Skirt steak, bone marrow
Lorraine E.

The staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming the moment we walked in. The steak was so good and cooked in perfection ( juicy and very tender). The meat melted in my mouth! The Cozy atmosphere made it even better. I highly recommend giving this place a try.

I spent my birthday by myself at this nice restaurant. It was around noon so very quiet and customer service was superb! The food was fantastic and the best I have had in Cancun!!! I highly recommend this place for anyone including large parties or family gatherings. Next time I'm in Cancun, I will definitely be coming back!

Location on the water was absolutely beautiful. Servers were friendly and attentive. I had a Margarita that was nicely made. We had the Hamachi and Tuna appetizer. The Hamachi was excellent and the Tuna seemed very dry. We shared a Garlic Shrimp entree. There were 6 to a pound. Several were mushy. Not proper for fine dining. The Concierge had let the restaurant know we were on Anniversary trip. Quite to our surprise they showed up with a wonderful dessert and special drink. They also showed up with sparklers, lighting and outright happiness. It was great!

I liked it. Went in for a nice dinner during my vacation. Inside is very stylish with great views. They also do hookah. I liked the music but it was very loud. The food was good. Loved their chips and salsas. The tacos were good. Really liked the octopus. Cocktails were good with interesting presentation. If you're looking to have a nice dinner out in Cancun this is good choice, bit on the pricey side though. Service was good. Friendly staff. FYI 15% service charge automatically added to bill.

Lobster tail meal

Overpriced with Great Ambiance and Mid Food. Came here and paid $600 on a weekday night for two orders of lobster tail with a few cocktails. The lobster was terrible because it was overcooked, chewy, and had a char flavor from the grill which I'm assuming had to be open fire. The sashimi was good and all the appetizers were tasty. The cocktails were definitely decorative and fun for a trip. The service is good anywhere in Cancun so that's to be expected. Would recommend skipping the main meals, buy apps only, and get two cocktails max... or you're getting scammed. Eat your main meal somewhere else first and continue drinking somewhere else.

Great restaurant for a celebration!! The staff was very attentive, the atmosphere was lively and they fun performances. They had live music, dancing, and gave us sparklers to celebrate a bachelorette. The food and cocktails were pretty good too

Lobster over cooked, very hard to chew!!!

DO NOT COME TO THIS RESTAURANT'!!! I had very bad experience right here. Ordered 3 dishes + 2 beer + bottle of water cost almost 400 dollars! The most important thing is I got diarrhea after dinner!

La Buena Barra is my favorite restaurant. Originally, I made this claim after visiting LBB in MTY. MTY steak is incredible, and I was excited when LBB opened in Cancun - but also a bit worried that it would be a bit touristified/Americanized, but no es verdad. todo bien. With all of the fusion restaurants and concepts in the world, if you had to close your eyes and think to yourself, if i could have any fusion food in the world, what would it be? Obviously the answer is mexican food and a steakhouse. Well, that's Monterrey, and that's La Buena Barra. And I am not going to try and compare the MTY & Cancun locations, but I will say that La Buena Barra will be a memorable part of your trip to Cancun (it hits on all fronts). Also, trust me on this one - eat light if you're going to dinner here because you will want to try as much as possible, and the portions (even apps) are big The highlights (in no particular order) -Decor, both inside and outside but much prefer outside -Service - absolutely incredible. friendly, super attentive without making it stuffy..shout out to Cristian, Peniel, Jese for making my experience a truly memorable one -Food - excellent across the board, but the steak and flavor is something that will standout amongst most high end restaurants -Fun drinks -View -atmosphere, really awesome shift from dinner with DJ & music, lightshow, drinks, and the ability to smoke Of course, I will touch on price. It's pricey and most items are roughly 10-15% higher than MTY, but everything in Cancun is going to be expensive. So, even for US standards it's going to be an expensive evening, and everyone has different opinions on what constitutes value, and I get that. For a full meal, couple drinks, etc - I'd say roughly $100-$150pp, which is similar to what I've experienced in most "nicer" steakhouses in the states. Personally, I think the value for the food/service/experience is well worth it. As for some of my favorite (can't miss) dishes: queso flameado - I feel like this is LBB's Nobu Miso Black Cod, that everyone tries to replicate (especially in Texas). Rib eye & guac - another one that is oft imitated...it's kinda like how youngsters think Ice Ice Baby is an awesome song until they hear Under Pressure. Here is my caveat though: unless you're a party of 3 or more or not ordering steak, you may want to pass on this because at 400grams plus tortillas (side note: both flour and corn tortillas here are amazing, so go with both) is pretty filling Rib Eye - any of their rib eyes are truly incredible steaks Also, this might be the Mexican version of ordering a burger at a steakhouse (but they really do have the best burgers), but two of their tacos in my opinion might change how you see the world forever.. Pirata & Rib Eye taco with cheese crust (photos below). I am going to leave it there and not try to take away your sovereignty - better to experience the Grand Canyon without hearing numerous accounts of what it is, but I do want to thank again Cristian, Peniel, Jese for everything!

