My experience with getting my TV repaired was way better than I expected. I honestly didn't even know that there were TV repair men out there. I thought that everyone just replaces it. When I looked at the cost to replace my 65 inch Roku TV, I decided I would give a repair service a try. I was not disappointed. York came to my house and picked up the TV. This is the second time we have used Alpha. The first was in 2019. I was relieved to find they were available now in 2025. Alpha fixed our wall mounted microwave. I described the problem and they brought the possible replacement parts. Problem was the same as in 2019. Very pleased with their quick response and repair. If we need another microwave repair we're calling them. Also the price difference between 2019 and 2025 was only about ten dollars. Great value read more

My Samsung plasma TV (pn60e7000) started malfunctioning a few weeks back. Video coming thru any of the HDMI ports would display properly for a few minutes and then become jittery and jumpy. Alpha did an in-home inspection, ordered a replacement mother board and repaired my TV to perfect function. While replacing the mother board, they also inspected the power board and re-soldered some worn connections. Final result: the TV is working great and all the HDMI ports are functional again. Bonus: many Samsung TV owners have experienced flaky and frustrating Smart Hub functionality where the Smart Hub software would automatically download and "update" whenever you try to run Smart Hub. It would do this over and over again even if it had just performed the update. I'm happy to find that my TV no longer does this. The Samsung Smart Hub on my TV is working reliably now. Nice bonus. Our microwave died mid-zap over the weekend. Not good when stuck at home with 2 kids and a husband sheltering in place. I called Alpha TV and Electronics at the recommendation of Keith at Appliance RX who had fixed my dishwasher a few years back. Alpha diagnosed the problem over the phone, gave me an accurate estimate (130 in labor and 60 in parts) and, even though I called at 4pm sent a technician out the same day. He arrived in a mask and gloves, followed appropriate social distancing, installed the new part in less than an hour. The cost was exactly the estimate and by 7pm I had my microwave back. I was having issues with my Samsung QLED TV and after speaking with Samsung's customer service department, was referred to Alpha TV and Electronics. Samsung generated a repair order for me as they were paying for the repairs and issued a ticket number to me for my reference. When I called Alpha TV, the guy who answered was very short with me and just all around rude. He said the service repair did not indicate that Samsung would be covering the costs and said he was going to deny the order. I told him that I would call Samsung back to see what was going on. I promptly got back in touch with a Samsung customer service rep and they confirmed that they did notate on the service request that they would be covering the repair costs. I ended up doing a 3 way call with Samsung's customer service department and the guy at Alpha TV and it was horrid. The guy at Alpha TV was uncooperative when the Samsung rep asked if he had seen the note on the service request and straight up told both of us to "find a different repair center to use". The Samsung customer service rep and I were both appalled. After the Alpha TV guy hung up on us, the Samsung rep apologized to me and said they would find a different authorized service center. I told the Samsung rep that I guess Alpha TV doesn't want their business. I think Alpha TV should be removed from their list of authorized repair centers. I will NEVER EVER bring anything here to be fixed. read more

We waited to get our Samsung TV back from them for 3 weeks to see it banged up on the sides with the frame cracked in multiple spots. They were unresponsive and honestly quite rude when we brought this to their attention. We paid $280 for them to replace the LED strips which they assured us they are very skilled at doing and this is what we get in return. The lady dragged the tv out with nothing underneath it and didn't seem to care at all. Will not be going there again and suggest you don't trust them with your electronics either. read more

I had used Alpha TV before with a TV problem, so I trusted them. I asked York to replace the magnetron in my GE ATR microwave, as I had been advised. Later he called to say "couldn't find one." Whoops, later that day he had found one. I scheduled the service and it tuned out to need more parts, which I declined. But I took a look at the "new" magnetron. It was blindingly obvious that was not at all new. York said it was, and all that dirt and discoloration was the result of factory testing. I was willing to forgo the service fee, but York refused to refund my parts deposit (for magnetron). I called Alpha TV later but I could not get a call back from (the owner). read more

