We had the fish ceviche, sopa de pollo, fish taco, guacamole, chips & salsa, and pork taco. The ceviche bowl was a large portion to share. Could have been a meal on its own. The salsa was delicious. From what we could tell there are three Mexican restaurants near Marathon. One was closed on Sunday. We tried to go to the one that appears to be a tiki bar and food truck. Nobody there but the tv was on. We decided to try this one even though the reviews weren't great. We were very glad we did. The servers were very nice and the food was great. Having walked past it a couple times I never saw a menu posted on their windows which is shocking. So I hunted online for any menu and finally found one. Missing out on basic marketing. Ordered takeout over the phone. Had to call a couple times maybe because the line was busy - but if so, it wasn't obvious from the automated message if I called the right place. After I got through I voiced my order easy enough. They said 20-25 minutes. The order was ready in styrofoam containers along with little tubs of hot sauce in the bags. Verdict on the food: super bland. Almost like there's a salt or seasoning shortage that I don't know about. 4 dishes and each was equally as plain. The hot sauce was decent, but your dish shouldn't require it to let it sing. I don't understand this and each of my 4 eaters remarked the same thing. A couple examples: Tacos Al pastor with pico de gallo. Couldn't taste the chicken much. It was diced really well but not enough meat in the taco to tell. The meat and entire taco lacked flavor. The pico de gallo didn't have any lime juice or salt or cilantro mixed in it was simply diced tomatoes and onions. Chicken fajitas were cooked perfectly and included a good size chicken breast and plenty of peppers and onions. But just no flavor - it was bland. The side rice and refried beans were equally as bland. The corn tortillas were made perfectly and seemed home made. These guys could easily step up their game with such little effort. They're missing the basics of restaurant marketing, and missing out on a ton of repeat business. read more

It was described as beef with lettuce, cheese and pico de gallo. I received a greasy soft flour tortilla flat with shredded beef and cilantro. No lettuce and or cheese or pico. We had six people in our party. They brought one small basket of chips and one small bowl of salsa. We ordered two orders of guacamole and one order of queso dip. They did not give us any more chips until we asked. Then they charged us $6 for the second basket of chips. Stay away. read more

I stopped in to place order and wanted to run an errand and come back. She called within 15 minutes to say, the order was ready. Worst restaurant experience I've ever had! . Went for take out, and called several times on my way there and no one answered. Figured I would just put in the order when I got there. Arrived around 6:30 and it was somewhat busy, nothing crazy. The owners son is running the front counter and is the laziest, most spoiled little prick you could imagine. Right off the bat he was complaining to me any my son saying how he was there since 6am , blah, blah blah complaining how tired he was and said and I quote "We are suffering from success" I mean the 2nd day and he's already complaining?? I was halfway through my order which was for 4 people and he says to me after stopping writing what I was telling him, this is going to take 1 hour. Hoping I would say no I guess, but I said fine I would wait the hour. My daughter was behind me and she orders next for her and her bf. Took a little walk and about 25 mins later he brings out my daughters food. I was like hey where's mine? he said the order was bigger so I had to wait longer. another hour after my daughter got her food now and everyone else that came with family of 4 was also eating. Now I'm getting pissed, asked a waitress if she knew what was going on, no one knew anything. Finally the spoiled brat who is suffering so bad from the success comes back and the damn order had not even put on yet! He says to me I told you so, like he was punishing me for making the order when he didn't want to take it. Finally I told him if they are too busy to fulfill my takeout order in 2 hours to refund my card which he was happy to do so. Not sure what kind of games he was playing the place had emptied out and even the damn kitchen workers were eating! 2 hours he saw us waiting and had not evcen put the damn ticket in! I also saw him turn away several parties while the inside had around 4 empty tables and that was at 7:45 way before the 9 o clock closing time. Hate to bash a new local place and I have eaten here for many years and after this I will never go back again after this kid played so many games with me. I wonder if Mom knows how he is running the business like this.