The food was great. The sunset view facing the lagoon was beautiful. Our server was great. The ambiance was nice and fun. They have a DJ and they did fire crackers . However the drinks are just okay. I think they put more juice and ice than the liquor.

This place has the level of quality that you can find in any major city that has fine dining. The food is delicious. The side Caesar and ceviche are the best entrees. The ribeye was nothing special. The mashed potatoes give any culinary side dish at any major steakhouse a run for its money. The drinks are well made but no buzz. They are at most gimmicks. The lobster and filet mignon we got was a very well made dish. They bring you out meats and fish for you to choose. They brought out a whole pork but we aren't fans of pork. They made a great dessert for a birthday. The ambiance is dance music and just a very loud atmosphere. The staff were super attentive to us. However, I don't like being watched about how I'm paying or how much I tip. They are like hawks and around the table once the bill comes. They count the tip right in front of you and I had never experienced that in my life. Otherwise it's a great place if you feel like you need to prove a point about your wealth. Plus your stomach will be full. MAYBE

Had dinner with family to celebrate my 50th birthday. Beautiful ocean view. Service was outstanding! My 10 year old daughter loved the children's menu treasure chest. Great presentation. The short rib tacos were delicious. My mother had the volcano tacos which were incredible and also had a great presentation. The staff came out to sing with a tasty birthday cupcake at the end. Very thoughtful and greatly appreciated. Would definitely come back.

I went to Cancun late May 2022. My family wanted to find a place that catered to my vegetarian daughter and my picky young adult men. Let me just say this place Rocked!! Food was amazing, staff were friendly and the most outstanding thing was we even had a show for free. The DJ was bumping and the guy with the fire wheel put on an amazing show. If you are in Cancun or plan to visit this is a must go to. Thank you for making it so memorable ! Will definitely be back again!

BEST DINING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! On vacay with the fam and made a reservation here based on a suggestion from the resort where we had been all week. Had no idea what we were in for when we walked in the door. Oh my. The service. I mean, come on! I've never experienced such amazing service. The whole thing is a big production and everyone plays a part - from the hostesses that look like models to the wait staff to the performers. Everyone is beautiful and there to please. The food. We had the best steaks and sides and finished off with the epic 24-layer chocolate cake and churros. The ambience. I love a good ambience and this one is amazing in every way. It's super chic and hip and it sits right on the water. We got a table with a spectacular view. The only downside was the price but for this occasion we had to go big. I ended up dropping about $450 for five of us. Honestly though, worth it.

Complimentary sauces.

We only had seven nights in Cancun and we chose to return here to eat a second time during this trip. Are lotta good restaurants in Cancun so to get us back there a second night in one vacation, it has to be pretty special. Both nights we had something different and enjoyed all of the dishes Immensely. Don't forget to try the tableside guacamole, prepared by your waiter. Unlike many other Mexican style restaurants in Cancun, or anywhere else, this food is very authentic and the tastes are superb. Don't miss this if you have the opportunity.

I will say, right off the bat, this place is loud if you're hear during peak meal time. While the mariachi band was a nice added touch, it only exacerbated the already loud dining experience. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic meal, this isn't the place for you. But if you're ok speaking up a bit throughout the meal, do not pass on this restaurant. I opted to try things that I wouldn't easily find at a restaurant, even in Los Angeles where I live. That meant I tried an aztec corn soup for my appetizer (it tasted like liquid corn bread and I say that as a compliment) and then for my main I tried a Molcajete Mixto. It was absolutely amazing. The best way I could explain it is a Mexican bibimbap. Each of the 3 types of meats were grilled perfectly, the special cheese was mild, but had a really great texture to it. The bits of cactus were cooked to perfection where they were soft, but with just the right amount of bite to it. I gobbled that dish up so quickly and considered asking if I could have another one. If I wasn't already stuffed I absolutely would have. It was probably the single best dish I had the entire week I was in Cancun. I've now made it my quest to find somewhere near me where I can get something even remotely comparable. I also appreciate that they had 'kid cocktails.' All 3 of my boys felt so adult sipping on their special mocktails. Our wait staff was a tad out of sorts, they would often say they were going to grab something for us (i.e. a high chair) and then completely dissapear. In the case of the high chair we just ended up finding one ourselves. But I think this issue stemmed from them just being so busy and slightly overstaffed. When they were with us, they were nothing short of fantastic. Honestly, if I ever return to Cancun, I will absolutely be returning here. It was that good. It makes getting the all inclusive package worthwhile. I will, however, avoid going on mariachi night.

