I called this business concerning my Panasonic CD system from the 1990s that has died (likely due to storing it without adequate protection from dust, etc.). The Elite proprietor said 1) I would have to make an appt. before bringing it in; 2) he would charge me $95 to look at it & try to ascertain what is wrong; and, 3) if it needs parts, there's a chance the parts may not be available. This is an honest business! I took the hint & looked up online the possibility of sourcing parts - no chance. If I have future need for electronic repairs, I will call Elite again. For now, I will set up the "wafer thin" CD system I have stored in a box so likely will still operate. (And the Panasonic will go to the Hazardous Waste dump on 7th St. sigh). read more

I believe we were scammed by this business owner. We brought in our TV because it wouldn't turn on. He evaluated it to see if a repair was warranted. This was $75. He determined it was broken and "repaired" it for an additional $200. We got home and the TV still didn't turn on. I tried a different outlet and it worked. So the problem was with the outlet all along. Our property manager fixed it for us. I believe the man at Elite Electronics knew the TV wasn't broken and was taking advantage of our lack of tech savvy. I'm giving two stars because one star seems overly harsh. There is the remote possibility he believed the TV was broken. Others seem to have good experiences with him. read more

We brought our Panasonic plasma tv in for repair, after the owner walked me through a complex series of instructions to reset the tv manually at home. Unfortunately, Panasonic has decided to no longer support the part that failed and we will have to get a new tv. Throughout the back and forth saga that unfolded, Cuong was very helpful and kept us in the loop, attempting to contact many potential suppliers (before and aftermarket), before ultimately giving up on finding the part needed (it was more than 2.5 weeks of searching). While he was not ultimately able to fix our tv, I felt more than fairly treated in our dealings. I would use Elite again if our tv fails. read more

He advised the motor needed for the repair arrived today and asked if I was available today between 1:00-2:00. I accepted the appointment. Cuong arrived several minutes early and was thoughtful enough to remove his wet shoes upon entering our home. Cuong was polite, professional and efficient. He made the repair and resolved our issue within 15-20 minutes of arriving. He asked if I had any questions when he completed the job. He then handed me his business card. I had a new tempurpedic mattress with the Ergo frame. After having it for about two months, the motor on the frame burnt out. Lee and Elite Electronics was the service provider who was assigned to fix the motor (since my bed/frame was still under warranty). Lee was super responsive. There was a delay in receiving the parts he needed (not Lee's fault..the motor was on backorder). Once he received all the parts he needed, he was quick to call and schedule a repair date. Third time is the charm! I have a Pioneer SX-1250 that I bought new back in the day. Years ago it fell victim to a power surge. I tried twice to get it repaired to no avail, so up on the shelf it went. Being dissatisfied with the overall sound of my vinyl collection run through my digital receiver, I recently pulled the monster out of storage and let Lee have a shot at it. Lee got it up and running, cleaned it up and returned me to my audio days of yesteryear! I have to say the music sounds amazing. A couple of days later Lee called to make sure I was still satisfied, and explained everything he had done. Lee is great! I took in my 70's Panasonic receiver, after toggling between Phono and Radio and having the power on it blow out. Lee took a look, and even spoke with panasonic directly to figure out that there was a funky setup for receiver between the power and the input selector. He was able to get the part, and fully restore my receiver to a beautiful sounding state (he even cleaned out the tape deck on it), and kept me in the loop every step of the way. I actually did not get any work done by elite (sort of) I called them up because my Samsung tv kept turning off and I had exhausted online resources and I was ready to get a service person to work on it. After explaining my situation I was given clear instructions on what to do and after a few hours my tv was like new again and for FREE! I have had so many places in the past drain you with diagnostics service calls and whatnot and this could have very well been the case and I would have never known. Appears to be selective electronics repair or maybe the services just aren't well defined. Tried yesterday and shop was closed at 5pm even thought the posted hours were 6pm. Tried again today. Brought in a TV circuit board for Philips LCD TV to be repaired. "What do you want me to do?" Asked if he could replace 2 capacitors on the board and test the others. "We don't do that." We purchased a tempurpedic adjustable bed less than a year ago. The electric system allowing us to adjust the bed stopped working. Mr. Lee came to our house on Feb. 25 and in less than 5 minutes he had the bed working! After our first call to Mr. Lee, he contacted us the next day, came out 2 days later and fixed the bed, and then called the following day to make sure the bed was working! (Note: before finding Mr. Lee, we wasted 2 MONTHS going around in circles with "technicians" coming to our house who clearly had no idea what the problem was or how to fix it.) He had it diagnosed within a day and Inhad it back in a week despite credit card warranty company taking 4 of those days to approve the repair. When my vintage Sony DAT recorder would not eject a tape I went to a shop in my town they said it couldn't be repaired and that I should just "throw it away." I called Elite & he said if he could find a part he could fix it. Within a week he did. When a similar problem turned up (turned out to be a bad tape) he got it out at no charge. UPDATE 2: Lee called me and said he thought it might be that I'm using the PHONO input. I'm not sure if he read my review or not. Either way it was nice of him to call me back. Bumping him up a star for the callback. UPDATE: I called a man named York at Alpha TV and Electronics. Super nice and patient. He deduced the problem. Lee was right. Just rude. After I spilled the water I disconnected the cable I used to my phone. When I re-plugged it in I used the PHONO jack which required a pre-amp (instead of AUX) which is a no-no. I took it out of that port and plugged into AUX and everything is fine. ORIGINAL: I called Lee and tried to explain the problem I was having. When he answered the phone "Hello" instead of his business name it threw me. Then Lee didn't show much patience and said I was confusing him as i described the scenario. The premise seemed simple. I have 2 things plugged into my amp. The CD player and a cable for my phone. I spilled water near my integrated amp and now when I try to play music from my phone or ipad it sounds muddy and distorted. I told Lee that the CD player connected to the amp sounds fine. It's just the phone input. I told him I moved the CD input to all the inputs on the back of that amp and it sounded fine. He deduced that the amp is fine then. So what is the problem? IDK because he said "OK? Goodbye" and hung up. Maybe he's having a bad day or many days (considering what's going on with the virus). I'm sure he's a nice guy but his english language skills over the phone aren't up to par. read more

