Would go again. I've eaten here many times over the past 8 years or so. No complaints over food quality, service, waits, or service. I have never had a bad experience here for any reason. I have only ever had breakfast and brunch here, but I have no complaints about the eggs, potatoes, coffee, juice, or anything else. I do like their potato pancakes, but Max & Benny's have the best in the area from my experience. I like the variety of healthy options. The fruity and nutty oatmeal is quite good. While the food was good, the restaurant was filthy and the service was really slow. When we walked in, we noticed a plastic tooth floss tool lying on the step. We pointed it out to the hostess, yet when we left. It was still there. Glasses all had dirt and lipstick on them. Not enough silverware provided and no syrup for the 3 orders of pancakes until we asked 4 times and then we got one little serving of it. Eggsperience used to have the best corned beef hash on the planet. It was chopped corned beef brisket, browned to perfection on the flat grill. The flavor was exquisite, with a hint of orange that surprised you. Back then (around 2009-2011 or so), this little something extra marked everything about Eggsperience. A few years ago, they switched to ground hash with nothing special about it. And that last bit perfectly captures the diner's experience here. The coffee isn't as good, the corned beef hash isn't as good, the omelettes aren't as good. They're okay, but there's nothing special about it anymore. It's a shame, because there was a time I took every friend from out-of-town to Eggsperience. When I first noticed the change, I brought it up with the server. A great cafe with a hometown diner feel that offers tasty food at fair prices! Don't let the name fool you -- there are lots of menu options in addition to eggs: sandwiches, salads, etc. There are booths inside and tables outside. The restaurant is pleasant and comfortable as one might expect. I had an avocado chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. Complimentary soda refills. The staff is courteous, attentive, and efficient. My classmate/friend and I went for lunch one late June weekday while attending a conference at the nearby Trinity International University. I used to come here once a week with my son when he was in High School but finally stopped because the service was so bad - mixed up orders, slow service and incorrect billing. I was out with a co-worker recently and he wanted to give it a try. I am sad to report that not only are they up to the same old poor service but the food was of poor quality as well. It was a nice day and we asked to be seated outside. No problem unless you actually wanted your order taken. After a while we finally flagged a waiter down and got our order placed. We both ordered the turkey burger, I, with sweet potato fries and the co-worker, with regular fries. The turkey burger was gross. Tasted like some sort meal. No turkey flavor at all. It was thin and smothered in flavorless cheese. Couldn't even tell you the type of cheese that it was supposed to be. Also, had one measly tomato slice and a single piece of romaine lettuce. Came with what I can only guess was a mustard sauce. Am not really sure but it wasn't very tasty. The sweet potato fries were not good and I love sweet potato fries. These clearly came from a frozen bag. I never leave one behind but I left a bunch of these on the plate. When we asked to have the bill paid (because we forgot that you pay the cashier yourself) the waiter snidely told us pay inside. Will not be back. This was the last time for sure. read more

This place is good. I actually preferred the atmosphere at the (now closed) Long Grove location. The ambiance in this place (despite being in Bannockburn) is somewhat lacking. The colors are bright and cheery, but the layout was not thought out the way it should have been. The food is better than some other breakfast places I've been to. I had the corned beef hash and my mom had a greek frittata (she added spinach, as the actual dish does not contain spinach). Both were delicious. My corned beef did not come out of a can, it was actual corned beef flaked off of the brisket and mixed with tiny diced potatoes... could have used more seasoning, though. I added a ton of pepper. My mom's frittata tasted really good, enough kalamata olives and lots of flavor. We both had hot tea, loved that experience. The tea Eggsperience provides is not a basket of papery packets that you dunk in hot water. They bring out a tray with little tins of looseleaf, handcrafted tea that you can read the ingredients, smell and choose. We both chose the "Love" blend, it's very fruity and light. They bring it out in an individual tea press. When inquiring about the brand, we were told that a gentleman in the area actually handcrafts all of these blends for local restaurants, but we could buy a pack for $10. We did. A little pricey, but it is specialty looseleaf tea. All in all, I will go back... mostly for the food, not so much the atmosphere. They've really stepped up in service, friendliness, and the food is better than any other sit down breakfast restaurant around. The corned beef hash is the star. After many weeks of waiting, I was finally able to indulge a craving for something with syrup. Although I ended up ordering a french toast meal that included cream cheese frosting and strawberries, so I guess I never got my syrup. But the real point here was the pancake/waffle/french toast, so I will say mission accomplished. It was good - I won't say it was stellar, but as I've observed before, I have a really really broad range of 3 star for breakfast places. I feel like it's so hard to distinguish yourself that it's difficult to move out of the "it was fine" range. I've been a regular and have shook off the reviews on Yelp but the last few times have really been lack-luster. In the crowded north-shore breakfast market they need to do better and show they care. I got my usual corned beef hash and my wife got a scrambler with onions/green peppers. The waiter was one of the newer guys (6 months) and just not very good. The food came out and the corned beef hash, which I love, was dry and a bit burnt. My wifes eggs looked awful. The onions where more like you'd find on a burger and the eggs dry and UN-appealing. We tried to say something but the waiter never check on us. The owner just was walking back and forth and you'd think as a regular would once in a while check on us. Really disappointed. read more

