He spoke English and what brought me in was tropical margarita.. pineapple I believe.. so I order just that and to table comes a beautiful plain margarita and a frozen pina colada.. ok I'm not driving I'll indulge in 2 beverages! We get the guacamole which was great and hubby got tacos.. not amazing! Went on Tuesday night before a night out. It was a group of 7 of us and we were seated immediately on the patio. There was a guy there doing balloon hats and he made each of us one which was pretty cool and fun. They had a two for one drink special, so I ended up ordering a mango margarita and then a pomegranate margarita. They tasted good, but also like straight juice. I placed an order for a salmon burger but after about 10 minutes I was told they didn't have any buns so I couldn't get my burger. I decided to get the nachos instead. Everyone's food was coming and they were all enjoying themselves as I sat there waiting for my nachos. They finally came out and I was very underwhelmed. They were good but nothing spectacular. The best drinks we had in Mexico! This little gem off the main drag is worth the extra two blocks of walk. The cocktails are fantastic and HUGE (wish I had taken a picture before we drank them). STAY FAR AWAY!!! My girlfriend and I came here for dinner and drinks on a Saturday night. The atmosphere is really cool and that's where the fun stops. We ordered drinks and appetizers. The mango margaritas were by far the worst I've ever had in any country. Flavorless, and couldn't even taste the alcohol. We ordered ceviche and nachos for apps. The nachos were mediocre. The ceviche came out looking like a pile of mushy garbage. I took one bite and decided not to risk my health and told the waitress I didn't like it. She then went and got "the boss" who argued with me about why I didn't want it. He then went back to the kitchen and I saw him smiling and laughing with the cooks. At that minute i knew I wasn't eating a single thing coming out of that kitchen and told the waitress to cancel our entrees and asked for the check. The owner then came back out for another argument, then he essentially told us to leave and would not accept payment for the drinks and nachos. So I gave a tip to the waitress and left. Avoid this garbage food at all costs. Sneaky owner who gets personally offended when you don't eat his food. Plenty of other spots in the area with better food and without a used car lot vibe read more

What an awesome look this place has to offer that's it! The food was bland they sell better beans in a can than whoever cooks them here. I got the Eggs with chorizo breakfast and I got sad forcing myself to eat it since it was so salty. I didn't finish it but the waiter was so nice I tried to not be a bump in his road. My partner got the chicken enchiladas and they looked so beautiful when presented but the tortilla was super old it was hard to cut through it and the chicken was literally Tyson chicken placed inside of them. We got offered two free shots while walking by and I don't drink but my partner took his shot and they charged him for it so don't fall for that scam walking by. It was so good that we came back the second night to eat before we went home ( back to the states) and right before paying our waiter " real racist" took a picture of put my card with my ID in order to pay. We were starving and looking for someplace to eat in Cancun, when we found a place to park our car so figured we would eat nearby and we walked out of the parking spot we saw this place. We walked in an ordered. We were helped by Ismael. Ismael was amazing and even tried to help me find a salsa that wasn't hot at all , which didn't exist. The salsa he brought was too hot and I asked for something else and he brought back something else but it was still hot. I don't like anything hot, but he went over and above trying to create a salsa I could tolerate but my taste buds are babies but my husband loved the salsas he created in an effort to help me. Then the food came and it was all pretty quick, first off the food was amazing!!!! Like seriously we had shrimp, burritos, and a shrimp salad and it was soooooo good! Ok after a few years we can back to this place and what is going on with down town Cancun area that we loved in the past people now are rude and try to get over!! We just went shopping in this area and had issues with a rude as guy selling dresses for my mother in law so I said let goto this place where I know I've been and the food in past was real good !!so all six of us sat down and the guy serving came over and got our drink order!! He looked like he just started that day!! Didn't seem to know what he was doing!! Got drink ordered wrong !! Had to go back!! Only brought on bowl of chips for six of us!! Had to ask for more!! Brouught our tacos plain and usually they bring us stuff to put in them!! Had to ask for it!! Then!!! Only brings one lil bowl with a tiny bit of stuff for eight of the tacos!! Lol really!!! But tried to make the best of it!! After a bit we finally had to ask for our bill and not only did we get our bill but they added there own tip on the bill!! Even though we had to separate bills!! The law in Cancun is they can not put the tip on the bill !! It's a tip!!! So I told the guy did he know this and he said yes!! Lol but I did give him this amount and a Lil but more because I think it was the owner fault more cause he was inside looking out to see if we knew this!! So over all the food was ok !! We just spent a super fun evening with Francisco and Evelyn here tonight (2/26/2021). Honestly some of the best service we have had anywhere and laughs a plenty provided by our gracious hosts. Our group had 2 tequila flamed steaks, the mixed ceviche (white fish, tuna and shrimp.) The flamed steak presentation was followed by the delivery of a Himalayan salt slab with fresh rosemary and butter. Oh my stars!! I'm bummed we are only here overnight otherwise we would go back tomorrow. Food was delicious, service SO beyond kind - upon seeing my wicked sun burn Francisco cut some aloe plant for me and stored them in the freezer until we left. Would absolutely recommend!! read more

I ate at El Granero the week of June 19,2022 and had an absolute ball. The main manager there, Sammy, was amazing. He was a great hype man! One night there was an entire Latin family celebrating an engagement, another night there was a table of Millenials from Tennessee to whom he passed the microphone as we all sang along to hip hop, and the last night I was there he created this amazing tequila cocktail, that was lit on fire, yet was surprisingly cold and sweet to the taste! They also played R&B, reggaeton, and some Top 40. Since I came back a couple of times to this chop house I learned that there is new management, the wait staff are very attentive (thanks Hector and Amoro (sic))! I had a great time, got to hear a variety of music and loved the espresso martini! It was deliciious and the grill master, in a cowboy hat, is an artist!!!! We got to see him grill another patron's steak right in front of him to a perfect medium rare. The patron said it was delicious! We came to Cancun for 7 days through NYE and came across this little bar and grill with the dining area on the sidewalk, and customers doing Karaoke during our nightly crawl. I actually ate here twice in late Feb 2018. Simple lunches both times... guacamole, street tacos, and beer. The servers were having fun with a little dancing and people watching as the sidewalk runs through the place. The things people (don't) wear... it's an epic place to just watch the douche-baggery and debauchery. The music is also obnoxiously loud, as it is at many places in Cancun. This place may have good service but the food sucks. There are too many places to eat at, you're most likely on vacation so why would you have below average food? We ordered some chicken for the kids, then some pancakes... I ordered some Arrachera, the chorizo and queso and my wife ordered some fish. The guy brought the queso, thinking I wouldn't notice that it was missing the chorizo... the pancakes were hard and the fish was old. I'm good... I found this place on the Cheap Eats List and what a bargain it was! It's a small place with great food, 2 for 1 drinks, karaoke and a DJ. Everything was so reasonably priced. We loved this place so much we came twice. The burgers are outstanding, the mojitos and margaritas were sooo good and we enjoyed our tacos on our second night. The guacamole was fresh and even my son was a fan. We loved the atmosphere of this place. There isn't much nightlife going on in Cancun right now, so this is definitely the place to be.
