The best food in Hotel zone! Prices super reasonable. Quality A+, service and ambiance top of the line. We came 3 times, they remembered us and treated us like family. They even have a kids play room that kept our littles entertained and allowed us to relax and not have bored kids asking to leave. The food is fresh, delicious. Everything we tried was out of this world delicious. We did the downstairs twice and for lunch tried the upstairs quick serve (all great). They have lots of seating option areas depending on your needs and wants. Cool vibes, amazing staff! Thank you for treating us like royalty
Everything went well pretty much, except that the service was very slow in taking our orders. But everyone was pretty nice and respectful and we had a great time here with lots of good food. The restaurant was nice. *Expert Tip* If you cannot climb steps, DO NOT come here. But if you can climb, you will be handsomely rewarded! Also, stick to fresh, as their deep-fried, breaded offerings aren't cooked all the way through. We had a few cheladas de Clamato preparado, some chips, a tostada, aguachiles, shrimp tacos, calamari, and ostiones. Mmmmm! It's all a little pricey, but well worth the pleasure. When you are in Cancún, YOU MUST COME HERE if you love seafood. The restaurant is down the steps toward the back and next to the lagoon. Don't be afraid of the iguanas, tho. Muchas grácias!
A random stop walking around the hotels. But now if I ever visit again it's a must stop for us. Downstairs for the 7-11. Right in the water with boats, makes it a great view. Food selection was a lot, pretty sure most can find a dish they would want. Clear English speaking server and very attentive. It was midday on a Tuesday so there was only one other table occupied.
The group of us adored this place! Food: We ordered various seafood tostados, tacos, and ceviches. Everyone LOVED their dishes. Shrimp, fish, octopus was all super tender and perfectly cooked. The salsa recipes and fresh tortilla chips were a bonus. So stinking good! Service: Servers were attentive and prompt. Didn't rush us. We actually sat at the bar prior to our table reservation and the bartenders were friendly and make stellar margaritas - not too strong and not weak. A perfect balance. Ambience: Cozy, vibey inviting outdoor patio space - there are seats on the sand under a large tiki roof, as well as tables on the marina. A mixture of locals and tourists come here. Live music after 7p on the weekend nights we came here. Side Note: you can sit at the bar, but the counter is super high and bar stools are low, so everyone at the bar felt like they were little kids sitting at a high top table. We would 100% come back. Make reservations if you want patio seating. Loved it!
Really wonderful restaurant by the water! Service was excellent, the food was delicious & they had a live band (play on Fridays!). We didn't plan a trip here but it was a great surprise as we came in time to see the sunset and band. We wanted to try the traditional Mayan way to cook fish so we got an 800 gram grouper which comes with salad and plantains. Sharing between 2 people is plenty of food. The margaritas are pretty good (one traditional costs ~$16). Yeah, we know the meal & drinks should be less expensive since we are in Mexico but the atmosphere and band made it all worth it. I would definitely recommend to others. Next time we will have to do the casual (street-side)place upstairs and check out their tacos.
Don't give up on Fish Fritanga because you have to go down a hallway and then down some stairs. The place is near the water. The food and ambiance were exceptional! We made sure to dine around sunset to see over the bay. The service was almost too fast. Francisco was wonderful. Helpful and gave great recommendations. The food was so fresh and very warm. Have your hotel make a reservation if you want to sit right near the water. Drinks were great. I got the fish tacos and the 2 tacos were the perfect size for dinner with chips and salsa. It is open air so dress for the heat or weather.
This place is so good. We had such a great time & the waiters were top notch. They were not trying to upsell anything & we're not pushy at all. Very clean place with a medium noise level. Definitely family friendly. The food was so fresh & the portions and price were very fair. We will be back next time.
Ever watch a show that a restaurant was featured and decide to go check them out? This was that, as I saw where Guy had visited and since I was headed there I decided to add them to the list of places to visit. When we arrived, it was early and the place was rather empty. We were told we could sit anywhere we liked. We ordered drinks - I got the passion fruit water, my friend got a margarita (she had to send back as she said she couldn't taste anything, the remake she said was better) - and we ordered appetizers - she got tostanes and I got the calamari that the waiter highly recommended. We also got some chips and various salsas to start with. Food wise, everything was good but the calamari. It breaded and the calamari itself was very rubbery. This goes on the list of the worst calamari I've ever had. The waiter saw we wasn't eating it and asked if we wanted to box it to go to which we both said no. The shrimp tacos were good, my friend enjoyed her spicy fish & they brought out a complimentary coconut flan as it was Mothers Day. Overall a nice meal that needs a few tweets but one of the better meals I had while in Mexico.

