I tried this place 3 times and all were equally horrible. This last time was my last time I'll be here to eat. First time I had a Reuben and it was thick tough meat and was unseasoned. The second time I got the chipped beef (I knew I was taking a chance) and Stouffer's makes a better frozen one. And this last time, I ordered the Hash & Cheese Skillet. The Corned Beef Hash was out of a cab and looked and smelled like Alpo dog food. It didn't taste much better either and was barely cooked. Probably because he had to make it twice because the waitress didn't hear me say I didn't want onions in it. The potatoes tasted bitter and old. I couldn't get past the 1 bite I took, as it killed my appetite. I'm gonna guess and say they used the food they had from before they shut down for Covid a few months ago. It was absolutely disgusting. Not to mention it's just wrong to serve old food because you're trying to be cheap. You can't tell me they don't know they're serving old food and just overall cheap shit. If you can't put out quality products, then why stay in business?? You'll get more business if you just spend the money and get better quality products to put out to your customers. And buying frozen food costs more than making from scratch. I like lunch the Crab or any fish. It's not a fancy place but very nice. Very busy every time.

Use to go every Sunday after church but the service became horrible. At first everyone was happy to see us as we were pretty much regulars. Last 4-5 times we went it was pretty much like we were unwelcome and the waitresses clearly were annoyed we even walked in. I am visiting this area from New Hampshire. I get recommended to come to this restaurant I sit down with two of us we order bacon, eggs, potato and toast. Everything was undercooked. They went back cook the bacon I took one bite of a potato and spit it out because it was Siverly undercooked their eggs that were poached were jiggly, so I ask my waitress if I could please purchase two muffins she looked right at me and said since you don't lik I or a food, you won't like our muffins and denie me to buy a muffin take a home hungry wow all they did was sit around talking to each other, and your coworkers instead of doing the fucking job Shittiest place I've been in years do not go there. My husband and I are on a mission to find the best breakfast in the Englewood area. We tried spinnaker cafe TWO times within a three months span. Both times, we were so sadly unsatisfied with the entire experience. The tables were sticky and the booths had food crumbs on them... the water was from the tap, so it had the Florida pipe line taste, no filtered water. The potato "hash browns" seemed to be leftover baked potatoes from the day before, and they were burnt on the bottom. My husband ordered an omelet, he ate half of it, but said there was no seasoning. I ordered eggs and toast - my eggs were very over done and had no seasoning. The toast was perfectly toasted though, so that was a plus! Walking into this restaurant is like walking into yesteryear. There is a diner-like counter on the right and an open dining space on the left. A wait staff sat us at a table in the dining room. We were attended to quickly with a nice hot cup of coffee. The service in general was excellent. We ordered breakfast - eggs, bacon, toast with fixings. It was all served hot and delicious. I've lived here in Englewood for nearly 30 years. I have been to and eaten at probably every restaurant in town since Karl Ehmer's. Let me tell you this. Here in Englewood, restaurants come and go. I can't even remember how many food establishments have come and gone. Spinnaker has been here for a long time. It's always have been a truly go to place for locals and visitors. Most restaurants cannot claim that. It's nice to see any business trying to keep customers wanting to come back. Thanks to the entire staff! You guys really do a great job. Except for Edwin. A fantastic breakfast diner joint down south. My dad and I ended up here on a Sunday morning and the place was certainly hopping. The front entry is a bit challenging when they are super busy with people trying to pay their bill, some exiting, some entering, and no clear instructions (i.e. a "wait to be seated" sign) and we seemed to be in the way. However, we stuck it out and were glad we did! It didn't take long before a young guy who works at Spinnaker saw us awkwardly standing and got us a table that was clearing as soon as he could. Then he happily grabbed our breakfast beverages as we perused the menu. I was tempted to go for the special - pumpkin bread french toast ::mouth waters:: but I decided it probably would have been too sweet for me. Instead, I decided to go for the "Rowdy Ranger Skillet" (gotta love those rustic food names, haha) while pops went for the standard Eggs Benedict - they seem to have about 8 varieties of eggs benedict, but he went for the tried and true one. Another lady took our order and she was also very pleasant and sincere when she told us that the grill was pretty busy and it might take a little while. As one who likes disclaimers, that was alright with me. While waiting for our food my coffee cup was never empty (essential at any truly decent breakfast establishment and greatly appreciated!). When it came out, the food was great! I wasn't expecting ground steak in my skillet, but it was still well done. The parental unit also appreciated his dish. Overall, the experience was great and if I lived in the area I'd make it back for breakfasts often. 4.5 stars. read more

Some of their baked items are good, eg their cannolis are quite tasty, while their minced meat pie had very undercooked pastry and the eclair's chocolate was a generic bad chocolate icing that was caked on top (to misuse an old adage - it doesn't taste good, but at least there's lots of it). Their popcorn shrimp was reasonable, their burgers were ok, and the fries, onion rings and coleslaw were typical diner fare. We didn't try any breakfast items. read more

My french toast was burned on the outside and raw on the inside, I had 5 pieces of bacon 2 were cooked 3 were half raw, my husband's steak and eggs was like eating cardboard, no taste at all dont know if it was on off day cause they were busy, but it was awful and my stomach agrees! What a great breakfast place! The Yelp reviews were spot on, and this was reinforced by all of the police cars in the parking lot, as the cops are having breakfast here this morning. Just a great local diner place, with a vast menu, and many fresh and creative dishes, such as skillets and quiches and omelettes. I would definitely go back to explore the lunch menu, which looked great. The service was friendly and casual, what you and I hope and expect for a diner. Great meal tonight with an awesome waitress (Lori). She was very helpful and pleasant. For the meal we had the liver and onions , haddock fish special and the jambalaya. All were very good and the prices were reasonable. Not much of a wait. The liver came with chocolate cake, the cake was great. We took home 2 eclairs , a raspberry pie and a whoopee pie . Fast, friendly and delicious. Coffee refills every few minutes and food was so quick. We came in with my one year old son and they were so nice, attentive and most important quick because he was hungry and cranky. ( still talking about them the next day) The pancakes are dinner plate size and super thin. They have a vanilla / almond taste. My meal was good. I would not get the grits again as they are flavorless. The bakery case has the wow factor. Many people stopping just to pick up baked goods. The service is not very good. This place is hit or miss. The last time we went it wasn't very good. I had the patty melt with vegetables and fries. The vegetables were still frozen and the patty melt was bland. We had breakfast here on our first day in the area. A solid choice and very well priced. My eggs were cooked perfectly, grits were good and my biscuit was flaky. What's not too like? I have tried this cafe three times. Today is my last. During my other visits the service was mediocre and the food was okay. This morning both were bad. I ordered the Bacon and cheese Eggs Benedict with home fries. The home fries are just mushy potatoes. The bacon was undercooked and the eggs were very small and undercooked also. The cheese was cold and not melted. The server tried to remove the undercooked bacon from my plate and suggested I eat the rest. I asked for the meal to be taken off the check and that's it. After a little back and forth she agreed. The owner was present and never came over. I really have nothing positive to say about this visit. read more
