I stopped in after getting gas at Sam's Club to grab a bagel for my drive home back to St. Louis. The store only had one customer in the dining area and I was the only person at the counter to order, but the drive-through seemed to be busy. I ordered an onion bagel with lox and cream cheese and it also comes with a thick slice of tomato and some capers and red onion. I asked for it open faced. When I got to the car and opened it I noticed that the cream cheese layer was so thin that I could see the bagel through it. I went back in and asked if they could add more cream cheese and said I would be happy to pay for it if needed. I also mentioned that in St. Louis they give you a thick layer of cream cheese but maybe they just do it differently here? The guy didn't answer me but said he could give me a side of cream cheese and I asked for another little container for the other side which he handed to me with an eye roll. LoL! I had to disassemble the bagel myself and add the extra cream cheese and then it was perfect. I also thought they were skimpy on the lox since it was only one slice per bagel. They didn't ask me if I wanted my bagel toasted and I totally forgot but I would've preferred it toasted. I like Einstein's bagels though on the whole. read more

I love this chain and this specific store was great. Kinda hard to hear the speaker because of static but the lady was funny and in a great mood; awesome customer service. An excellent place to get a bagel, bakery item, and drink. The service and staff are always friendly. Just be warned, you'll have to sit outside in the rain, heat, cold, or your car. This Einstein is corporate run. They still do not have their indoor dining area open as of June 17. As far as I know, this might be the only location in Springfield, Missouri with no indoor dining yet. read more

Saw the commercial for the Texas brisket egg sandwich and had to go try it out, totally disappointed with it, brisket was shredded and dry as heck, egg was rubbery, jalapeño bacon bacon bagel was skimp to say the least. Also got a bagelrito which was just as bad, took several doughy bites to get to a Minuscule amounts of unrecognizable filling. Hash brown was a joke, when you unwrap it it's all stuck to the wrapper totally pulled apart. This was during breakfast time and their coffee was lukewarm as well. On plus side restaurant was clean and service was good. If I'd dined in I would have complained. It's just disappointing driving out of my way to get something advertised as amazing and to get home excited and it's subpar. read more

We got one egg instead of two, assuming the quantity of brisket displayed in the advertising would be provided. This was definitely not the case. I keep going to this location because I think it will redeem itself. I have been wrong every time. It seems like they are out of every bagel excluding plain, and it is seemingly normal to the staff. I always ask for the same bagel: chocolate chip and they are always out no matter what time of day. The single time I have gone and they weren't out of my preferred bagel, I ordered half a dozen. They were burnt. The employees themselves are fine, nothing extraordinary, but the bagels are subpar. If I'm paying five dollars for a bagel I would like something halfway decent. I have been meaning to try this place since I moved to Springfield and honestly, now I'm glad to know I wasn't really missing out. I got the green chile club, sans lettuce and onion, and the bagel was definitely awesome. Perfectly toasted, nice and spicy, chewy like it should be, and warm. The lunch meat is what got me. They put subway/bargain brand quality lunch meat on this beautiful bagel and I was shocked. I would definitely buy a box of bagels from them, but I will never again waste $8 and change on one of their sandwiches. Buy the bagels and make your own sandwiches at home with decent lunch meat. I almost always enjoy my breakfast here. I like to get the salmon lox on everything bagel or a spinach florentine bagel with veggie spread; good stuff. The bagels always taste fresh and the staff is always friendly. In my opinion, the smoothies are too sweet. I am pretty sure they add extra sugar to them. They have a nice selection of flavored coffee drinks that can be served hot or cold. Great place for breakfast or a light lunch. read more

I would have to say the service at this location has gone down considerably in the recent months. We had gone there a few weeks ago on a Saturday morning and it took forever to get our food, then they didn't even get our order correct. This morning I took my daughter to get a bagel and iced coffee on the way to school. She went inside because the drive thru line was crazy long- she was inside for over 10 minutes. For a bagel and coffee. Totally ridiculous. I don't get why the service is so slow- there are always numerous employees milling around. I had a bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel and it was great! The guy who took my order was very polite and friendly, and the sandwich was served within 10 minutes. My wife took me there for a Father's Day breakfast. I usually go there for lunch and have a Tasty Turkey, which is turkey slices on a bagel with onion and chives cream cheese, and spinach and cucumber. Every Monday, my wife and I buy a baker's dozen bagels for $6, and then we freeze them and have them throughout the week. These are real bagels, like the kind you can buy in New York, not the Lender's or Thomas' bagels which are nothing like a real bagel. The prices are a little high, but the food and service is great. read more

