Artur's Restaruant! A European Gem in Englewood. Charlotte County Girlfriends were all excited to try a new place for our Wednesday's lunch group. Well Artur's impressed each lady in a large group. From their variety of pierogis, deliciously prepared kielbasa, Salmon dishes with freshness abound, one Salmon offered beautiful beets sparking moist. The Rueben perfection, others had the variation of salads, Greek, Beet Carpaccio, Garden. Gyros's, with Chicken Sandwich with Boom Sauce, Philly Cheeese and so many more other delights! Our outstanding full attentive servers were Khaley and Miranda! Both were spot on! Drinks, Apps, Entree, special requests on the entree, nothing was an issue to accommodate our ladies. We were placed in their large private room and the set in a U SHAPE was very accommodating for all to be able to speak and hear each other. Had dinner tonight at Arthur's with my wife and friends. We all had cocktails before ordering. Two of us decided to order pot roast. It came with salad or soup.. the soup was polish pickle and my wife said it was delicious. My salad was fresh with blue cheese dressing. The pot roast was awful. It was out of a bag with the brown gravy being added when plated. The mashed potatoes seemed old and barely warm. The brown gravy on top of the mashed potatoes looked like semi hard chocolate on frozen ice cream. On to the fish plate, my friend ordered baked haddock. It was very thin and a looked like it was bedded in slime. We had difficulty looking at it and it was sent back to the kitchen. Enough said about the meal. The reason for adding two stars was because the waitress was great and very responsive. My guess the reason the restaurant is still alive is that they have a very active bar scene. read more

Had lunch there today. Husband had the Reuben and fries. He said the meat was fatty and tough. The fries were seasoned and tasty. I had the Gyro. The meat was kind of charred, dry and lacked flavor. A friend introduced me to this place. The good and the service knocked my socks off. Kuba was our bartender. The inside bar has a frozen "well" so you can set your drink there and keep it ice cold. No impressed. The menu is all Over the place, it's so broad you can't tell what type of restaurant you are even at. Plus the portions are minuscule and the price is excessive. Got fish and chips to be safe. Wasn't impressed. Service was mediocre at best. Ambience was OK outside by the tiki bar, but inside was very drab and lifeless. Don't care to go back. First of all we reserved a table for two 5 days before and when we went to the restaurant they did not have our reservation so we had to sit at the bar. Bartenders were very busy so took a while to give our order. The food was very good and the bartenders worked very hard and refilled our drinks without asking. Band was good. Hello, I recently went back to Arturs Restaurant for dinner after a long, long time ( at least 7 years ). I was EXTREMELY glad i did. Let me tell you something, i had the best piece of Salmon I had since moving here in 2016. This was the best tasting Salmon i have had ( Cedar Plank Salmon). Bar none. Additionally i had the Pickle Soup, which was a very good surprise. It tasted literally like pickles in a bowl, but in liquid form Wow. Has a very good breadth of menu, has a specific Polish menu, and Artur is actually from Poland, so he knows his stuff. Good band, LOTS of seating, i had not been in the Tiki Hut area since it was added, but very cool and impressive. One of the guitarist's was walking all around the Tiki area playing his guitar, kind of neat. Waitress managed our party of 18 very adroitly. I have not been disappointed with my meals each time that I come here. I've had the Prime Rib and baked potato, which were both done to perfection. The Prime Rib was tender, juicy and flavorful. The potato was cooked perfectly and came with butter and sour cream. My recent visit was on a Friday night and I was really looking forward to the Prime Rib again. Sadly they did not have it.............but......my server, Betsy, was awesome and recommended the Porterhouse. A couple of questions on the quality and I opted to go for it. After the day I had rebuilding our home, I needed a good meal and a bit of "refreshment". My Manhattan arrived quickly and was crafted spot on. The Porterhouse was awesome (Photos). It was cooked medium rare perfectly, was so tender, juicy and flavorful that it could have come off of my grill! (Yes, I cook a pretty mean steak.) The baked potato was cooked to perfection, arriving with butter and sour cream. The green beans were fresh and sauteed with strips of green and yellow bell peppers. I could not finish all of my meal so I had plenty left over for another evening. I see some reviews of people having a bad experience here. We have not had that experience yet, but be sure that if we do, I will be quick to speak to management and then to update my Yelp review. read more

What an excellent meal! I had the ribeye, hubby had liver and onions. We shared the pot stickers and pierogies. Everything was perfect. I had the Artur's Relaxer and it was great. Sometimes good other times no so good We have been here many times over the years and mostly have enjoyed our meals. We love the tiki hut with music, this past time not so good. We reserved at a non high top table. They tried to seat us at a high top. Our waitress was pleasant but mostly non existent. The pretzel was the only good item. The wrong meal was brought for my wife, the person that brought it insisted it was her order. The waitress not around to help , my wife ate the dry white fish on a salad. My food was served dry and cold, looked to be sitting 10-15 minutes. The burger was well done and dry instead of medium, fries cold, could not eat them. Since it's was cold I waited another 5 minutes for ketchup. Then I went looking for help, I needed to get up twice for meal assistance. No one ever asked if things were ok or if we needed anything. Bad meal, poor experience. It's possible they need staff. There were plenty of seats, just took forever to get the food. Stripped down menu outside now. Nice place outside. read more

