Elixir Tea Bar was a last minute idea and turned out to be a really good choice. If you like fantasy, DnD, RPGs, Harry Potter etc this may be your place. We were greeted by a witch, saw the White Rabbit working behind the bar, were assisted by Ariel in her human form and then visited by a mermaid and not one but two LOTR inspired elves . All while trying unique boba tea concoctions and an ice cream while the kids took part in an epic wizards test. Thank goodness they passed! Spirited Away played near the bar, Solo on another tv before Monty Pythons Quest for the Holy Grail came on. The decor is an explosion of fantasy. There is even a bookcase with a hidden entrance. This is worth exploring but fantasy gamers, cosplayers and people looking for something different. Little note, not visible from the street. You walk like you are about to enter the romance shop and there is a stairway immediately to your right. Upon entering Elixir, I felt like I was entering a fantasy realm. The choice in design was amazing and truly matched the DND/Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings theme. The ceiling had glowing lights and it was overall a very pleasant tea bar. However, the boba I ordered (oolong green tea one with blue syrup) was extremely sweet. I also had a sip of the coffee one and I thought it was sweet as well. I was surprised that the waitress didn't ask for a sweetness adjustment like most boba places. The service was a bit lacking since they were quite busy and the boba drinks were a bit pricey. If you want to come here, definitely come for the ambience and not the drinks. read more

Extraordinary and unique boba and ice cream experience. The owner is a file produce, which we got the opportunity to meet while sitting at the bar. It has only been open for 7 days and long line of waiting on the weekends. In a few months, there were be option for "membership" and possible closed for the public-those without membership. Price for membership is $100, including a token that permits 2 people (member and guest) each visit. As for the drinks, we ordered the 6 flight option-around $40 and ice cream (kraken-tasted like rocky road). Presentation was neat. Tea and boba was quality. Service was friendly and pleasant. You have to ask permission to use the bathroom... I'm on the fence of this place. Everything was going great. Incredible environment and cute little menu. The main bathroom was closed so the creature Arrietty took me to the other bathroom. I showed the direction to my friend and when I needed to go again the creature slammed the door not letting me go and they said they revoked me from using the bathroom. Mind you they sell sweet items and the ice cream I got was dripping so I needed to wash my hands. Then they let me used the main bathroom. I couldn't get in because the chair was blocking the entry. I'd go again but after this service I won't go back. Seems very hostile, the fantasy was lost then for me. read more

Probably the coolest bar in general that I have ever been to. Easily the best Boba I've ever had! The fantasy, si-fi and adventure decorations carpeted across the room is what makes it the spot. Elixir is such an amazing complete immersive experience! It's full fantasy movie, video game, and everything in between that you can think of that is nostalgic from your childhood. Or I should say the childhood of someone growing up in the 80s and 90s. I love all the small details. It takes forever to look around and you keep seeing cool things in every corner. So much to talk about with your party that you attend with, I could see this being a really good place to hang out with friends for a birthday or even a date night. The staff sings along with music blasting throughout the café that makes this so much fun. With everyone dancing and singing along to some awesome songs from the 80s 90s and beyond, it's a great place just to have a good time. The Boba is really good and they offer a wizard test that you can perform with a chosen wand and spell. If you perform it correctly, you can get a badge/sticker. My daughter had an awesome time and we didn't want the night to end because it was so much fun. The staff also genuinely loves what they do. You can tell by how enthusiastic and cool everyone is. Ambiance is beyond cool. Loved the nerdy vibes of this place and great for people who love board games. I guess they are planning on expanding their space soon and having a section you can pay more to go in and have a table for board games. Overall loved the decor and experience with the music and dressed up employees. Service was great as well and everyone was super nice. They were very invested in us liking the drinks and wanted to make our experience great. On the other hand, it is very pricey for drinks here, and the quality isn't the best. If you're used to very sweet tasting milk teas with decent boba then it's fine, but I think if they made their drinks with better tea flavors and better boba it would be such a hit! Definitely a super cute and unique experience to enjoy with friends. The Harry Potter themed decorations and secret rooms gave it a true fantasy feel. All the employees and cosplayers definitely stayed character. However, I would not recommend bringing the young kids here especially since you have to walk by a sex toy shop and smoke store to get in. We had to strategically stand in the entrance when our friends arrived. The drinks itself I would give a 2/5. Definitely extremely overpriced at $12 a cup, but you're paying for the ambience and experience more than anything. read more

