I ordered a replacement pair of glasses on May 18, 2026. I called twice to check whether they were ready for pickup, but when I called again on June 25, 2026, I was told that the lab had not received the frame. As of today, July 2, 2026, I am still waiting for an update. The fact that it has taken this long and the glasses are still not ready says a lot about the level of professionalism and communication throughout this process. I understand that delays can happen, but I would have appreciated better follow-up and more accurate information regarding the status of my child's glasses. I have been coming here for years. On this visit, the front desk staff that assisted me seemed rushed and disengaged. If that wasn't disappointing enough, the doctor told me to "sit", did NOT introduce herself, and asked "why was I there"? - for an eye appointment! My opinion, she seemed annoyed. I explained that I haven't worn contacts in about 3 years; however, I wanted to go back to wearing them. I also explained that the glasses I'm currently wearing are my backup pair as my "newest" (from last year) pair broke 2 months ago and instead of coming in at that time to have them repaired, I opted to wait until my appointment to have everything done at once. I wanted a prescription for contacts as well as glasses. She proceeded to ask me "how are your contacts working"? and "how are these glasses working"? I re-explained the above to her THREE times! I wasn't wearing contacts and these glasses (that I had on) are my backup pair. THREE separate times I said this! It was as though she was not hearing what I was saying. It was FRUSTRATING! I left with a trial pair of contacts and informed to wear them for a few days and if they're comfortable, call back to have them ordered. My concern is that my left eye is weaker (according to the docto) and the trial pair that I have does not address this weakness because I was told they are out of that particular prescription. Everyone is so helpful. The doctor is saw explained a number of things for me, such as when my cataracts can be removed. He went over the Optic photos, explaining everything. When I went to order my new glasses I told the lady I wanted the same frame as I love my current one. She found it and we choose the same one with a different color. I walked inside this location and I stood in line and was greeted by a young gentlemen by the name of Eduardo with a wonderful smile and asked "have you been helped yet Sir". I brought in a pair of Tom Ford frames with a screw missing and Eduardo was so helpful and repaired and adjusted my frames without hesitation and the kicker is it was all COMPLIMENTARY!!! The optometrist was not very professional. She just seemed shy and not answering questions when asked . She would mention glaucoma , and she would take forever to answer me regarding if I had glaucoma or the was a reason why she was saying it. She made a big John in the middle of our session. Just overall, she appeared to be young , and she appeared not to be experienced in what she was doing . I had to put on three pairs of contacts to get it right. Normally I'd have to put on one pair and that's it. Overall, I'm going to ask to see a different optometristics time I go there. read more

Dr Ta and the staff are amazing. I arrived early but I was checked in and started as soon as possible. They were very efficient and I was in and out in no time. We have been going to AV Mall Vision since it was inside the mall. Always good service. Lately it seem like every time I go I there's new employees. My son has bad Keratoconus. He had crosslink procedure. They recommend it. He has always used contact but now he needs hard lenses. We went in for fittings and the optometrist said she could order them. It has been about 5 months and no word. I call and they said there is no order for the hard contact and that they can't get them. I go to pick up my wife's glasses and one of the ladies that always help us out of nowhere asked if the optometrist has gotten the hard lenses. I mentioned that they told use they don't have them and that they can't get them. It has now been 6 months. It's a shame that the service has gone down in the last 2 to 3 years. read more

I've been coming here for about 4 years now. We've had hick ups before regarding placing orders for glasses and contacts and such no big deal but the last two years have been horrible! From not getting the correct eye exam done to them lying about having our product received and finding it hasn't been when we come in to pick up. Just horrible. I had a scheduled appointment for 3 o'clock. I waited longer than an hour to even get seen by the doctor. I witnessed people arrive 30 minutes after me get seen before I did. This is just unacceptable. No way it should take longer then 30 minutes. The doctors need to schedule their appointments better and manage their time more efficiently. Not so good of an experience coming here. I do not recommend it to anyone as well. read more

Great experience there on my last visit. Have been coming here for years. Arrived to my appointment on time and filled out some paperwork. Almost immediately upon turning in the paperwork I was called to begin the process of my eye exam. Everything from my initial greeting, the staff, the doctor and choosing my glasses was great. My family and I have been going to AMVC ever since we moved to the AV. We have never had any bad experience here until they hired a new receptionist by the name of Cynthia. There's a list of errors made by her and it's so frustrating working with someone who constantly continues to make simple mistakes that could have been avoided if she would only double check her work. When I brought my daughter in for an appointment I requested for a note for her school. Not only was the letter dated "Feb. xx, 2005" but it also stated in the letter that my daughter was seen at AMVC on "Feb. xx, 2005" (she was born in 2005 and her appointment was in 2019) ‍. A bill was also sent to my address, addressed "to the parents of Addie", (please keep in mind, my parents live outside of the country & have nothing to do with my bills)... enclosed in the envelope was a bill addressed to a different patient & not for me. This happened TWICE! Next, I had made an appointment for my kids and I for our annual eye exams. It was scheduled for a Saturday. My kids and I showed up and Cynthia told me (on the day of our appointment) that she can't verify my 5 year old's insurance therefore has to reschedule his appointment. It was so frustrating because I had to take time off work for my son's appointment that had to be rescheduled due to Cynthia "not being able to verify my son's insurance". Please keep in mind we have Tricare (military) and are all listed under my husband's insurance benefits. If I could, I wouldn't have given this review a star at all, but had to in order to post a review. Again, my family and I have just been having bad customer service with Cynthia. Other than that, the staff has been a pleasure to work with and whenever problems arise with Cynthia, the manager continues to reach out to me to personally notify me that she would address these problems. This is my go to optometrist if my insurance is VSP. You always see the same familiar faces and they're all extremely helpful. The long issue is they're so popular it's hard to get an appointment within the month. It also takes a month to receive glasses when you order a new pair and they need to ship it out for the lenses. Ideally, I think 2 weeks would be a good turnaround since it's a 4 week wait for an appointment and 4 weeks for glasses so it'll take you 8 weeks before you update your pair. They give samples if you ask for them. read more

Completed eye exam and received m written prescription. However they only provide full prescription with measurements IF you purchase glasses from them. I had to make a second visit to demand a full prescription so that I could purchase eye glasses elsewhere (my insurance did not cover glasses until May 2024). Once there they kept saying that they only provide full prescription with measurements if I purchased glasses from them. I personally do not like this practice as it feels like they are attempting to "force" their patients to only purchase eye glasses with them! Besides, the last set of glasses purchased with them cost 4 times more and did NOT fit properly. I believe if they are being paid for the service, they should provide the service IN FULL without conditions. I was however pleased with the doctor taking her time with me, and the new eye scanning technology. I also like how easy it is to order contacts online, which come in only a few days. Do I recommend them, yes! And I will return, but will ensure that all services including a FULL prescription is provided at the time of my appointment. read more
