We've been here quite a few times over the past 5-6 years. Always looked forward to breakfast/brunch here. We pulled into the parking lot around noon on a Friday, thinking we may have to wait a bit. We noticed there were very few cars in the lot. Not a good sign. Also, we were the only patrons in the place. While there, only 8 more came in. My husband ordered an omelet with one piece of dry toast. He got 2 pieces slathered with margarine. Omelet was swimming in grease. Unappetizing. I know that COVID wreaked havoc on a lot of businesses, and the owner of Eggstraordinary had to close all but this location. But, there are things this owner can control with this 1 location. There used to be beautiful hanging baskets of plants/flowers outside. Bring them back! Repaint the dining rooms. The servers were in the "back" the whole time. Why? The person greeting and seating your customers had no warmth or enthusiasm. We had to search 4 tables before we found one that had a ketchup bottle that was at least half full. The other table of patrons had one member having to go to another table to get salt and pepper. Pay attention to details that matter. You can bring patrons back, but you have to care about these things. read more

Our first time visiting this restaurant and our breakfasts were AMAZING. Like talk about the entire way home and already planning our next visit amazing. I had the corned beef hash and my husband had the special that morning which was a frittata. My husband loves breakfast food and judges all breakfast places on their pancakes so we also had a single pancake. The best pancakes we have ever had (and we have tried a lot)! The corned beef hash was great and my husband's frittata was cooked perfectly. And the 'house' potatoes that came with both....so good. Unfortunately we are not local but the 35 minute drive will be worth it! read more

Hidden gem in Nokomis --- definitely worth finding! Read the reviews & had my doubts. Boy was I wrong! Attractive front area with tables for two on the front patio area. Inside it is airy & attractive with soft colors. I appreciate the fact that there is space between tables -- no squeezing everyone in. We were greeted promptly & our drink orders were taken. Our server told us the special & let us peruse the menu. Husband ordered "Breakfast Supreme " with bacon. I ordered corned beef hash. Winners on both count. Order the corned beef hash - you will think you died and went to heaven. Came here with a party of six for breakfast. This place fills up quickly, so if you have a larger group, consider getting there before 8am. The menu has something for everyone, whether it be omelettes, pancakes, breakfast plates, hash, sausage, bacon, or yes, freshly squeezed orange juice. We left delighted. I am really not sure why this place gets such rave reviews. First, please don't tell me that hollandaise sauce is homemade properly when it obviously is not. I would rather someone be honest and tell me it is NOT made with eggyolks, butter and lemon the way it is supposed to me than to lie to me. This absolutely tasted like melted mayo. I've been making this sauce for over 25 years, so I know what it is supposed to taste like. Next, the corned beef hash really lacked any flavor at all and it seemed more like baby food than hash. It was very underwhelming. Honestly, my husband and I had a hard time eating the food. The saving grace for this place on reviews is that the staff is very nice. Our server was very attentive and these three stars are for her. Unfortunately the food didn't earn any. Personally I prefer the Breakfast House across the road. They are at least honest about their ingredients and their corned beef hash and stuffed French toast are divine! read more

So good! Restaurant is very clean and quant. I had the tropical French toast with grits and my husband had the shrimp and grits. Both were great! Perfect brunch! Fast and friendly service! We stopped in for brunch last Sunday and we really enjoyed the experience. Hubs ordered the island french toast, which was topped with coconut and pineapple - great serving size! I had the bacon benny - an eggs benedict dish with delicious smoked Applewood bacon, which came with country potatoes that were really yummy, too. Went there Saturday about noon, timing just right. Got a table immediately, but a few minutes later all tables were full. Very nice waitress, very attentive throughout our breakfast. We got 2 crab meat eggs Benedict, a special. Can I say spectacular? Just delicious....the eggs tasty and done perfectly. I've only been here twice and both times it's been very busy but we seemed to have been able to get seated right away both times which was great. They have indoor and outdoor seating, the service is descent and the prices are reasonable. The menu selection is pretty large and it's great for breakfast but what I recommend is trying the tropical pancakes which are pancakes with a large pineapple slice in the center, macadamia nuts, and coconut. These are super tasty and I've never seen anything like them before. Also try the tropical cakes which is their tropical twist on French toast. The tropical cakes are made with coconut, pineapple, and bananas. These are very tasty as well and I can't decide which I like better because they are both sooo good. You will definitely find a little taste of Florida when you come here. read more