I just had the most fantastic experience with Alpha TV & Electronics. My son has a 60" smart tv with Wi-Fi operating perfectly in his home a week prior. He just returned home; the tv would not allow us to get to the Wi-Fi setting to use our home Wi-Fi. I contacted LG tech support they tried to walk us through different steps to try to get us to that area with no luck; instead of showing us all the available Wi-Fi's to choose ours, it just kept saying Wi-Fi turned off, please turn on, then select your Wi-Fi. LG noted something wrong with the TV's inside and needs a maintenance specialist to solve the issue. The tv was bought from Best Buy, so they requested Alpha TV & Electronics to service us. The following day I received a call from a charming lady named Shalon with Alpha TV; she said she wanted to schedule our home repair. I was pleased with the quick response. She then asked if I could explain what is wrong with the tv, so I explained the LG tried to help us last night resolve the error message that the Wi-Fi is turned off, please turn it on. Shalon replied immediately, saying the Wi-Fi board went out. I will place the order for a new one now; it should arrive within the week, its better than me scheduling a tech within the week out then only to find out he needs to order the part. This way he will have the required part when he arrives at your house. I will call you to set up the appointment when the part comes in. A few days later, Shalon called and said the part arrived; she would like to schedule a tech to come out the following week. A technician named York arrived; he was very friendly and showed respect for our home. He removed his shoes at the door, and naturally, he was wearing a mask. He tried to get to the Wi-Fi before disassembling the tv again no luck. He replaced the Wi-Fi board with the one Shalon ordered, then tried to get to the Wi-Fi area before putting the tv back together; guess what? Between the both of them, our issue was resolved, I was able to see our Wi-Fi network. I am so pleased to have the opportunity to deal with such experienced individuals such as Shalon and York; by Shalon making the assessment over the phone of what the issue was and placing the order ahead of the tech's first visit save us the wait time. I will use Alpha TV for my future tv issues and refer them to my friends and family. Thank you, Shalon and York, for the pleasant first experience. However, after hours of troubleshooting the issue of no sound on our Vizio, telephone, remote assistance, and failed resetting to factory settings, we called Alpha Tv and spoke to York at 3:30. That same afternoon, he came to our house in the middle of his one-hour window (5:45), diagnosed the problem, gave us a total bill (no charge for house call because we hired him to fix the audio on our 54 inch Smart Vizio), plugged in our old 19 inch Vizio, and was gone by 6:15. In this day and age, who can come same-day to your house, diagnose the issue of a Smart Tv, order the necessary part, promise to return as soon as the part comes in, and give you a far-beyond fair final bill? No one! York is friendly, upbeat, and happy to help fix the problem. He's the best. If only he could be our around-the-house handyman!!! Sue PS. If you want to get ripped off, call Best Buy. I rated Alpha before! Their "repair" last almost 2 weeks. Then the exactly the same thing happened again! So Super Bowl in the bedroom on the little TV instead of the nice big screen in the living room. Alpha sent ONE man instead of the two needed to take the big set down. They just replaced the mother board, did no diagnostic as I had questioned them on prior to coming. It was a "bandaid" repair. On returning to Best Buy and talking to the GEEK squad guys in person. They said from what we told them it was not the mother board but another problem and they replaced the TV with another, and the option to upgrade. We made it very clear to Best Buy that ABSOLUTLY no sub contractors from Alpha are ever welcome to our house again. Alpha and the 4days it took for them to return our call when they failed to keep the first appointment was unacceptable, they are very difficult to understand, and the tech they sent lacked confidence, and knowledge of his so called profession. No phone calls no email no text and no follow through whatever... nada... zip... zero... nothing. They are contracted out with Best Buy. I called them two days prior to them coming out to confirm and they weren't in so I left a voicemail. Seems they are never in and never answer their phone. I apologies, no text, no email... again no nothing. Called Best Buy, had to reschedule and put back another WEEK till TV (new) gets fiixed. "So do you want a morning appointment?" i had my "one and only" tv crash the day before new year's eve. it's a 6.5 year old 55 inch Sony LCD and just refused to "power on" that morning. i did some basic troubleshooting before calling Sony support to determine the "DPS" board needed to be replaced (turns out it's a not uncommon problem). I called and spoke to York about a problem I was experiencing on my integrated amp. After only a few minutes and two phone calls he figured out that I was plugging my phone into the PHONO port (which is not good). The sound is super distorted and sounds bad when you do this. Anyway, he was super cool and patient. I had spilled water near my amp and thought I'd blown it out. Turns out I just re-plugged my phone into the wrong port. Thanks York! I have finally found the greatest place for my tv needs. After a BAD experience with Angies List/ Home Advisor, I had to find a reliable company to fix my 83" tv. I needed a light bulb put in and had the bulb. The repairman for the other company never showed up, then when I tried to rebook found out they charged me before anyone even came out! I was irate, so I started searching for someone reliable and who knew their business. I read some of the reviews on Alpha TV and decided to give them a try. The sweetest person answered the phone Shalon and when I explained what I needed, she was right on it. She called the repairman while I was on the phone and set up my appointment for the next day. Unbelievable so quick. The next day York showed up so knowledgeable on my TV he was the so understanding on all my concerns & answered all questions. He put the light bulb in, but it did not go on, so he checked out the code the TV was giving him and I needed a color wheel he said, so he ordered that & within a week my TV was up & running with a beautiful picture. He then hooked up my cable box, dvd, sound bar, and game. I was never charged until the job was completed. My TV should be good for a few years now. Great customer service! Our Sony TV had no picture one morning, and I looked online via Sony Help. Alpha Electronics immediately came out to the house, and fixed it on the spot. The cost of the in-house call + labor + parts came out to $255. All the other authorized Sony dealers would not come out earlier than 2 weeks, and they estimated their cost at $180 for just the call. My Panasonic Viera was crapping out on me -- failing Y board, which means red flares all over the screen. The picture quality is otherwise very good, so I wasn't ready to take it to the graveyard. I called these guys, and they came the same afternoon (on a late Saturday afternoon), and we loaded the TV in the back. Picked it up today, couple of days later - as good as new, for a little over $200, parts and labor included, and 3 months warranty. This is a no nonsense shop, Chinese guy and his son. His van looks pretty beaten up, and his shop -- well not any better. His English is not too good. But he really knows his stuff, and he is very friendly. This is the real deal. I looked around the shop a bit, out of curiosity, and they got Zeniths from the 70s and 60s as well for repair. Felt like I was in a museum. These guys can handle anything, they really know their way around TVs. Warmly recommended. read more

