Served with two sunny side up eggs. You can order the eggs anyway you like. This was so huge. I ate half of one smothered biscuit and gave my dad the rest for leftovers. It was really tasty but so filling! My dad always gets their chorizo breakfast tacos and he likes them a lot because the chorizo is not greasy. His pro tip is to ask for the chipotle mayo on the side so you can control how much is put on your tacos - they sometimes add too much. They also have basic such as eggs Benedict and pancakes and waffles. My breakfast came with a side dish so I opted for a stack of hotcakes and they were very good. They had a nice vanilla flavor. I normally don't get pancakes, but I really wanted to give them a try since my dad loves them so much. They served them with margarine, but I asked for real butter and they were happy to oblige. They also have some interesting pancakes flavors like pineapple upside down pancakes and very berry pancakes that looked really delicious. Our waitress provided excellent service, but we were kind of annoyed that two other waitresses carried on a conversation for about 20 minutes from across the room. They were literally on opposite sides of the room and carrying on a conversation over the patrons and it was very distracting. Jimmy's egg is a very typical dinner that you would expect in the Midwest. I know lots of other states outside of the Midwest aren't use to these kinds of places, but where I'm from they are everywhere. A place with that "dinner feel" good portion sizes, and at a decent price. The only big difference between Jimmy's and an average small dinner spot is the coffee. So I've been here three times now and it's been hit or miss. First time I had the Queso Blanco burrito and it wasn't my jam at all. They also have a great rewards system that will give frequent rewards to offset the cost of breakfast. Mine was $3.20 today for hash browns, eggs, and coffee. Some places are charging $2.99 just for coffee. And, I get to visit with many of my neighbors. Jimmy's Egg opens at 6 am each day to accommodate those that need to get to work by 8 am. So glad to see this new breakfast place close to my father in laws home . Bright cheery and clean when you walk in we went to the counter to eat. The menu has a variety of items and my husband ordered the corn beef hash and I had the 2 egg special with sausage and pancakes . The coffee is poured frequently and it was steaming hot! The meals arrived and they were good! The hash got my husbands approval and the sausage was a bit spicy and went perfectly with the fluffy pancakes and eggs . Went there once. My wife had undergone stomach surgery recently and was required to eat soft foods, including scrambled eggs. We ordered her one scrambled egg, and then the server told us that they wouldn't honor her medical diet certificate, and charged her almost $7 for a full adult meal....for one scrambled egg. This is to update the review I wrote over 6 years ago. We felt adventurous this morning so we decided to go back and try them again. We should have re-read our initial review. The restaurant is a bright and friendly looking place. There was one waitress taking care of the whole place and she did a good job getting everyone's orders and coffee refills. Their biggest problem for me continues to be the food. Half of my plate was filled with so called seasoned potatoes that were cooked way beyond being done. The biscuit and gravy omelette wasn't bad--just not what I was picturing. The awful potatoes came with a second side of sausage patties. These were cooked way too much also. My plate was the best. My husband got a skillet meal with scrambled eggs, ham, and sausage under a biscuit with gravy. The dish was very off-putting and hardly edible. Scrambled eggs were completely unrecognizable. After we got home he got sick to his stomach and it was several hours before he felt good again. We really won't go back there again. read more

Finally made it on over to Jimmy's egg this morning for a late breakfast with the family. The four of us were seated pretty quickly considering how busy they were. It took about 10 minutes to get a booth. I was impressed with their menu. I will post pictures soon. I ordered the basics. 3 eggs sunny side up, hash browns, 2 sausage patties and toast. I know there are some mixed reviews but I thought the food was fantastic and it was all delivered very quickly less than 15 minutes. I tried the biscuit and gravy also my daughter ordered the gravy is really good my wife ordered a Denver omelette that i also thought was delicious. My daughter's boyfriend really didn't like his food but he's picky and he doesn't count anyway, ha ha! The service was fantastic or server returned several times to ensure our coffee and drinks were full & see if we needed anything. Prices are very reasonable. Our bill for four of us was $46 And that's with the boyfriend drinking two milks which is always expensive. Lol I went to the bathroom just to check and see if it was clean and to my surprise as busy as they were it was. They have a ton of choices ranging from a traditional breakfast options to some breakfast burrito options, which is awesome. I liked that they had lots of sides to pick from, which included mini-pancakes and grits. I like grits for breakfast but was a little saddened that their hot sauce options did not include Louisiana Hot Sauce (most restaurants don't in the Midwest but a girl can dream right?). My husband really liked his breakfast and I thought mine was okay. The mini-pancakes were not as good as I wanted them to be. They were more chewy than fluffy which is just meh for me. Our service was fast and friendly but you could tell that this place gets slammed regularly with a ton of people. I would like to go back and try some other things on the menu but we are regulars at a couple other local breakfast joints so it may be awhile before we get back to Jimmy's Egg. read more

I can say being today was Father's Day service was good. We only waited about 15 minutes to be seated which wasn't bad. They made sure we had plenty of coffee and checked on us a lot. My issue was they put all my food on one plate. Gravy, 2 biscuits, 4 toast, 4 bacon, on the same plate. The gravy was barely warm. Being they put it on one plate there was no place to put the gravy on the biscuits without it being on everything. I tore my napkin in half to place my toast on. Not one time did anyone ask if they could bring me a plate for the toast. All they did was bring more napkins.
