Fortunately, he was able to get my phone back up and running for a good price IMO. The shop wasn't busy when I arrived so it only took about 30min. He did recommend I get a new phone. I found eFX using Yelp's multiple quote feature when I needed a new battery for an iPad mini. They offered the best price and warranty, and had excellent communication via Yelp messages. The part wasn't in stock at first, so they ordered it and notified me when it came in, somthan their estimate. I brought the tablet in before noon, hoping to pick it up by 5, as they suggested. Parking was easy and free right in front of the shop. I had my dog in the car, taking a ride as a consolation prize for a rain-cancelled walk in Oakland, but it was dry and clear in San Leandro. I asked if they could possibly accelerate the process, so I could walk him for an hour or two and a avoid a return trip. They said yes, and moved my job to the front of the queue. I was pleasantly surprised to get a call about 30 minutes later and went back to the shop. The new battery seems fine, and the $100 price was very reasonable, less than half of some competitors. Apple could do it for about $120, but it would take over a week and require shipping. One of the other, closer, shops wanted $250, and they messaged me that the part alone cost more than $100. I looked on Amazon and found the batteries ranged from $27-$44. When I pointed this out, dropped their price and said "Oh, we thought you wanted a screen", which was odd because the entire interaction was in written form using Yelp's standard format, which clearly says right at the top "Battery Replacement". Buyer beware. Honest, fast and competent is a good combination, I would definitely go back to eFX. Note that they take cash and debit cards, not credit. read more

Fast, honest and responsive. Found them through Yelp, my mother in law dropped her iPad and the screen was completely shattered. Searching for a place close by that does repairs. I sent them texts messages as well as google messaging and they answered to both. They gave me a quote and off I went. Told me that it would be around 3 days before it was repaired and they would call me when completed. 3 days went by and nothing, so I called them, the iPad was repaired but they forgot t call me, minus a star for that but otherwise they were very honest and fair about the pricing. I think all other stores are just bringing their devices to this store for repairs. I was there waiting and seen owners from other stores dropping phones to get fixed. Looks like this place is more of a surgery spot while most repair places are just doing cosmetic work. It was hard to find this place as someone referred me to this place from San Bruno. Be prepared to wait as they are busy but they did fix my phone same day as you can see in picture the tech described that is final step. Im backing my stuff asap after this is done. I cant explain how thankful i am to get my data back. Like most people there were memories in the phone that i just cant replace. Almost had tears in my eyes when he showed the test worked. Brought my friends phone here like a week ago. We needed to get the front screen and back glass repaired on the IPhone 11. My friend thought it would be a good idea to have me bring his other phone in that wasn't damaged to try and do a board swap so that it would be cheaper than getting both sets of glass replaced. Walked in, chopped it up with the guy, he suggests instead of spending 200 on glass repair we do the chip swap for 80! Clear, to the point and they were fast too. Got it done within 2hrs. Then I dropped it again , this time the screen flickered and the only way I could use my phone was on Bluetooth in the car. I drove down the street and noticed this store. I had a laptop that died on me and I had to get the data from it. The tech I spoke with told me the hard drive was fine, it was the motherboard that died. He said that I could put the hard drive in another laptop and it would be as good as new, he was right. I got a used laptop and they installed the hard drive and it was as good as new. I probably paid a little too much for the laptop but it had to be done. They have used laptops for sale and if you have any issues go to these guys. read more

Would've never expected to buy a computer from a little place like this but they had a great deal on Facebook marketplace for a used MacBook Pro at prices that were competitive with eBay but without two weeks shipping and maybe not getting what you're supposed to. Very satisfied with the product as well as the service as they gave me plenty of time to go through it and make sure I was getting what I was supposed to. At no point did I feel sketched out buying sketchy merchandise or feel like I was being taken advantage of which is absolutely important when you're making deals like this.
