We consider ourselves beyond lucky to have wandered into this quaint little restaurant on a busy Saturday night. We were welcomed in by an impeccably dressed man who we at first believed to be the owner with a complementary champagne toast after being seated in the courtyard. As the night continued we were informed by our waiter that the aforementioned daper gentleman was not the owner but the Maitre D of the establishment. To say he enjoyed his job would be an understatement but the fact that he did only added to our most enjoyable experience of our trip. As our dinning experience continued through the night the Maitre D and staff were good to be attentive yet not overbearing and the food was amazing. At the conclusion of our meal the Maitre D once again stopped by our table to graciously thank us for dinning with them as he presented my wife with a rose for ladies night as well as 2 complimentary tickets to a local dueling piano bar. We enjoyed our experience so much that not only are we already planning our next trip to Charleston and Eli's Table but we are planning on bringing others with us to experience the TRUE Southern hospitality and awesome food that can be found at Eli's Table. read more

Literally every aspect of our experience was perfect! As we were met immediately with smiles and comfort from the hostesses Kelly and Haley along with the GM Mallory then quickly sat at the bar as our table was being set. Tyler, the bartender is probably the most professional and knowledgeable bartender we've ever met gave us complimentary champagne. He told us all about the menu while we were sitting there. Few minutes later we were escorted to our table and immediately greeted by our server Davide. He was so amazing throughout the night. The table next to us had a wonderful experience as well and started chatting about it, there server was Carlos who was very attentive to us as well. You can tell the place is really well managed. Best dining experience we had in Charleston. To top it all off, as we were leaving the owner happened to come in and he was so gracious and friendly to thank us for coming in and mentioned he looked forward to seeing us again. When in Charleston, Eli's Table is a must do! Food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Thank you Eli's Table for giving my wife and I an amazing memory! read more

On a recent week's trip to Charleston we had brunch at Eli's twice. The reason was clear: excellence. Although I almost slipped this to a 4 due to "slipping masks" on the staff, which should be monitored more closely, the service, food and quantity were excellent. Start with the beignets - every restaurant needs a signature start - and this is it for brunch! They are soft, chewy and the housemade coulis is amazing. The entrees came exactly as ordered, and the fresh fruit side is special - not just melon chunks and grapes which you get so many places. The atmosphere is upscale yet comfortable and warm, and "fits" well with the historic Charleston vibe. The courtyard looked wonderful, although we did not eat out there. Also, when the homemade biscuit arrived hot from the oven, I must say I did a double-take - not only was it beautiful but it was delicious! Perfectly put together. This place obviously knows what they're doing, and does it well. Go! read more

My wife, her brother and I were visiting Charleston last weekend and stumbled into Eli's late on Sunday afternoon -- and we are glad we did! We were looking for a quiet place to grab a bite to eat and just talk, without loud background music. We were ushered into a portion of the restaurant where no one else was seated -- just what we were looking for. Our server, Brian M., was very patient in explaining how the various dishes were prepared and we took our time in ordering. My wife had the beet salad and crab cakes and loved it. Her brother ordered the soup of the day and the crab cakes as well, and was equally pleased. I had the grilled chicken and charred veggies with a delicious vinaigrette dressing. It was a perfect late lunch/early dinner choice. All in all, we enjoyed the experience, made all the more special by Brian M's gracious attention to detail and helpful explanations. I recently dined at Elie's Table, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. The chef's friendliness added an extra layer of warmth to the experience. Now, let's talk about the food - it was exceptional! What truly stood out was the attention to dietary preferences. The dishes were flavorful and satisfying without being drenched in butter, which is a refreshing change from many restaurants. Additionally, the beignets were an absolute highlight - perfectly cooked, light, and utterly delicious. Each bite was like a little piece of heaven. Overall, Elie's Table exceeded my expectations in every way. Delicious food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere make it a must-visit for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. Filthy restaurant and staff. Fecal spatter and urine all over the bathroom toilets and floors. I had the worst experience ever at this place. The "manager" came out and accosted me aggressively accusing me of dirtying their bathroom after using it. I never did a thing to mess up their business or bathrooms. I was disgusted even having to use their facility. Yet that did not prevent them from publicly accusing me of it in front of my colleagues and the patrons of the restaurant. I have never seen such unprofessional behavior or attitude. Clearly the manager was under the influence of something as he was sweating profusely and unable to control himself. This is is the filthiest restaurant downtown. Would never recommend someone here to experience Charleston. read more

Made reservations for large group for brunch. Arrived at 11:30 and given late lunch menus because we were too large for brunch. They were rude. We complained and they gave in saying it might take longer. We didn't mind. We just wanted brunch options meaning eggs. They turn us over to a waiter named Jon. Let me tell you the hole mood changed. Jon was excellent and attentive. He never got flustered and treated us with respect with a twist of humor. If not for him I'd give this place a negative review but he was a 10+. We were all so impressed with how he handled everything. He should get a raise or something. In the beginning we were ready to walk out but he saved the day. Kudos to Jon. My hubby and I had reservations here for this past Valentines Day. What a BEAUTIFUL restaurant! From the moment we walked in until we got into our car to leave the customer service was wonderful. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. We were sat in front of the window so we got to view all the workings of the place as we enjoyed our appetizers and wine. Our waiter was very familiar with the menu and all its bits and pieces. He also recommended a wonderful wine. The food was absolutely divine. Such a great meal. Order the espresso rubbed ribeye and ask to be seated in Brian's area. He has a big personality and is clearly a pro with lots of experience taking care of his guests. I've had the steak twice and both times it was a perfect medium - bright pink in the middle but it isn't bloody when you cut into it. The espresso rub gives it a great crust and bite. The creamed spinach was some of the best I've ever had. I complimented this meal with their Manhattan - at Brian's suggestion and was not disappointed. It was a solid, strong drink - not some watered down imitation. read more