Awesome. Nothing new for Cancún eats on Hotels Kukulcán Blvd. Totally dug the wide variety of fresh selections sitting at this gorgeous beachfront locale. From varying tortas, quesadillas, & burritos; to seafood risotto's & shiny tuna steaks.. (get the Camarones à la Mexicana). (Needs to get the Octopus off menu; cmon.) Check out the outdoor cabana-style comfortable seating area next to the joyful boat dock. Service is quick, efficient, extremely friendly, and informed.. as expected ;) read more

My family and I were NOT enjoying the food at our resort, so after two days of hoping it would get better, it was time to venture off the resort. El Fish popped up as a nice spot by the water to have dinner. When we arrived, it looked like just a taqueria stand out front, lol (my mom was very concerned) . But once we realized you have to walk down the little hall toward the water and saw the stairs and lights, we knew it was bound to be a lot better than the resort! Our server, Roger, was quite friendly, as was the rest of the staff. The drinks were tasty and food we tried was all pretty good. We had the oysters on the half shell that came with a delicious black mignonette, the soft shell crab tacos, tuna sashimi, and the calamari rings as appetizers. All were quite good with the exception of the calamari rings that had a bit of a heavy batter that tasted more like a beer batter than a tempura as described. I did enjoy my grilled octopus. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but enjoyable nonetheless. My stepdad and goddaughter both had the seafood stuffed mahi mahi which they both said they enjoyed, and my mom had the Caribbean mahi mahi (I think). It had a coconut cream sauce and other seafood on top, octopus and shrimp. For dessert, we had the 8 layered chocolate cake, which was amazing and not too sweet. We also got the key lime pie, which I'm sure some people like the style they have, but it wasn't a favorite of ours. Overall, it was a good experience. The restaurant is lovely, the staff friendly, and the food was good. Our bill was around $400 for 4 people. It didn't quite feel like a $400 meal, but it was much better than the resort food that we paid $130/day to eat. read more

Quick walk away from my hotel and nice location on the water. Food was decent, wish they cooked the pulpo a little bit more so that it had charred skin. The habanero salsa was very tasty. Pricing fair for the area. read more

We had an amazing meal, beautiful view, and the best service. It was so much better than I expected. We felt like family and they helped us celebrate a birthday too. We had the best time watching the sunset in our and then they brought out an amuse bouche at the end that was so fun! read more

We visited this restaurant twice during our week stay in Cancun. We went at lunch time and it was very laid back and a perfect spot to beat the heat while also seeing the water. Their passion fruit margarita was so good. I really enjoyed the shrimp tacos, which my partner really loved the famous governor tacos. One of my favorite items was the pineapple crème brûlée served in a pineapple. It's a dessert we never knew we needed! Highly recommend trying it. read more

This place is one of cancuns hidden gems. Down the stairs to one of the best meals you will eat in Cancun. Service is quick and food is outstanding one of my favorite places to go while here. Leave the resort for lunch or dinner you will not be disappointed I promise. read more

This was our first restaurant in Cancun. I enjoyed spicy fish that came with rice and fried plantains. I also ordered tostones and a passion fruit margarita. The fish was spiced perfectly and the rice and plantains really complemented it perfectly. The tostones were fried perfectly and were actually sweet and savory- perfect combination! Initially, I tasted no alcohol in my margarita and the server took it back and had more added. It improved but it was underwhelming. A complementary dessert ( coconut flan) was provided in honor of Mother'sDay. I'd highly recommend this restaurant for the food, service and great music. read more

Beautiful lagoon side view. Short walk from La Isla or Hospital Joya bus stops. Walk past the street facing store front, towards the back and downstairs to get to the main restaurant. Largest well priced cocktails we saw at restaurants (under 200 pesos). Complimentary spread of salsa, pico, habanero, tamarind with basket of totopos. Service was very fast and attentive and they made an effort to check for any resort/hotel discount that could be applied, even though we did not make a reservation through our resort. Solid food and fair prices. Grilled octopus was a little soggy/mushy on the outside, despite being served in the skillet in was presumably cooked in. Tuna tostadas were very satisfying. Some extra noise from neighboring bar, but not too distracting overall. Highly recommend! read more