I had a great experience at Elite Electronics. When you walk in you'll find the friendly shop owner Lee surrounded by many TVs in various states of disassembly. Don't let the appearance deter you. If you need your expensive TV or high end monitor repaired then Lee is your man. I own a Dell Ultrasharp 30 inch 2550x1600 display. It's an essential tool for graphic design, photo retouching, and music production. At $1,400 retail you can imagine I was pretty bummed out when my display went black. I really couldn't afford to replace this monitor right now. I went on Yelp and started calling places advertising themselves as "electronics" or "computer repair" experts. Over and over I was told "no we don't work on computer monitors". What a joke. These places can replace a broken iPhone screen or swap out a bad hard disc drive, but they don't have the chops to diagnose electronic circuitry or handle a soldering iron. Electronics experts, my ass. Eventually I came across Elite Electronics. People on Yelp were saying they brought their broken TVs to this guy and got them back good as new. A ray of hope shone through the clouds. I called and Lee told me at first that computer monitors are not worth repairing. Well that's true for the cheap monitors in most offices, but when I explained what I have he told me to come on in. Lee asked for a $50 deposit to diagnose the problem. I thought this was fair and plunked down the credit card. He called me two days later and explained that he would need to order parts from Dell and they were expensive, the repair would cost $300. Ouch! But I was in this far so I told him to go ahead. The risk paid off. Lee called a week later and I went to the shop to find my big, beautiful screen was bright as ever. It's been a couple months and my monitor is working great. In our disposable culture it's nice to be able to get something fixed instead of chucking it in a landfill. When I was a kid, people kept the same TV for a decade, and every town had a local TV repair guy to fix it for you. I'm really glad we still have a guy like that around and I'll definitely go back to Lee if I need repairs to my electronics. read more

You know all those great reviews of Elite Electronics? Well, guess what? They're 100% true! I bought a used Nakamichi tuner/amp for a very reasonable price and was thrilled to get such a high-end piece of equipment at such a low price. Should have known . . . . A couple of months after I bought it, the right channel went out, as did the display. I called a couple of places but Lee seemed the most knowledgeable and accommodating. I brought it in (after finding out later he actually makes house calls!), paid the reasonable $50 deposit, and crossed my fingers. Two days later, he called and was honest when saying he had both good and bad news. The bad was that he couldn't find a new display. The good was that he found new parts for everything else and that the tuner/amp was working as good as new. He explained that he didn't want to install a used display because there was no way to tell how long it would last but that he'd keep looking throughout his network for a new one and let me know when/if he found one. He was prompt, reliable, knowledgeable, ethical, and skilled. His prices were very reasonable. What more can you ask for in a technician? I'd trust him with any electronic repair I need done in the future. read more
