    Cute truck
    Christy S.

This cute little food truck is just a short drive off of the main highway. The truck is nestled into an area with tropical foliage and some cute vacation cottages. There are a few tables for dining here, but we took our food to go. The server greeted me and took my order, and after about a 5-7 minute wait, I got my food to go. I ordered the daily special, which was 3 Al Pastor tacos and a drink. When I got to the hotel, I realized they had given us 3 fish tacos. They were still very good. Our other entree was a steak quesadilla, which was pretty good, but I had a couple of bites of gristle in the meat, which is a little off putting. The overall flavor was good. This is a good place for a quick, affordable lunch if you are in the area.

The food was delicious! The fish tacos and shrimp tacos were my favorite. Nice laid back environment with a couple picnic tables to eat at. Service was friendly and fast.

Very cute little food truck area. There is a bar which is a separate business with a time hut. I enjoyed the shrimp tacos and my husband had the carne asada tacos. 3.75 for each taco They are small so if you are hungry you will need about 4 tacos. Service was good not overly friendly.

La Isla Taco Grill is an awesome taco truck right outside of Tropical Cottages, not even 1/4 mile off of the main road. The food here was really great and the service was fast and friendly. They have a few tables you can sit at near the truck and there is an unrelated tiki bar just steps away that you could probably sit at if needed. We ordered the chicken quesadilla, steak nachos, chicken strips, and a fish taco. Everyone in the family enjoyed the food and it was fairly priced (around $13 each). If you're having issues finding it, just set your GPS for Tropical Cottages. Check out their hours because they do take a short break in the middle of the day. Definitely give this place a try if you're looking for a great food truck.

Some of the best tacos and street corn I've ever had. The food truck is located next to a Tiki Bar if you want a drink. The service was quick and friendly. These are traditional Mexican tacos. Really fresh ingredients. I would say the fish tacos, with Mahi Mahi, are the best thing to order.

    Chicken tacos

Had to try on this trip after reading the great rating on a website for good restaurants on Marathon Key. Excellent tacos! I had one fish taco and one chicken taco and my daughter had two chicken tacos. Very good! Next time will try the steak taco also. Tacos were delish! Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely go back on our next trip! Recommend!!!

Tiny burritos, also didn't get order right--no beans or rice added. Spent $50 dollars (two people) for two burritos, side of rice and beans, one street corn and left hungry still.

Our favorite (and most affordable!) taco in the keys! We stopped on the way up to Islamorada and loved it. They have plenty of seating behind the food truck with a full bar and bathroom. We got the pork and mahi tacos. Both were great and very fresh. Would definitely return.

    Food order and pickup.

What a wonderful experience. Loving the food truck vib with plenty of seating. The shrimp are so fresh they pop in your mouth. The Mai fish tacos were also a winner along with Pastor. A must try if you happen through Marathon Keys.

Food truck with a tiki hut and outdoor bar next door. Look for small ground level sign off route 1, drive straight back and find gravel parking on both sides of the street. Casual vibe, authentic flavors, fresh ingredients! Fresh limeade, Jarritos soda, and crunchy toppings. The service was fast and experience enjoyable. We dined for an early dinner, I'd recommend the tacos. Nachos were made with homemade chips but the flavor is in their seasonings and salsas. Stop in for a quick meal to go, or a casual outdoor island feel. Can't go wrong!

This place is very popular so be prepared to wait as they also make their food nice and fresh!! We ordered the tacos and burritos and I preferred the burritos. I felt fuller and thought the value was great for what was paid. Plus they were quite delicious and hefty. The tacos in my opinion were not really filling to the belly. Bonus points for having outdoor seating in a nice shaded area and bathrooms onsite as well that were clean.

We got seated inside just as the sun was starting to set. Sadly all the guests that had finished eating right before us decided to walk over to the dock outside the restaurant which just so happened to be the exact viewing location for the sunset so we didn't get any really good photos of it bc there were so many people over there videoing it and taking photos. It was still nice scenery while we waited for our food though. I ordered ceviche to start us off as our appetizer and it was really good. My dinner was a pasta dish with shrimp and scallops. The sauce was supposed to be a white cream sauce but it was really runny. Even adding extra Parmesan cheese to it didn't help thicken it. It tasted ok. Not my best pick. I had a choice of soup or salad with it. I chose their she crab soup and I'm glad I did. It was great. Almost reminded me of homemade chicken and dumplings soup just with crab. I really liked it. I should have stopped with that and the ceviche. My husband got a grouper fish sandwich. He thought it was good but the prices were a bit high for what it was. His fish sandwich was $29. Although good, not worth $29. My pasta definitely not worth the $31. May be a bit of a tourist trap but the food was decent.

Hey, Snowflakes, if you're bringing your naughty kids down who decide NOT to obey the don't feed the bird signs (includes fish), do us a favor and use your offspring as bait. I know that asks a lot since you'd have to put your phone down and address your screaming brat. But seriously, the staff here are too professional to police your ignorance. The service and food were both fantastic! While they focus on seafood, there is something for everyone on the menu, even your picky eaters. Fresh and very flavorful!! The fish dip, lobster/steak, chicken, key lime pie, and cheesecake are all highly recommended. Restrooms have AC and are clean (with mouthwash). Note you need to go up a flight of brick stairs to access it. May want to call for accessibility options if needed. There is also extensive parking to the left AAs you drive in. Most go to the right, by the entrance. Great views and atmosphere!

It was perfectly balanced--tart, sweet, smooth, and strong without being overpowering. It was exactly what I had been hoping to find. Our bartender, Megan, made the experience even better. Since my friend was driving and didn't want alcohol, Megan made her a Key lime margarita-style mocktail that was absolutely delicious and so refreshing. From the host who welcomed us to the team serving our food, everyone was warm, kind, and attentive. Our waters were refilled multiple times without us ever having to ask, and we always felt well taken care of. We ordered the buffalo shrimp, which came out hot, fresh, crispy, and packed with flavor. To finish, we shared the Oreo cheesecake, and it was the perfect ending to our meal. Megan checked in on us throughout our visit, making sure we were enjoying everything, and her genuine hospitality really stood out.
