Their "guest optometrist" wasted the free exam my wife gets through my insurance and to reschedule they wanted $175. The kicker? My wife went in to get new glasses and walked out with a dry eye prescription instead. The optometrist was on the phone with a tech because she didn't know how to use the equipment and completely failed to perform the exam. Lancaster Optometry is the best! I have been seeing Dr. Karine Shaghoyan since 2019 when another well-known local optometry group, who shall go unnamed, completely failed me. While at work in Lancaster, I accidentally poked my left eyeball with a tiny, sharp instrument, causing such severe pain that I couldn't open my eye. I was also fearful about loss of vision. Imagine my relief when I called my previous optometrist to find out they were open on a Saturday, only to have it quickly turn to disappointment when they would not squeeze me in because their schedule was too full. Even after communicating the severity of the situation, as an established patient, I was refused in my hour of need. They instead suggested that I go to a local ER. Well, the business I owned and operated at the time was on the Blvd in Lancaster, and I remembered that there was an optometrist there. Imagine my even greater relief when they were not only open but also willing to see a new patient dealing with an emergency. They simply warned me that there would be a wait, which didn't end up being very long at all. Dr. Shaghoyan immediately impressed me with her kind demeanor and expertise. After performing some preliminary tests, she treated the eye and installed a healing contact lens that I am confident to this day saved my vision. The alternative would have been to spend countless hours at the Antelope Valley Medical Center, only to be seen by a doctor who isn't an eye specialist (no doubt sending me off with instructions to follow up with one), and having to close my business for the remainder of the day on one of our busiest days of the week. No small cost in all aspects. I am eternally grateful to Dr. Shaghoyan and her team for what they did for me then and for the excellent care since. I've had dry eyes since having Lasix eye surgery, but I've noticed it getting worse in recent years (living in the desert doesn't help). When I mentioned it a couple of years ago, Dr. Shaghoyan and the team were on it. Turns out my meibomian glands were clogged, so I began regular treatments of low light therapy with manual expression of the glands, in addition to a regimen that included a specific heat mask, supplement and eyelid cleanser. I also learned that I was making things worse by applying eyeliner to the waterline basically since I was about 14. I never knew! I've already had so much improvement with the treatments so far. I haven't tried the Envision radiofrequency yet but hope to one day. Dr. Shaghoyan is caring, considerate, hygienic and respectful of time. She and the whole crew are excellent, especially Sarah (her awesome, very funny and knowledgeable assistant), Danielle (welcoming, warm front desk receptionist), and Jesus (friendly front/back assistant). The office recently moved to a new location in Lancaster that is spacious, inviting and tastefully decorated with ample parking. They've got a large selection of glasses to choose from. I went to Lancaster Optometry and had my yearly eye exam and was waited on. I had to go to the new location, which is on 10th Street West. I found them fairly easy and this place is much bigger and less traffic than the old location. Service is excellent will be returning soon for further appointments. read more

This place is nice. The Dr is nice. The lady who did all the testing was super nice. The thing I did not like was they charge a mandatory $39 for a retinol exam. I'm still trying to retrieve a copy of my paperwork that I did online that says I agreed to that fee. It's a nice exam to have but I didn't see where it said that on the paperwork. I obviously can't see that well that's why I made an appointment lol They do make it known if you cancel less than 24 hrs there's a $50 fee. It's the principle for me. The girl who was trying to help me find glasses was a little rude. Maybe with my migraine and her funky attitude we just did not mesh. She also did not send me a copy of my paperwork when I asked. There isn't a wide selection of glasses either. Better off going somewhere else. I won't be going back. read more

Best experience at a doctors office, ever! The inside of the office is beautiful and very welcoming. They have a "green room" that is stocked with multiple coffee choices and cold water. It is very warm and inviting. The front office staff was also very welcoming and knowledgeable about their products. The doctor was beautiful! She took time to explain each test. I just called to make an appointment for my annual check up. I've been seeing this doctor since 2007 I'm a loyal customer. I was told that I have to pay $39 out-of-pocket for diagnosis and imaging of my eyes. I've never had to do this in the past. It appears the doctor is trying to bill the insurance and required that I do this diagnosis. I don't have any medical conditions and my eyesight is OK. Nice office with friendly staff. The day my husband and I went there was a bit of a wait but the optometrist and our and let us know she was behind due to an emergency. We were both seen for our exams shortly after. We just would have appreciated being told about the fee for the retina exams of$39 each. Service was great but they charge a 39$ image fee. This fee was a doctor policy that is mandatory for images of your eye that are not necessary unless you actually have something wrong with your eyes and I was only in for an annual check up. I was asked to update the review. So I finally got my contact lenses and then finally got my glasses after calling many times. But then their billing department forgot to bill my insurance so when I was charged at the optometry office I was charged entirely. My insurance called and said hey we paid for the fitting what about the materials and that's how I found out I paid out of pocket for everything. Yes everything was fixed but 80 percent of my time spent here was hunting down glasses, trying to get the right contact lenses, talking to my insurance carrier, talking to their office to get things resolved.
