Great experience from beginning to end. Went in for my first visit here on 5-2-25 and was very impressed by the service. The entire staff were extremely friendly and efficient. I was seen as soon as I walked in. They did a great job taking images and testing my eye. Dr Shields was super nice, patient, and explained my results thoroughly. I never felt rushed or treated like another number. Jasmin helped me out my whole way through and even hooked me up with a couple pairs of glasses through my insurance. I had my initial eye examination with Dr. Shields recently. I thought she was humble, genuine, kind and incredibly thorough with the testing procedures she completed on my eyes. Dr. Shields explained all of the results of my examinations to me in terms that I could understand. I wear reading glasses every day for work as I'm constantly in front of a computer screen, so my eyes tend to get very irritated and dry by the end of the day. She offered me a coupon for an over-the-counter eye-drop solution that I'm using daily now. I was able to pick out a new eyeglass frame, too. My first eye exam in 10 years and I was referred to them by someone else. They were quick to bring me into the back even though I was about 15 minutes early. I spent hardly any time waiting. Dr. Petersen was thorough and got me my prescription quickly. Tammy helped me to find glasses afterwards that would be covered by my insurance. She probably helped me through 30 different choices of glasses and we found the best ones. Everybody was extremely helpful and quick. Everything is very organized and cleaned. I went to have my eyes examined. I had previously gone to another optometrist and I not could see anything with the Rx. Dr. Petersen examined my eyes and worked diligently to help me get a RX I could see with. His assistant and all of the office staff were nice and courteous and helpful. Why would you make all of these appointments for 0930 and have people waiting around for God knows how long???? Door does not even open until 0930!!!! Then you wait in line just to fill paperwork!!! Then waited another 45 minutes before canceling my appointment and going somewhere else! All the staff needs an attitude check including redhead and Clanishae. Not only are they slow but they are overpriced- last time I ended up getting a refund due to them calculating it wrong. Do your computers not do that? I was also able to read some of the other patients charts that were left on the counter which is ridiculous. I should've taken a picture to post at this point. Front desk lady , Can't remember her name but has glasses & is the oldest of the bunch...needs an attitude check ASAP. All the staff looks weirdly depressed and the hostility can be felt from them. The sickly fake happiness was unnerving and not to mention when I asked one of the staff members to speak to the Manager...staff member informed me she is NEVER THERE? I guess it makes sense as to why this optometric center is in dire need of a new manager. Some of the things the technicians were saying were also quite weird but Hey- Workplace will always have weird gossip I just didn't know you guys let your staff talk about it around patients. Tried them out due to having to find a place since we moved up here from the SF Valley. Everyone for the most part is very friendly and helpful. I would say the only downside is it took close to 3 weeks to get my new glasses then I had to have the lense redone due to the blue filter driving me crazy bc I could see it reflecting while wearing it which in turn had to wait another 3 weeks. But all in all would totally recommend them. read more

Took my mother to AVOC to replace her reading and distance glasses. She had been here about a month prior to see Dr. Peterson and she couldn't say enough how wonderful she felt the exam and his care was, so coming back was where she wanted to go. With mom on a fixed budget I had my concerns since she is a cash patient, however I was completely blown away with the help Tammy gave mom. Maggie and Wendy sure did help me more than I imagined anyone could yesterday! It's always a massive pain and a half picking out new frames and of course, I also wanted to try out contacts. Maggie was fantastic and patient with me as she helped me get the hang of putting in/taking out my contacts. After that, she helped me sift through the countless frame options I had available. Once Maggie was done for the day, Wendy took over and she also did a fantastic job! Wendy helped me narrow down what I loved the most and even corralled her peers to help me decide which frame suited me best. Every one of them are very informative throughout the visits. Great friendly attitudes! They care and listen. The staff are knowledgeable when it comes to picking out glasses. The staff is mostly friendly but overly sensitive about masks. Even when the dentist office across the hall isn't enforcing the policy. The wait time is quit long and if you make an appointment plan on being there for at least an hour and a half. read more

I booked my appointment online gave this place a second chance after staying away for years the last time I was there they kept me waiting for an hour before I was seen. They call me noon next day to say my online appointment is no longer available can you take end of day? I agree it's raining, I spoke to someone on the phone saying I would be there in five minutes since it's raining Uber driver is taking a little longer, Uber driver put me there exactly at 4:15 for my 4 pm I waited for office manager to stop talking to the UPS driver, she then informed me I'm past the 15 minute window and I will have to reschedule worst Organization management ever this facility is inept.
