I'm a huge fan of Einstein's in general--I've been a regular to the chain since college. This location is not the best. The employees were not very friendly, & somehow my bagel was not hot (barely warm) even though I grabbed it as soon as they called my name. I was also disappointed to see that they didn't sell the large fruit cup I'm used to seeing at other locations. Instead, they have a 5oz fruit cup which definitely wasn't enough. The inside, however, has lots of seating to include nice workspaces such as booths and a high table with outlets. I would give it another shot since this location is the most convenient, but I wasn't impressed this time. read more

Second time here and just not impressed. Staff is friendly but the food is just so-so. Had a sausage egg and cheese on Asiago bagel and it ranked right up there with a McDonald's egg Mcmuffin but 3 times the price. All premade or so it tasted. Nothing to write home about. Coffee selection is okay with a serve yourself coffee bar. I've choices with one flavor coming in regular or decaf. Coffee bar was not clean and there was evidence of bagel shrapnel on tables. If you really look you can tell this location needs a deep cleaning. I get the impression they want you to think they are handmade unique goodness but they are really just generic fast food with a bunch of so-so bagels. read more

Horrible customer service at the counter, and attitude from a "hispanic looking" lady, who did not have on a name tag so she could be identified. They made my order wrong, and I was walking out of the door they YELLED at me "HEY COME BACK QUICK". They opened up my bag, then unwrapped my sandwiches right there on the counter near the drinks. After they found the sandwich that was supposed to be in someone else's order, they just closed the wrapper back and shoved it into my sack. The lazy worker didn't even bother to wrap the sandwich back up properly. They brought me another sandwich to replace the one they took away, which ended up being the wrong sandwich for my order. I went here for my first time on Sept 23rd. I got the all nighter bagel and it was super good. However, I did realize that my bagel was being made on a bare counter. The contents of my bagel were sitting on the counter while my bagel was still being toasted and it was a red flag for me. I notated it and thought maybe I'll ask for that to be different the next time I come back. I came in the following week and asked if it was possible to make my bagel on the wrapper and was told no it was impossible because they cut the bagels...??? I asked if the paper rips can they just use another wrapper to replace it and was told no. I could tell that the cashier just wanted to be difficult so I left and will never come back. Calls will be made to have this fixed because they could poison someone with cross contamination not to mention that's just not sanitary. Also, if a customer is asking to have their food that they have to ingest, made a certain way, it should not be shut down. You never know if allergies are present and there are a multitude of foods that have ingredients that people are commonly allergic to. This was unacceptable and it sucks because I thought I found a good breakfast spot near me for the days that I work from home. read more

The one out of two bagel places in Hampton Roads worth visiting. Authentic delicious flavorful bagels. Their cappuccinos and lattes are pretty delicious too. I like the interior as well. It's comfortable with few sofas and armchairs in addition to multi seat high table and booths. You can visit by yourself and read one of the local newspapers available for free to customers. Little retro real hands on newspapers reading. I wish more places offered those still. They also have an app where you can earn points for purchases to get discounts or free coffees or free bagels etc. It's worth just signing up because you get free bagel just for buying first one with the points. So it's 2:20. There signage clearly states that they close at 3. I can see employees in there. One even made eye contact as they shut the blinds in my face. Sure, they may be closing early today for some unknown, unposted reason, but even a small amount of customer service could have answered that question. So I call to confirm and no one answers. I'm sure that this will be blamed on some sort of covid thing, but this is just what you call poor customer service and the wrong way to run a business. There is an Einstein Bros at my college (Odu, in the Perry Library) and it is extremely popular. The lines are always long, which made me avoid the place. Not because it was bad, but because it's popularity at my school it was way too busy to even try to order anything there. The two times I did though, I enjoyed it. I was surprised and thought it was random that an Einstein Bros was opening in Greenbrier, so I thought I would give this location a try! I went with my mom this morning. I ordered a classic egg cheddar and bacon on sesame bagel, and a iced mocha coffee. My mom got the same thing, but just a regular coffee. We both liked it a lot, I just wish they used real eggs. Not sure why this place gets bad reviews!! My everything bagel was delicious and my entire order was fresh. I don't expect people to love working food service every time I encounter a different place, but at least they are doing their job and not treating me like nothing, they at least act like they want to be here. The potato salad was great just tasted like a little too much mayo or vinegar (not sure what the recipe is) -and my mocha was also pretty good. I was happy to see FRESH avocado on my sandwich most places serve it when it is going brown! And my boyfriend finished his bagels no problem and also enjoyed his meal! Wonderful location with ample parking. Bagel sandwiches are fantastic and the coffee is just as strong as you need it to be. There are plenty of comfy seats to lounge and regular table tops. Its everything Starbucks is but much more. Employees are always friendly and very quick to fill orders. With so many bagel options you cannot go wrong with their smear and bagel flavor combinations. Today i stopped by with my family to have lunch. I ordered a turkey b.a.t. bagel to go. Once I got in my vehicle I opened my sandwich to find that the bagel was burned with 80%of it being black and one slice of turkey. I went back in and showed the employee JORDAN how it was burnt and that there was one slice of turkey on it. He looked at me puzzled and instead of apologizing said that's what the oven does. I got upset! As he was not going to offer to fix it. So I asked him if he would eat it himself and would he be happy spending his hard earned money on the bagel he presented me. So he finally asked if i wanted my money back or should he make a new one. I requested a new one and the lovely girl who corrected the issue made a very presentable bagel NOT burned. Jordan needs some serious training! I was very unhappy with this visit as apparently the oven burns stuff and it's normal to send products out like that. Although my issue was corrected I will probably not be back to this location as Jordan's unprofessionalism was offputting and his bagel making skills seriously lack along with his customer service skills. read more

