When I ordered seemed a "little" expensive ($9.75 to start and then $2.45 for Tofu +++ for quinoa and other healthy topping?) , but I must say as a unethical selfish vegan (not about the animal and its all about MY health) or more aptly a Nutritarian eater, there were plenty of components and ingredients for a healthy meal. I would have gone for black, or garbanzo beans or even peas??? for sure but no vegetable proteins on the chart?? Ordering is a bit of a pain. My co-worker who is a regular there says most folks order a signature wrap and he said some comments about my a la carte order? So for that I might suggest a Signature Whole Food Plant Based (WFPB) Wrap or Salad and the 5% of us who are vegan, vegetarian, WFPB, Nutritarian etc could just click a button? The sandwich was very good the way I ordered it, and it was prepared exactly and perfectly. Fresh ingredients and the wrap was nice. I will have to check this out in person at some point!!!

When I walked in, both owners were present. They're doing a great job getting the business off the ground, and they've only been open for three months. I drank a medium roast Guatemalan coffee, which is known for its unique flavor profile and high quality. Apparently the Guatemalan is one of the most sought-after coffees in the world. I thoroughly enjoyed it and found it to be full-bodied with rich flavors. While I didn't get a chance to try their baked goods this time, I plan to on my next visit. Bottom line... Albeit this visit was for the second purpose, Pilot House seemed like the perfect spot to stop in my cargo pants and work shirt :) I enjoyed a cold brew coffee (gotta have that caffeine for the drive back), bacon cheeseburger and fries. The lettuce & tomato tasted fresh, and they customized the onions away. The cheese was only American cheese and the bacon had a nice crisp, plus I added bbq sauce. Besides pretty solid beachfront burgers, Pilot House doubles as a souvenir shop with Venice FL branded merch such as koozies and sweatshirts when you want to bring gifts for the folks back home. The building itself is pretty cool with its high pitched concrete shell roof (yes I look at those things). Plus, again, it's steps from the beach and next to free city parking.
