Taylor Ham, Egg and American Yellow Cheese on a Kaiser Roll!! Legit.
Selmy B.

Legit Diner!! This place is awesome. Filled with local charm, open grill, dishwasher, prep, and large welcoming counter seating. Couple of tables complete the dining area. Menu is extensive considering it's a breakfast and lunch spot. If like me you love Taylor ham, here's your favorite sandwich with egg and American cheese on a real Kaiser roll. Served with crispy chunky potatoes! OMG, I savored each bite. They are funny, the menu says Taylor Ham/Pork Roll. They are welcoming to both parts of Jersey, north and south! Yes, they have all the regular breakfast options made fresh when you order. Loved it! Service is friendly and relaxed with plenty of coffee refills!

Well - We haven't been here since last year:) - And wanted to see if the food was still as good as it was before. Ordered the Taylor Pork Roll (Taylor Ham for us Jerseyans!!) with cheese on a Kaiser roll with a side of their home potatoes- Excellent as always!! Kris our server was super great making sure we did not run out of coffee. The place always gives you that warm welcome feeling. Our friend Debbie was there helping out as usual - They are very family oriented. The prices are super reasonable and they have daily specials so be sure to ask your server. Also if you pay cash you get a small discount (well worth it) The ride from Sarasota was well worth the trip and from wherever you are, you will not be disappointed with the local friendly service. See you there!!!

A Great diner: Efficient staff. Food always fresh and the menu has great Variety. they have breakfast meat from probably every hometown in the US. I got the half size "pile up ". I usually don't get a skillet with everything mixed in, but this one looked like it would work. It did! See the menu I attach for what's in it. Prices are value oriented also. Enjoy.! The half size was still very, very filling and I left very full.

Starting with a hot cup of coffee!

Always GREAT food and service. Extensive menu with all day breakfast. Quaint cafe, only challenge is it's always busy!

This is a very popular, locally -owned hole in the wall restaurant with a loyal following and for good reason. Food is fantastic, prices are very reasonable with large portions and the service is spot on with cheerful servers.

This is a full stack biscuits, gravy, eggs, cheese, sausage patties, with home fries.

Small place, with quite a few tables. Food was great, you will not go home hungry. Service was on point.

1/2 order Pile Up - Pile of country home fries, biscuit sausage patties, topped with sausage gravy, shredded cheddar, and scrambled eggs.

What a great find while vacationing down south. Stopped in for a good southern breakfast and hit the jackpot! Ordered the 1/2 order of the Pile Up - Pile of country home fries, fresh biscuit split, sausage patties, topped with sausage gravy, shredded cheddar, and finally topped with scrambled eggs. Even with the half order, it was a decent serving and I left full. Service was great and we were served coffee not long after sitting down which is always a win for breakfast. All the staff were friendly and showed off the southern hospitality

Coffee and mini muffins.

We had…read morebreakfast here a few years ago and enjoyed it; wanted to go back but we don't eat breakfast often. Prices were higher this time, understandably. They are still better priced on a basic breakfast than other places nearby. I wanted to try their eggs Benedict even though I've only ever had it maybe 2-3 times in my life! I'm not a good person to judge since I'm not really sure what hollandaise should taste like! It was more tangy tart than I expected. The eggs were cooked the way they should be and the ham was thick. In my memory, it should've had a stronger ham flavor, as I think Canadian bacon is the traditional meat and I was hoping for that. But even eating a piece of the thick ham by itself, I couldn't taste a salty smoked ham flavor. While I found that disappointing, I couldn't take a star away because visually it looked great, and I imagine a lot of people would love to see that thick slice of ham even if it is too mild! Don't judge it by my photo because I broke my yolks and stirred them up before I remembered to take a photo. The grits (my choice of side) were just like I like them. My husband got a 2 eggs breakfast with home fries (?) sausage and toast. It was a full plate of food and he enjoyed it. They have home made strawberry jam (yum!) and I will for sure get breakfast with toast or biscuits next time just so I can have some of that jam. I did put a little bit of jam on a couple bites of my English muffin from under my Benedict. The coffee mug was tall so my husband appreciated that; and the friendly & attentive server, Melissa, filled it before empty, as needed. We will be back "sooner than later" hopefully, because there's more I want to try on their menu. I do recommend going here for breakfast especially if you are an early bird or find yourself out and about very early for some reason like we were, and need a breakfast. I think they might get crowded quickly, so early is better. Note that their hours were not accurate on the iPhone maps app - I submitted correct hours and it's pending approval. However I used the website hours and one of their days I think it was Sunday - was showing closed at 1 but it's actually 1:30.

