Great experience from beginning to end. Went in for my first visit here on 5-2-25 and was very impressed by the service. The entire staff were extremely friendly and efficient. I was seen as soon as I walked in. They did a great job taking images and testing my eye. Dr Shields was super nice, patient, and explained my results thoroughly. I never felt rushed or treated like another number. Jasmin helped me out my whole way through and even hooked me up with a couple pairs of glasses through my insurance. This is my only eye doctor and place I'll order glasses from here on out. read more

I had my initial eye examination with Dr. Shields recently. I thought she was humble, genuine, kind and incredibly thorough with the testing procedures she completed on my eyes. Dr. Shields explained all of the results of my examinations to me in terms that I could understand. I wear reading glasses every day for work as I'm constantly in front of a computer screen, so my eyes tend to get very irritated and dry by the end of the day. She offered me a coupon for an over-the-counter eye-drop solution that I'm using daily now. I was able to pick out a new eyeglass frame, too. Her members of staff were very warm, patient and friendly as well. read more

Quick to schedule appointment, they had plenty of availability and the whole exam process was relatively in and out.

Dr. Shields is amazing. She's very thorough and understands your eye needs before you can even explain it. And Tammy is very knowledgeable, thorough and patient when it comes to fitting for glasses. She knows her job! read more

My first eye exam in 10 years and I was referred to them by someone else. They were quick to bring me into the back even though I was about 15 minutes early. I spent hardly any time waiting. Dr. Petersen was thorough and got me my prescription quickly. Tammy helped me to find glasses afterwards that would be covered by my insurance. She probably helped me through 30 different choices of glasses and we found the best ones. Everybody was extremely helpful and quick. Everything is very organized and cleaned. I will continue coming here. read more

I went to have my eyes examined. I had previously gone to another optometrist and I not could see anything with the Rx. Dr. Petersen examined my eyes and worked diligently to help me get a RX I could see with. His assistant and all of the office staff were nice and courteous and helpful. I really like this place. read more

Front end staff need major improvement, they enjoy gossiping and wasting time. Hours and lunches are all over the place, zero consideration for customers who have to travel from out of town. Doctors that are staffed there on the other hand are great! read more

Dr. Peterson and Staff were VERY professional, knowledgeable and provided us with outstanding service. He was very informative, all procedures were fully satisfied, he also discussed other observations. We were informed throughout the ENTIRE process. Dr. Peterson was OUTSTANDING. We would RECOMMEND his office to ANYONE looking for a great experience by a very knowledgeable Optometrist in the Antelope Valley. He is the BEST. We will recommend him to ALL. I went in today for the first time. Everyone was very pleasant and welcoming. Everyone from the front desk, the young lady who helped me and ran all my exams and dr Peterson were absolutely amazing. Answered all my questions very knowledgeably and thoroughly. Picked out a nice pair of Ray Bans and ordering them was easy. Highly recommend this place. read more

Years ago I received a coupon for a discount eye exam elsewhere, so I tried it. Two weeks later I was back at AVOC getting the mess cleaned up. AVOC and Dr. Petersen have the equipment and expertise to get my prescription right every time. read more

Why would you make all of these appointments for 0930 and have people waiting around for God knows how long???? Door does not even open until 0930!!!! Then you wait in line just to fill paperwork!!! Then waited another 45 minutes before canceling my appointment and going somewhere else! Bad customer service if you make an appointment for someone be respectful of their time and see them never coming back read more

I used to like going here. But the service has gone bad and it's expensive. There are other places better.

First time visiting this establishment as I have moved here recently. Very impressed by the organization and cleanliness of the space. Staff was very professional and friendly. Doctor examination was very thorough and Dr. Clark took time to explain everything to me. I highly recommend this business if you need glasses or just an eye exam. read more

All the staff needs an attitude check including redhead and Clanishae. Not only are they slow but they are overpriced- last time I ended up getting a refund due to them calculating it wrong. Do your computers not do that? I was also able to read some of the other patients charts that were left on the counter which is ridiculous. I should've taken a picture to post at this point. Front desk lady , Can't remember her name but has glasses & is the oldest of the bunch...needs an attitude check ASAP. All the staff looks weirdly depressed and the hostility can be felt from them. The sickly fake happiness was unnerving and not to mention when I asked one of the staff members to speak to the Manager...staff member informed me she is NEVER THERE? I guess it makes sense as to why this optometric center is in dire need of a new manager. Some of the things the technicians were saying were also quite weird but Hey- Workplace will always have weird gossip I just didn't know you guys let your staff talk about it around patients. I think it's safe to say I will never come back. read more

Dr. Peterson was fantastic. The front staff were helpful, and the service was fast and on time. I would highly recommend

Everything about my visit was bad. The wait, the temperature, the breath of the doctor, but the worst part was they messed up my prescription and damaged my old glasses. I will never go there again. read more

The last visit was nice,; pleasant staff and a cheerful Dr. Shields. Very efficient visit; I was able to walk out with my contacts purchase the same day as the exam. read more

Tried them out due to having to find a place since we moved up here from the SF Valley. Everyone for the most part is very friendly and helpful. I would say the only downside is it took close to 3 weeks to get my new glasses then I had to have the lense redone due to the blue filter driving me crazy bc I could see it reflecting while wearing it which in turn had to wait another 3 weeks. But all in all would totally recommend them. read more

