We came on a Friday night-it was very busy. Also there was live music-the place was hopping! The first thing we noticed was a sticker on the menu telling us that 1) it's a charge of $5.00 to share a plate 2) refills on soft drinks are limited to 1 free refill- We found this aggressive and off putting-each entree here is between $15.00 and $25.00 This seems pretty rough as a policy-not like other local restaurants-at all! Seems like the owner is tight-fisted- Is he cheap with the ingredients as well?? Well! The food was terrific! We were all delighted with our entrees-my mom loved the taco salad and my husband loved the broiled grouper! I had the chicken sandwich and it was good! I would definitely order it again! Wow! Great place to hang out enjoy good food and watch sports! We thoroughly enjoyed the Fried Fish which was lightly battered and fried perfectly crispy. Cool Pickle in Paradise used to be one of my fav neighborhood restaurants to frequent. The menu is limited and at one time each dish I ordered was good. That has changed within the last six months. For example, last week there were only three in my party. Each one of our orders wasn't prepared correctly and was cold. When we sent it back the food arrived with a warm plate, but food was still not warm. I had to send mine back again due to an allergy that I've stated now twice. This time the hand held was returned and the cheese was literally scraped or wiped clear. I used to love this place. I won't be back. read more

A good visit I like the name, so I headed down to check it out and eat some food. When I walked in and looked around, I saw a larger than I expected place, spacious really, with a sea theme. This is a no frills space, basic setup with a bar area on one side and dining tables on the other. All the people were on the bar side, so that's where I sat. For dinner I went with a burger, a 1/2 lb Paradise Bacon Cheese Burger. When it arrived it looked basic, plain bun, typical toppings. That the patty was thick did get it to something more towards that 1/2 lb. By the time I finished it I had decided it was actually very good both in taste and size. I liked what I would describe as laidback service, no rushing around, available if needed, comfortable like me new guy was welcome in this room. While I was eating more and more people arrived until the bar area was loud and there were diners in the other part. I don't know how many bar and restaurant options are in the immediate area, this may be the place to go for everyone local. Looking at their facebook page I learned they do have evening activities but you wouldn't know it just sitting in the restaurant / bar at 6pm. No schedule, no advertising items, just a few TVs. I did ask about the Cool Pickle name hoping there was an interesting story, and only learned the new owners liked and kept the name the old owners called it. Maybe someday they can learn or make up something funny and hang it on a wall. The walls could use some clutter. read more

We usually try & give a restaurant 3 times before checking off the list, well today was the 3rd time, bad service! Food is usually good, but service has been bad every time we have been there! Maybe they are understaffed! Like I said food is good, guess she has her regulars, so they apparently get more attention! I live close by full time and hoped this would be a regular place for us. Problem is that whenever we try to go every table in the entire restaurant and bar has a reserved sign. Apparently they reserve the entire place for some games. Don't know if the people actually show up or spend money but they do not turn the tables. Stopped by for a late dinner around 8:00 pm on a Saturday night. My wife and I ordered pot roast open sandwich. Waitress came back maybe 6 minutes later and told us they were out of pot roast. No problem we said and we both ordered shrimp scampy. I also ordered a cup of soup that was not served yet. Soup came out a few minutes later, immediatley following that our shrimp scampy. I just have to say that this was the most tastless shrimp scampy both of us have ever had. Even the shrimp was bland. We feel they rushed it becauce the fettuccine noodles were very al dente and were sticking together. The garlic was burnt and bland. Garlic toast was so soggy from the garlic butter it was inedible. Just want to say Cool Pickle should stick to burgers and fries and leave the pasta dishes to the italian restaurants. Not a good choice that particular night. read more