The place was very cute and well kept. We were just passing through so wanted to grab something quick. They weren't very busy, Thursday morning. We did get great quick service and very fresh food. There is nothing I enjoy more than a good breakfast. As a part time resident of Venice, I've visited and enjoyed most of the local breakfast spots. All are popular and most serve satisfying fare. That said, found Eggs-TRAordinary this past week and have been there twice. This place is outstanding. The corn beef hash is the best I've ever had. My wife had a eye-popping veggie omelet and an eggs Bennie, both of which she raved. As for Covid concerns, we've personally observed them clean tables after guests have left and the place is open and airy. Five STARS were easy to give. read more

I have only been there once so far and had a great experience. It was on Mother's Day and they seemed to be managing the crowd very well. Just behind Mama Leone's Italian rest. Very tasty options and at 9 Am they EVEN served lunch if you wanted it. I had their onion soup and it was as good as it gets. The decor and service was well done and very cheerful. Incredible food, location, and service! Went for the first time for Saturday Brunch with my husband and puppy. He loves going to dog friendly joints in the neighborhood. We actually walked here from our house which was a huge plus. We were instantly greeted by a very sweet server named Chris who was very helpful and attentive throughout our visit. We had their fresh squeezed orange juice that was heaven in a glass and two waters. They even brought Willie a big bowl of ice water and offered a multitude of pup friendly snacks ( which we politely declined). I had the special omelet which was basil, tomatoes, baby spinach, and creamy fresh mozzarella with a side of the house made home fries. My husband had the eggs Benedict. This is in fact the best breakfast we've had in the Sarasota / Venice area ! Combine the amazing food, large portions, reasonable prices, and very friendly staff - you have a winner. OMG - I have to thank my good friend Janet for suggesting this EXTRAORDINARY eatery. I was impressed with all the food I saw on the different tables, so I had a hard time choosing from their extensive menu. Ended up ordering a Chef Salad, but when Janet's "Mama Nini" arrived, my mouth started watering and so I asked my delightful waitress Peggy if I could take the Chef's Salad home and also order the Mama Nini for my lunch today. The host, named James, was so extra attentive, I must say the service in this place was truly remarkable. It makes a patron feel valued to say the least. First off. Karen our server was awesome and frendly. Had a Greek omelet was great just the bright amount of flavor balancing also..with the spinach was cooked and drained so did not make the omelet wet like other places..also DEFINITELY get the cornbeef hash.they make it with fresh cornbeef. We had breakfast here on Saturday and it was really good. Pretty crowded but the service was excellent and the food came out quickly. We had a wonderful waiter with a lovely Irish brogue. I had the corned beef hash with eggs, grits & toast. This is real corned beef hash people, made from an actual piece of corned beef. Nothing ground up or canned and it was delicious. I try "homemade" corned beef in any breakfast place I go to, and almost invariably it is terrible. So glad I took a chance on this one and it's terrific. I probably won't ever try anything else at this restaurant for breakfast ... it was that good. Oh the grits were really good too. Husband had the creamed chipped beef on toast (may have been a special), and that too was the real thing. Not potted meat, but beef that they cooked ... in their kitchen ... and then made a flavorful gravy for it. I got to taste it and it was yummy. I didn't give it 5 stars because the poached eggs were a little weird. Not bad tasting or rubbery, but looked like they'd been cooked in a ring or something. I like mine cooked in a water bath so they're still a little wiggly when I cut into them. Don't let that stop you, this place serves a really good breakfast. read more
