This was a mixed bag for my husband and I. It was fun to try as the dishes were creative and made in-house but we didn't love all of them. We both did like the red pozole so much that we decided to try the green as well. The green was so sour we became convinced something was wrong with it. The shishito peppers were good and I liked the cacao aioli they were served with. The bang bang broccoli had a nice crunch but the sauce was too sweet and you could barely taste the broccoli, was mosty the breading. We ended it with the passion fruit Tres Leche Cake. There was a lemon flavor in it that didn't fit well in my opinion. Neither of us could taste any passion fruit. Our visit was in Nov 2024. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. Just enjoyed a delicious lunch at this pleasant cafe on Mesa. I enjoyed Avery delicious grilled chicken sandwich w/aolie, pickles, lettuce on a bun accompanied with a large order of seasoned french fries. Service was exceptional and Julia was very pleasant. She answered all of my concerns and was quick to make sure I was satisfied . The hour was about 2pm and there was a group of women enjoying their lunch and a young man who dined on a bowl of Pozole. I believe I'll try that the next time I lunch there. The menu is varied so I think many patrons would have a great selection and the prices affordable . As to the ambience .... I have been wanting to try this place for some time. I don't eat out much, but we finally got the opportunity to try this place. When we arrived, there were two people behind the counter that asked us if we were going to eat in. We said yes, and we asked if we could sit outside. They said yes. They didn't move from their spot, and since we had never been here, we were a bit confused, do we wait to be seated, or do we sit ourselves? we didn't really know what to do so we went outside and sat down. There were three other tables that already had food. The waiter/waitress, not sure, brought us the menu. They were very kind, brought us some water and took our order. 15 minutes after we ordered, a young woman came to our table without looking at us set a menu down didn't say anything, just stood there looking at the other tables. After a bit, she said were you the table that ordered the Burratta? we said yes and still not looking at us she said "we don't have that we bought you a menu so you can pick something else" and walked away. When our original waiter waitress came back, we asked if the other part of our order had already been started because we had already waited 15 minutes and we were very hungry. They had not started on our order, so we said we would be back another time and left. Came for breakfast on Saturday morning. They opened a little later than we were hoping for, but it ended up worth our wait. We ate outside, since the weather was perfect. My husband ordered the Chihuomelet with a side of veggies, and ordered the Farmers omelet with a side of bacon. My husband's omelet was super tasty. My omelet was divine!! One of the best omelets I've ever had! The sauce was absolutely amazing! The bacon on the other hand was rather disappointing- it was obviously just reheated bacon. Piedmont has so many vegan options, it's crazy - don't know what to choose. It has a cozy, hole in the wall kind of atmosphere, in a good way. The service was fast, and our server was patient - even when my coworker took forever in deciding her menu and asked a thousand questions, since she was a picky eater. I had the pad thai, with tofu scramble, and extra veggies. It was delicious. I ordered it medium, so they just added sriracha to a bland base, which was a bit of a disappointment for me honestly. We came here for brunch without any expectations since the menu seemed a bit outdated on Yelp. However, there was such a large selection of menu items (most are vegan/vegan option available) that we got so overwhelmed with what to order. My sibling is vegan so this was an awesome place to try out in El Paso. I ordered the matcha buckwheat pancakes and a side of sunnyside up eggs. The pancakes itself were okay, I didn't expect a fruity syrup since I usually prefer the classic maple or pancake syrup. The pancakes were also a bit grainy and earthy, which I expected with the matcha and buckwheat combo. I wouldn't order this again but it was definitely fun to try! The eggs were possibly the best eggs i've ever had, orange with runny yolks. We ordered the bang bang broccoli and yum yum hash browns to share. Both were absolutely delicious. The sautéed vegetables on the side were a bit vinegary, which I loved since I enjoy pickled veggies. Both of these dishes were vegan and didn't taste like it at all! The bang bang broccoli was super crispy and the sauce was even better, I could've dipped everything in it. My sibling got the loaded smothered biscuits and green pozole. Both were great. The biscuits were soft and fluffy, the seitan bits were so crispy it tasted like bacon. The pozole was citrusy and yummy with the crispy seitan as well. There was indoor and outdoor seating. With the weather being over 100 degrees, we sat outside which had a mist fan above the table. Our server was kind enough to give suggestions and routinely checked on our table. This is one of the best brunch spots in northwest El Paso that survived the pandemic. They opened in 2019. Our server, Kiana knew the menu extremely well with knowledge of incredidents and preparation details. I