All-in-all it was worth the inconvenience. Very eclectic menu, warm atmosphere and outstanding service. I started withe the Mango-Tamarind: Lettuce, Indian walnut, mango, blueberries, Cotija cheese, mango-habanero dressing and tamarind billet. Unique and tasty. "Swiss Chicken Enchiladas" for the main course was not what you get at a local Mexican joint -- Four tortillas stuffed with chicken, bathed in a creamy tomatillo sauce with melted cheese and a base of refried black beans. This was a 5-star dish! I couldn't resist ordering a side dish though I didn't need to because the enchiladas were really enough, so I indulged myself with fries: these were not your run of the mill French fries. Porfirio's Potatoes -- French fries with chipotle pepper aioli, parmesan cheese and parsley. Finally, if you like ice cream I highly recommend that you order BOTH offerings: 1) "ICE CREAM TASTING" - Strawberry ice cream, chocolate ice cream from Metate, marzipan ice cream and vanilla from Papantla. Served with grated coconut, chocolate grain, M&M's, Oreo cookies and ice cream cones; and, 2) "PORFIRIO'S MOLECULAR ICE CREAM" - served with cajeta Worcestershire sauce in an ice cream cone. I dream of Marrow everyday. This is a 10/10 Yellow fin Tosatadas - Superb!!! One of the best tostadas I have ever had. The microgreens, the sauce and the square Tostada works well all together. 8.8/10 Salmon - Cooked perfectly. The corn is a great accompaniment. The fish is impeccably seasoned. This dish is heaven sent with a 9.8/10 Grilled Octopus - Grilled perfectly, I can tell by the texture. The mash is superb, they used margarine instead of butter and I absolutely love the contrast from the traditional mash. 9.8/10 Mexican Rice - Its pretty good. It does have a nice seafoodish finish. The pepper was actually spicy. Nice and pleasant rice dish. 8/10 Charred Avocado Salad - Grilled avocado is a bit of a wash. It did make it look good on the plate. The dressing is a little weak. Needs a little more zip, some citrus or vinegar would give this salad some justice. Its a little uninspired 7/10 Service is impeccable and attentive and the atmosphere is lovely.

There is a separate steakhouse on the property that costs extra, but honestly, MB did a great job and even has steak options that made me question whether I'd need to pay extra at all. This is one of the few places where there is actually a dress code. They seemed a little relaxed about enforcing it, but generally you're looking at collared shirts, pants, and closed-toe shoes for men, while women should avoid beachwear and flip-flops. The meal started with fresh bread rolls and what I believe was a strawberry butter, which was surprisingly good. I also tried the habanero cream soup. A lot of people recommended it, both online and around the resort, but for me it was just okay. It had a nice little kick and came in a bread bowl, but it wasn't the standout I expected. My marinated salmon course was good, although it arrived a little cooler than I would have preferred. For the main course, I ordered the stuffed chicken with shrimp, while my girlfriend ordered the veal cheek, and we also split the filet mignon. The stuffed chicken was excellent, but like most restaurants at Live Aqua, the portions were on the smaller side. Thankfully we added the filet mignon, because that ended up being the star of the night. It was fantastic, and if we had stayed longer, I probably would have come back just to order the steak again. For dessert, we tried the brownie with white chocolate, the hibiscus soup, and the lemon pie. The brownie was decent but pretty standard. The desserts were good overall, but the main courses were really what made the meal memorable. Service was good, although it had the same issue we noticed throughout much of the resort. The staff was friendly and attentive enough, but there were stretches where it felt like you were waiting around for someone to check in or refill a drink. One thing I wish they would change is the timing of the live piano music. They have a pianist from 6 to 9, but many of the resort activities and events happen between 7 and 9. We ended up dining around 9, and by then the piano was finished. Since the restaurant stays open much later, it would have been nice to still have that live music and atmosphere during later dinner reservations. Even with a few small complaints, MB delivered one of the best overall dining experiences we had at the resort.