Cannot miss this popular Yelp place in Cancun so made a reservation at 7:30 pm. Got there at 7:15, quickly valet parking and walked down the step to see a beautiful sunset over the lagoon. Seated promptly in front of the live music. Started off with the pescadillas and ceviche pulpo with tecate and daiquiri to cool off the temperature. Service is efficient since the room is not filled yet. Explored the menu and ordered the tacos famoso governor, camarones Al coco, filete a La Veracruz, and pescado frito. Waiter showed the big grouper 1.1 kg and small cod 600 gr. Want the grouper but had to go with the small cod. I think we went too much in the fried side. The governor tacos are fried tacos with lots of cheese inside. That is overpowering the taste. A letdown. Not recommended. The coconut shrimps are good and nicely decorated. Again, portion is big. The veracruzana style fish is good balance with tomato sauce. The fried cod fish is crispy with many bone but i enjoy the debone process . Fried plantain is good but salad side is sub standard. Price and view are above average. Live music on Friday and Saturday is Bonus. Plate setting is nice but no cloth napkins or wet wipes after the messing fried food. Would have been above average if those are included. Very good experience. read more

El fish fritanga We dined at this place which was in the hotel zone. Everything is outside seating with a nice view of the water. We ordered the guacamole, elle octopus, the fried fish, the governor tacos, and the special for the day- Marlin tacos. The restaurant provides complimentary chips and salsa, which tasted very fresh! We ate all of this food shared between 3 adults and we still had some leftover. Our favorite was the fried fish, which came with a great onion and pepper dipping sauce. The fish was very crispy and we were able to pick between two catches of the day- grouper or snapper. The octopus was super tender and grilled well. The tacos were both very good- tasting very fresh. Overall it was a yummy meal. We were there celebrating my daughter's Birthday and they brought a complimentary slice of cake and even played birthday music! . It's another contemporary decorated restaurant in the hotel zone and we had a wonderful evening here Service was very good , drinks and cocktails were also great Here's everything we had : Appetizers : 1) 10 fresh oysters - we loved it ! Very good and fresh , what else do you need out of oysters . 4.2/5 2) quinoa salad - was pretty good , spinach was fresh and plentiful and the goat cheese was yummy . 4/5 3) marlen fish ceviche -came with little toasted bread and was an excellent dish . The fish was very flavourful . 4.3/5 Main dishes : 1) me and my wife shared a 700gr fresh grouper that was outstanding . Grouper is such an amazing fish that all it needed was just a god fry. The portion was perfect for two to share. 4.7/5 2) Alfredo with salmon was also very good and in a generous portion. . The salmon pieces were perfectly cooked . 4/5 3) coconut shrimp were very good - large , fresh and the coconut coating was not too sweet . 4.3/5 French fries were standard and they also give a nice kit of dips with the free nachos they bring to the table at the start of the meal read more

Service was beyond good, like you drop a napkin and they pick it up, friendly but it doesn't feel genuine. The place is nice, you sit downstairs, which has a lagoon view, tables are on the sand under a big cabana. I ordered the ceviche and they price it based on the fish weight, it was great at first but then it became too salty to finish. The tortilla chips were stale which was disappointing. The margarita was just ok. My ceviche and marg was about $60 usd. I would not return. read more

El Fish Fritanga is a brilliant seafood restaurant located in the heart of Zona Hotelera. As with everything in Zona Hotelera expect to pay top dollar... $$$$. The one thing that sets El Fish Fritanga apart is the quality of food. If you look at the prices nobody would blame you for thinking Tourist Trap! The food here is brilliant! The main restaurant is downstairs past the small Taqueria. The main restaurant is a proper dine in venue and has a full menu, while the Taqueria upstairs serves mostly Tacos and has a very limited menu. The food is just as good in both places. The drinks here are amazing! We first ate at the Taqueria upstairs which is on the main street. You can order all kinds of drinks at the Tqueria as well, if it's not listed on the menu here the staff has the drinks made at the bar downstairs and bought up. LA TAQUERIA: ~ Ceviche - 5/5 The ceviche was literally like a meal. We weren't expecting it to be that big. It was by far the best one we had on the; Very well balanced, Good flavor, Not too citrusy with generous amounts of seafood. ~ TACOS: PULPO ENCEBOLLADO - 5/5 Probably some of the best Octopus Tacos I had. Grilled to perfection with a decent amount of Octopus in it. ~ TACOS: CARNE ASADA - 4.5/5 Your standard Carne Asada tacos. these were delicious! Nothing to complain about... Even the chips and salts are amazing! The Salsa had a nice kick to it, without being overly spicy. If you want some ocean views and a nice ambiance make sure to dine at the main restaurant downstairs. They also have live music in the evenings as well. #adulting: ~ Piña Colada - 5/5 Best, Piña Colada I had so far in my life I think...actually I'm positive! Well balanced, not too sweet, refreshing; Fruity, Silky and Smooth! Brilliant! #Seafood: ~ TACOS: Soft shell Crab - 3.5/5 This was interesting... For some reason the Soft Shell Crab just doesn't work as a Taco for me. It had a bit too much going on... ~ Elé octopus: 3.5/5 The grilled octopus was good, but I had better elsewhere. Grilled with Paprika for that smokey and spicy flavor. I like this place, great spot to enjoy a meal without traveling too far. read more

