Just had brunch here today. We ordered the burger, avocado toast and French toast for our son. The food was so bad we didn't even eat half despite the fact that we were very hungry. The burger was dry and plan. The avocado toast came with 1 piece of toast both were 12.99 each. The French toast for our son was just ok. My son didn't eat it so my wife had a couple of bites. Finding a good neighborhood breakfast place, especially in the far north suburbs, can be tough. I've been lucky to find a couple and this one hits the mark. Good food, served very quickly, and with great servers. They are attentive and will do what it takes to get it right. None of the food is for foodies. You find avocado sushi on toast to go with your meal (yes I made that up). You will find great breakfast food like omelets, skillets, pancakes and more. This time, I tried a burger for lunch. The food came quickly and looked decent, but was heavy and salty. The portions were too large and the hollandaise looked like it came out of a bag with an unnatural yellow color. Having come all the way from Milwaukee to meet friends for breakfast, I was disappointed in the food, but even more disappointed when they rushed us out by taking plates and the bill back right as I was signing it. This visit was a few months back...It's really difficult to put my finger on it since the food is always good. I think in this post pandemic atmosphere though what I really enjoyed was the lovely waitress who was about to seat us, after we asked for a seat outside, highly recommended that we don't sit outside... Because of the bees. The entire patio of course is lined with lovely flowers, and bees normally have no use for humans. But, if you add food to the equation they will get curious and become a nuisance. It was a great suggestion and we went inside. So, that's all I have to say about that. Consistency is nice! That is definitely one thing you can expect from Eggsperience!!! When you pick up the menu, it is hard not to find one, two, three...different items you might want. This is because their menu is large with a variety of options. Plus, there are many healthier options too. Not to mention their juice bar and smoothies. My husband usually gets an omelet. Not a risk taker! He thoroughly enjoys their drop coffee. Plus, they even give you a take out cup with the extra from the canisters at your table!! Fully caffeinated!! I vary it time to time. They have a few Mexican breakfast options that I enjoy. Also, their oatmeal and breakfast panini sandwich is delicious as well. We haven't had anything that we wouldn't order again. The rough translation: 'Whoa, what's with all the elderly folks here?' I had family in town, and I was thrilled to bring everyone here for a meal. My kiddos split the Berry Berry pancakes with granola and a side of bacon. The pancakes were ginormous and topped with whipped cream (I know bad mom). I split the omelet with my hubby and added cheese to my hashbrowns and he got toast. Oh my was it completely loaded with veggies (spinach, tomatoes, feta cheese, and kalamata olives and a huge portion of yummy hashbrowns I almost didn't want to share. I tried the fresh squeezed orange juice, and it was really like one of those commercials where you imagine the straw going right into the orange - fresh and tasty. My brother and his wife split an omelet and got the pancakes as a side. She ordered the pumpkin spice latte and it was better than the Sbux kind, smooth as a whip. She ended up taking home a bag of their own beans. I imagine our bill probably came to close to $50 for six people, which is a steal. We're going to have to think twice about going back to Eggsperience. The food is generally good, Eleni's Omelet is big enough to take half home for the tomorrow's breakfast, but customer service can be severely deficient. Six or eight months ago we found a cockroach on our table, which I trapped under a glass to show the manager (Gus). We were told that Gus was in a meeting and I told the waiter to tell him it's about a cockroach. After another 5 minutes we went looking for Gus and found him at a table in the back of the restaurant, seemingly unconcerned about our discovery (we're frequent diners and know Gus). \ By the time Gus came over to our table, a busboy had cleaned it off, removing the trapped cockroach. Gus didn't apologize and he didn't offer to "buy us" breakfast. He just said that he would have to call his exterminator. After that, we took a hiatus from Eggsperience. We went back today with some out of town guests (they'd already had the apple pancake at Walker Bros) and set about to enjoy breakfast before ferrying them back to the airport. A young lady who was not our waitress brought the food, not unusual in any restaurant. We immediately informed her that our friend's omelet was supposed to have spinach in it, but it was clearly missing. I informed her that I was missing the fruit cup that was supposed to come with mine. The waitress said, "Oh," and sped off. We assumed was going to correct the oversights or send back our waiter. She did neither. After waiting 10 minutes (no one came back to our table, although the restaurant was near empty), so we decided to just eat it and beat it. When presented with the bill, the waiter did not mention the issues we raised with the waitress. To me, this is unacceptable customer service and we are probably going to have to replace Eggsperience as our go to breakfast place. It's a shame, because the food is good. I don't know who trains the wait staff, but two words missing from the training manual might be "customer" and "service." read more