did a Yelp search for brunch spots and this one on west side had high marks. They have an extensive menu of breakfast & lunch selections + extensive list of alcoholic drinks including cocktails, mocktails, beer and wine. They have plesant music playing inside with wood laminate chairs and tables. The outside patio is shaded with misters. Kiana brought our orders quickly and kept our water glasses filled. I got a full stack of Matcha Buckwheat pancakes with assorted fruit and Grenadine syrup. Found out later than the pancakes were gluten free. Very light despite the buckwheat. I have been wanting to try Piedmont for awhile. The vegan cuisine in El Paso is limited and although it has widen in recent years with local businesses and restaurants accommodating more dietary needs. As a home cook who enjoys cooking and doesn't go out to eat much, there has only been about two solid local restaurants or businesses worth eating out for vegan cuisine. Especially considering innovation and eating quality healthy food. I am glad to add this local business as an option to consider. Although I did not get the chance to dine in for the complete experience, I was pleased to finally try and they did not disappoint. When I called in my order the customer service was great. I was greeted and asked about the level of heat I would like along with them repeating my order and estimated time of my order being complete. As I arrived there was a two families also arriving and being seated and a couple was already dining in. Although there is limited tables indoors, they definitely make the most of the space. If you are planning to dine in I would suggest to call ahead especially if you have a big party. One of the families mentioned was a party of like 7 and it seemed to be the biggest table to accommodate indoors. My order was ready which was great. The packaging, presentation, and portion especially for to go was impressive. I love Thai food and Pad Thai is one of those deal breakers for Thai cuisine. I loved the bold spice and rich flavors as it was unique and innovative along with the two different ways the tofu was prepared being fried and scrambled. This definitely was worth the experience and I hope I can dine in soon to taste more of their vegan options. One thing I have noticed in El Paso is consistency in quality and customer service is poor. I was pleased Piedmont delivered on flavors, presentation, and service. I look forward to supporting them more and tasting more of the vegan options. Visiting El Paso, and we eat a mostly vegetarian/vegan diet. We happened to be on the Westside running errands, and found Piedmont. I was happy with the diverse selection of foods that were either vegan or vegetarian without everything being a Impossible or Beyond (which is not our preference). For the most part, the options seemed healthy as well--not all vegan restaurants or foods are healthy when they are trying to match the flavor of meat-based dishes. We ordered shishito peppers, a falafel wrap with veggies on the side, nachos, and stuffed grape leaves. Everything was tasty and the ingredients seemed fresh. We would definitely come back. The service was great as well, our server was very friendly and helped me choose between very different options. She also checked in on us regularly and made sure our waters were full on a very hot day. There's also a full bar with extensive options. A friend at work was talking about this new restaurant that had just opened up from the owners who had previously started another delicious restaurant I went to a couple of years back - so of course I had to try it! I'm so glad I did because everything was top notch. The dining area is more casual and the chairs are not meant for hours of sitting, but the food speaks for itself - and it is good! There are vegan options as well as meaty options and plenty of hearty greens - I love a healthy menu that is packed with flavor and makes you forget you're eating well! Y'all know that I support local. And choosing star rating for this one was very difficult. I would say this is a 3 1/2 star review, but not enough to roll it up to a four... However it was strong enough for me to wanna go again and try some new stuff. Since it was brunch, I needed some thing a little boozy. I ordered the adult Thai tea. It had a very similar taste to traditional Thai tea but it had a little kick, or maybe not so little, and a lingering cinnamon aftertaste. This was good and made me want to try some other drinks but not when I'm driving! We were hungry, so I ordered bang bang broccoli as an appetizer; which may have actually been my favorite part of the meal. This had a really nice crunchy batter that didn't dissolve or get slimy under the spicy red bang bang sauce. I actually asked them to keep the ball on the table so that I can sop it up the extra sauce with bread. Yeah I liked it that much. For our meals, she ordered a falafel wrap. I like the taste of the falafel, but I feel it needed a bit more of a crunch. I also like my falafel a little bit more garlic forward. The fries however did add to the garlic fast that I wanted. I ordered a katsu sando with Seitan instead of pork. Overall it was a sturdy crunchy, well seasoned sandwich... but it didn't have any Katsu sauce which the sandwich definitely needed. For my side, I also got kimchi, but they charge me for the kimchi even though I think it should've been free with the burger, I think I'll need to