Husband and I got lox bagels. I swear the salmon must have been bad because we both got stomach ache after a few minutes after eating it. Truth be told, this was probably one of the best bagels I've had ever. It was perfectly made it was crunchy and yet still chewy toasted to perfection, eggs and bacon as good as they get. So why two stars.... Price..... $10 for a bagel, one egg, two slices of bacon and 8oz of coffee?? If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We got to the place and waited an hour for our food. I would understand if it was busy but the place was close to empty and the staff was fooling around in the kitchen. The lady working the cash register had terrible customer service and was rude the entire time. Everyone that was behind us got their food and we still hadn't gotten ours yet. i used to come to einstein bagels a lot when i worked near here. and i really enjoyed coming here because i really love bagels. (blueberry bagels because what other type of bagel is there that matters...oh wait cinnamon bagel no raisin DUH) lol i came here on a day off from work to get some lunch and was happy that i did. it used to just be this store by itself on the corner but they have added a few stores to the area immediately behind it. the one tricky thing for me at least is turning into the parking lot. lol right next to them is a daycare and for whatever reason every time i always turn too early and end up in the wrong parking lot lol but once i get to the correct parking lot i am always happy i came. they offer a menu for breakfast and lunch. their tasty options are for any set of taste buds. i usually got breakfast with coffee when i visited here. at this visit i ordered the santa fe....sandwich it was a longer name but it was really good. it came with a spread that was the right amount of heat. i like hot and spicy but sometimes i think it can be ridiculously hot to the point you cant even enjoy the food. yea i dont do that. but this was just the right amount. so woot woot ! cant wait to try more on my next visit. read more

I loved the environment in here! Plenty of room to study or talk. Super comfy couches and chairs with a tv. The bagels were not up to par however. They were crunchy and dry. I love trying new foods, but these bagels made me crave a Panera bagel instead. There just wasn't anything super special about the bagels, and the prices were mediocre. QUICK REVIEW! INTRO: I'm not a huge bagel guy, but my wife is, and this is probably the best place to get bagels in Chesapeake, VA. THE GOOD: The bagels here are great. They have a wide selection of different bagel types. They also have a wide variety of different kinds of cream cheese options and other spreads. I may be a gentile, but I do love a good lox and cream cheese bagel every now and again, and this is the only place in Chesapeake (that I know of anyway) where this item can be obtained. It seems you can get breakfast all day. I've come here three times, and so far I've not been disappointed by anything I've ordered. THE BAD Not much to say here. If you're looking for a cheap place to eat, Einstein's does not exactly fit that bill. It's not super expensive though. Also, and this is not Einstein's fault, the place is kind of far away from where I live in town, but again this is not their fault, and ultimately it's worth the drive. OVERALL: Einstein's is nice upscale bagel chain, with plenty of options. As far as bagels in Chesapeake go, the only other real options are Dunkin Donuts or Panera, and Einstein's beats both of those handily in my opinion. Let me preface this by saying I love EBB. I have been known to travel 200 miles to get a bag of their Autumn Blend coffee. That is why I was so excited that one was opening just a mile away from my house. Walking in the door for the first time, I was disappointed. Although the atmosphere has been updated (apparently to compete with Starbucks and Panera), I liked the feel of the more industrial NYC bagel place of the old concept. Along with the new concept came an expanded menu. HUGE disappointment. The fare is mediocre at best. The thing Einstein did best was schmeared bagels and good coffee. They should just stick with that. The staff was bumbling, but I chocked that up to opening jitters. I have been back 3 times since and this situation has not improved. They are friendly but inept. I hope this place improves. I will be back for the Autumn Blend to give it another chance. read more

My husband and I have been in a few times and the food quality and the service get worse with every visit, but today's visit was our last and final The food quality was "ehh. . ." At best. My husband ordered The Farm house and it was the equivalent to leftover lunch meat on a dry bagel. I ordered the Spinach, artichoke, and chicken. It was really good. Hot, melty, delicious. My 2yr old had a muffin. The service was slow and multiple came and went before we got our order. The slow service isn't what sealed the deal on how horrible this place is. . . It was the employees dropping the F-Bomb and other 4 letter words well within earshot of my child. I made it a point to stand up and say "excuse me, I can hear you, my son can hear you." I love the food and the environment here but the services suuuuuucks. I've been here a few times and the same guy has been working who just had a bad attitude and that really just sets the tone for this place.
