For the past 15 years these doctors and staff have treated me with professionalism and yet made feel like their friend. I have always believed a doctor is nothing without a strong staff and this staff make the doctors look great. They all know their stuff and are more than willing to spend time with you to get the right corrections and right fit. I know I can always walk in and get a quick adjustment to a bent frame. I do wish they had more selection, but the staff always know the right style for me and can order whatever is not on site. read more

I have been going to Dr. Mewborne for around 15-20 years. I am in my 50's now. I have worn glasses since 2nd grade, and went to Dr. Mewborne for my eye exams and contact lenses. I have nothing but good things to say about him and his office personnel over the years. If you want qualified, professional, care and advice, he or anyone in his office, will deliver. My eye-care history, up till 4 months ago, was pretty basic. I probably would have been satisfied with a lot of qualified optometrists. But 4 months ago I had PRK surgery done- PRK is the same type of vision-corrective surgery as Lasik, but it takes longer to heal after the surgery. My son had PRK surgery a few weeks before me and he was able to drive in the daylight 5 days later. I, however, had intense light sensitivity and was unable to drive for about 5 weeks (which is a common side effect). This is where I truly valued the experience and knowledge of Dr. Mewborne. I went to the surgeon that he recommended- Dr. Mewborne has been sending patients to him for 15 years, and he wouldn't have done that if he didn't see good results, which gave me confidence in him too. In my post-op appointments, Dr. Mewborne was careful to check that everything was healing as expected; especially since I had such light sensitivity. He was able to reassure me, drawing on his past experience, that nothing was wrong with my eyes that wouldn't resolve over time. My light sensitivity is finally back to normal--- and it is so liberating to not have to put in and take out lenses. The only lingering side effect is a little dry-eye, which is expected to go away by the 12 month mark. Plus, I no longer have dirty contact lenses irritating my eyes. Haha, so I not only recommend Dr. Mewborne, but I also recommend PRK eye surgery (but only if you have someone to take care of you for the first 3 days (which are intense!) , and only if you can take off work for an extended period of time if need be... I am very happy I did it.) read more

Dr. Mewborne has been taking care of my eyecare for over 12 years. He is caring, concerned , efficient, and thorough. Thanks to his recommendation to a Lasik specialist, I have been enjoying better vision for several years, and his follow-up program in his office was very convenient. Aside from treating eyelid infections, dry-eye and related issues,he has taken care of any other concerns that has saved me from the hassle of locating other specialists. Not 5 stars because there's only one person who can provide detailed receipts, and if she's out or not available you can't get it at the time of your visit or it has to be mailed to you. That being said, I have been a patient of Dr. Mewborne's office for over 5 years. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They now send you e-mail so that you can fill out the office visit forms online and submit them and not have to fill them out when I arrived at the office. They use an "Opti-Map" machine which keeps the doctor from having to dilate the eyes. I highly recommend this office. read more

Dr. Ellis does not rush; he makes sure the examinations he conducts are accurate, all while making you feel like an individual rather than "another patient". All the technicians are great too! They know their patients by name! If you have any concerns, talk to Johnathan Sanchez or Elena Potter, as these technicians will go out of their way to make sure you are completely satisfied with any frames or sunglasses you may purchase. I am sure I asked these two individuals hundreds of questions, which they answered happily and flawlessly. I am grateful for their help, as they have helped me choose a pair of glasses that I always get compliments on. If it were not for their expertise, I may not have found glasses that were both functional and elegant. Which is why I have asked for their names in accordance to this review. Absolute professionalism from the moment the door is opened. Was greeted by the girls at the front desk, and was checked in for my appointment right away. I think I may have sat down in the waiting area for about 3.5 seconds, before Dr. Gettas was already instructing me to take a seat in her office. Can not begin to thank her enough for her kind, polite, and very informative way she goes about her business. Took time out of her procedure to show me pictures of my eyes and explain in great detail what it was we were looking at. She went over options of LASIK, and gave me her opinions on what she thinks would be in my best interests. Was blown away at the courtesy and service provided. Thank you once again Doctor! After being lead back out, I was immediately greeted by the front desk who again were very informative and even helped me pick out glasses that worked for my oddly shaped head.