Service was slow, but they did state they were low on staff. The food is sub-par bar food, and not friendly to those with food allergies (I had reactions within 30 minutes). On top of that, the lady sitting behind us was served uncooked chicken! I would be very cautious of eating here. I also thought the place could use a good cleaning! This restaraunt was recommended, so we stopped in for dinner. It is a popular spot , very busy, so wait times are pretty long after being seated. We ordered apps, had the mushrooms and clams, boths very good. Ordered our main dish waited for a while...... waited for while, finally when we got our food it was not the right order, at this point we had been waiting for a very long time and decided to just leave. Our first time here, been wanting to check it out. In a little strip mall next to Ace Hardware off Placida Road. Menu was a bit limited. I ordered the ultimate grilled cheese which includes bacon, tomato and avocado. I received a plain grilled cheese. The waitress was new and was very sweet. She admitted that she had turned it into the kitchen incorrectly and would send it back to be remade. The kitchen must have just peeled open the grilled cheese and slapped 1 piece of bacon on each side, a tomato, a slice of avocado. When the sandwich was returned to the table the cheese was no longer melted and the bread was hard. The waitress was so nice I just couldn't return it again. updating my review as there is new ownership and staff here. Been in many time since it changed hands. We sit at the bar as we go there for lunch. The burger is great. big, juicy and delicious. We had also had the cheese steak, steak quesadilla and both were very good. Fries are always served hot and taste great. Stopped here for lunch on Saturday and had a great black and bleu burger, washed down with a Space Dust IPA on draft. Best thing was that on Saturdays, burgers are half price all day. Decided to try this place last night for the first time after hearing mixed reviews from friends. Arrived at 5:30pm And was seated right away as there was lots of empty tables. Our waitress came over after a minute to take our drink orders. Very pleasant. She came back and we ordered a couple burgers. After about 20 minutes our waitress came over to check on us and told us that our food should be out soon and that the kitchen was backed up because they had a large party in the next room. About 5 minutes later the waitress came back with two burger baskets and sat them on the table. I told her politely that isn't what we ordered and she replied that's right and took them away. She came back about 10 minutes later and said it should be out any time. A few minutes later the wife of the owner, I assume and checked on us. After another 20 minutes and waiting an hour for our food we left $5 on the table for our drinks and walked out. The owners wife came out the door when we reached our vehicle and said our food was ready, we replied no thanks. She offered to wrap it to go and no charge, we relied no thanks and got in our vehicle. While we were backing out of the parking spot a man (the owner I assume) came out and stood in the parking lot. We rolled our window down and he asked if we were the two that just walked out and I replied "yes, we waited over an hour!" He replied "No you didn't. When you were seated you were told it would be a 35 minute wait and the kitchen ticket says 38 minutes!" I told him "that is NOT true, we were not told anything when we were seated and that he should go ask the waitress. Maybe she is at fault and put the order in late!" And we drove off. I know what time we sat because I text my sister telling her we were just sitting down to dinner so I had that time stamp! 4 other people walked out just before us. The audacity of this person to be combative in the parking lot and call a first time customer who waited over an hour for burgers a liar is mind blowing. Maybe next time they should be more apologetic and ask for a second chance instead of trying to be combative with someone in the parking lot. Still shocked about that. read more

food can be hit or miss depending on who's cooking but the burgers are ALWAYS good and cooked to order... drinks are poured well and relatively cheap for the area... they have about a gazillion TVs so finding a game you'd like to watch is not a problem - unless you want to watch hockey... for some reason this place just doesn't want to show hockey even with all the snowbirds and transplants from the upper mid-west and northeast around... They do a music bingo on Wednesdays and there's Karaoke on Tuesdays. I would like to see management/ownership utilize social media a little more to inform everybody what is going on that night at the bar, what the daily specials are, etc... etc... their last post on their Zuckerbook page is from December of last year... the staff is very friendly and attentive and the bar regulars are a riot - very easy to strike up a conversation with the folks here... I only give it 4 of 5 stars because of the cleanliness (or lack there of) of the bathrooms and not having one of the gazillion TVs on the NHL Network... read more

We go every Saturday night for the hamburger special. Delicious. Homey atmosphere and clean. They have a killer BLT loaded with bacon. Yum. Only once we had questionable service. That's ok. Everyone is entitled to a bad day. I wouldn't count them out. read more