It's a cozy location surprisingly good for groups or small parties however take in kind limited seating. No matter where you sit you're going to be dazzled with plenty to admire: lights, posters, figurines, a TV playing Buffy the Vampire Slayer & much much MUCH more. (There also is a speak easy inside but you've gotta become a member for an annual fee.) The menu is limited to about 10 drinks or so, but surprisingly very tasty. For the table (I forgot the whimsical names) -iced matcha lightly sweetened with light boba & whipped cream. It was perfectly sweetened & creamy. -Thai iced tea with boba & a hint of lavender/floral -2 orders of the wizard test ($5/each) totally worth it for the experience if it's your first time Drinks ranged from about $10-$15 & are served in cocktail glasses (nonalcoholic.) Many of the tables are styled for conversation with oversized comfy leather sofa chairs, the tables are chess tables which you can also play on & even the bathroom has decorations. On the second floor of the building you come upon Elixir Tea Bar. Walking through the doors feel like you're walking into the wizarding world of Harry Potter at Hogwarts Academy. You can sit at tables where you can play chess or checkers, or at small tables. Service is quick with "elves" taking your order. We ordered the Serenity and the Oracle. The Serenity has a great passion fruit forward flavor, I had mine with Aloe instead of boba. There's also a secret door behind a book shelf, which we didn't go into.... not sure if you can just walk into it as those who went inside were being guided by someone working there. DO NOT GO! This place is a scam. The entrance is next to an adult store and a vape shop, not child friendly at all. The drinks and ice cream are horrible, overly sweet and almost triple the prices at an outside shop. My niece and nephews didn't even finish their boba or ice cream. When it came time to pay the bill, they just brought a machine out for me to swipe my credit card. I never saw the bill. I didn't think anything of it since it was its drinks. They had pre-charged an 18% tip unbeknownst to me and I added an additional 22% tip making it 40%. Luckily, I asked for a printed receipt to take home. When I saw the issue at home, I tried to contact them but no one answered. The voicemail instructed to text but 5 days later, still no reply. This place is so enchanting and magical. The most creative boba house I've ever experienced by far. The laser-focused attention to detail of this place was perfection. The service and owners were fabulous and so hospitable. I love it when you check out new places and the owners give that 1:1 personable experience. I love the secret room they are still building out and the themed games they have to play as a hangout activity. The boba was as good but I think it's a bit too overpriced, to be honest, but I think this is more of those have-to-experience type places. I definitely recommend checking it out. The passage way to the secret room reminded me of a creative speakeasy and escape room all in one. Pretty busy location, really hard to find parking. They don't even have parking close to them or street parking. There is a parking lot across the street but it is kind of a walk for people with disabilities like me. We had to wait in a line outside before going in to another line to order. It is dark inside but mystical lightning around their decor. Kind seemed like an adult only but kids are allowed. They just have a store they are connected to that have breakable things so just careful with the kids there. If the kids break it, you need to buy it. It's basically a dungeons and dragons/medieval type of aesthetic. It was also very crowded inside. The seating is either at large tables or chairs against the wall. I was not fond of the fact that I was pushed so close to another table of 8 people. Drinks and price were the reason why I won't come back. The menu is pretty small - you're either offered $10 for ice cream or they have specific boba drinks on the menu starting at $12. Sorry, but $12 for boba is INSANE! I get it, it's basically like a ticket to the museum. My friend and I were confused when we saw our drinks were served to us with ice. I ordered the illusion and it was completely