I called Samsung because my less than one year old television would not turn on. They told me that this was the closest location to me that would fix it under warranty. I came here with my receipt and told them it was under warranty. They told me they would call me once it was fixed. I waited a week, and no word. I told myself I would call them the next day to inquire if it was ready for pick up. Fortunately, I got a call the next day, and they said I could come get it. They tested to see if the television turned on before handing it to me. They said the problem was with the motherboard and that if the t.v. breaks again in less than one year, to bring it back to them to fix for free. On the same day of pick up, I also brought my three year old Samsung in that would not turn on. It was no longer under warranty, but I wanted to find out what was wrong with it. They said they would call me once again before starting work. They called me back within a few days and said it would cost $22x to fix. I told them to go ahead and fix it since i bought the t.v. for $650 originally and barely use it. I have yet to pick it up, but am sure the results will not disappoint. read more

I don't write many reviews but thought I would chime in this time around. Having just picked up my fixed TV, I am so glad that took my LG 55" flatscreen over for a second opinion. I originally took the TV to a local place in SF, but was told that to fix would require replacing the entire screen and therefore not worth salvaging. Not wanting to give up, I took it over to Alpha in Oakland for a free diagnostic. Luckily we did! The TV was fixed within the estimated time, and I saved $$$ not having to buy a new TV. These guys are clearly able to go the extra mile to get the TV fixed while others couldn't. Thanks Alpha. I was scheduled with these people through LG for a warranty repair of a new TV on a Sunday. Someone from Alpha called me mid-week to ask for pictures of the issue along with the serial number of the TV, which I provided. I asked for confirmation that they had received the pictures and they never responded. I was a little worried but thought maybe they were busy. Then the day the repair was scheduled came by (Sunday) and no one showed up. I called them several times and left messages and no one responded. The end of the day the next day (Monday) no one had called me back so I called again. The person who answered seemed to have no idea what was going on and put me on the phone with someone else who stated they "Aren't open on weekends". But no one ever told me that. Even the guy who was asking for pictures of my television. He blamed LG for scheduling it on a weekend and said they don't do repairs on weekends, as though I should have known that somehow. He had the information from LG, so the least he could have done was tell me that there was a mistake when he called me previously, rather than just not showing up and wasting my time. He offered to email me info about another repair center that would fulfill my repair on a weekend, to which I agreed. That was several days ago now, I've received nothing. I called LG and they said that Alpha had just cancelled the repair. So there ya go. They might do okay work on weekdays, but provided me terrible customer service and did nothing to try to correct the error that was made. read more

I wish I could give less than one star for this company! Alpha TV and repair ruined my tv! I was sent this company through Best Buy repair services for my tv. The screen went out on my tv and Best Buy sent out Alpha TV. I was told 5 to 10 business days to repair. The tv was returned with smudges and hand prints on the inside of the screen. I declined this and told them to fix it. They had my tv for another week. The tv then came back with SCRATCHES on the inside of the screen. Alpha TV told me to contact Best Buy since "its your issue not ours". I have other issues with Best Buy now but I was told they will not warranty the "work" and I am now stuck with a TV that was damaged by this company. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ALPHA TV!!!! read more

Our 4 year old 65" Vizio flatscreen suddenly shut off and stopped working. Alpha TV came out to our house, took the TV apart, and diagnosed the problem as a failed power supply which they had to order. A few days later they came back out and installed the new power supply. Guy who came was super nice and polite. Repair wasn't particularly cheap but a fraction of the price of a replacement TV. I would definitely recommend Alpha TV and use them again. read more
