Second time here and just not impressed. Staff is friendly but the food is just so-so. Had a sausage egg and cheese on Asiago bagel and it ranked right up there with a McDonald's egg Mcmuffin but 3 times the price. All premade or so it tasted. Nothing to write home about. Coffee selection is okay with a serve yourself coffee bar. I've choices with one flavor coming in regular or decaf. Coffee bar was not clean and there was evidence of bagel shrapnel on tables. If you really look you can tell this location needs a deep cleaning. So it's 2:20. There signage clearly states that they close at 3. I can see employees in there. One even made eye contact as they shut the blinds in my face. Sure, they may be closing early today for some unknown, unposted reason, but even a small amount of customer service could have answered that question. So I call to confirm and no one answers. Wonderful location with ample parking. Bagel sandwiches are fantastic and the coffee is just as strong as you need it to be. There are plenty of comfy seats to lounge and regular table tops. Its everything Starbucks is but much more. Employees are always friendly and very quick to fill orders. With so many bagel options you cannot go wrong with their smear and bagel flavor combinations. There is an Einstein Bros at my college (Odu, in the Perry Library) and it is extremely popular. The lines are always long, which made me avoid the place. Not because it was bad, but because it's popularity at my school it was way too busy to even try to order anything there. The two times I did though, I enjoyed it. I was surprised and thought it was random that an Einstein Bros was opening in Greenbrier, so I thought I would give this location a try! I went with my mom this morning. I ordered a classic egg cheddar and bacon on sesame bagel, and a iced mocha coffee. My mom got the same thing, but just a regular coffee. We both liked it a lot, I just wish they used real eggs. Not sure why this place gets bad reviews!! My everything bagel was delicious and my entire order was fresh. I don't expect people to love working food service every time I encounter a different place, but at least they are doing their job and not treating me like nothing, they at least act like they want to be here. The potato salad was great just tasted like a little too much mayo or vinegar (not sure what the recipe is) -and my mocha was also pretty good. I was happy to see FRESH avocado on my sandwich most places serve it when it is going brown! And my boyfriend finished his bagels no problem and also enjoyed his meal! Coffee was gross, bagel was delish! I tried the spinach bagel which was so soft and fresh. Probably the best bagel I have ever had! Coffee on the other hand tasted burnt. Today i stopped by with my family to have lunch. I ordered a turkey b.a.t. bagel to go. Once I got in my vehicle I opened my sandwich to find that the bagel was burned with 80%of it being black and one slice of turkey. I went back in and showed the employee JORDAN how it was burnt and that there was one slice of turkey on it. He looked at me puzzled and instead of apologizing said that's what the oven does. I got upset! As he was not going to offer to fix it. So I asked him if he would eat it himself and would he be happy spending his hard earned money on the bagel he presented me. So he finally asked if i wanted my money back or should he make a new one. I requested a new one and the lovely girl who corrected the issue made a very presentable bagel NOT burned. Jordan needs some serious training! I was very unhappy with this visit as apparently the oven burns stuff and it's normal to send products out like that. Although my issue was corrected I will probably not be back to this location as Jordan's unprofessionalism was offputting and his bagel making skills seriously lack along with his customer service skills. read more

Truth be told, this was probably one of the best bagels I've had ever. It was perfectly made it was crunchy and yet still chewy toasted to perfection, eggs and bacon as good as they get. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We got to the place and waited an hour for our food. I would understand if it was busy but the place was close to empty and the staff was fooling around in the kitchen. i used to come to einstein bagels a lot when i worked near here. and i really enjoyed coming here because i really love bagels. (blueberry bagels because what other type of bagel is there that matters...oh wait cinnamon bagel no raisin DUH) lol i came here on a day off from work to get some lunch and was happy that i did. it used to just be this store by itself on the corner but they have added a few stores to the area immediately behind it. the one tricky thing for me at least is turning into the parking lot. lol right next to them is a daycare and for whatever reason every time i always turn too early and end up in the wrong parking lot lol but once i get to the correct parking lot i am always happy i came. they offer a menu for breakfast and lunch. their tasty options are for any set of taste buds. i usually got breakfast with coffee when i visited here. at this visit i ordered the santa fe....sandwich it was a longer name but it was really good. it came with a spread that was the right amount of heat. i like hot and spicy but sometimes i think it can be ridiculously hot to the point you cant even enjoy the food. yea i dont do that. but this was just the right amount. so woot woot ! cant wait to try more on my next visit. read more

QUICK REVIEW! INTRO: I'm not a huge bagel guy, but my wife is, and this is probably the best place to get bagels in Chesapeake, VA. THE GOOD: The bagels here are great. If you're looking for a cheap place to eat, Einstein's does not exactly fit that bill. It's not super expensive though. Also, and this is not Einstein's fault, the place is kind of far away from where I live in town, but again this is not their fault, and ultimately it's worth the drive. OVERALL: Einstein's is nice upscale bagel chain, with plenty of options. As far as bagels in Chesapeake go, the only other real options are Dunkin Donuts or Panera, and Einstein's beats both of those handily in my opinion. Let me preface this by saying I love EBB. I have been known to travel 200 miles to get a bag of their Autumn Blend coffee. That is why I was so excited that one was opening just a mile away from my house. Walking in the door for the first time, I was disappointed. Although the atmosphere has been updated (apparently to compete with Starbucks and Panera), I liked the feel of the more industrial NYC bagel place of the old concept. Along with the new concept came an expanded menu. HUGE disappointment. The fare is mediocre at best. The thing Einstein did best was schmeared bagels and good coffee. They should just stick with that. The staff was bumbling, but I chocked that up to opening jitters. I have been back 3 times since and this situation has not improved. They are friendly but inept. I hope this place improves. I will be back for the Autumn Blend to give it another chance. read more

Second time visiting this place and the service was horrible. Not only did they try to rush me and tried to make me feel stupid because I didn't know the menu (mind you it was only my second time there) but they assumed I wanted my order to go and didn't even ask if I wanted to dine in, and when I said something about it, one of the girls working there made a "face" and just turned around as if she was annoyed, thankfully the other young lady said "no problem we can fix that" and gave me a basket to dine in.
