Ok i have been to this place maybe 4 times and its always the same , they get the orders wrong and it takes 30-35 minutes to get your food .And although they have 10-12 waiters when you need a beer forget it !!! Ive been to many mexican seafood resturaunts through out oxnard and decided to give this a try. Went on a friday at 12pm and it was empty. No other customers there for lunch. Thats a big sign. Went to order a ice tea and they said they dont have ice tea. As I searched through menu, not one word or description was in english. Even in the smallest hole in the wall mexican Restaurants have atleast description of meal in english. They have sushi rolls, tacos but couldnt tell you what kind. And even my friends who speak Spanish couldnt understand their wording. Anyways, went with tacos as I could only point to a picture of what I wanted. Doesnt get any more basic then tacos, rice and beans but the meat was fatty and the 1/4 cup of rice they served was cold not even room temp. All while picking at my food there is the overwhelming smell of fish being cooked. U dont even smell that in sushi bars! If the fish is fresh, their shouldnt be a smell. 1 star for nice waiter just doing his job. Gave it a shot but wont return. read more

STAY AWAY The food isn't any good, they lag on orders, and the music they play makes you feel like your in a drug lords home. The meat and shrimp felt like you were chewing gum that tasted like fish, eww. The service wasn't all bad, the waiter was nice but it's still a problem when he forgets your appetizer and brings it at the very end of your meal half cooked. I went on mother's day and we were there early so it wasn't packed at all yet. So my review can't be chalked up to it was busy. I was there with my family and I know half of my party did not finish eating their food because it was horrible. I was there with my young children and they aren't very keen on fish yet so I ordered them a sorta kids samplers plate, it had chicken nuggets mozzarella sticks and a quesadilla all literary were room temperature. Not even warm. I sent it back and they just reheated it and food came back hard. Once I got my food, I order camarones all mojo de ajo (like someone else mentioned) the shrimp still had the poop vein but I'll give them at least my food was warm. Not hot just warm. Rice had no flavor and i didn't eat much off the plate. The waitress even had the nerve to ask me if I didn't like. I replied no. She questioned me why. The tired group they call a marachi was the best part of the whole experience. Definitely not for there amazing performance but because one of them members had holes in his pants and we got a good laugh out of that. They even charged $10 a song when I've been to several locations that marachi is included but of course we tip if they play something we request. This place has great food but the service sucks it's a long wait and servers are no where to be found. I only ordered 2 dishes and it was a total of 45+ minute wait. Excuse was because they had a "big party", It's only right if we all have the same service. I'm giving one star because in the past is was great BUT today while me and my husband wanted to enjoy some lunch I noticed a cockroach next to me then crawled to the wall I notified the manager and all he said was oh we fumigate. Seriously WOW! I won't be going there again!! If you feel a crunch on your food you are eating make sure it's not a cockroach that you are eating. read more

The food here according to our party was all great! If you're looking for good food this is a good option. HOWEVER, if you like to be waited on and expect any sort of service go somewhere else. Our table we were seat at was pretty dirty, our waitresses never checked on us, ever. If we wanted anything we had to flag them down. They didn't see if our food was any good or anything. It almost felt like buffet style where they were there to bus the table but barely even cleared anything off the tables. The last time our friend went there he got nasty food poisoning. Wow! I'm so glad to finally experience an authentic Mexican, mariscos restaurant in Oxnard. This is one of the very few restaurants in the US that most closely resembles the Mexican, mariscos restaurant experience. At first, the music seemed loud only because I was too wined up; but once I relaxed with a good michelada, the volume was perfect. Good food, good portions, everyone was helpful even the staff that was not our server. I ordered a small shrimp cocktail, so glad they have an option to have it warm because I was cold; husband ordered 3 side tacos that were massive and inexpensive, and I got my son the little sampler I don't remember what it was called. Oh! One thing was that the cheese sticks had no cheese in them. The smell of the restaurant was so off-putting though. Was very disappointed with this place. The hostess was the waitress and bar tender very poor service. I ordered a plate of beans for my baby niece and the beans were so sour(bad) I told the waitress and she just took them away and still was charged for them. The fries were hard said my wife i didnt want to try them. The service was really bad. I had heard about this new restaurant and was excited to try it. My husband I went Sunday night around 6:30 p.m. The hostess was friendly and seated us in a booth. The music was SO loud! I had to order our beers by pointing to the picture on the menu because it was so loud the waitress couldn't hear me. Our beers arrived and it would have been nice to speak with my husband as we ended our weekend, wasn't possible with the music being so loud. I looked around and noticed the people at other tables weren't talking either, because you couldn't. We tried to give it a chance and ordered dinner by pointing to the items on the menu. First time here and I ordered shrimp very spicy plate can't recall the name. I started to peel the shrimp but was told by staff to eat shell as well. Made big difference in taste. I had a hard time eating she'll but could suck flavor then peel. I thought this was a very nice stop for me. The food was great.