The restaurant has a bright, welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. Everything was very clean and well organized, and the environment felt cheerful and inviting, which is perfect for starting the day. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Even though the restaurant was busy, the service was quick and efficient, and everyone working there seemed happy and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious. You can really tell that everything is made with fresh ingredients and prepared with care. The menu has so many great options, from classic breakfast dishes to healthier choices and creative brunch items. Everything we ordered came out beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and everything was cooked perfectly. The coffee and drinks were also great and kept coming, which is always a plus when you're enjoying a relaxing breakfast. It's the kind of place where you can take your time, enjoy good food, and have a great conversation with family or friends. Overall, this location truly stands out as a fantastic breakfast and brunch spot in Port Charlotte. Between the excellent service, fresh and flavorful food, and welcoming atmosphere, it's easy to see why so many people love First Watch. I am updating my previous review, and unfortunately, this visit warrants a 2-star rating…read more This has always been our go-to spot for breakfast, but over the past few months--and especially now--things have clearly changed, and not for the better. We're now at the point where we're questioning whether we will return. Since the head chef is no longer there, it's very noticeable that the kitchen has been impacted. The quality, taste, and speed of the food have all declined. Even more concerning is the lack of professionalism you can now see coming out of the kitchen--it's disappointing. What made this visit even more surprising is that this was during a special holiday, and the restaurant was not busy. Given that, there is no reason service and food should have taken as long as it did, or come out with such poor quality and lack of execution. The General Manager needs to take stronger control--not just of the kitchen, but also of the service team's attitude and overall execution. There are a couple of servers who consistently do an excellent job--Franklin being one of them. He gets it right every single time, even with special requests, and truly stands out. Unfortunately, that was not our experience today. Our server, Sheyly, took our order and we made a simple request to have our French toast held until after our main dishes. Her response of "I'll try" was not reassuring, and she walked away without confirming anything. We then waited over 30 minutes for our food, only to hear our server yell to the kitchen to "hold the French toast"--which clearly came too late. The French toast was brought out before our main dishes, with no acknowledgment or concern for the mistake. When our main dishes finally arrived, the presentation was poor and the portions were noticeably smaller than what we've experienced before. While there may have been issues with the previous head chef, one thing that was always consistent was the quality and execution coming out of the kitchen--and that consistency is now gone. We truly hope that the GM or someone within the organization takes the time to read this and make the necessary changes, because this place used to be something special. Prev Review ; Nice place for breakfast but some of the waitress need some training. The chef and team are always on point.

My husband visited today 4/23/2026 and said the food was good, but his experience with 1 particular staff was uncomfortable and unwelcoming. On her way I'm going inside, a woman approached him rudely in a way that made him feel like he didn't belong there. She didn't greet him or anything. After he had already ordered his food and paid for it, he was sitting outside waiting , she approached him with an attitude and said "Do you need a menu or something, or are you just hanging out?" As if he wasn't supposed to be there. This was completely unnecessary and made him feel disrespected. I later called to speak with a manager about the situation. The woman who answered was unhelpful and unprofessional. She questioned who I was, refused to clearly identify herself at first, and would not let me speak to a manager. She even told me to come so she could meet me and I didn't understand that at all. She then hung up on me. When I called back, she ignored my call, but answered when I used a different phone. At that point, she said she would put me on hold so she could tell her side of the story to the manager first before letting me speak, which is not how customer concerns should be handled. Overall, while the food may be decent, the customer service was extremely poor and needs serious improvement. No customer should be made to feel uncomfortable or dismissed like this.