watered down and tasted nothing of what an oolong tea would've tasted like - I could've made something better at home. The boba was also hard!!! Elixir is definitely one of the more eccentric places you'll go to. It's like that weird high school student you admire for giving no f-s about being completely comfortable in their own skin but not at all your cup of tea, no pun intended. Just smile and play along otherwise you're the weird one. The whole wizard, mythical, fairytale genre is perfect if you're into this kind of stuff. However, the drinks and ice cream were horrible and incredibly expensive, so horrible that even at the high price point, we declined the free refill on the tea as well as the option to switch to another drink. Regarding ice cream, they were practically out of every flavor, to the point where it got awkward with every choice requested to soon discover that that too wasn't available. It's a bit stuffy and cluttered in there, but the visuals and decor are interesting. And the staff? You gotta commend anyone willing to work in pointy hobbit ears while playing a folkloric creature and maintaining the Britishisy-fantasy accent. It's funny to hear them stay in character with customers but talk among coworkers like normal humans. read more

It was a bit hard to find, but they share the same entry door as the Vape store. You head up the stairs and then you'll see where the store is. There's a shared parking lot in front of the line of stores and should be fairly easy to find parking (we found parking for 3+ cars on a Friday night). The drinks are definitely on the pricier side, but I will say the cups are big. You can substitute the toppings in any of the drinks. I read that the boba wasn't great, so I subbed it for aloe vera. The drink was average. I think people would go here for the atmosphere and vibe. They have a wizard theme to it. The waitresses and owner were super friendly. The owner came over and offered us a sample of their thai tea (best seller). I thought it was funny because he gave us one little shot glass filled with it for four of us lol. Once our drinks came out, the owner came back and had an activity for us. Each drink comes with the chance to participate in his activity. I won't spoil it for those incoming, but it was a fun experience. The owner tells you a few steps, and then has each person recreate the steps one by one. When we walked in, we were seated by the bar but never given a menu. After noticing a table open up, we decided to move there, but still, no one approached us with menus or to ask if we needed anything. I eventually had to wave down a waitress just to get a menu and place an order. When I mentioned the lack of service and the need to flag someone down, the waitress informed me--that I was "incorrect" in how I ordered and "wrong" for moving tables, implying that this was the reason I wasn't helped. Instead of acknowledging their mistake, the blame was shifted onto me, which left a sour taste in an otherwise beautiful setting. It's worth noting that the drinks were excellent, but the service experience was disappointing enough that, for the first time, I chose not to leave a tip. A simple acknowledgment of the situation and a better approach to customer service could have completely turned this around. Such a magical place! As soon as u walk in, it feels as if u get transported to a fantasyland. From the characters and decor to the lighting and even the noises. It almost feels like you're in a movie. The staff is dressed to go along with the theme and the drinks here are beautiful! We ended up trying the oracle and cirenity drinks. The cirenity drink was sweet goodness, may be too sweet for some people but i loved it! The oracle drink was not as sweet and just looked like a regular matcha drink with boba. I loved the different drink options fit the whole theme of the place however the ice cream menu seemed like regular ice cream flavors with fancy names. Loved the theming and ambiance! This place is visually stunning. The servers were so sweet and in character the whole time. You can take the test to prove you are a Wizard which is fun. So first off I want to start by saying this concept was so cute and whimsical. I want to tell people that you're coming for the experience here. We had a lovely elf be our server and she was so cute and charismatic! My friend and I ordered the Cirenity drink. It was a passion fruit guava strawberry hibiscus, lemonade, with aloe vera, and it was probably one of my favorite tea drinks I have had. It was so flavorful without being overpoweringly, sweet and honestly I could keep drinking this even after that huge glass was empty. I love the concept of them giving us wands. Two stars for the ambiance - very few locations can match it. The decor is top notch and it does make you feel like you're stepping in a world of magic! Some info about this place - there's no reservations. And