Did you know that if your LCD TV shows both vertical and horizontal lines, it means the LCD screen is broken and cannot be repaired, only replaced? This is common knowledge among TV repairmen, but Mr. Elite Electronics would not cop to this and instead offered to look at my TV for a $50 diagnostic fee. Last night when I turned on my 60" Pioneer Elite Plasma TV, I had no audio and no video. I tried everything I could think of to remedy the situation, to no avail. So, I turned to Google to try and find a repair service. I found a listing for Elite Electronics on Park St. in Alameda where I live. Elite had received 14 5-star ratings out of 14 reviews, so I called them this morning. I talked to Lee, who said to unplug the TV for 30 minutes and then try it again. After 30 minutes I plugged in the TV. As it warmed up, I told my wife that this procedure wouldn't work because I had many times used the main switch to cut off all power to the set. As soon as I finished telling that to my wife, the TV warmed up and started working normally! Unbelievable! If I ever have a problem with a TV, I now know where to go. read more

I had my Sony HD t.v. repaired by Elite Electronics. They ordered the part necessary and repaired my t.v. which works as good as new. It was a little pricey but the convenience was worth it, not to mention not having to throw away my 46" in a landfill somewhere! I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Sony told me parts not available to fix my Wega TV. Elite sent Mr. Lee the same day I called. Took the chassis out, repaired it, re-connected all components, tested and did great work for less than Sony offered for a new TV. It was great service and took less time than was promised. Our 2 year old Samsung's Optical Digital input came loose and broke (because our cord was too short and was yanked everytime we opened it on its' mount to get behind it to reset the modem). A gentleman came (didnt get his name) but he was early (!) and took it down, took it apart and soldered the broken piece and it worked! No ordering parts and all done in an hour. This guy knows his TVs! Very happy and will definitely use them again. read more

This store is open, and I've used them for several years. I just used their service today. They are one of two East Bay authorized Sony repair and do other brand repair of television including HD. They are expensive, but they do home calls which is very convenient. read more

Brought my precious Panasonic in because it was was not staying on. Lee was great! Really nice and super helpful! He suggested some things to try before bringing it, which I thought very thoughtful of him. Unfortunately, nothing worked so I had to take it in. Lee helped transport from car to counter and even used his own stand since i was too stupid to bring mine. Had it fixed in a few days, and week later I just picked up my set. I highly recommend Elite Electronics. Lee was very professional, thorough and knowledgeable about what ailed my Samsung flat-screen TV. The color had recently just faded and the picture grown darker, so I brought it in based on all the 5-star reviews of Elite Electronics. I was very happily rewarded. The $50 deposit is credited to the repair costs, and if Lee can't repair it (which is improbable) then he will find another option to make sure you're another of his long list of satisfied customers. The mother board on my TV needed replacement, but after he replaced it he didn't like the lingering darkness of the picture and said the panel was weak and needed replacement. So Lee offered an upgrade to a used Samsung flat-screen he had in stock, which had a better panel, resolution and picture. But he insisted that he show me a side-by-side comparison of my old TV and the new TV to make sure I understood what he was saying about the picture quality before I made the decision. He took his time to explain it, and it was obvious when he turned the two TV's on that the replacement was superior to my old one. So I went home with a better TV for less that it would have cost for him to replace the panel plus motherboard on the old one. He could easily have sent me on my way with the color fixed on my old TV and I would have been satisfied, but that was not acceptable to him. And before I left, Lee insisted the correct way to plug and unplug cables from the TV, to always wait 20 seconds after the unit is turned off. And then he insisted again to make sure I understood. Lee doesn't just repair your product, he advises you on how to use it properly. That's the mark of a pro. read more

I had some problems with my TV. Under 2 years warranted with Costco, I called them for the repair. Costco sent in-home service technician to my house to help me with the problem. I looked up the three listed authorized Sony repair shops in the bay area, and this had the highest Yelp rating. My lightly used 15 year old high end SONY AV receiver would't power on, and after looking at what was out there for replacements, I decided it was worth trying to get it fixed. I was worried that the old time electronic repair shops were no longer, having not had to scout one out in a decade. This was a little out of the way but well worth it. It looks like the authentic repair shops of eons ago with tons of clutter. The very nice man who helped me was encouraging and he just needed a $50.00 deposit to find out what was wrong. Within two days he called and gave me the estimate which seemed reasonable. By the end of the week it was done which surprised me since I thought they had to order a part. He demonstrated that it worked before I paid, and he explained the problem. I give them 5 stars for prompt and courteous service and am thankful that there are craftspeople who still want to do this work. read more