Arthur's is a unique locally owned restaurant that exists in Englewood. The owner previously owned a restaurant south of there and decided to take over a preexisting restaurant at this location. On the particular night I dined we opted to sit outside as there was a guitarist playing cover music. The covered outdoor seating was fairly ample and there were a few tables occupied and then vacated when we got there, perhaps there is an early bird special of some kind. It seems that the restaurant has there fair share of regulars as we were there in a week night and it was decently busy. We opted for the mushroom and sauerkraut pierogis to start and they were quite good. The complimentary bread with the meal is nice and hearty. The fish entrée I had was nice and I liked the vegetables. The evening we were there it was quite chilly but we were offered a heating lamp which was nice and appreciated. I brought a group of 30 guys for a luncheon we host each month from our neighborhood. Some of the comments from the group were, 1) great service, 2) some said the price paid for a burger, fries and a soft drink was not such a value. 3) it's great that the servers brought pitchers of ice tea & soft drinks to each table, 4) wish there were more items on the menu, 5) food was real good 6) for the number of people the service was excellent, 7) ambience was very appealing. We stopped by after a long day at the beach. It has fantastic polish food! The restaurant had live music. It has a great comfortable seating arrangements, very clean and tidy! Enjoyed the pictures of various celebrities. The service was fast and our waiter kept our drinks filled. We enjoyed a great savory chicken fettuccini with angle hair noodles. We usually split our meals there is always plenty on one plate for both os us . There is a charge (4.80) for sharing a plate they were kind enough to split both our main meal and our salad. We sat and ordered the flatbread with additional add on of garlic, pepper and pepperoni and it was 100/10 sooo tasty and amazing! the Sweet thai chili wings were good but could have been saucier! I have 4 complaints. 1). if paying cash don't expect coin change back, they round up. This means the owner gets more $$ in his pocket at the end of the day. 2). when ordering a $30 meal expect instant potatoes and tough steak. 3). When we complained the waitress went and talked to someone and this is the response we got back from her, "The cook sends his apologies.". No mgr came out to discuss the food quality or the cold food itself. Most places will refund your $$ not this place. There was no cares on their part. 4). Restaurants will always ask if you want a baked potato or fries. Nope not this place because there is an up charge for ANY changes. However, when the menu specifically states mashed potatoes and you are paying $30+, I bet you were not expecting instant potatoes. This is Ridiculous! read more

Artur's is fine but there are better options in the area. This was my 2nd time here and both times the large parking lot was full but most people seemed to be out back in the tiki hut or at the bar. The menu is all over the place... a Polish selection (my hubs has had the kielbasa both times and it's fine, standard kielbasa, I had the schnitzel the first time and it was quite bland - the mass produced mashed potatoes served with these meals are very very dry). There's also seafood and stir fry and Italian and American bar food. I had Chicken Marsala this time and while it tasted fine, the chicken was TINY! Maybe five bites worth and very very few mushrooms. My aunt had a Greek salad and 1/2 the bowl was onions. It's just not the best... it's... fine. read more

We are so Glad we went the Food, Service and Entertainment was Top Notch. They had Live Music, and it was a Great Evening. We Highly Recommend Artur's and their entire Staff. The outdoor area is very fun. However, the wings had a very bad after taste and one person's wings were overcooked. Almost like they were freezer burned. We didn't even eat them. This is our third attempt in the last 4 months to try their wings (not on Sunday) and they were bad both times. They used to have some of the best wings in Englewood/Port Charlotte. Not sure what changed. Also, one of our friends ordered the prime rib and subbed the baked potato for mashed potatoes. They were charged an additional $2.50?? Where do I start. Thursday evening--not that crowded. I showed up with my wife, grandson and a good friend whom we were visiting. The waitress was brand new, and let us know from the start. OK, that's cool. But after we had been seated for 15 minutes, another party arrived and in a matter of 20 minutes later were enjoying their entrees while we stat in our booth like addled school children. When we did get our food, things got worse. My dinner was supposed to be polish sausage, which turned out to be what I could only figure was a half ring of Hillshire Farms grocery store meat, cut in half and slapped on the flat top. The sauerkraut tasted canned, and the side was some sorry-looking summer squash. The wife and friend had the pot roast, the portions were very small and my friend's dinner was cold. But the best part of the dinner was my grandson's grilled cheese sandwich. Until I visited this restaurant, I did not know that you could prepare a grilled cheese sandwich blackened. Totally inedible--and they only charged $12.00 for items on the kids' menu. This $115.00-plus dinner was a joke. You have been warned, avoid this place and save your money.
