BOLT, don't walk to El Zaguan. I've been a fan favorite and frequent flyer to the original location on Adams for almost 3 years. I recently moved to Midtown and ventured with my dogs (in their stroller). Where to begin!! +Service is top-notch!! Jamie is passionate about providing customizable options. Not to mention if you need any downtown PHX insights, he's exceptionally knowledgeable. +The coffee is not your typical cup of Joe; it's bursting with flavor. Best iced coffee I've had (no exaggeration). I'm usually a hot coffee gal, the triple digits had me change my preference and I'm glad I did:)) +I got a 24 oz vanilla protein and banana smoothie for UNDER $8 dollars. It was DELICIOUS and hit the spot on a hot day following a long walk. +My fur babies enjoyed a $3 grilled chicken side (for salads LOL) and scarfed it!! Can't wait to be back!! Well done Jesus, Yashira, and Jamie. Eeeekkkkk!! ******** You won't be disappointed; the food, the quality, the price, the service... served to you by some of the most genuinely, kind owners you'll ever meet :))

The Horchata Latte and the Pink Lotus Energy - both amazing!!!

Tucked away like a hidden gem, this charming little cafe blends cozy vibes, delicious bites, and Instagram-worthy charm into one unforgettable experience. Nestled in central Phoenix, in the Encanto Coworking space Property, El Zaguan Cafe (The Hallway) offers so much more than just a space as the name suggests, but truly a path of sorts to the most delicious Mexican cuisine and beverages. After pursuing their menu I decided on a Horchata Latte and Breakfast Chilaquiles. To start, the coffee was the star in the Latte with a delicious hint of cinnamon sweet. The flavors of the Chilaquiles burst right off the plate and are absolutely amazing. I will definitely be going back!

This place has an amazing mazapán pumpkin late! I've never thought of combining the two but it's a great combination!

Great location, cheerful service and the best horchata

A little hard to find, but it's worth it. Good coffee and great service. Haven't tried the food yet but the menu looks good.

It has plenty of room, a clean modern feel, and a steady crowd of people working on laptops, so it's a good spot if you want to settle in for a bit. Food options are pretty limited, and with the background music and lobby energy, it's not the quietest coffee shop in town - digital nomads beware. Let me start off by saying my coffee latte was excellent.. 5/5. I ordered the Sweet Treat latte and it was delicious but sadly I won't be back. I walked in and sat at a bar where the barista was making drinks. I watched as she made drinks, cleaned, did everything except greet or acknowledge me! After giving it some time, I said to her excuse me do you have a menu and she goes menu is over there. I then responded it would have been nice if you said something to me and she responded oh the bar is closed to that I responded well this is my first time here and I didn't know that but maybe if you would have said something to me. Anyway, I clearly was irritated and if I didn't have the passport for the free drink, I would have left. I had every intention of buying a pastry or something else and sitting in the shop and enjoying my morning but she rubbed me the wrong way! How hard is it to welcome someone, ask if they need help instead of ME having to get her attention when the place was empty. I wish I got her name. I found her rude and won't be returning. The theme is (as one might suspect) songbirds and the entire Cafe is decorated with small songbird items. As a detail oriented person, I was in heaven noticing all the cute decorations. I ordered the matcha latte and it did not disappoint. My friend ordered an iced americano. Both are classic items and they delivered well. There is plenty of seating inside and outside (weather permitting) and it seems like it would be a peaceful place to study or work. The baristas were sweet and patient and helpful with the menu.

Apparently the shop sources coffees and teas from local businesses. For example, coffees = Infusion Coffee Roasters in Tempe, loose leaf teas and chai = Maya Tea Company in Tucson, kombucha = Milly Moon Kombucha in Phoenix, and breakfast burritos = Lua Lua Catering. [Parking]: Mostly metered parking and I ended up parking few blocks away from the shop (plenty of metered parking spots near the intersection of E McKinley St & N 5th St). [Atmosphere]: Inside of this historic house, the wall features the work of local artists. The shop also has a cute outdoor patio area with tables. [Menu]: Apparently Matcha Latte is one of the more popular drinks here. The shop offers 12 black tea options, 9 green tea options, 8 herbal tea options, 4 white tea options, and 3 oolong tea options. *** Matcha Latte (16 oz, iced - $6.25): I was surprised that my drink was sugar free by default and I probably say yes when the staff had asked about adding sweetener. The drink was not as creamy as I thought and it was honestly a fairly mediocre drink. The drink also came with a paper straw. *** A great spot for a casual 1st date due to great vibe, but matcha latte just didn't hit the spot.

The first time I ordered it unsweetened was accidental, but trying it without sweetener or flavor was what made me realize that their matcha may be the best I've ever had. I've also had their Mas matcha latte and it is also absolutely delicious and simple and still allows me to taste the matcha through the vanilla and sweetness. I've been to other places that serve Kettl matcha, but none have tasted nearly as rich as Futuro's. The atmosphere itself is true to its name. It is futuristic, simple, and beautiful. It is full of unique art pieces of all types, and they sell their coffees and teas as well. I feel at peace inside and they always have vibey music playing at a perfect volume and incense lit. The service itself is one of a kind and makes me feel like I'm at a 5-star restaurant. They bring your items out on a beautiful tray and will always serve your drink with a cup of water on the side if you order it for here. They will even package your food up for you, which I would never expect from a coffee shop. It can be busy at times with a bit of a wait because the drinks are all made one at a time, but it's always worth the wait. The place isn't very big but has plenty of seating given the space. For working from home, they do have wifi but limited outlets. Their pastries served from a local bakery are also delicious.

I'm currently hooked on the Cafe de Olla, a gorgeous blend of sugar and spice that's topped with a star anise pod that enhances the aroma with every sip. But virtually every menu item -- honorable mention to the Cajeta -- is balanced and well crafted. The baristas are all very knowledgeable about their teas, as well. I've recently been SO hooked by their semi-new weekend pastry artist, Ghita, who crafts such unique desserts. Most recently, I tried their absolutely FIRE black sesame craquelin with a mildly sweet tahini cream. The rhubarb cream pastry was also gorgeous and creative. Futuro as a space is intentionally designed as well, with plenty of seating on both sides, boutique goods for sale, and great reads. It's the perfect place to read a book and chill on weekends. And the staff, even when busy, seem to always perfectly serve each order and efficiently clear out plates. Officially my favorite coffee shop 1000% now.

I saw in one of the comfy chairs while I waited for my former student to arrive. At that point, we moved to a regular table and then went and ordered drinks. She ordered a coffee, and I ordered a lemonade. We both enjoyed our drinks which were ready very quickly. There were smaller and larger tables, and there were also countertops along with business cards and marketing items at the back of the room on a thin table. Lola Coffee began with humble beginnings going back to 1992 with a cart, then Lux Coffee, and eventually Lola Coffee downtown. Now, there is even a second Lola Coffee location in Arcadia near 40th Street and Indian School. Today, they serve coffee, pastries, and breakfast. The Downtown Phoenix location hours are weekdays from 6:30 AM to 7 PM and weekends from 7 AM to 7 PM. You can see their menu, history, photos, and more on their website (https://lolacoffeebarphx.com). While I had trouble choosing between a lemonade for a cold beverage or hot chocolate for a warm beverage, it's great they have so many options. Again, try them for drinks, breakfast, or pastries. Their staff is so helpful and the actual restaurant is quite welcoming to everyone.