I've never been to an Einstein Bros before, but when we passed this place my guy was full of OMGs and YUMs so instead of hitting the hotel's complimentary breakfast we went here instead. Super selection of bagels, and they all looked amazing. Decent selection of cream cheese spreads (they have some weird name for them that I can't recall at the moment) and other toppings, although I was a little surprised that there weren't more of these for some reason. Odd, since I have absolutely zero in the way of comparison, but there it is nonetheless. There were also thin bagels, a ton of different bagel sandwiches, and all sorts of other stuff you could order... but I was definitely not ready to branch out in that regard. The decision of Bagel + Cream Cheese =All I Can Handle Right Now. In a fit of indecision, I actually asked the guy at the counted if he recommended the good grains bagel or the everything one (I NEVER do this, I told you I was under duress!). He said the Good Grains was really good (plus it was wheat, so it felt like it might be slightly less awful for me)... and it also had some pumpkin seeds and other really cool looking seeds on there too so I was sold. It just looked fun and interesting, and of course half of my food choices are never based on anything remotely resembling rationale. They have some of the spreads in tubs there at the counter that you can purchase and take home with you, which I really liked because I could give a quick glance at the ingredients and make a more informed decision. Garden Veggie for the win! The kiddo picked out a poppy seed bagel, almost certainly using my it-looks-cool methodology (the apple doesn't fall far from the tree) and I decided the honey and almond spread would be great with it (no, he doesn't get to decide everything). We both got them toasted (he didn't get to have an opinion on this part either). The guy had some lox something-or-other... retention of detail not so great on this visit but you'll see why in a moment. There was a nice little selection of juices and milk and other drinks (plus coffee, of course) there at the counter plus a big fountain drink thingy as well. It looked like there was a decent variety of coffee to be had as well, but I don't drink the stuff so I didn't pay much attention to it. Our bagels came out quickly and they were delicious. Mine had just the right amount of cream cheese spread on there (too much is just gross, you know?), was perfectly toasted, and was the perfect size to be filling but not make me clutch my stomach in agony as I was rolling outta there. Which, I know, it's just a bagel. But sometimes that kind of stuff can really blow up in your belly, you know? I had a quick taste (or two, ahem) of the kiddo's and it was quite tasty as well. Would have been too much sweet for me to handle in the morning and as a meal, but a few bites were a-ok. He only managed to eat about half. The bagels definitely aren't those tiny Lender's ones you get in the freezer section! The staff was great. Counter guy was super friendly and dealt with my ridiculous indecision likeit didn't even bother him., and seemed super friendly and helpful to everyone that came in afterwards. Including (and this is 90% of why I'm even writing this review) the BATSH*T CRAZY lady that came in as we were eating and I Swear To You actually SCREAMED and did this bizarre jumpy-thing while walking in, because her "foot hurt." And did it at least a few more times as she was in there. Everyone in the place had the "what the...?" look on their faces (including us) but the staff didn't miss a beat and were just as friendly and helpful and sweet to her as they were to everyone else. Kudos to every single one of them for being A Bigger Man Than I. Okay, okay. Woman. You KNOW what I mean, though, gah! *laughing* The bagels are yummy but the staff here? Fast and friendly service. Good food and drinks. Have not tried their coffee. See tea notes below. I visit during their slow times (mid-morning or mid-afternoon), so can't comment on service during rush. They have decent WIFI and outlets near tables with a nice south view. Great place to visit for an hour or two when I want to get out of the office! Minus 1/2 star for not having "normal" teas (e.g. freshly brewed sweet tea and unsweet tea). I am a huge fan of freshly brewed unsweet tea! This location does NOT have unsweet tea (or they hide it behind the counter?). I am starting to enjoy their freshly brewed Green Tea and their Black Tea though. Minus 1/2 star for location/directions. Very visible from the main road. I would have tried this location sooner, but not real obvious how to get there. You have to drive through the Andy's parking lot. They would probably get more traffic if they put up a large sign at the parking lot entrance. read more

My daughter and I stopped in as I wanted some Sesame Bagles. In the case there was a fly sitting on a cookie and when i said something they merely took their hand and shooed it and it went to another bagel and landed.l In the time we were there that fly was still in the case moving from bagel to bagel. Im a fan of the new york bagel. if you like them you wont like these. The everything bagel has rye seed in them, try eating smoked salmon with rye seed. The plain bagels are loaded with bubbles, they fall apart when cutting them. The bottom is coated with corn meal. If this sounds good to you go for it. read more
