To start, the service her was top-notch. From the friendly greeting to the water girl to the…read moreservers, everyone seemed to genuinely care that we have an enjoyable experience. The chips arrived hot, and the salsas (hot and mild) were the real deal. Ask for the green salsa, too, as it goes beyond the normal salsa verde, and it is really, really good. My husband and MIL ordered the Halibut Tacos ($26.50), and these were surprisingly just okay. The halibut itself was great, but there wasn't any sort of sauce with the tacos, which left the taco as a whole coming across as somewhat bland. My son ordered the Acapulco Dinner ($29.95), which contained shrimp, crab meat, chicken breast, cream sauce, tomatoes, avocado, and cheese, served with tortillas. He loved it. I ordered the Seafood Fundido ($28.50), which is a deep-fried specialty made up of shrimp and crabmeat, jalapeño cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and pico. Naughty, but so good!! I wish we would have been able to try their margaritas, as I'm sure they're amazing. However, we had a long drive ahead of us, so we settled with water, which was kept refilled I recommend this restaurant, and I'd happily return.

I asked for shrimp added to a meal and I received 3 shrimp and was never notified that they're added one at a time. Never asked how many shrimp I wanted, never notified of the insane up-charge. Whoever decided this price should be the first admitted when mental asylums re-open. Wasting my hard earned dollar on shit food. I'm embarrassed to admit I even ate here now knowing what I know. Probably the worst mexican in all AK, maybe all of the west coast? Do you want better mexican? Go to El Pastor, Blazing Street Tacos, or Xalos. No reason you should go here unless you want to clog their toilet as a gift.

Simply wow! Wow. This place transports you to Mexico/…read moreOaxaca. Fresh, authentic and Uncompromising flavors. We have had a lot of Mexican food on both sides of the border. their fried beans is #1. Spicy Salsas wow, slaps you , yes from the first bite, it's unbelievable they are here in Anchorage. Enchiladas, verde pollo were flavor explosions. You will have to remind yourself you are in Anchorage Alaska, when you're enjoying their delicious food and friendly caring staff. Yes the menu will be a bit challenging and they may disappear after serving you.. ;) but it's necessary for what they deliver. If they were in NY or CA, they will be minting, But of all places Anchorage gets this Treasure. Loved the food, the spice, the flavor and the freshness. Caring friendly staff. Loved it. Good luck guys. Keep up the good work.

While the mole sauce was delicious, the chicken thighs I received were so small and bony, my rice lacked flavor and the beans were very soupy. My chips were like the little broken pieces at the bottom of the bag making it hard to scoop any decent amount of salsa into them. For almost $30/plate I was anticipating more protein, bolder flavors and better quality. I want to give them another chance, but sometimes first impressions are lasting impressions. Service was friendly but waitstaff were busy so not as attentive. Ambiance is what you'd expect from a hole in the wall.

We both enjoyed the HUGE pile of fresh cut French fries and appreciated they kept our water glasses full. Friendly and prompt service, reasonable prices (for the state) and appears a great selection of beer (was a work lunch so will need to return for a cold one later)

Like, Home-Alone-slap-your-virgin-face-with-after-shave-and-scream-levels of blown away. Not only do they have a TON of taps. Pay no attention to some of the older reviews that specify the number of taps. The current number is now: 64. I'll say that again SIXTY-FOUR taps. If there is a place in the state of AK with more taps than that, I would like to know where it is. Currently, to my brain, this place is the current Sourdough Tap King. Anyway, not only do they have the MOST taps. They have some really unique stuff. There were beers on tap here that I've never even seen for sale at the larger Brown Jug warehouses! There are beers on tap I didn't even know were distributed in AK! Most impressive. The food, was just OK. I got some tacos and they were alright. They filled me up but weren't much to write home about. Given the Gambrinian fortitude on display here, I will definitely be back. It makes an excellent post-hike stop if you're up near Twin Peaks.