Even though the food is decent, there really aren't many other breakfast/brunch options available in the area. With that said, the food comes slowly, and the host stand is inefficient. I was least impressed by the manager, who starting seating people who just walked in, even though there was an entire list of people waiting to be seated. Very disappointing. Cold hash browns. Lox platter does not include hard boiled egg? Menu says red onion but it comes out with sharp spanish onion. Only plain bagels. Only jar of kraft cream cheese like you get at Holiday Inn Express. Eggs over easy are done medium or more. Nothing special, like super fluffy, or made of delicious batter. Just some pancake batter heated up in a waffle iron. Exciting, I know. The strawberries and whipped cream are what make the dish. But still, pretty basic so it can't get more than three stars or any worse than three stars. Co-worker's french toast looked pretty good. But her corned beef hash was almost inedible to her, and she knows her corned beef hash. I thought it was ok, kinda of mushy, salty, and not very distinguishable. But I don't really know what corned beef hash is supposed to taste like. However, order the corned beef hash with caution. I have always liked the Weight Watchers wrap. It is made with egg whites and has tons of vegetables and lower fat cheese. I always have fruit with it. I count it as 7 points on my weight watchers diet. Once in a while I will have eggs over easy, bacon and splurge on hashbrowns instead of fruit. I have the whole wheat bread with a bit of butter. The service is great, efficient and fast. The owner is nice, and wants to make sure your experience (get it) is good. The Eleni egg omelette is really good and so filling. Visited this location on recent vacation, three mornings. My husband loved their freshly squeezed orange juice. I enjoyed fresh strawberry crepes twice. We eat out for breakfast usually both Saturday and Sunday, and happened to stop by Eggsperience quite by accident. I wish we hadn't. Our server was rude and clearly annoyed, the food was TERRIBLE, and $60 for 2 adult meals and 2 kids meals is ridiculous for the subpar quality of the food and service. There was so much junk on the table the server put a bunch of glasses on the ground near our feet to make room, rather than take them away. The eggs on my eggs Benedict were not fully cooked, the scrambled eggs for my husband and kids were so over cooked they were green in places, the fruit side consisted of 4 pieces of fruit, and the pancakes are the worst we ever had. I really wish I loved this place since I've always heard good reviews. I'm hoping it was just that day when the food I had wasn't great. But when I received my skillet the potatoes were all burnt and the whole dish just tasted bitter. It wasn't busy when we went so I'm not sure how it could be burnt so badly. The shopping center that Eggsperience is located in is upper scale and very nice. (Panera, Dominicks, Starbucks, etc). My son and I arrived around 8am on a Sunday morning and seated immediately. Water is already on the table and the coffee decanter was placed there too as soon as coffee was requested. (coffee was decent). The menu includes breakfast and lunch items. The breakfast items include the entire spectrum - from low fat, vegetarian to messy crepes and frittatas. My son ordered corned beef hash after confirming that it was home made and I just had eggs & turkey sausage w/ fruit. The corned beef hash was outstanding and he inhaled it. Wonderful shreds of corned beef and small diced potatoes. He is not a fan of onions so they were light. The menu also had fresh squeezed juices! Yum. By the time we left we could tell they were getting ready for a rush. There were alot of staff arriving and ready to handle a big after church crowd. I will go back if we travel to Chicago again. read more

Some of my favorite items are the Banana/Nutella crepes, North shore yogurt, Burger w/avocado and sweet potato fries, Chocolate pancakes and my absolute favorite the Chicken salad sandwich. By the way... Orange juice is freshly squeezed! The staff is very friendly, and service is prompt. I've never had to ask for something twice when I was there. Went here for the first time this morning. The bacon is greasy but delicious and the Eggs Benedict are tasty with some nice spices to differentiate them from others in the area. The hash browns are especially good making for a solid overall breakfast. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating and the outdoor seating at this establishment make it one of the only breakfast places I know of in the Highland park, Deerfield, Highwood area with this option. read more