The best. Performed a thorough exam. I got lenses put in my Oakley's. We had an issue but they fixed it ABOVE my expectation and could not be happier about that. read more

So glad I found them! Dr. Petersen and staff are amazing. He explains everything to you in detail and makes sure you understand everything. They have a great selection of glasses and their service is excellent. We will definitely going back! read more

I am totally impressed by this place, The place is beautiful inside and although they are busy the customer service is exceptional, They dealt with my insurance which is not a well known insurance, They had to special order my Tori's lenses and were so patient, They spend a lot of time at the appointment, read more

I absolutely love AVOC. Dr. Shields has been caring for our family for years and we have had nothing but wonderful experiences with her. The staff is great and they are wonderful with our kids. read more

Won't asume responsibility for misinformation. Their employees will promise a service and then they'll just tell you we don't offer that. Long story short you're screwed because we don't offer that even though we told you we did! read more

We moved from SFV and looking for new Optometrist here in AV. I saw AVOC in Yelp with high ratings and thought of checking it out. The staff is amazing and very accommodating. Yelp ratings didn't lie. Thank you for a wonderful experience. My family and I are happy we found you and will look forward for any visit/check-up. read more

Same day appointment. Great customer service, thorough comprehensive exam & was in and out within 30/40 minutes.Thank you!

Took my mother to AVOC to replace her reading and distance glasses. She had been here about a month prior to see Dr. Peterson and she couldn't say enough how wonderful she felt the exam and his care was, so coming back was where she wanted to go. With mom on a fixed budget I had my concerns since she is a cash patient, however I was completely blown away with the help Tammy gave mom. She was patient, she listened and she found exactly what made mom happy! I think I also have found a new eye care provider for myself. read more

Maggie and Wendy sure did help me more than I imagined anyone could yesterday! It's always a massive pain and a half picking out new frames and of course, I also wanted to try out contacts. Maggie was fantastic and patient with me as she helped me get the hang of putting in/taking out my contacts. After that, she helped me sift through the countless frame options I had available. Once Maggie was done for the day, Wendy took over and she also did a fantastic job! Wendy helped me narrow down what I loved the most and even corralled her peers to help me decide which frame suited me best. I not only had a fabulous time with all of them, I LOVE my new frames and I cannot wait to get them in the mail! Thank you so much ladies, I appreciate you so much! read more

Antelope Valley Optometric Center is awesome! I highly recommend. The longest I've waited was 5 min. My boys and I have seen Dr's Peterson, Shields, and Clark. Every one of them are very informative throughout the visits. Great friendly attitudes! They care and listen. The staff are knowledgeable when it comes to picking out glasses. They know what insurance covers and give advice where needed. If you have any issues with your glasses, they take care of you! read more

The staff is mostly friendly but overly sensitive about masks. Even when the dentist office across the hall isn't enforcing the policy. The wait time is quit long and if you make an appointment plan on being there for at least an hour and a half. read more

Amber, Hazel, and Dr. Shields were amazing!! They even stayed late to help me with my new prescription. Every time I go to AVOC I'm helped quickly and efficiently. I'm a bit last minute and needy when it comes to my glasses and they are always the biggest help! Zero complaints about the facilities and staff, they are all helpful and accommodating! I will def keep them as my Optometric center of choice!! read more

I booked my appointment online gave this place a second chance after staying away for years the last time I was there they kept me waiting for an hour before I was seen. They call me noon next day to say my online appointment is no longer available can you take end of day? I agree it's raining, I spoke to someone on the phone saying I would be there in five minutes since it's raining Uber driver is taking a little longer, Uber driver put me there exactly at 4:15 for my 4 pm I waited for office manager to stop talking to the UPS driver, she then informed me I'm past the 15 minute window and I will have to reschedule worst Organization management ever this facility is inept. Do not recommend at all read more

Wonderful staff that were very helpful and friendly for my first visit. Excellent doctor, very nice and made my visit one of the best I've had getting an exam! :) read more

Not happy with service from here any longer. Been going here are over 20 years. The attitude of a couple of the ladies behind the front desk is not necessary nor wanted. They lost my $1,000+ business as a client--three to four sets of glasses plus exams every two years. read more

AV Optometrics was great, start to finish. Personable and professional staff. An unrushed exam in which Dr. Petersen really listened and worked up prescription glasses I can really see out of. This wasn't the case with my last pair from another provider elsewhere. Great selection of glasses too. My new glasses are cute and I can see! Thank you Dr. Petersen! read more

Really nice staff. Good quality optometrists. Dr. Clark takes his time with the patience and sits there and listens. Doesn't rush the appointment. Good variety of frames to choose from and of you decide not to get the glasses from their office, they will provide you with your prescription without hesitation. read more

This place has the highest prices in the AV. Even with insurance. No discounts. Awesome customer service, but way to high for glasses. Simply ridiculous. read more

I've been using AVOC ever since Dr. Clark and Dr. Shields moved into the practice, and I've never looked back. What a pleasure it is to have Dr. Clark do all my check ups, advise on my aging sight, and have their staff always be attentive with with their amazing customer service. read more