Great location and atmosphere for sure. Margaritas was fire!! They use the good stuff! One and you are done! We had the whole fried fish, Alfredo, breaded shrimp, grilled chicken, calamari. Nothing was great, everything was just okay . We ate, but mostly enjoyed the music, water, and atmosphere. Great place to talk while enjoying dinner. Oh, and the desserts were not great either. The key lime was horrible, but the chocolate lava cake was okay. Service was ok. There are lots of servers around, but I always feel weird making requests from other servers. I prefer the one assigned to my table. He was not attentive. I wouldn't go back, but this place has awesome reviews! I think it's the vibe. read more

We were staying at an all inclusive in the hotel district and by day 3 we were over the food selections so we ventured out and found this gem (thanks to Tiktok). We loved it so much we dined here the last 2 nights of our trip! When you pull up to the place it looks very unassuming (we thought we were in the wrong place) but once you descend down the staircase you step into a tropical oasis with one of the best sunsets in Cancun. The service, cocktails, ambience, music, and food were a 10 out of 10!! The staff were super attentive and accommodating. All recommendations made were delicious. We got the ceviche, fried whole snapper, Plantains, grilled fish, calamari, onion rings, and salad. All were tasty and cooked well. The portion sizes are huge and you definitely get your money's worth. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to return. I think about that snapper atleast once a week.... so good!!! read more

Hotel recommendations- walkable from the Westin Food and atmosphere was great. The tacos were really good. Definitely casual. You can order take out/ street seating upstairs or walk downstairs to dine in seating. Prices are similar to US. We had clam chowder, 4 tacos, 1 margarita, and dessert and it was $59 us. read more
Salmon Pasta Alfredo: 6/10 Passionfruit Margarita: 10/10 Stopped by this spot when we first landed in Cancun. We caught the band setting up and enjoyed their live performance. They were so much fun & interactive especially if you were receptive to them! The drinks were my favorite part of my experience. Highly recommend trying the passionfruit margarita!! The salmon pasta however was disappointing. Not terrible but missing some sort of seasoning and extra push to get it where it needed to be. Overall, this restaurant sits on near the water and has a fun vibe. I would come back merely for drinks & a fun time! read more
High ratings simply because of the amazing atmosphere. First day in Cancun and we wanted something light and near the hotel zone for dinner and we landed here. We came when they were just setting up their live band. Band was interactive and definitely catered to the crowd. Pro tip: come with a fun group of people! Drinks were amazing! I ordered the Miami Vice y Pina Colada which was basically strawberry and pina colada mixed. When you check in you also can get a free drink of the month . Salmon pasta wasn't my favorite but the vibes and great service made up for this. Definitely could see myself hitting here for drinks again read more

Good service and attentive. Food tasty except for the ceviche mixto.. needed more marinating/lime juice. Other than that we liked everything else and enjoyed some nba finals. Lots of fans to help beat the heat. Cool kids room for them to play safely. Good vibe and feel to it. read more

Not going to lie, I felt this place was a little overrated. With that being said, I gave a 4 star because it was still an enjoyable meal with a pleasant beach-side atmosphere. The Tostada with fresh Ponzu Tuna was exceptional. Loved the amount they give you! What knocked my rating down a bit was the shrimp tacos. I got the "governor style" which was the most expensive style and it was very mushy. The green peppers in the tacos did not compliment it at all. I thought since I am in the Motherland, they should be blowing my mind with this style, but unfortunately, I was disappointed. Don't get the governor style taco and stick with the fried shrimp option. Tostada was fire so definitely get that one!! read more

MUST VISIT... The food & drinks are outstanding! Been coming here for years & they never disappoint... The lagoon front location & sandy beach floor provides an ambiance that coincides perfectly with "vacation mode".... And, the servers are very friendly & attentive. Pro-Tip: Order your "mojito de vacaciones" upon arrival (vacation mojito).. Best in town.. Note: The grilled seafood platter is a wonderful treat for 3-4 people read more
