you chew, the more calories you burn. I have no scientific proof of this, but it sounds right. Just think about it. So for good measure we went ahead and ordered the strawberry cheesecake. The strawberry cheesecake is topped with strawberry marmalade deliciousness. Okay maybe it's not a marmalade because it has a jam consistency, but the specs of strawberry led to the name. Coming here to T-Coasters for the second time was hard to not compare with the healthy restaurants from Seattle/Tacoma. I'm not sure if it was the day, but the service was really bad and I felt unwelcome as soon as I walked in. Our server was bland, and they didn't refill our waters or check on us ONCE. They weren't attentive and it just isn't the service that I'm used to receiving cause I would never get bland service from Seattle/Tacoma area.. maybe it's a cultural difference but... not satisfied. The food on the other hand was really good and it really sticks to its theme of healthy food!! The chicken chipotle sandwich, the fat burner smoothie and the cilantro soup are all really good options if it's your first time coming here!! I recommend the fat burner smoothie but it is very very sour so watch out!! On the ambient tho!!!! It's waaaaay tooooo DARK in here!! For a vegan place the ambient feels more of a bar and it really doesn't match the food theme very well. You would expect a bright lit place when sipping on a super green smoothie but that's not the case.. all the windows are covered with thick black curtains and it's kind of really contradicts the health and energetic feeling you get from eating the food!!! Drawbacks: I wish that it was indicated on the menu that when they say "yogurt," they actually mean pink, flavored, imitation yogurt. I would have liked a side of genuine yogurt to accompany my fruit. Oh well-- room for improvement! I grabbed breakfast with a friend here the other day, and was generally pleased with what I found. The restaurant brands itself as a "healthy food type place," which I found to be mostly true (sans the imitation yogurt). Otherwise, though, I quite liked the food I received. For a hearty and healthy lunch option, I always like coming here to T Coasters. It's very convenient for me and not far from my job! Today, I decided to go Vegan. For lunch I had the Avovado Veggie Sandwich, a cup of Cilantro Soup, and to drink I had the All Green Smoothie! Yes, the bread was Vegan on my sandwich and nicely toasted! It was my first time trying this bread and was impressed. They use plenty of avocado slices along with fresh spinach, lettuce, nice slices of tomatoes, and they put a shmear of their delicious spinach spread! Those of you who love Cilantro will enjoy the cup of cilantro soup. They blend fresh cilantro with sour cream, Iight sour cream, and they use a summer squash, all makes for a delicious soup! My Smoothie was the All Green which consists of cucumbers, celery, broccoli, pineapple juice, the menu says only 145 calories, which is great, plus plenty of fiber! This place also serves breakfast, but, I wish they would close later. But, I guess it can be a good thing that they probably don't want people eating after 5! This restaurant pretentiously masquerades as health food. Unfortunately most of the soups and salads that they offer are not organic. Their smoothies are not organic even though they are not a corporate outfit. To make things worse they don't even offer filtered tap water. So you know that all of their soups are made with toxic El Paso water. El Paso water is a health hazard if it is not filtered. El Paso water contains lead and arsenic. When I discussed the Lac of available purify tap water with one of the waiters he offered me a non environmentally friendly plastic bottle of water. And when I asked him if the water in the soup was also toxic unfiltered Municipal El Paso water, he explained to me that the city of El Paso had come to talk with the owner to talk about filtration because the city is aware of the problem. The owner does not care about the health of his clientele the owner refused the city's help or advice and has chosen not to filter any of his water. It is not the seventies it is not a time where we can just act like there isn't a problem forcing people to purchase plastic bottles that wind up killing wildlife that wind up using uptmore natural gas and that screw up the environment. According to the environmental working group many conventionally grown fruits and vegetables are known to be carcinogenic. The owner of this business is not concerned about the health and well-being of his clientele or of his patrons. He is proceeding ignorantly with a very outmoded business model. I am very disappointed that I can't get soup that won't kill me. read more

They hook it up too. The eggs were fluffy and good. It's the whole wheat pancakes that I was impressed with. Even though they're whole wheat, they were still fluffy and full of flavor. At $2.99 you don't get a deal, you get a steal. I complimented my breakfast platter with one of their protein shakes, which consisted of mainly peanut butter and low fat yogurt.