it is located next to a smoke shop (Purple Haze Smoke Shop). To get here, you'll go up the staircase. We came on a Sunday where it was stated that they would open at 2PM. They were not ready to open and didn't open until roughly 2:30PM. Afterwards, they sat everyone down at tables. It seemed like there was only one server taking orders so that took a while. We ended up ordering 2 drinks and 2 ice creams. The drinks range from $10-$14. But overall, they weren't that special. They were overly sweet for me and I'm not sure whether or not you could ask for reduced sugar levels (menu and staff did not seem to indicate whether this was something they could do). The drinks were just okay. A staff member did try to discuss what wands we ended up getting in our drinks, but there was no "magic" or smoke guns or anything that made the experience more "magical" for us, like some other reviewers got. The boba was horrible though. It was hard, clumpy and stuck together. I don't know if it's because they scoop the boba in last and it sits on top the ice or what, but the boba was not good. The ice cream took way longer to come out (maybe like 40 minutes). The portions were also not equal - the first ice cream we got was much bigger than the portion in the second cup. We saw them scoop it and it appears they get their ice cream from Laperts. Membership: They sell membership for $100, which is suppose to give you things like better drinkware, access to a secret menu, secret room, line skipping & future events. Apparently when they -really- open (it's sort of in a soft opening right now), that's the only way to sit inside. Otherwise, they'll only offer their menu to go. read more

I absolutely love places like this & elixir did not disappoint! My friend and I enjoyed an afternoon boba date and had a great experience. We came on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm and got seated immediately. They don't rush you and we got to sit and chat for about 2 hours. The attention to detail was AMAZING and my nerdy heart was overjoyed. I took away one star because the boba wasn't the best boba I have had, it was very sweet and kind of watery. It took: 30min to get seated (honestly not that bad because this place was hyped on IG) 20min for someone to get to my table and take my order (kinda bad because like ... you have 9 drinks lmao it's not going to take that long for me to decide what to order) 30min to make my drink (extremely bad because it's ONLY DRINKS. WHY DOES IT TAKE 30MIN TO MAKE DRINKS) And so after wasting an hour and a half of my life, we got our drinks and they were the most mediocre drinks of my life. Matcha milk tea 3/10 Passion fruit or whatever 3/10 Oolong milk tea 2/10 Boba super hard and stuck together - you can't even use your straw on them. They mainly have tea and boba drinks and ice cream.... My buddy got....My Precious Cookies and Cream.... Basically a $10.00 cookies and cream which was nothing special....I got the Draven basically a very small latte with boba it was ok.... The other two drinks to go were a Cerenity and Illusion... The boba itself was hard and definitely not fresh... The drinks basically nobody finished because they weren't good.... Service was okay at the beginning but this place is very disorganized... They didn't bring us napkins, they served pair drinks to the wrong table and I saw them do this to multiple other tables. They brought one of my to-go drinks in the regular cup so they had to change that... Also they opened about 15 minutes late.... Definitely an upgrade from their old place at Laguna Niguel. This place is very well decorated and you definitely feel the magic the instant you walk in. I have had a few drinks and a few flavors of ice cream and I can say they are all good. I would describe it in more detail but I don't want to ruin the surprise. Stumbled upon this place just scrolling through yelp, and rushed right over after seeing these magical looking drinks with glitter and wands! Since my party and I did make it closer to closing our drinks were "to-go". There are only a few drinks drinks on their menu and they were just the right amount of sweetness and the boba were soft and chewy. They do have ice cream available as well. The service was great and we were able to talk to the owner about how this whimsical place came to be. They wanted a place where you can go out and be yourself - their own "bar scene" without alcohol - and they did it! This place is full of wonder and even has a secret room to which you can partake in if you purchase the gold medallion. The decor is more of a fantasy/sci fi type of feel - from the glowing trees and wisteria flowers to the dragon skulls and dressed up staff. You are even encouraged to partake in dressing up! ( they sell items if you want to purchase too !) There are a few TVs up playing different movies & on certain days you can go and play DND or other type of card games!
