There is a long counter w metal bar stools and booths w a second room with tables! They are open early morning until about 2pm! It's a Breakfast Brunch and Lunch location! Shari ordered Chipped Beef over Toast w a side of Home Fried Potatoes and a sweet tea! I ordered Poached Eggs Florentine w Benedict sauce Spinach & tomatoes w a side of sliced tomatoes.. My husband and I wanted to find a nice diner for breakfast and I feel that we scored big time! We're from MA and were in Englewood for 10 days. April 2026. It was a Sunday and pretty busy. Somehow, we were able to get right in and sat at the breakfast bar. Their home fried potatoes were extra crunchy and delicious! I got the linked sausages, which were huge. My husband got the round pattie and loved it. They had a variety of choices to please everyone. Their breads for toast were so fresh. You can tell this is a well loved local spot as you walk in. There is a true diner feel and a welcoming atmosphere. There were specials on the board that were tempting, but I went with the garden skillet. I'm glad I did, the eggs were cooked perfectly (soft poached as I ordered) and the potatoes were somehow still crispy under the veggies and eggs. It's been a while since I've gone out for breakfast, and this place reminded me how nice it is to sit down and enjoy a good meal in a cozy, family-style spot. Our server Lorrie was awesome, and Kelly jumped in to help a few times too. Both had such positive, happy energy and were super attentive without us ever needing to ask for anything. The busser had a bright neon octopus hat on, which honestly added a fun touch to the whole vibe. I ordered the Big Breakfast and it was perfect. Went here two days ago. Wife got the rueben. She said it was ok. The meat was sliced not shaved. So it was chewy. I got the country fried steak. They must have changed their supplier as it was not as good as the last one I had there. I used to get it nearly every time we went. Very disappointing experience. Pancake was so doughy I couldn't eat it. I had ordered coffee but the server didn't bring it. When the food came, I told her to forget about the coffee. She said, "Are you sure? It's right over there. I can get it." She never checked back on us to see if we needed anything. This place was packed when we came! It's clearly a local favorite. They have a huge case up front with the most mouth-watering desserts. My friend ordered a ton of different treats to go because they were too scrumptious to pass up! Breakfast itself was awesome. The menu was filled with options galore, so everyone at our table was able to find something they enjoyed. We didn't have to wait for a table around 11am on a Saturday, which was great. I ordered the big breakfast and it was a ton of food for a great price. There were several biscuits, lots of potatoes, tons of huge chunks of sausage (I prefer it ground up more and in the gravy) and not much gravy. My husband had french toast. Many options on the menu that some restaurants don't have (Ex: they had several different types of bread to add to your meal), which makes this location unique and stand out from the traditional spots. Stopped in after searching for breakfast spots while in vacation. Based on good reviews and menu, we headed to Spinnakeer Cafe. We arrived mid morning on a Saturday and managed to grab the last table available No sooner did we sit down, out drink order was placed and I was sipping on some coffee. We ordered the Cajun Skillet (sausage, peppers, onions, mushrooms grilled with homefries & American cheese) topped with scrambled eggs, Garden Skillet (Veggies grilled, topped with homefries & Feta cheese) topped with scrambled eggs and Chocolate Chip pancakes with bacon. Food was plentiful and overall a great meal. Often torn when it comes to a 5 star based rating when you need to decide between a 4 or 5. Truly it was a 4.5 star visit mainly because the Garden Skillet has a piece of bacon. I'd dismiss it of I did not see another complaint recently. Also asked for no mushrooms and it came woth mushrooms. If not for the two small mishaps, would have been a 5 star experience. I have been to Spinnakers twice and I can't say enough about this restaurant. It reminds me of family owned restaurants and dinners from back home in Chicago. It's good home cooking with friendly and efficient staff. They are very organized, clean and Service was excellent. Marilyn was my server and she was on top of her tables. The homemade soups are excellent and they are fresh and very tasty. I had a blue cheese burger with bacon and it was a fresh patty and loaded with blue cheese. You get a variety of sides to choose from with your meal and portions are very generous. There is a case of pastries that look amazing. I took home a whoopie pie and it was absolutely great. If you are looking for a diner equivalent to Denny's then this is the place for you! We did not enjoy it. The fries were even undercooked. The corned beef hash was out of a can (which we knew was a risk when ordering it). Rueben had corned beef that looked like it came from a package at the grocery store. Popular and very good for breakfast I stopped in a little before 8 this morning and found myself the only customer. That would soon change. I grabbed a booth and coffee was ordered and delivered almost instantaneously. What I ordered for breakfast was their Hash N Cheese Skillet and that was also quickly prepared. I timed it as under 4 minutes. Although it looked like a few of the ingredients came out of cans I liked the skillet. It has a home fries base with mushrooms, onions, peppers, cheese, and corned beef hash. The over easy eggs were cooked properly and the size was more than enough. As I sat there a few more customers came in but also a few more servers. The restaurant is a pretty good size but the server to customer ratio seemed extreme. And then more customers came in, then more. By the time I left and I'm not a slow eater, I was feeling a little guilty I was taking up a 4 top booth instead of a seat at the lunch counter. My timing was exceedingly good for getting in ahead of the crowd. I liked the restaurant with a bold red used to provide a nice look. It is in a strip mall with parking just outside the door. As my first time, I had to learn you pay up front by the dessert case. It was not obvious because there was not a register visible. They use a hand held card reader for credit cards. Not sure how the cash thing would work but of course they would take cash somehow. read more

They are busy most of the time but despite this their service is great and timely. The Spinnaker cafe is a typical American diner which is what all us Brits look for, we love diners Excellent service, great friendly staff, immaculately clean.