I've written a few reviews about Eggsperience Cafe and it continues to be consistently good in service and food quality. Portions are generous, waiters are prompt, helpful and professional. It's a great place to take the family, meet a friend or have a business breakfast or lunch. They've skinnied down the menu selection which I find refreshing. Sometimes, too many choices become overwhelming and confusing. This time I ordered the caramel apple pancakes vs the french toast and Yum! Hubby tried the turkey burger with sweet potato fries and enjoyed every last bite. Don't let the line turn you off. The wait is usually very short, less than 10 minutes. We came in with a group of 8 adults and 2 children on Memorial Day for breakfast around 9:30. (yes, we were able to make a reservation!) We were given coffee and water right away, and I love that they leave carafes and pitchers on the table. The menu is rather large, but easy for anyone from a health nut to a gluttonous you know what can find something to indulge in. We had a variety of things on the table between all of us, French toast, scramblers, skillets, benedicts, and omelettes. Everything looked delicious, even my boyfriend's French toast covered in bananas (which I'm allergic to.) I had the chorizo omelette, which comes stuffed with chorizo, tomatoes, onions, cheese and jalapenos. It also comes with a side of sour cream and salsa. It was a huge portion, I'm glad I opted for sliced tomatoes instead of hash browns. The flavors were great... just enough spice, and the filling was evenly distributed through the omelette. My wife and I ate here because we've gone past a bunch of times going to the grocery and it always seems very busy. We ate on a pleasant summer Sunday morning, and while the place was very busy, we got a table right away. That's because they have a loooong stretch of outdoor seating. And most of it is under the eaves of the building so you'll be dry on a rainy day. The waitress was very friendly but a bit overwhelmed by the number of customers. On one hand, she was very accommodating with my particular breakfast order. On the other hand, it took a while after we asked to get sweetener for my coffee. After a long time of not going, we decided to give it another try. Was surprised about how NOT crowded it was at 9:15 on a Sunday morning. Menu was reduced. I got a scrambler with hash browns and pan cakes. A lot of food but was generally not HOT. Food cooled off super fast. Scrambler and browns weres spread out on the plate which promoted the cooldown. The pancakes were really dense and thick, but didn't melt butter. Sent two plates of food back which took our waitress nearly 10 minutes to return. The place is super noisy while the food is just OK. Nothing to write home to mom about! I don't think we'll be going back for a while.... again. Eggsperience is pretty good and I always leave full. Their Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice is really good. I usually order the Chorizo Omelette. It's really big and can fill you up if you stick just to that. I also get the Lox Bagel on the side. It would be nice if there were a little bit more Lox and they added their own cream cheese as opposed to giving you a little container of Philadelphia but oh well. The staff is courteous, attentive, and efficient. My classmate/friend and I went for lunch one late June weekday while attending a conference at the nearby Trinity International University. Eggsperience used to have the best corned beef hash on the planet. It was chopped corned beef brisket, browned to perfection on the flat grill. The flavor was exquisite, with a hint of orange that surprised you. Back then (around 2009-2011 or so), this little something extra marked everything about Eggsperience. A few years ago, they switched to ground hash with nothing special about it. And that last bit perfectly captures the diner's experience here. The coffee isn't as good, the corned beef hash isn't as good, the omelettes aren't as good. They're okay, but there's nothing special about it anymore. It's a shame, because there was a time I took every friend from out-of-town to Eggsperience. When I first noticed the change, I brought it up with the server. Clean booths, Dum Dums at the counter (seems to be a requisite thing in the Chi burbs), sprawling menu and free WiFi! Our server was sweet and to the point - just the way I prefer during a meeting time. As for the food, the crepes were standard but tasty - three flufftastic envelopes filled with fresh strawberries with a light dusting of powdered sugar. Nothing over the top, but nicely done. Turkey sausage fared the same. As for the standout - the coffee! And this is coming from someone who doesn't drink too much java. I had heard of the Eggsperience on Ontario, but I had no idea that they had other locations until we stumbled upon this location tucked away in a fancy strip mall in Bannockburn. The servings were tasty and very sizeable for lunch. I enjoyed a "healthy" turkey burger with sweet potato fries. The wheat bun was toasted so every bite of the sandwich had a nice subtle crunch to it, and that is seconded by the crunch of each and every single one of the fries. The lettuce and tomato also added to the crisp texture of the entire meal. One of my colleagues ordered a gigantic salad, which included four quesadilla wedges that would have been a satisfactory lunch in itself. Atmosphere was VERY loud - but I think this is due to the structure of the building. We both ordered a skillet and the portions were NOT huge - not even close; we both left wishing for more. The pancakes were not light or fluffy, but rather grainy and dry. Yuck! I wish I would've ordered the toast instead and if the waitress had ever returned to ask how everything was I would've told her so - but the service was also so lack luster that no one came to ask how our meal even was. We did ask for extra syrup when it was delivered, but instead of returning with plenty of syrup to make the pancakes edible we got just one more small syrup thing and more butter. We had plenty of butter already as we had not used all of the first delivery, so that was not what we needed and I think shows a lack of listening skills on the waitress. The skillet portion was yummy but wish it had been bigger. We did see someone as we left with an omelette and it was HUGE; perhaps that is what we should've ordered. I disagree that there were not good options and a lot of creativity is on that menu. Overall with the price and the amount of food vs what I can get at competitors I would not recommend.