re-check the menu later. The kimchi was very pickly, but didn't have a very fermented flavor to me. I also got a biscuit with some jam. Not that I needed any more food... It was a very buttery flaky biscuit which I would go back for any day. As a matter fact next time I go, I think I will try the biscuits and gravy. I did ask the kitchen to send me a sample of the cheese sauce which is vegan. I will say I am not a fan of it, however I have yet to find a cheese sauce/ mac and cheese that I like. As a vegetarian, I'm suppose to like nooch (nutritional yeast), but I can't go for that, noooo. The good thing is that between everything I tried on this round in the parts that I know I like and dislike, I have very much narrow down the menu to what I would be willing to order on subsequent visits. No the reason I will not round it up to four stars is I really think the servers should do more hand washing. Our group of 8 chose this restaurant due to it spacious patio. The food was AMAZING! The grilled cheese was huge and very rich. Fruit bowl as a side did not skimp on variety and freshness. I had the Pad Thai with tofu- flavorful and filling. I should have gotten medium spice- mild was a bit too mild, but I was playing it safe. The falafel was obviously homemade and rustic. This place is pricey! Although I did enjoy the roasted beet salad ($17) I didn't pay attention to the $6 add on for 3oz chicken. Making my salad cost $23! Definitely not worth that. The falafel wrap was weird, not typical flavor associated with middle eastern food and not filling. The hamburger was a huge disappointment for $17. Again, the seasoning was strange and although I asked for it to be cooked to medium it wasn't. It lacked the mouthfulness of a juice burger. The hand cut fries were just ok. We've been to Piedmont numerous times and frequently tell friends who haven't been yet that the food is really good. We've really liked, and mostly loved, everything we've tried. But the painfully slow kitchen and inattentive wait staff make it difficult to keep coming back. Don't go if you don't have a couple of hours to dedicate to ordering and consuming even the most simple item on the menu. Our latest visit, there were three other tables dining - small parties. Our hamburger and a sandwich took 45 minutes coming out of the kitchen - both were good, they were served hot, but worth that wait...? No one stopped by to let us know what was going on with our food and sadly the server was far too busy socializing with the other staff to notice, much less care. I finally caught her attention before having to get up and go to her - the food came out shortly after. Then it was another 20+ minutes of watching her and another server play on her cell phone, laughing and talking about pictures they were sharing. At one point, the manager, three servers and two other folks (I'm guessing kitchen staff) were congregating behind the bar while we waited. I finally walked up and laid my card down on the counter and our server asked, "Ready to check out?" Seriously....? And I wasn't the only one who gave up and went to the bar to clear their check. As I'm sitting here writing this, it pains me not to give more stars - we like this place. We love supporting local and we want to see it thrive and grow. I started out with 3 stars, but wanted to give four. But the more I think about the 2 hour and ten minute lunch I didn't have time for today... I have to give it 2. We will be back, once in while, rather than often - and that makes me sad, because I really love the food and the people are nice - just not efficient or attentive. Ate at this restaurant two months ago and service was great, server was top notch. Today service was terrible. Restaurant was not busy yet staff would rather gather around the bar or patio to gossip. Then we finally got asked what would we like to drink by the bartender not our server. Attitude from server and was very disappointing especially when doing a drive by check in (girl in green flannel shirt). The second visit was terrible compared to our first visit. Wish our server from the first visit was working! I don't know if this girl was the hostess or manager, however attitude to everyone who walked in unless she knew you (Girl in black and white stripes). Hi there saw you responded to me yelp review didnt read it but you did respond to my friends google review stating we did not tip our server and yes you're right we did not, tipping as you should know is not mandatory otherwise it would be included on the bill. Regardless of that... we certainly tip 9.99 percent of the time, unfortunately your waitstaff did an amazing job at making us feel unwelcome even though we were the only table there... FOR TWO HOURS. Maybe since you as an owner cannot provide her with a livable wage she should act a bit more courteous with guests as you make it out to be that she relied on that tip... perhaps it should be earned with good service. Had full intentions of tipping but when she left the check book and couldn't even say thank you or have a nice day that's what ultimately decided us to opt in for no tip. Seems to me the lack of guest service is a common occurrence after reading other reviews. Not to mentions she didn't speak much and seemed to be in auto pilot? Wearing sunglasses inside not sure if she was drugged or high? I don't know if you cooked my food that day the chicken sandwich you provided was not terrible at all just saucy?
